Excellent deli - had the corn beef and pastrami sandwich (hard to find a great deli down in the RGV, this is as close as to what I grew up with! Can't vouch for the other menu items, but if they are like the sandwich - you shouldn't be disappointed.

Service was incredible. Manager, Sam took care of my family and I after a minor delay. It made our day and my wife and I will definitely return again. Extremely professional.

I have been to McAlister's several times. I have enjoyed all of the sandwiches I've ordered. They are large, so I usually eat half and eat the rest later at home. Didn't have to wait long. Very friendly and attentive staff. Nice atmosphere.

Never had a bad experience eating here over the past five years. Staff is extremely pleasant and the food is always good. Quality of food is consistent as well. Its nice knowing that you'll get the same quality experience and food no matter when you come here.

I was around Ware road at the time and remembered overhearing someone talking about this place and how good it is, At first didn't really know what to get but had some help ordering. Staff was really helpful and friendly. So i decided to order the Mediterranean Feta Pizza with Grilled chicken (probably the second best Pizza i ever had),A small Caesar salad (Amazing Salad!), and there famous iced tea (was a little strong but still very good).Now the place is a little pricey but its so worth it!

It was my first time visiting McAlisters. We had gone in a group as we had a tournament and had some time to kill. I had no idea what they served but the girl up front was SO HELPFUL. Like, when I mean helpful I had already ordered and she recommended something she thought I’d like. I ended up LOVING IT. Her name was Analisa according to my receipt. Anyway, she was an absolute joy made the entire ordering process enjoyable. The girl who actually brought us our food was very kind and professional. The food itself was AMAZING. My friends got Cesar salads as a side and they looked awesome. And I’m not a big sandwich girly but all in all I had the BEST experience here. 100/10 recommend

First off my review is for the treatment I received and the perceived culture I felt, rather than the food. There was a greeting when I entered, attentive employees, not overbearing during my stay and a goodbye on the way out. The food was good, nothing that was outstanding. If eateries would bring back a great customerr like I felt here, maybe they could get people to work for them. As far as I'm concerned the manager leads the charge and change here.

The deli has a nice menu. Our meals were well prepared. The staff was friendly and attentive. Tables were available. However, there were lengthy delays in receiving some meals but the staff came to the table to offer complimentary food, as a result. Even though some meals were late, everything was handled very well and the deli deserves a 5 star rating.

We have been here many times. My wife loves their food and I always ordered BLTA, I think that their food is good too. Always great customer service.

Really enjoyed my chicken salad sandwich. I had it with fruit and a yummy pickle. They have an extensive menu so it would be hard to not find something you could enjoy! Their lemonade was delicious! They even offered to give me a refill before I left (but their cups are huge). Staff was also super friendly.

I work at the nearby Hobby Lobby and am very grateful this place is nearby. I don't like stuffing deep fried food into my gullet and would rather stuff fresh sandwiches into my face instead. I've never had a problem with any of the food I have ever received here, nor have I heard of anyone else having problems. It's always consistently fresh, tasty, and made correctly. The staff is friendly, and to everyone, not just to me. They allow you to place your order in advance as well, making the short wait even shorter. The one issue (if you can call it that) is that it's the cashiers who serve your drinks and there is no soda fountain. This means when it's busy you might have to wait a little while for a refill. Other than that it's a perfect restaurant.

Ive tried ordering from their phone service and it was sent to some headquarters in another location. I showed up to the location and the food was not ready. They said they never even received the order. The manager rushed to make my food to go for me but its still odd they cant just take orders from their location. The food is also pretty small portioned in comparison to the price.

Significantly improved! Management used to deny complaints on the smell of the place; now, no smell. Good work! Maybe consider a bigger place now where there's more parking! Like the new spots by 26th and Expressway.

Love the food here. Today the only negative thing is that we ordered 2 sweet teas and when the girl served them, my husband saw she put one unsweet and he told her, but she insisted they were both sweet so he brought them. And when we got home, one was unsweet 😣😒 so we had to share one.

I was the first customer of the morning, had to search for a clean table, floors had crumbs and food on them as well. Sandwich tasted great, but had as much horseradish sauce on it as in it.

A clean and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpful. The spud ole subbed with veggie chili was great, my potato was a over cooked on the outside but the inside and chili was amazing. You won't even miss the meat!

Decent food over all. Been here a few times and I usually order something different and so far I have not been disappointed. The sweet tea is really good. Its one of my favorite. It is a little bit the pricy side. One thing that bothers me is that the tables are sometimes sticky at this location.

I ordered the Veggie sandwhich with a side of steamed broccoli. The sanswhich also came with a pickle wedge. The bread was delicious and veggies were chips and tasted fresh. The sauce thar came with sandwhich so good. And the steamed broccoli was seasoned and was cooked perfectly. Overall this was a very good vegetarian meal. The staff were also nice as well.

Came in and tried the pork sandwich but wow they got carried away with the mustard yes it gives it a good flavor but it was a bit too much that it's like eating a sour or mustard sandwich every bite I took was just sour. I wouldn't order it again. Sandwich was just made sloppy. Came in and tried the sammiches was good as always a bit pricey but was good food. It was good. the only thing was disappointed on the full-size Nachos it isn't worth the price, or should I say you don't get your moneys worth. They are a bit shysty on the ingredients to the nachos. 1st, the chili was very shysty, the avocado much needed to be diced on the dish, yet it was not enough for the dish. They forgot the sour cream, too, had to ask for it. The photo explains for itself the presentation to it is not that great. And this is a shareable dish...nope it isn't. As far as the sandwich was pretty bland, I don't understand the concept on the juice (sause) they give you. I have to dunk the sammich, and it's there not a great flavor. Actually, get rid of this one and bring back the Big Nasty sammich McAllisters.it is similar. Just add gravy instead of this salty water consume. The portion on the potato salad speaks for itself to see what I mean by shysty. Overall, I think it's a bit too much for the prices either. That just serves a better portion for the cost, yall.

Ordered take out through their website as I stayed at the Hilton Hotel nearby, and the service was fast and food was good. Salad was very yummy and the bread omg to die for. Kids' pizza was ok, not much flavor there, I could have done without it. But I would go back and try different dishes.

McAlister's has yet to disappoint when it comes to sandwiches. I took my wife there and the place was fairly empty so service was quick and the area was very clean. After much pondering...I finally decided the spicy Southwest Chicken looked good and my wife ordered herself the McAlister's club. Each sandwich basically checked off all the marks...they tasted fresh. The ingredients felt crisp...they appeared deceivingly small but they were definitely filling. The sides were fairly standard....potato salad and a bag of chips. They were the perfect complements to the sandwiches... Everything was tasty....good service...nearly 5 stars...was there anything lacking? I would say no...but still definitely recommend for a quick delicious bite but maybe if they had original sauces like other local establishments do....then a definite 5 ⭐

The sandwhiches are usually alright. They usually take a long time to make your order. This last visit, they got my order totally wrong and I didnt have time to wait for them to fix it. I asked for the turkey avacado and bacon. Ended up with turkey and honey mustard, no bacon or avacado. I was very disappointed it was way off. Also, the sweet tea always is really hot, and they barely give you ice. So, dont recommend if your in a rush.

Salad was blah, soup nothing extraordinary, sweet tea was pretty good. The chicken club was really good and my husband's jalapeño turkey sandwich was even better. The kids did not like or eat a single thing.

Been coming to McAllisters since it’s opening here in McAllen, TX. I’d say 10years plus but I’m not happy with the recent menu change. And customer service has gone from amazing to alright at best. Still continue coming but it’s not the same experience. Very sad

Good Deli but not for Texas. Customer service was good. Aesthetics had a diner feel which is good. The teas and lemonades are awesome. Great size for the price that is charged. The only reason I am giving it a 3 is the portions. McAlister you are too stingy for with your portion sizes. I paid 25 for 2 meals that is not including tip. Subway gives that same portion under 10 bucks. Why does a customer have to choose between half a sandwich and half a soup? That was my side: either the other half of my sandwich or half a soup. Taste was very flavorful. In Texas we do not do this to our customers. I ordered the McAlister Club. It looked nothing like the online picture. I couldn't even find the bacon and much less any sharp cheddar. I only saw the swiss cheese. It tasted like it had been done in the morning to be served sometime during the day. The freshness that was supposed to be there wasn't there. The second sandwich was the Garden Fresh Turkey: very well done! Fresh all the way. Fresh veggies, excellent bread, should be used on all sandwiches. I will be visiting next time just to take pictures to see if things have changed.

I guess this place is just bad. We waited 20 minutes just for an order of salad and soup to go. The salad was mehh nothing special or looked fresh. They gave me the wrong soup. I didn't know that my order was already ready. They kept my order in their pick up selves but they never called my name. They need better management!

We've been at this place lota of time and I can honestly say that it has been always great. Today was not one of those good days...our salad had red onions that were spoiled and had a really bad smell. My baked potato was cold and super dry as it needed more butter or was not hot enough. The manager was made aware and he apologized at our table but we had removed the red onions ourselves. I didn't mentioned the baked potato..Im pretty sure it was just overlooked this time. At other places they usually bring you another plate or offer a discount to keep the customer happy. Maybe management can work on that and please please check your baked potatoes next time. Other than that...our sandwich was full of flavor as well as our soup.

Salad was made poorly. Savanna chopped salad was poorly made and missing ingredients. Got it to go, was unaware of it until it was too late. Ruben sandwich was made well. For a ten dollar salad, very disappointed.

Ordered pick-two from the menu, Reuben sandwich and Caesar salad. The Reuben sandwich was great. The Caesar salad was disappointing with many limp and a few browning leaves and overly doused in dressing. All in all, the salad was marginal at best and took away from my overall lunch.

This is the third time I go. First and second time were good, this time very disappointed. I ordered the Southwest Cobb Salad. I got like 10 corn cobs, no poblano, chicken very poor served, not a good option. Servers were very kind.

I've been to McAlister's in several places and generally I like the chain, but this location has some issues! The foul odor when coming in the door was gag worthy! It smelled like an open sewer...whatever it was, it was an immediate appetite killer. Yuk. 🤢 Today I had a Caesar salad while my friend had the McAllister club. Both items were adequate, nothing extraordinary...if anything, a bit overpriced. The lemonade tea is great.👍 ... their coffee was horrible. It was weak and tasted like it was about the 3rd time around for the grounds...not good. Finally, I don't like the way one has to prepay the tip when paying with a card. I won't do it. I tip at the table in cash, if at all. Shame on McAlister's for not paying their staff enough and trying to beg a tip for their staff at the register before I even get my food. Silly. All in all, this visit was a big, smelly disappointment. 😒

First time trying McAllisters Deli and it was an OK experience. I went during rush hour and the line never moves! There are so many employees to take an order , but only 2 or 3 will take an order. Please fix this! Food was good only problem was the avocado being brown and the soup being watery…

Noooo McAlister's! Why have you forsaken me? Today I went in for a soft cranberry salad croissant and I was so disappointed 😭 I was definitely expecting a nice maybe warm super croissant and instead got a super dry and stale croissant 😭😭 I would love to have said the chicken salad saved it, but it didn't. The chicken salad tasted like cardboard. The only thing saving the favor were the cranberries but they were so few of them. Super disappointed, sorry!

This location is horrible. It has a foul smell, like urine , producer from the dirty towels they clean tables with. Counters and tables are always dirty and sticky. They’re always out of something, splenda, cups, to go plates. They didnt have to go boxes so they wrapped my sandwich and it was very soggy by the time i got home to eat it, and they forgot the pickle spear. What a waste of money.

Went in for lunch 11:30am food was great like always. But the restaurant was dirty. Floor is slippery sticky food on floor i more than sure they did not clean the night before or even before opening the deli. There is no excuse for this to happen. Dropping the ball, get it together McAllester

had to click on one star otherwise it won t let me post, but it doesn’t deserve a single star!!...ordered a spinach salad and after 3 or so minutes turned out they DIDN T have spinach. Really? a salad place and no spinach..had to settle for lettuce instead and half of the lettuce in the salad was the hard white edges of the lettuce with about 4 croutons and some crumbs, guess I also got the last croutons they had. The chicken shavings were poorly done, more like they just pulled the pieces of chicken and threw them in there. That had to be the saddest Caesar grilled chicken salad I have ever had. First and last time I go to that place!!

Employees show no customer service skills or even the desire to help the customer with suggestions or help . Then to pay the l $40 bill and even tip a counter employee,who did not help and even repeated the order 3 times and then still got it wrong. Then when I asked for a to go box I was questioned why I need one . So then I had to inform the employee that I needed one because I was up set because they did not help or even get my order right and I was to up set to eat . I believe due to the employees at this Mcalister it will be gone just like others who chose to hire people (employees) that do not care about customer sevice. I ordered our family meal through a delivery service, and 2 of the 4 meals were not right. I called and spoke to a manager. I explained that I was moving out of state, but the only offer on their part was to give me credit on my next order, which I cannot do (no restaurant near us). They would neither refund part of our order, nor send the correct order. I would not recommend ordering from this restaurant. Schlotsky's has superior customer service.

I highly do not recommend coming to Mcallisters. The AC is NEVER working in this location and I can never enjoy a meal here due to the fact that’s it’s so hot. I can’t imagine the work conditions that these employees go through. Also, i don’t appreciate the general manager. I can see how unprofessional and rude he can be with his employees. He mid interrupts them whenever they’re taking my order. I prefer the Mcallisters in Edinburg!

I just spent 45 minutes waiting on a small To Go order and they weren’t even busy. I saw four staff just standing there chatting it up. And Kayla who took my order just took my order and left after another customer came in complaining that her $300 order for a birthday party wasn’t ready. Oscar the Manager and Kayla delivered poor customer service and needless to say I will be taking my business elsewhere and recommend that you do the same.

I am shocked how the quality of this place has gone down badly. I was there for lunch today (Saturday 5/18 at noon) and the food was absolutely terrible. I ordered a Caesar salad and all I got was old lettuce with what tasted like mayonnaise. The chicken avocado blt was mostly spring mix with hardly any chicken. My bread was cold which I thought came toasted. My husband ordered the ultimate nachos and he got brown guacamole on it. I will never visit this place again and I wouldn’t recommend it either. If they cared about their customers and the business, then the quality of the food wouldn’t be this bad.

The woman with the green hair is extremely rude, lacks good energy, and has extremely poor costumer service. Not a "hello" or a "what can I get for you", nothing. She didn't even look me in the eyes as we were ordering. This has happened multiple times with this lady. I am surprised she still works here. I recently went with my kids to order lunch before heading to the movie .I placed my order and we proceeded to our table .30mins or so our food starts getting to.our table except for mine. My food never made it to the table so I asked for a refund on my food or item I ordered. Manager wasn't no where to be found, while up front they had a lunch rush and still wasn't able to be found .Very unprofessional management first and last time coming to this restaurant.

Someone NEEDS to fix the AC, I came in to enjoy a nice lunch with my family and was disappointed when it was very hot inside and i couldn’t even enjoy my food without hearing my kids complain. Also, the poor workers have to be under that heat for a long time! I couldn’t imagine.

I’ve always been a loyal customer to McAlisters. However, today when I had ordered the jalapeño turkey crunch and I forgot to mention my severe Avocado allergy and asked to get it remade with out it. The food is always good at any McAllister’s as is the atmosphere. Reason for a One star in service is this McAllisters scammed me out of $37.00. After placing my order I paid with my debit card only to be told that the transaction did not take on their end, but it did charge my account at my bank. So they asked me to insert my card again and that a credit would show on my bank account within 3 to five days. Well it didn’t, so I called them. They put me on hold and never came back on the line after fifteen minutes. I called back and no one answered the phone. What a lousy way to make a profit. Be aware if they try to scam you the way they did me!!!

I placed an online order at McAlister’s for a Spicy Turkey Melt with customizations (no bacon, no cheese, added avocado, jalapeños, onions, mayo, and spicy mustard on 9-grain bread). While the order was marked as “correct,” this is what I actually received: plain bread with mustard, a couple of onions/jalapeños, and thin turkey slices. No avocado, no effort in preparation, and honestly very disappointing for a $14 sandwich. I understand lunch hours can be busy, but that should never mean quality and accuracy go out the window. If I’m paying this price, I expect my order to be prepared properly and with care. This was not the quality I expect from McAlister’s.
