Service was very professional and they worked extra hard to make sure every detail was to our party’s satisfaction. Bone marrow appetizer was memorable as well as the hamachi crudo. Rosemary margarita was perfect. Every part of our meal was delicious and it was the best meal we have had on LI
We had an amazing meal celebrating our anniversary. The food was incredible - truly inventive, delicious and thoughtful. Service was fantastic. Cocktails wonderful. We drove here from NYC because we heard about 2 Spring and I’m so glad we did! We got the Parker rolls, duck (wow), foie gras mousse, bone marrow, steak, sorbet and s’mores sundae. Thank you! We’ll definitely be back again.
Hard to get reservations but definitely worth booking a few weeks in advance. Two Spring is the best thing that has happened to Long Island dining in a while. Add this to your list of restaurants on Long Island that easily match top chefs in Manhattan, Miami and Los Angeles. Menu is for those with a sophisticated palate. Fabulous Wine list. Hope that they remain successful and stay in Oyster Bay for years to come.
You’re not gonna find a restaurant in Long Island glass better than two Spring. I don’t know everything about wine but they’ve got a wine book that is extensive. Last week I had a 14 ounce New York strip steak that was absolutely perfect I didn’t leave even one scrap of fat or vein or anything on my plate it was cooked to perfection and delicious really delicious wow. Yeah one thing I could say that might be slightly less than perfect about the place is that they don’t have a tremendous selection of side dishes. But the drinks a good the appetizers and salads are phenomenal there’s a Caesar salad and there’s a mixed salad that are extremely delicious. They put up a scaffold last weekend they didn’t waste any time decorating it beautifully it looks like you’re at a wedding. I mean it’s a great time to take advantage of the florists and decorators and designers who are otherwise wanting work to do these days due to the fact that they have no parties to decorate and they have all these ideas and props to make your scaffolding into a work of art. It’s a chef driven restaurant and A very talented one at that.
I have been to 2 Spring a handful of times, and I have been blown away each time. Their menu changes fairly often so you will not have the same dishes over and over. Based on my dining experiences, it seems as though they take their time to perfect each and everything they make. The presentation, taste of the food, and the quality of their ingredients are unbeatable. In my previous visit, I had their Hamachi Crudo which is a delicious light bite, followed by my personal favorite appetizer, 'Bucatini & Clams', and for my entree, I tried their Pork Chop (pork is generally not my first choice for meat) which was fantastic! For dessert, I was recommended their take on s'mores which is described on their website as "spicy chocolate ganache, graham cracker ice cream, italian meringue". It was awesome! I would recommend everyone to try it at least once. Side Note: Their staff was very polite and knowledgeable about their menu. Definitely ask for their bread with butter which is made in house!
My experience at 2 Spring on Wednesday night was beyond incredible and truly exceeded all expectations! I made a note when making the reservation that we were celebrating a special occasion. I choose 2 Spring as my last restaurant on Long Island before moving to Italy. As soon as we entered the restaurant, all of the staff went above and beyond to make sure that our night was special! Our server, John, was so attentive to us all night and he is the reason we had such a memorable night! He was funny, warm, and personable. He also recommended great cocktails! The cocktail menu is by far the best on Long Island. The burrata and peach amuse-bouche was off the charts! The hamachi crudo was also excellent, as was the salmon entree. To conclude the evening, John brought me matcha green tea ice cream and put a candle in it! We wanted to stick with the matcha theme since my cocktail had matcha! Overall, this was one of the best and most memorable meals I've had on Long Island. The service was truly impeccable, the food was outstanding, and the ambiance is beautiful. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! When I return from Italy, I will definitely be back to 2 Spring! Thank you again John for making my last meal on Long Island so special!!!!
Had a delicious cod fritter over a lamb ragu. Didn’t think they would go together but the chef is clearly not afraid to let flavors through and the dish was fantastic. The spicy lobster was also excellent as was the fisherman’s pot. Very happy to have a NYC level restaurant in town. Excellent cocktails and beautiful space. Already made reservations for our next meal there.
I have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience here! My husband and I drove over on a whim - we were celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary - but wanted a great lunch to end a celebratory weekend! We wound up getting lunch at 2 spring on 11.12 - our real anniversary …. I’m currently pregnant and wanted some awesome food - but wanted hubs to enjoy some great cocktails as well. I have nothing but amazing things to say about our waiter John - from the moment we walked in he had amazing suggestions (we had a smorgasbord of a lunch haha) and even suggested a yummy mocktail for me so I felt like I was having a true sunday fun day! Every food item we got was amazing- and John made our experience that much better (I need to add that ALL the staff here is friendly & attentive ) we will definitely be back for dinner - and post baby when I can get a true skinny marg! Thanks John & rest of the crew! Best - steve & kristina montana
Dined at 2 Spring and opted for the 6 course tasting menu. Each course was exquisite and well thought out. Will be back soon!
Went with a party of 8. Reservation ran about 1/2 an hour late, but they took care of us by buying a round of drinks. Then we sat down and the person who took care of us (maybe the manager) was very attentive. The service was unbelievable. And the food was outrageously good. We did the price fix 4 course and let the manager choose all the dishes. Everything was exceptional. I can't wait to go back. It is not a cheap restaurant, but you definitely get what you pay for and I highly recommend it.
Very impressed with 2spring. Now we don’t have to drive to the city! My new favorite place to eat. Great food and very knowledgeable about wines. The hostess are very welcoming! We got a great warm greeting from the girls at the door! I will be coming back monthly!
Andrew made a great first impression for 2 Spring last year and he's the reason I continue to dine here. My favorite date spot - the customer service is exceptional, the drinks are always on point, and the food is incredible. I was in last night and the staff impressed me yet again. It's transparent Andrew's leadership, customer service skills, and knowledge of fine dining trickles down to all the team members here. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Best restaurant on LI. Makes me feel like I’m in NYC
It was a private party the service was excellent and the food terrific.
The drinks were great. It's a beautiful restaurant with a wonderful menu. The service was awesome. It's a good location right on main Street. I would definitely go back and highly recommend for any type of visit date/friends/family etc.
2 Spring is a great upscale date night location. Went on a brisk fall evening, sat indoors, staff was attentive and informative on the menu and wine. Ambiance and lighting was top notch, seating was a little tight for my liking but the room absorbed sound quite well, great music. I had the Pork Cordon Bleu, Rosted mushrooms, date ordered sea scallops, bucatini & clams. All as expected, I absolutely loved the mushrooms and am hoping the chef can add in morel's and other delicious items as the seasons change. Chocolate at the end was a nice touch. Thank you for an incredible night and experience.
Great food, beautiful dining room, great service - didn't rush us even though we came late on a Sunday evening. Fair warning - the portions are large, even if you do the prix fixe. Come hungry!
Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've been to in Long Island. Incredible food, drinks, and service. I've been here a few times before, and I had the pleasure of having my wedding here in May. I could not have imagined a better experience. All of our guests loved the place as well. We will be coming back regularly."
The food at 2 Spring is nothing short of delectable. We visited around 5 years ago and then recently for valentines day. I can without a doubt say, it was everything we expected it to be. We did the 4 course prefix and every single dish complimented the pallet. Chef came out with a few surprises too, which only added to experience. Brendan, our waiter, was such a great character and he was so on top of it. He made our valentines all the more special. I would highly recommend this place. Best food on the island in my opinion!
Food, service, and atmosphere were amazing. Everything was absolutely delicious. They made a great experience for my Wife's birthday and the rest of our party. Highly recommend!!!
The server was very knowledgeable and food was mouth watering. They offered a priced fixed 4 course meal which was incredibly worth it! The only thing was that everyone at the table had to do it, which isn't what everyone wanted. But absolutely go back and very interested in the chefs table(or what we assumed was the chefs table in the back). Great spot for special occasions.
This is the place! I came here for my mother in laws birthday with my wife. Let me tell you this was the best place I’ve been in a while. We did the 6 course tasting menu and had the wine pairing. The food and wine went perfect together and our server Pablo was very attentive. Everything was 10/10. Cocktails can easily be the best I’ve tried on Long Island better yet NY. The chef named Matt was amazing and we can’t wait to head to 4 spring to explore the adventure over there. Thank you 2 Spring!
This restaurant is very amazing and I have to leave a 5 stars review. I have tried so many pretentious Manhattan restaurants and none of them taste as good as this one. The table top selection is perfect, elegant and unique. The dessert is what makes it surpass other New American cuisine restaurants. The dessert is at a patisserie level. The roasted duck breast is soft and juicy and goes really well with the orange jam they make.
We spent our anniversary here recently and had such a wonderful experience. We sat in the beautiful atrium, and enjoyed every single dish we ordered - highly suggest doing the prix fixe! Our waiter, Anise, was so kind and went over the top to make sure we enjoyed our evening. We will absolutely be back.
Everything was excellent, balanced, and super fresh. I had seen the good reviews, but the meal was still above all my expectations, especially for brunch. The Hamachi crudo was paired with a perfectly balanced yuzu sauce and a surprisingly not boring toasted quinoa, the Cacio e Pepe was one of the best I’ve had, the egg yolk on top definitely added to the richness of the sauce. The Icelandic cod was cooked perfectly, with a crispy skin and creamy spinach, even though the caviar was not really necessary on top of an already great butter sauce. The only slight dish below everything else was the Peach cobbler, which was more like a Peach crumble, but the poached peaches were still quite good.
I'd be lying if I said this place wasn't pricey. I'd go with the expectation of spending approx $250 for two. Pricing aside, you'll be presented with an excellent dining experience, picture-esque food and flavors that will excite, even the hardest to please palette. The service is top notch, with extremely friendly and pleasant staff. The ambiance is inviting! I personally intend to make this place, a regular of mine. I couldn't speak any higher of the dining experience. Five stars across the board for 2 Spring - Oyster Bay Long Island.
Epic food alert! Just visited 2 Spring in Oyster Bay, NY, and wow, what an experience! It has been my favorite fine place for fine dining in Long Island area! The food is not just delicious, it‘s a work of art. Every dish is a surprise of flavors. The drinks? Each one is a unique blend of taste and creativity. The ambiance combines cool vibes with a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the service is nothing short of excellent. They have both Four Course Prix Fixe for $93 and Six Course Chef’s Tasting Menu for $125, that you can choose either you want. For anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience, 2 Spring is a must-visit. Your culinary journey awaits!
We sat at the bar waiting for a table and enjoyed the space and energy. Bartenders really knew their stuff and were quick. They had an extensive drink menu and we were happy to see such a nice rum selection. We were seated in the Atrium which was such a charming room with high ceilings, windowed walls and pretty tile floors. The food was interesting and very good!!!! The Smores dessert was exceptional. Check out the cool bottle light fixtures over the bar!
2 Spring is a total gem. The restaurant has two floors, a bar, and outdoor seating. I'm not sure if this is a new restaurant or recently renovated, but everything looks new. The interior is just beautiful and just spotless. The cocktails are some of the best I've had on Long Island. The drinks are extremely well thought out and original cocktails made with great spirits. All the drinks sounded very good but I only had the Smoke and Mirrors, a mezcal and amaro with lemon concoction, was so refreshing to consume. Nice smoke from the mezcal and complexity from the amaro rounded by the citrus, it was just so good. I meant to ask what the specific bottles used but simply forgot. For my main course I had the lobster tail with pork shoulder, oyster mushrooms, and corn. It wasn't the most harmonious "surf n turf" but all elements were truly delicious. And I really don't mean that as a huge criticism, it was and excellent dish it just was not perfect. But you know what was perfect, the lobster risotto. It was a special appetizer for the night and it was truly stunning. It was a quinoa risotto with green garlic and fava beans. I was very surprised by the amount of lobster in the dish, large chunks about a whole tails worth. It was one of the best things I've eaten in recent memory. Prices aren't cheap but they aren't too expensive, and totally worth the price. Menu prices are listed on their website. Food portions are not small and I can not stress enough the prices are worth the experience. This is definitely my new favorite restaurant on Long Island and I can not wait to go again.
Just what the Restaurant Doctor ordered for Oyster Bay! A much needed dining establishment finally landed here to draw people in from near & far to this somewhat sleepy hamlet. Been trying to go for dinner but prime time slots are never available, so opted for lunch. Beautiful SoHo-to-Paris style decor in a charming locale. Went with friends and we liked everything. Note: if you are allergic to something make sure whatever you are served is definitely not in the family of the food. Let me expound: Someone in our group is extremely allergic to parsley but was served chervil atop her veggie sandwich which, as it turns out, is a French parsley... therefore it had to be remade. The service was attentive and eager to please. We shared the Murray's cheese plate and my mushroom medley main course was delicious and flavorful. Parking can be a challenge, make sure to locate the municipal lots.
2 Spring If you’re looking for a dining experience that truly elevates your evening, 2 Spring in Oyster Bay is your destination—and then some. From the moment you step in, you know this isn’t just dinner, it’s a night to remember. Ambience & Setting Celebrate sophistication without getting stuffy: 2 Spring pairs an elegant interior (think custom marble bar, ambient lighting, rich finishes) with warm hospitality and a relaxed tone. The recent redesign reflects a nod to Oyster Bay’s coastal roots yet carries Manhattan-style polish. Whether you’re seated on the main floor or tucked away in the more intimate upstairs lounge, the space invites you to lean in, linger, and savor. Food & Beverage Led by Chef Jesse Schenker, the kitchen here makes the familiar feel fresh. Classic American foundations, re-imagined with precision and local, seasonal sourcing. From a standout mushroom preparation to the crisp-fried chicken dish that delivers unexpected layers of flavor, each plate strikes you as deliberate, thoughtful, memorable. The beverage program complements beautifully: a deep wine list, inventive cocktails—everything crafted to match the food and mood. Service & Experience What sets 2 Spring apart isn’t just the food—it’s how you feel while you’re there. The service team is polished yet genuine, attentive but never hovering. You get the sense they’re invested in your experience from the moment you sit down until your final bite. OpenTable reviews reflect that with near-perfect scores. Ideal For & Tips • Perfect for a special occasion: anniversary, celebration, date night—this place elevates the moment. • Make a reservation: this spot fills nicely, and it’s worth arriving with plans. • Dress smart-casual and bring the appetite: the tasting menu or a thoughtfully selected cropped menu will impress. • Ask about their seasonal highlights or what’s outstanding mid-week—these often bring surprising value. Final Thoughts 2 Spring is standout dining on Long Island. It bridges the gap between neighborhood comfort and fine-dining finesse with finesse. Elegant without being aloof, creative without being quirky just for the sake of it, and anchored by genuine hospitality. If you’re planning a memorable evening, you’ll walk out already thinking about your next visit.
From the moment we walked in, until our goodbyes, nothing but excellent service (with smiles )from the entire team at 2 Spring!! What an exceptional meal from start to finish! From the cozy indoor seating to the charming sidewalk dining, a must visit if you're in the neighborhood. Cocktails through desert, bite after bite left us amazed at what the chefs prepared. Exquisite plating and yummy fresh flavors we have us returning for more of the menu. A+ to all the staff, thanks for a wonderful evening!
Did you ever see a rating and say "HOW???? this is so contrary to my experience"? That's how I feel about anything less than 5 stars for 2 Spring. Our experience was delightful, thoughtful and delicious. The service from the door to the table was incredible. The food was delectable; I highly recommend the 4-course price fixe menu so you get a taste of everything. I cannot wait to come back!
So I am an event decorator and I decorated at 2 spring. I have to say the hospitality of the entire staff is more than 5 stars. From beginning to end they helped me make sure my client had the experience of a lifetime. Tim thank you to you and your entire staff for having me and assisting me in making my clients day.
December 20th I attended a birthday celebration with 15 of my family members, Frailyn was the main waiter. Frailyn delivered a Chateau like presentation with our meals. He kept his composure and maintain a top level professional demeanor, while fulfilling every 24 year old’s wild drink requests on the table. Frailyn in combination with Chef Jessie’s cuisine made our experience, exquisite.
Experienced the tasting menu without the caviar paring. A welcome introduction to fine dining. Service members were fluid with their roles but no one stood out. The 6 course tasting menu had adequate pacing but lacked continuity. Would be difficult to find anything wrong with this restaurant. Atmosphere was very comforting while the food left me very satisfied. A must try for locals but nothing that would deserve special notoriety.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 2 Spring is absolutely exceptional — hands down one of the best dining experiences on Long Island. The food is inventive and beautifully executed, with every dish bursting with flavor and finesse. The service is warm and professional, and the ambiance strikes that perfect note between elegant and relaxed. Whether it’s a special occasion or just a night out, 2 Spring always delivers a memorable experience.
Decided to eat here for my anniversary dinner on a Sunday night. Nice atmosphere in a side street just off the main drag in oyster bay. We opted for the 4 course pre-fixe for $105 which includes two appetizers, entree and dessert. We had oysters, bucatini with clams, cheese board and roasted mushrooms for apps, all good. Branzino and pork chop were up next, also quite tasty. Apple strudel was good tho the banana pudding was skippable. They comped us a champagne toast which was nice. Only ding is very limited wine by the glass menu. Otherwise, a solid choice for a special occasion dinner.
I’ve been to all of Chef Schenker’s restaurants several times! We’ve celebrated a birthday at 4, promotions, and a graduation at 2 Spring. We’re frequent fliers at Provisions Market. Best rotisserie chicken in the area! This restaurant group goes above and beyond with service and quality. Even Gimme burger hits the spot consistently! AND you can buy their gooey chocolate chip cookies and soft ass bread at Rising Tide Market! We love these restaurants!
What a special experience at 2Spring. From the minute we walked in the staff and service went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The service was perfect with attention to detail and personal touch. The atmosphere was classy, airy and fun but not too loud. They recently renovated their upstairs dining area which is comfortable and cool. The food was sensational starting with a bread selection that was off the charts. I ordered the Duck my wife the Halibut and our young daughter the fried chicken app. All amazing. One thing that also stood out - I ordered a glass of cab to come out with the dinner and the waiter actually brought out the bottle, gave me a taste etc. Never seen that unless you order a full bottle. Can’t recommend highly enough. And unlike Huntington which has great spots, here you can find a parking spot!
I loved everything about this place. It is astetically sophisticated, elegant, upscale, and beautiful. The service is outstanding. We were greeted by the Maitre D Andrew, who was absolutely accommodating and personable throughout the evening. Our server and bartender Antonio was truly wonderful and made excellent drinks and food recommendations. He was also attentive and created a very positive dining experience. Brian and Aiden were also fabulous. The food was extremely delicious, fresh, flavorful, and interesting. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic as well. The food was so good that I ordered a second entree of what I ate to take home to my wife. It was that good! I will definitely return sooner than later. It was a very special place for sure!
Dinner at 2 Spring was outstanding. Andrew planned a pick-your-own 4 course dining experience as a holiday season for the Mitlin team that exceeded our expectations. It was a truly enJOYable evening filled with amazing food, an attentive staff, and a environment welcoming! We will be back.
I can't believe I haven't been here before. First the place is so inviting. The outside area was beautiful. I can't wait to come back and eat there. We did the 4 course. Each course the food got better and better. Sam our waitress was terrific. She was very knowledgeable about all the food and her service along with all the others was exceptional. I would consider this an upscale experience and would go to celebrate an occasion. Looking forward to returning.
Great brunch! It was so nice to sit outside in the charming little back patio. The Bagel plate was surprisingly good: the nongreasy breakfast sausage was delicious! The shrimp salad sandwich was also great. Great staff too. We left something behind and they went out of their way to find it for us. Great brunch burger too! Enjoyed the outdoor dining with the furry throws and rustic decor.
Made it to brunch. The pilot light was out on the fryer when my wife and I visited. I saw the building under renovations over a year ago while attending the oyster bay festival. Overall, clean, modern and welcoming atmosphere. Wife ordered the aged beef burger. I had a bite and thought it was excellent. Lots of deep beef flavor and not greasy. Juicy as can be! I enjoyed the Cacio E Pepe. There were more flavors the more you ate. Peppery towards the bottom but mixed with the runny egg yolk, which made its way to the bottom of the bowl, flavors got better later into the dish, which i find unique. Will be going back for dinner. Hope the opening kinks get sorted. Place is booked pretty solid for weekend nights. Wish a house red wine is available at a modest price. I enjoyed my visit.
I have been here for both dinner and lunch, and while the portions are small, the quality and ingenuity of the food makes it worth the expense and difficulty to secure reservations. The lamb ragu was good, if not particularly remarkable, but the cod fritter was both well seasoned and cooked to perfection. In addition, the drink menu was interesting, but pricey. The decor and layout of the restaurant are perhaps it’s best quality, with floor-to-ceiling windows and exposed brick walls bringing in a modern, yet rustic ambience in a deceptively small setting.
Yes this year we went out for Thanksgiving. We decided to give this cozy Locale a try. Although a little pricey, the menu was rather fun . The caviar was delightful the steak was mouth watering and the fish was just perfect. along with fabulous wine pairings and excellent service , we had a very enjoyable experience and will be returning to give their dinner menu a try.
The restaurant is incredible but the service is pretty bad. This is the second time I’ve ate here and both times I was left without a drink for most of my meal. Literally both times they served me my second drink after the bill was paid. This is unacceptable for a restaurant with such high prices
A great place and atmosphere for family and friends. Service is great. Food is beyond average. I like the scallops and octopus a lot. The chocolate cake with chili flavor is a creative combination. Worthy trying. The menu has limited items for a brunch. A la carte or a three course PF for $69. No kids menu. Be aware of whether the item is spicy or not before you order for your kids. Generally a little overpriced.
Went here for brunch on a Sat. Got there around 12:30 and was able to get a table for 2 right away with no reservation. We left at 1:30 though and it was packed. Service was really good. Got the duck Bahn mi and lobster hash. Both flavors were amazing. The only problem was the bread of the Bahn mi left apart from the duck fat. Had to use a knife and fork. The food was so good so I was looking forward to dessert but they only offered ice cream dishes. Not ideal for January. It's a high end brunch spot but I think it was worth it. Gonna try dinner next time.
Cute restaurant with very nice environment. The portions were somewhat small, but when you do the four course dinner it all adds up to one meal. Was super disappointed with how rushy the staff was, not only were the pushy with ordering quickly, but as soon as we signed the checked (a rather expensive check) they made sure to let us know they needed the table now and we’d have to leave… We weren’t done with our drinks, nor did we have a second to digest before getting up. For a place that looks and acts so esthetically pleasing and “high end”, they sure know how to hurry people through and out. Disappointed, and probably wouldn’t go back or refer.
The ambience is great, feels like nyc vibes but it's in long island. However, it doesn't match with food. The food you'd expect to be amazing because they charge nyc prices but it's very underwhelming. Ordered the pre fix menu and got to try almost everything off the menu. Some of the dishes were ridiculously salty, completely taking away the taste of everything. I wouldn't go back.
One of those restaurants where the food is extremely expensive and you get very small portions. The food was good, service was even better, ambience was lovely. What upset me, was we ordered the tasters menu 5 course meal, and our server casually asked if we’d like to start with the caviar, me thinking it was one of the courses I said SURE meanwhile it was an extra $100 which I found sneaky honestly. For the 2 of us we spent $500 including tip. We def won’t be going back, but only because of our sneaky server. It’s worth a try if you’re curious, especially if you’re local.
We were very disappointed! Our server did t know what she was doing other than constantly Bringing the wine bottle over to pour. I had ordered the scallops and it was brought out without the remaining guests entrees, the server apologized with bringing over a rare breast of duck with horrible mash potatoes from the chef. I asked her to take my entree back and and the duck and bring the entree when the other entrees were ready to be served. Dinner was good. We will try it again as the manager gave us 3 gift cards after they messed up the check. Bringing it to the table and splitting it up! This was after I specifically spoke with the hostess, giving her my credit card and instructing her to put 20% gratuity on and not present the bill to the table! No birthday dessert was ever served. Noise level high. Some tables are so close the servers butts are to close for comfort.
We went for dinner recently, and had a kind of odd experience. The space is very well done, and I liked the design. Drink menu is excellent, and the cocktail I had was well above average. Upon ordering my girlfriend and I decided to skip appetizers and just order entrees. At that point the server said to us "Well, we really are a multi-course restaurant and your entrees might take long...." Huh? She was bordering pushy. Talk about odd. Some nights I want a salad or some nice crab cake to start....some nights I don't. I will say the entrees were very good (cod was excellent). But Jesus, if someone just wants a main course and maybe to save room for dessert, keep your mouth shut and just say thank you.
Just gotten way too expensive for what it is. Went to a two Michelin star restaurant in NYC last weekend and spent about the same or less for much better food. If price is what you pay and value is what you get, then there's no sense of value at this restaurant. I'm not against spending this kind of money to dine out, but you've got to be able to back it up with quality. Food is not bad at all, it's just not worth the price $$$$.
My second visit. Seems they charge as a first class restaurant but don’t meet the challenge. We were told the $69 pre fix included all entrees after we ordered steak we were told it was going to be $18 more. Ok but not done with class. $42 half Bronzino meaning one filet. Ok, we asked for the eggplant puree on the side, however, it was served alone in a plate no garnish or color or anything - just bland brown/grey puree on the side. So appetizing. A little garnish goes a long way, especially at the price. Definitely need to upgrade wine by the glass - in quantity and quality. It makes me sad because my first experience was promising. Likely won’t be back. There are so many other places the quality reflects the price.
Very noisy in the restaurant and we were not warned that we could not sit in the main dining room due to a special party taking up the entire downstairs. This was a special occasion for us and since our last excellent meal here during a farm to table event, we were excited to come back. Had I been informed of the chaotic and probably fun party overwhelming the bar and restaurant, we would have chosen another day. Prices are high. but we do not typically care if the food is special. But this time the food was quite below what we were accustomed to. Service was friendly but uniformed and lacking. For some reason they can not provide a list of wines by the glass with descriptions and pricing to the customer. We had the flatbread which was good. Tuna tartar, poor. Duck, quite excellent. Short rib, horrible and maybe worst I have ever tasted. ( I mentioned this to the manager but he was so busy with the party that I do not think he heard me.) Also the roasted carrots were good. Overall a bit surprised we were not given some small consideration given the fact that we could not celebrate our special occasion in the beautiful dining room as we had expected.
Unfortunately, this restaurant does not nearly live up to the level it appears to be aiming for (and certainly is priced for). Several of the dishes were well conceptualized but arrived lukewarm, as if having sat for a long time before being brought to us. Most dishes were overly salted — an inducement to drink more, perhaps? The one truly excellent dish was the hamachi crudo, but the portion size was almost humorously tiny. And frustratingly the menu is packed with upsells (as soon as we sat down, the server actually tried to sell us on a third unlisted “elevated” menu without mentioning the price, before turning to the actual menus we’d been handed and saying consolingly something along the lines of, “of course all this stuff is great too.”) One of the dessert options is a somehow a pancake with caviar and foie gras, which sort of tells you all you need to know. (And speaking of value, the 3oz of port are priced nearly as much as 750ml bottles.) I support the idea of ambitious and exciting (even if that means expensive) restaurants on Long Island, and perhaps 2 Spring was once that, or could be one day. But right now it unfortunately fulfills the cynical stereotype most people have of fine dining: A money grab.
The overall experience was a 6/10, food was not that good especially for the price and they didnt have much of a selection but the bread as a starter was amazing and the service was absolutely amazing my server was marco and he was very efficient and got things done quickly, as for the food, there was too much going on. my porkchop was literally raw (They gave me a free dessert to make up for it) there was way too much going on with the half chicken, flavours were too intense and made it unpleasant but service was amazing
Beautiful place, food, and drinks were excellent (with an exception of an undercooked pork chop), service was subpar for the price point. Unfortunately will not likely be returning as they were too inattentive and slow. I understand our waitress was covering most tables and staffing is an issue most places, however a place that is trying to be a certain caliber should always ensure adequate staffing. I would’ve given 2.5 stars if possible..
Maybe it was an off day but the service and attention to detail was off. The major issue was that a pasta course was served barely warm when it should have been hot. It clearly had been sitting on the counter until my partners meal was ready to be served. Of course the waiter was then not around and it took quite awhile to grab somebody. To their credit they did cook up a new serving but it took awhile and the flow of the meal was off. They could have tried to make amends by offering a drink or a dessert. But nothing was forthcoming. They were not apologetic in any way. Of this was the local dinner I would understand but a for a Resturant that is trying to be first class, it’s unacceptable.
Not worth it - Very pricey food, small portions and bad service sum this place up. Notified the restaurant through opentable that we were celebrating an anniversary and requested a special table. Instead, we were seated on the second floor directly next to an incredibly rambunctious party of 8. Really? Server suggested we move to a quieter place - another table opened up and we asked to move. It took us 2.5 hours to finish dinner. Took 30 minutes to get our first drink order. 20 minutes to get coffee. By the end, we were one of the last tables still seated and we just wanted to get out of there. A manager shook hands with the tables around us (ignored us) and they seemed to get prompt service - so if you know someone here, then it'll probably be worth it for you? Otherwise skip it and go to Manhattan.
Food was good but the service was not - our water cups were empty half the time, took plates before we were finished, did not bring a candle or acknowledge the birthday we were there celebrating (both the hostess and server were aware of this) - would expect better service for the price and atmosphere.
2 Spring offers a welcoming ambiance and exceptional service, but its chefs tasting menu fell well short of any expectations i had heading over there. As parents of young children, my spouse and I look forward to exploring new dining experiences every few months, and we drove 40 minutes with high hopes for a memorable evening. Unfortunately, the culinary execution did not meet the mark. The staff deserves high praise. From the moment we arrived, the host greeted us warmly, and the waitstaff was attentive and professional throughout the evening. The bartenders also shone, crafting cocktails and mocktails that were thoughtfully balanced and delightful, although delivered post first course. My cocktail was a highlight, bursting with nuanced flavors, while my spouse’s mocktail was equally well-executed, offering a refreshing and sophisticated encounter with the sub-par food. The tasting menu itself was a significant disappointment. Of the six courses, only the duck stood out as a flavorful and well-prepared dish. The remaining four courses lacked depth, arriving in portions so small they felt more like amuse-bouches than substantial offerings. The wine pairings were similarly underwhelming. While the wine paired with the duck was a standout, the other selections appeared to be sourced from inexpensive, screw-top 2024 bottles—wines that retail for under $10. This choice felt incongruous with the fine-dining experience the restaurant claims to deliver. The dessert provided a partial redemption, with a pleasant combination of ice cream and meringue. However, it leaned too heavily on the ice cream, and a greater emphasis on the meringue’s delicate texture would have elevated the dish further. Reflecting on the evening, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I could have replicated four of the six dishes in my own kitchen, with better flavours—a letdown considering the time, effort and squandered capital in the visit. While the staff’s warmth and the bar program’s excellence deserve recognition, the lackluster flavors and minuscule portions of the tasting menu overshadowed the experience. For a restaurant with such ambition of promise, I hope the kitchen reconsiders its approach to ensure future diners leave with a more satisfying impression.
Food was average far below expectations for the price. Small place with very mediocre service. Maybe my expectations after hearing great things but we were disappointed just was expensive without delivering.
My friend and I stopped by at around 5pm for a cocktail as the place looked so pretty. It was clear they did not want us there despite us being well dressed and respectable. We did not have a reservation, but there were very few patrons , maybe they were expecting an influx of customers ? Cocktail was decent but very pricey for what it was. We literally had 3/4 full glasses and they asked us if we wanted the cheque. The waiter was nice and almost appeared to overcompensate for the general rude vibe of the place .
Celebrating my son getting engaged. Food varied in quality. The steak that my son and I had was disappointing. Service was good but seemed rushed . Then after we finished desert and I paid a sizable bill with a generous tip we were immediately asked to leave because they needed the table . . We will not be coming back
What a big problem the chef/owner is! So full of himself and over priced food for it. Don’t waste your time and money. It’s a good location with decent food on Long Island but with an owner who thinks they are on the level of a Manhattan location/restaurant night out. The wait staff are great. The food is good however over priced. The chef/owner is an unfriendly and unprofessional man. Not worth the effort
Very overpriced considering mediocre quality of the food. Shrimp were small and dry, hamachi was bad, burrata was ok but tiny, bread was good (one slice per person). At least the waiter was nice and friendly.
Biggest waste of time and money. We ordered the 6 course tasting menu. It was so bad that after 3 courses we asked for dessert and the check. The seafood spaghetti had 3 pounds of salt dumped in it and the dessert was cocoa crispies on top of ice cream for $450. It was the worst food ever.
A very disappointing Thanksgiving dinner. I was embarrassed to have booked it. Very high prices for not a gourmet meal. Several of our party ordered soup - the portions barely covered the bottom of the bowls. My Turkey dish (Thanksgiving, right?) consisted of 3 lonely pieces.
Recently had a birthday dinner with a friend. We ordered 2 casamigos over a large cube with lime juice. The bill came and my friend noticed each drink was 38 dollars. Just for casamigos over a large cube with lime juice. 86 dollars for two. My friend asked the bartender is that normally the price? Her response was wellllllll it’s really popular so we charge a premium. My friends I and certainly don’t mind paying for stuff, however, that response was completely ridiculous. I’m a local and I’m definitely not going back after that comment. Thanks, but no thanks.
Once they have your phone number, this restaurant group will use it. The food was good, but not worth getting ads via text for their restaurants/grocery stores
