We absolutely love this place and it is our new favorite mexican restaurant in Lufkin!! The food is always excellent and served out quickly while still being hot. The staff are always so amazing, and super nice and friendly as well as very attentive! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

I went with a group of 5 and I had a bite of everyone's meals - my carbon tacos, menudo, and shrimp tacos, birria quesadillas, chips and salsa, omg, DELICIOUS! I am new to the area and finding authentic Mexican food has been difficult. BUT Tequila Grill is everything I have been looking for, I can not wait to go back!!

We shared the classic chicken & beef fajitas for one (regular dinner menu serving.) This came with rice, charro beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and three flour tortillas.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed. The food was absolutely delicious—especially the Camarón Brocheta, which was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. One unique and impressive touch was the presence of an in-house photographer. He quickly and professionally captured great moments of our family and delivered three beautifully framed photos in no time. Visited this last night and was impressed. The atmosphere was good, the food was wonderful, and the service overall was good as well. We have had the same dish in other restaurants and felt overall this was one of the best we have had. New place, so recommend you to check it out yourself as we will be back.

We decided to go on a whim and Tequila grill did not disappoint! The food was amazing and atmosphere was friendly and lively. As a family with 2 young children and an infant it was easy to move around and the boys enjoyed the decor and music. I decided to do a 4 out of 5 for the food because the food proportions were not what we were expecting. I got the Snapper a la diabla and my fiance got the El Mocajete. They both were full of flavor and good times. I do suggest the Snapper a la diabla even if you are not sure about spicy food, the kick isn't bad, almost a slight after affect. Anyway, it was worth the wait and a definite spot to come back to!

I kid you not, I am a Mexican food lover. When I say the beef fajitas melt in your mouth, with the charred lime, BELIEVE ME. Absolutely my new favorite spot. Will definitely be dreaming about their food❤️

Overall a good place to get Mexican food. Fajitas were good, it look kind of blend and depressing. Our waitress was not good, she was just in a corner talking. The manager had to come to our table and get our drinks(awesome job by him btw).

Went for lunch. Service was OK. Food was good, except the rice and refried beans were not even warm. Do the plates sit in the window till the waitress has time to bring it out? Or are they in a warming station that is definitely not warm. Next time I will tell them to nuke my rice and beans so they are hot. Ruins the rest of the meal. I will give them one more try. Too bad management doesn't read these reviews and fix the problem. As well as other restaurants.

Im giving the atmosphere 3 stars for one reason. The inside is beautifully done, looks fantastic. The problem is that the music was way too loud. You cannot have a conversation bc you have to compete w it. The volume shd come down 3 notches. The food was ok, I love the gravy. The rice needs attention, does not seem like legit Mexican rice. The taco was nice. The margarita was good. Its the best I've had in lufkin amd I've sampled all Mexican food in the area searching for decent food and drinks.

I ask for a side and got a dollop of daisy they charged $1.75 but didn’t tell me that when I asked for side . I would have cancelled the side on principle cause wow that’s crazy for a spoonful of sour cream . I have went there before and not got charged so I guess just depends on server . Also when did we stop getting cheese with fajitas?! If I order taco it has cheese .. Their hot sauce & fajitas were really good though !

It wasn’t super bad, But it does need a little improvement:) The food wasn’t so bad. The manager there for tonight was definitely kind! The customer service could use a bit more work. They weren’t coming as often.. As a former CFA manager , It might be a slow day for the business since it’s a Monday..but The quality of service should always be top notch, no matter what day of the week it is. When the manager asked how we were doing, we let him know what we needed, and he had to get our waiter from where they were talking in a corner to come to our table. We had a saying that says if you’re talking or leaning, you can be cleaning or getting ready for closing (helping around) Overall, everything was good! Just a bit more interaction please!

There’s better Mexican places in Lufkin. The food was ok. Nothing really sparked my interest and not a whole lot of flavor. Although I did like the salsa. Our server was very nice but the communication between her and the kitchen was severely lacking. They forgot our kids cheese quesadilla. The server kept telling me the kitchen was working on it several times. We didn’t get the half of a small kids quesadilla until our whole party was done with their meal and my kids had already eaten off everyone else’s plates. That’s pretty ridiculous. It takes no time to make an half cheese quesadilla not 45 plus minutes. Our whole table wasn’t impressed by the food nor service. We won’t be coming back.

The service was good. I liked the decor. I liked the chips and salsa. The food was a bit pricey but that’s not unusual for a Tex Mex restaurant. The food was just ok, the flavors were a bit off to me. Some other restaurants with the same dish taste better. But I do want to come back and give it another shot.

Got a chess quesadilla and asked for nothing else on it they brought me a chicken with sour cream and avocado then I ask if they can fix it with nothing and they just took off the avocado

You went from 1 star to 2 stars. You lowered some prices on your menu by a couple of $. The three street tacos are now $15.25 and before they were $17.25. I've never paid $15 for street tacos (including rice and beans)

While the food was good the music was very loud and we kept having to ask what our server was saying. Everybody was having to talk loud so it was overly noisy. We couldn't visit between us without shouting so we ate and left. The server served our food and disappeared. Probably won't be back.

For a place called tequilia-- their large margaritas for $10.50 didn't contain much. A bit more on the sour side too. Food was nothing special. Very bland. Nothing spicy. Would much prefer Herradura's 30 sec away. Service was honestly great! Place is new and was very busy- but servers were very attentive.

Needs nicer staff

We went to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday and were very disappointed. Several other tables had birthday celebrations where the staff sang to them and presented them with a desert that had sparklers on it. When it was my mom's turn, all they brought her was a pile of whip cream and a spoon, then the guy slung the whip cream on her face. What happened to restraunts giving out deserts for birthdays? Why didn't my mom get the same treatment as other tables? This was truly bad service, we expected a lot more for how expensive this restraunt was.

Food was burnt. Waiter was more worried about his phone than waiting on us. They did refill our drinks once. It was not worth the money spent.

My wife and I tried this place for the first time last night. Parking lot was full, but we got right in and were seated. The inside that used to be a "Dead" Lobster has been completely renovated for a good atmosphere. We were given a friendly greeting at the door and Leslie was our server, a very sweet and efficient young lady. Chips were a bit too thick and the watery salsa was less than average. Our major complaint was the food. We had enchiladas, tacos, a tamale, rice, and beans. The food was terribly greasy and made worse with thick brown sauce slathered all over the food. The cheese in the enchiladas tasted like Velveeta. The ground beef in the taco had a strange taste, almost metallic. The refried beans were OK and the rice passable--but the rest came up woefully short. Our bill for two (we only had water) came to $31.12 and we left a $6 tip for Leslie. We think the restaurant saves money on take-home cartons because there was no way we wanted to take home what we decided not to eat (much of the meal) and we were glad as the food caused stomach problems for my wife. Sorry to say, this was a one-and-done visit.

The prices we’re very steep compared to everyone else in town. I was disgusted with the tacos. The meat was very, very mushy, like potted meat and had an odd flavor like soy sauce, which should not be in taco meat. My wife got the chicken nachos and finished 2/3 of it before finding an actual piece of raw chicken in it. I don’t even know how that could happen. The server took it off my check, but the manager was nowhere to be found. I will never go back to this restaurant and would not recommend it to anyone.

Now I’m from Houston, so my expectations of food are pretty high, but I kept them relatively low because I know nobody in Lufkin likes any “spice” To start we were bought a basket of chips, which tasted like they were fried and old grease. We ordered the queso and asked if we can get ground beef in it. They proceeded to top it with Hormel beef chili. The queso was not good either. I ordered the beef fajitas which came out cold. The plate was not sizzling. My mom got the enchilada plate. She says the enchilada plate was lukewarm. After our food was dropped off nobody came back to check on us because I was really looking forward to telling them. Hey, we’re kind of disappointed in the experience here. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I would save your time and go to Heuraduras instead. Extremely disappointed.

The worst experience I have ever had! The air was so cold and blew so hard our napkins wouldn't stay on the table, the staff laughed it off and refused to adjust the air forcing us to get blankets and jackets from our vehicles. Water constantly dripped on us, the cheese dip was literally not hot and had solid chunks of un-melted cheese in it..the cold hurricanewinds blowing on our table gave the cheese no cuance to finish melting either! We never got our second dip/sauce we ordered, Im guessing it was to much work. None of the food came out hot and one dish was incorrect the first time as well as congealed, we sent it back and they brought only part of the food back and IT was congealed and not warm either, so it was sent back and we asked for it to be removed from our ticket! We had 6 waitstaff in the small area we were in plus what looked like several managers walking though and none seemed concerned and no one even bothered to apologize for the cold food we got twice!! Seriously the absolute worst! If the waitstaff spent the same amount of energy taking care of the guests as they did socializing among themselves, it may have been better! Yes we still left a tip, more than 10% even though we shouldn't have. And lets finish off with the insane prices, -4 sodas, -3 luke warm entrees ( 4th sent back twice and removed) -a bowl of unmelted queso, $95!!!...(before tip) I will NEVER go back!!!! I would give ZERO stars if I could!

Food was good, atmosphere was good, but when it was time to pay for our food, our server took our card and never returned it when he brought us the receipt. The server never came back, and when we mentioned it up front they went looking for our card and we stood there waiting for almost 10 minutes before they found it and brought it back. When we walked up to ask about our card, there was another woman up there waiting who told us that this is the second time now that she has walked into the restaurant and saw someone up front saying their card wasn't returned to them.

Really disappointed today ! 10/04/25 No senior menu so I ordered the kids taco plate. Was told ohh yeah no problem. Never said anything else to me. Got the ticket was charged $1.50 for fajita meat , I didn’t ask for that ! Didn’t ever get asked! Then a $2.00 miscellaneous charge. For what ? He acted like he didn’t speak much English ! He was the worst waiter!! Crazy Amish looking beard 🤣 Beans were so dry too !! Do better or close !! Doubt if we go back !

Decided to try the New Mexican restaurant tonight. I’m not sure how it could be any worse. Ordered a shrimp and enchilada meal and the shrimp were not pealed and had no flavor. Also ordered queso that must be straight from a can. My friend got fajitas. The tortillas looked like they might have tasted good a few weeks ago but were dry and hard. Overall the food was nasty and most of it is in my trash can. Very disappointed

Overall, the lack of seasoning and poor quality ingredients made this meal forgettable. We ordered online and had our meal delivered, so cannot comment on service. Unless there’s a serious turnaround in the kitchen, we won’t be returning.

Food was good, atmosphere was good, but when it was time to pay for our food, our server took our card and never returned it when he brought us the receipt. The server never came back, and when we mentioned it up front they went looking for our card and we stood there waiting for almost 10 minutes before they found it and brought it back. When we walked up to ask about our card, there was another woman up there waiting who told us that this is the second time now that she has walked into the restaurant and saw someone up front saying their card wasn't returned to them.

Really disappointed today ! 10/04/25 No senior menu so I ordered the kids taco plate. Was told ohh yeah no problem. Never said anything else to me. Got the ticket was charged $1.50 for fajita meat , I didn’t ask for that ! Didn’t ever get asked! Then a $2.00 miscellaneous charge. For what ? He acted like he didn’t speak much English ! He was the worst waiter!! Crazy Amish looking beard 🤣 Beans were so dry too !! Do better or close !! Doubt if we go back !
