My wife and I had our first experience here the other day for lunch. We stumbled across it after a different restaurant we wanted to visit wasnt open. We were so happy it was closed after coming here. The bartender was great, our drinks were well made and not overly strong. The food was excellent. We tried a range of appetizers and each had a main and everything from start to finish was amazing. Already planning on coming back for my fathers birthday next week. Cant wait!
The stars say it all! The staff is so attentive, kind and honest about food selections (I love that) and the food is amazing. My fave is the scallops on risotto, along with an appy of shrimp cocktail. Yum! Lastly, manager Fred was super great and even seated me when it was getting a bit late since I was coming from work. Thanks all! I'll be back very soon!
One of the best meals I have had in quite a long time, compliments to the chef big time, not to mention the staff extremely professional, friendly and very accommodating. The manager Fred is completely hands on helping with service in addition to going above and beyond to satisfy the customer. Our waitress was very attentive and so sweet, after realizing an error in our food order when it came out they all went above and beyond to make it right, buying us a drink and offering dessert. First time at this restaurant it will not be the last, yes a lil pricey but the quality of the food worth it and again the staff well worth it as well!!! compliments to the owner for having such a great group of people running his restaurant!!
It was an amazing experience to celebrate my girlfriend's 40th birthday at Drift 82 (birthday girl's choice). The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff is beyond nice and accommodating. The food was so fresh and delicious and so were the drinks. The view is amazing particularly in a clear night like yesterdays. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to have a good time and not feel rushed.
We had the Bok Choy salad with Tuna and Calamari. It was amazing and a very reasonable price for the portion.
Went with my family of 10 of us on Sunday night and could not have had any better of an experience! The food was perfect as always, and our server, Payton, was phenomenal! Even with her handling a few other tables, we never had to wait or waive her down! Absolutely one of the best servers I have ever had at any restaurant! Everything the restaurant did only made our birthday celebration that much better! Great place, and one of my favorites to go to for sure!
Food, service, the vibe, everything was absolutely amazing. Do yourselves a favor and plan an evening. Ill probably be back for another visit this weekend
We went there on Easter my family was delighted food was delicious and the restaurant was very clean and pretty, our servicer was Oliva she was nice polite and was quick very happy we went ! We will be going back when the warmer weather comes so we can sit outside and listen to live music
I love this place! Introduced it to so many people, who fell in love with it as well! Always a great experience! I have my favorites there. Never disappoint me! Consistency in quality of food and service made me a huge fan! Plus...the ambience is lovely. Highly recommend!
The best! Drive thru and eat in experience’s were top shelf. Staff amazing. Bar drinks fabulous. Great atmosphere great food and very celebratory environment on halloween. Amazing.
The marinated steak tidbits were delicious, along with the garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed asparagus, made for a great meal. And the grilled peach margarita was so good!!
Love this place. Food is always fresh, the specials are always great and they have amazing drinks. It's right on the water so it feels like you're away on vacation
I was there this past Saturday with 24 people and the experience was AMAZING! The manager Christine was unbelievably professional and accommodating and our server Brianna was absolutely phenomenal! I would recommend Drift 82 to anyone that enjoys eating by the water, listening to live music (that didn't play so loud we couldn't hear one another) and having a great meal!
Went in for a late celebratory birthday dinner on a Monday evening.. The place was pretty well attended. The food was superb we had nothing bad. The calamari was fresh the lobster bisque was perfect. My Chilean sea bass came came over garlic mash topped with a small onion tower.... it was delightful. This place is definitely a gem hidden hidden along is the Patchogue shores shores.I am looking forward to returning.
The food was delicious, and the service was slow. But, we got free drinks for waiting. The atmosphere was great sitting outside under the umbrella. I would go again.
Soup was amazing and had clams and steak tid bits for apps. I had the lobster roll for lunch. Everything was delicious. I also went for dinner and had Mahi over risotto which was the best. Waitress was very friendly and accommodating. Desserts was so good. When I went for dinner there was a one man band outside and the atmosphere of the water and the boats going back and forth was very nice to hear and see. I would definitely recommend this place.
adult atmosphere by day by the water very romantic whether it's day or night for a couple pet friendly for lap dogs only or service dogs registered.
LOVE this place! Great food, amazing staff and beautiful views of the water. They hosted a bridal shower for my best friend and did an awesome job..the waitresses were lovely, made sure our glasses were never empty and catered to all our needs. Fred was more than accommodating, I would definitely recommend this place to host your special occasion. Also a great restaurant for a nice dinner, quick bite and cocktail or just to chill outside and watch a sunset. I will be back soon!
Every time I come here I am just so blown away.. I love the food, drinks, people, everything about this place!! One of my favorite places to eat on Long Island. I always order the scallops and risotto, and watermelon martini’s. I also recommend the seafood tower and lobster ravioli’s. yum!!!
This seafood here is delicious - there is no wrong choice. The restaurant is nestled right along the water with stunning views and delicious food.
This place is an absolute gem great for the summertime always has great music and the outside bartenders are spectacular. Always ready to give you a good suggestion for a good drink. I have only had a handful of items on the menu and they have all been very good I have not eaten inside or experienced the inside bartenders but I'm sure they are just as great. Can't wait and to be here for many summers to come!
Such a fun atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. Valerie was our waitress and she had the best recommendations and helped make our night even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back!
Went here last night with my best friend. We got the coconut shrimp and artichoke spinach dip. They were both amazing. The coconut shrimp didnt have a strong coconut flavor to them which is ok because I personally dont like coconut. Caitlin our waitress was very sweet and was very attentive to our drinks. Her service was fast and we didnt wait long for our flavorful coctails. If your looking for a good cocktail menu and outdoor seating check out Draft 82.
The bartender Brendan was fantastic, the service and welcome were welcoming. The food was excellent. The ambiance was phenomenal.
Food was delicious! I had the pan seared scallops with asparagus risotto, so yummy. The others had halibut and tuna steak and everyone enjoyed their meals. Also watermelon martini was super good. Would definitely go back to try more.
What can I say this is my favorite spot you can't go wrong with her awesome food they opened up for Valentine's and I went there just to meet some of my friends they had a special! Blacken shrimp over Quinoa and avocado .. it was so yummy and the perfect portion.. I enjoy the atmosphere and my taste buds always get surprised.. plus the staff are super genuinely nice.. I even got a rose before I left 😊
This is a restaurant where you won’t mind spending a Day or Evening out FOOD excellent. Service with a smile Music relaxing and like I wrote before Last week at OAR House we sat at the bar and the waitress didn’t Rembrandt what she poured into the glasses so she SMILED all 3 of the DRINKS in front of us. DISCUSSING we couldn’t even finish our drinks😡 but we still paid $186 & tip food HORRIBLE service ZERO wrote them they couldn’t even care. Here everyone cares EXCELLENT experience…. 10 out of 10 👍👍👍👍👍🥃🥃🥃🥃 ENJOY we had Steak tidbits and Spinach Dip. Watermelon Martini everything Excellent and Moscow Mule👍👍👍👍
Definitely worth the journey to Patchogue. The restaurant is exactly what you want during the Long Island summer. Food and service was fantastic. The outdoor seating area is lovely. The live music was also a great touch for a Monday. I definitely will be back and glad I read about it in Newsday.
Hung out in the outside bar! What a phenomenal experience. Live music, and you can’t beat the vibes. The lobster roll was packed with meat and delicious. But what really made our experience memorable was. The Service. The bar was full and the Bartender Marty was on his game. He was attentive, extremely knowledgeable and can make a phenomenal drink. The service at Drift is what sets them apart from every where else.
Went for appetizers, had tuna tartar, absolutely delicious. Then my wife and I each had mussels. WOW, the size of the platter that came out was very large. Also was delicious. So worth the $$. Will definitely be going back.
Delicious food and drinks .More than that ..our perfect server Valerie .She was just awesome very courteous attentive even though it seemed like they had less staff she was smiling and on top of everything .The lamb chops were sooo good cant wait to go back and thank you Valerie for making it a memorable warm experience
Went for Mother’s Day. There’s plenty of parking (pay to park in big lot) and right by the water. Had the lump crab cakes and coconut shrimp appetizers, both delicious. Followed with some drinks which were strong and tasty. Yazmine was our server and she was very good. I had the surf and turf special, both were cooked very well! She had the lobster Mac and cheese, and cleaned the plate! Highly recommend for a nice view and good food!
The vibe here is spot on! Came for a double date with friends and we all really enjoyed it. The view, the music, the cocktails, the service were all lovely. There was a little snag with the kitchen and part of my meal but our server, Yasmin, handled it so well that I didn’t even mind. She was phenomenal!
I’ve tried a lot of restaurants and Drift 82 has, by far, the best yellow fin tuna around. Always great food, nice atmosphere and often live music. Awesome choice for south shore dining.
Drift 82 has great food, exceptional water views, and are doing things very safely for all patrons. The live music in Summer was a nice touch. Go just before sunset and you won't be disappointed 👍🌅 UPDATE: Returned Feb2021 for the winter igloo and had an extremely pleasant experience. Food amazing and igloo is like your own private dining experience; well worth the igloo fee ❄
Had a lovely lunch with a good friend outside under a tent. Our server was pleasant and friendly. The food was amazing and the drinks were cold. Highly recommend ***** Back to Drift today 7/13, and I wouldn't change anything on my review, except that our bartender Brianna was a gem. She was personable and made an awesome Long Island ice tea!
The bartender, Marty, took great care of us. Happy hour at the bar is from 4 to 7, and all the beers are just $5. Other drinks are discounted as well, see photo. The steak tidbits, a meal in itself l, were delicious. Today was a warm, so many patrons sat outside with the water view. The bathrooms were clean. Parking is also available in the parking lot at Davis. Park ferry, which is right next door.
What a day we had, is an understatement Last Thursday,Sept 4th, 2025, was one for the books I showed up at Buoy 35, in Blue Point, for a 1 PM lunch, at around 12.30, my typical "30 minutes before reservation", to make sure everything is going in the right direction ... I made the reservation about a month ago I had called them twice, to reconfirm our reservation for 20 people, on Wednesday, and the day before.. Nadda, nuttin, zilch, no answer But, anyhow, shortly after I showed up, a fellow Luncher arrived, not far behind me At least I had a witness, as to what was about to unfold. As I pulled up, the was a large Beer truck taking up way too much space, in their parking lot But, I squeezed my car into the lot, parked the car, then called them again, as something felt amiss, as there were no cars already in the parking lot, not from Employees, or anyone else.. Kind of odd, as they open at 12 noon .. The beer delivery guy knew as much as we did, as he first said he was just delivering beer to the back door... When he went back there, he saw a note that said they were closed for the day,.. and for him to lock the gate, as he left So, I'm in a quasi panic, as 18 other people were on their way to this place for lunch I immediately called Drift 82, in Patchogue to see if they could handle 20 people for lunch, on a 20-30 minutes notice She put me on hold, for one of the the longest 30 second pauses, in my "being on hold" history She returned to say, Yes, but, we had to sit inside LOLOLOL I would have kissed her right there, if she were closer .. As my heart rate decreased to an acceptable level, I popped another Metoprolol, and a 162 aspirin, thanked her, and told her to be on the lookout for some very confused people.... She chuckled I asked my fellow luncher to start calling others, any of the others, that she had phone numbers for, then to please go to Drift 82 and wait for people, as I would try my best to contact everyone else, by phone, from in front of Buoy 35. I also, quickly sent out a group text, informing everyone of our dilemma, but was unsure, who was even able to read it, to know to go to Drift 82, as they were probably driving So, I diligently started calling people, individually.. Seven people into the phone calls, 5-6 more Lunchers showed up at Buoy 35, and I directed them over to Drift 82, others had seen the group text I sent out, and had already headed over to Drift 82.. Auspicious start to a lunch, wouldn't you say ??? lol In any case, our Lunch at Drift 82 was wonderful They are so friendly, the food is good, plentiful, and tasty .. The setting is very "Long Island" in the Summer, with the boats going back, and forth, and the working Marina, across the canal The waitress, Marie was great, and I will write her boss a special note about her service If Marie's bosses are reading this, please giver her a raise !!!! It pays to stay calm, in the face of mistakes made by establishments No yelling, screaming, do you know who I am? attitude , just move on... They will float to their own water level There's plenty of places who do right by customers.... Drift 82 is definitely one of them. Our group never goes into "Karen" mode They took everything in stride, and just moved on, like nothing happened The Buoy faux pas was barely mentioned at Lunch We had a very pleasant lunch, with the normal banter, and conversations After Drift 82, we went to The Oar, for Happy Hour, one of the best Happy Hours in that area.... Can't wait to do again Our #88th Meal together, in the books
I had an amazing experience at Drift 82! The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful — every dish was cooked to perfection. The highlight of the evening, aside from the delicious seafood, was the bartender. Not only were the cocktails creative and perfectly balanced, but the bartender also made the experience fun and welcoming with great recommendations and outstanding service. It’s rare to find a place that nails both food and drinks so well. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to again and again!
The bartender Mike was very attentive, and gave us some good explanations on the portion sizes and different foods offered here. In my opinion, the appetizer menu was more exciting than the entree menu. My boyfriend and I mostly ended up ordering a couple different appetizers, plus a lobster roll. We got the Casino Clams, Lamb Chops, Steak Tidbits, Mac and Cheese, Waffle Fries plus the Lobster Roll. He even brought us a side of Old Bay to sprinkle on top. The appetizer portions were generous, and we were extremely pleased with our service here. Definitely the perfect spot to grab a drink and food on a summer afternoon in Patchogue. I would definitely come back again.
It was a brutally hot day and we decided to ride in an a/c car and head east to Drift 82. Heard good reviews and wanted to take a nice ride, have lunch and be by the water. Drift 82 did not disappoint. Greeted warmly, no wait for a table (it was during the week and school was still in). Casey was our gal and the service and food were totally delightful! She was attentive, professional and the food and wine choices are excellent. Here are some photos - sorry, the burger photo my husband couldn’t ‘wait’. We enjoyed our time there very much. I can imagine when summer time hits full time - this place will be totally hopping! Drift 82 will be a repeat. Come on down and enjoy! Thank you Casey!
We visited 7/14/24 on a Sunday since it was Live Music Reggae Sunday 4-7pm. Loved the band from Brooklyn NY. They played a lot of amazing oldies. Excellent Ambiance. Spectacular service. Jackie was an amazing server. She Suggested drinks and food menu items. Everything was delicious. No rush service chill vibes. Water front property. We loved it. Haven’t stopped telling family and friends at work this morning about what great service/ambiance and our AMAZING SERVER. We will be back before summer ends. Thanks..
Drift 82 in Patchogue is an absolute gem of a restaurant that offers an unparalleled dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that is both elegant and cozy. But what truly sets this restaurant apart is the breathtaking views that you can enjoy while you dine. As we sat down to enjoy our meal, we were immediately struck by the stunning vista that stretched out before us. The sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the water and the surrounding landscape. It was the perfect backdrop for the delicious food that was about to come our way. We started off with the caprice salad, which was a delightful mix of fresh tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful. Next up was the carpaccio on the wedge salad, which was a true work of art. The thinly sliced beef was tender and flavorful, and the crisp lettuce provided a refreshing contrast. But what really made our meal at Drift 82 so special was the attentive and friendly service. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, and the entire staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend Drift 82 to anyone looking for a truly exceptional dining experience. The food, the views, and the service are all top-notch, and it's the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a delicious meal with friends and loved ones. Came spur of the moment in a beautiful day. Wanted something outdoors on the water. Found this place on yelp and so glad we did. The clams on the half shell, crab cakes and spinach dip were really really good. The carpaccio was really nice but needed more of a dressing. The drinks were delicious too. We will definitely be back. The service could've been alot better but we're understanding how hard it is to find good help these days.
Great Place by the water. Beautiful views Ferry Access to Fire island! Our personal favorites are Steak Tidbits moist melt in your mouth Caesar Salad Fried Calamari Sweet and spicy Calamari TNT Salad Best spinach and artichoke dip ever! Burger and waffle fries We could go on! Blue balls mixed drink is to die for! Great Atmosphere! Lunch and dinner menu Live music Outside seating and bar area
Amazing dinner, Incredible views, impeccable service. I recommend the marinaded steak tidbits, chilean sea bass and porterhouse pork chop. Absolutely phenomenal, can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend making a reservation, as we did online, very easy and efficient. It was definitely needed, we arrived for our 6:30pm reservation and the place was packed. The staff were super friendly which made the experience enjoyable. I dont recall my waiters name but she was an absolutely sweetheart and I appreciated her recommendations. The restaurant owner goes the extra mile to satisfy their clients and make sure things goes smoothly 👍👌
Staff was nice and helpful. After our party was seated with half of us in direct line of the sun, they realized our discomfort and were able to move us to a better area without us asking. We all ordered different entrees. In all cases the food was fantastic and prepared exactly as asked. The only downside was a band that was overly loud, to the point where even the servers had difficulty hearing us.
Great atmosphere. Fun place. Food was awesome. Would definitely go back.
Excellent service & atmosphere. Garden salad was huge and fresh. Steak tidbits were perfect! Appetizers of clams casino and coconut shrimp were very good, but over priced and what I call, "Art on a plate." We will definitely return, but will skip the apps.
Atmosphere was great. Food was okay. I thought it would be a lot better. I heard from somebody else they felt the same way. Cool spot to hang out though
Food was very good - great lobster bisque. Nice ambience/ definitely returning.
The food was great, along with our server! At 1st, they tried to seat us at a table that was too small & the hostess seemed to be annoyed to move us. Besides that, great place! Already have plans to go back!
We really liked Drift 82. Only reason for 4 and not 5 stars was I felt the menu could've offered just a little more. The place wasn't packed by any means but I could see if it was, parking could be an issue here. We skipped appetizers and went right to ordering entrees. The lobster mac was good but could use more lobster. The sauce was creamy and had a great cheddar flavor. The lobster stuffed ravioli was just okay and my nephews chicken fingers were perfect. My sister in law opted for the lobster bisque, she said it was delicious and the Caesar salad which was huge! I decided to just go with the calamari. That too was delicious, wonderfully crisp batter over succulent squid and the marinara sauce was very good. After seeing another tables order of scallops being delivered I realized that was what i should have ordered. It normally would have been, but when the chef came over to go through the specials with us, his lackluster description just couldn't get me there. Everyone agreed the drinks were cold and tasty and the usual offerings of dessert, cheesecake, tiramisu etc just didnt ring any bells so we declined dessert. All in all, a great place to stop in for dinner. They had a live one man "band" who sounded pretty good but the acoustics weren't great and honestly, this place had some incredibly loud diners. If you're in the area and have a hankering for seafood, in a place on the docks, Drift 82 is it.
Came here on a Friday evening, should have made reservations. Sat at the seats next to the Tiki Bar, had an extremely limited menu (maybe 5 items and the rest raw bar.) Had the steak tidbits and calamari, both were very good. They had a band playing as well. Will go back, and make reservations first. Nice spot on the water with good food.
The Shrimp Cocktail was good colossal sized shrimps very tasty. Had the oven Chicken with mashed potatoes very flavorful chicken, was perfectly seasoned. The outdoor setting was lovely with a great outdoor band. What a great way to spend the last few days of summer. Definitely going back!!
Dinner with friends. Outdoor seating was awesome facing the Marina. Food was fresh and tasty. My Seabass dish was really nice. The scallops my friend had was equally tasty, not rubbery, cooked to perfection. Only drawback was the service which was extremely slow. We had Calamari starters which was yummy then had to wait almost 40 mins for our entrées. Other than this, I’d say definitely worth a visit for the scenery and fresh tasting seafood.
Went here today to eat lunch. I had a grilled chicken sandwich and fries. The chicken tasted and smelled old. It was not good at all. However, my husband had calamari, wings and a burger and he really enjoyed his food. So I have to go down the middle with this one on the food. The restaurant itself is nice but the parking is kind of small and tight but you can park at the public parking lot right next to it as well. I just wish their chicken wasn't old.
After hearing amazing things about the place, we decided to go for our anniversary lunch. Sat outside which was nice- great weather. Diana was a very good server. Husband loved the seared tuna appetizer and the tuna tartar he got. My dishes were all mostly misses, I’m afraid. Lobster bisque was really bad. We order this wherever we go, including in New England. Tasted like straight butter and cream- couldn't even taste lobster/seafood stock and zero trace of sherry…barely ate it. PEI mussels were so so. Huge portion but the sauce was flavorless. Another dish I order all the time from other restaurants, and this one fell very short. The spinach salad with goat cheese was okay- dressing tasted like a low end Kraft type grocery store dressing- weird after taste. Added steak on salad which was a huge portion and pretty tender, but flavorless- tasted like plain steak with zero salt or pepper seasoning.
Hit-or-miss expensive beach bistro plates. Was served almost frozen clams, with an okay drink. The entrées we saw go out looked messy, and the live music is way too loud to be having dinner guests.
Food was really good. The waitress Diana was sweet. BUT for 6:30pm reservations on a calm thursday, not being served food until 8:25pm was really rough. Around 8:15pm we were offered stale bread. Other tables have come and gone. We felt like we were forgotton. My friend was so upset. No way to celebrate a birthday. We were offered complimentary dessert. Again, the food was really good. But I don't think I'd go back here again. At least not if I was hungry.
We’ve always enjoyed Drift and have brought many friends and family there over the years, so it’s disappointing to share this experience. We came to celebrate my birthday, but after waiting nearly two hours for our entrées, we ended up asking for the food to-go. Our server was kind and did her best, but the kitchen was clearly overwhelmed. What stood out most was the complete lack of acknowledgment from management. Having worked in the service industry myself, it was surprising that no one stepped in to address the delay. I ended up eating a lobster roll on the couch at 9:45pm, not quite the birthday dinner I had imagined. I really hope this was just an off night, as we’ve always loved coming here.
Don't get the porterhouse porkchop - so dry! Paid like $40 for a porkchop I could have overcooked at home; I'm not sure what waas "porterhouse" about it. It was served with an appley-chutney on top that didn't combat the dryness. Also don't get the fettucine with shrimp and scallops which is what my wife had - about $40 for a watery bland sauce lacking in flavor and seasoning, the only good thing was that the shrimp and scallops were cooked well. Even after adding a ton of cheese, it was meh. Everyone else at the table got mahi mahi and liked it. I told the waitress about it; she should have gotten us a desert to share or comped a drink... not sure I'd go back or recco it to other folks, tbh - sad experience as we've been going there since covid lockdown too. Would have added a star to the service if they acknowledged the miss on the food.
The welcome was very lukewarm. However the bartender and my server made up for it. Nice ambiance, excellent food great drink options
Have to say I’m disappointed with having to do this. I had great service and food, but the billing was an issue. My credit card was discharged and when I reached out to the restaurant they stated no management was present….took all of my information…and never called me back. I disputed this with my credit card and lost my dispute because we didn’t have the receipt because of today’s technology. Maybe someone will return my call now!!!
Went to drift for the first time today I’ll start off with the good. The staff simply amazing polite and professional special shout out to our waitresses Paulina and Peyton(apologies for misspelling). The music, views and general vibe were great. The food unfortunately was mediocre at best. The coconut shrimp were undercooked and and baked clams were lacking flavor. My wife’s dinner scallops and risotto was tasty but my steakhouse burger was over cooked. Hopefully this was just my experience and not the norm.
Drinks were pretty. My bloody Mary was way too peppery, but they did accommodate me asking for shrimp, olive, and a bit of bacon for a price, but my friend enjoyed her wine. The soup was good, but the taco's were over seasoned on the protein. There was no handicap parking either. Not 1 spot for handicap! The walk into the restaurant was all cobblestone/rocks.our servers were fantastic from who say us and so on.
Great location. Ellen super waitress. Made great suggestions and provided great service. Views of boats on busy river were beautiful. Seafood tower was very good except for the mussels. They were very soft and taste was not right. Calamari also did not taste right . Steak bits were very good. Was not a big fan of dumplings. Desserts the cheese cake was good. Food was very average service was great atmosphere was also great. Nice bar.in and out.
The servers were sweet but they brought out the wrong food at first. The person I was with ordered sea bass and they tried to serve him scallops. I had the duck and got food poisoning! Drinks were great and the overall atmosphere was ok. Definitely not a place I'll personally go back to. If you do go be careful of what you order!! You don't want to get sick in the parking lot like I did!!
The food, waitstaff, and atmosphere here are excellent, but my experience with the manager completely soured the visit. We docked our boat quickly without tying the lines because it looked crowded, and we wanted to ensure there was a table available for our party of five. In the rush to jump off the boat, I left my flip-flops behind and went to the front counter to check availability. The employee at the counter politely informed me that I needed shoes to enter (completely reasonable). After I explained the situation and said I’d return to the boat for my shoes and party, they began checking for a table. Suddenly, the manager stepped in and refused to let the employee answer my question about table availability. He insisted they wouldn’t check unless I was already wearing shoes—even after I explained that I would retrieve them immediately if a table was available. So, I ran back to the boat, grabbed my flip-flops, and returned to the counter. Only then did the manager confirm they had a table. I had to run back again to let my party know so they could tie up the boat and join me. When we were finally seated, the manager came to our table and made a snarky comment about the situation. It was unnecessary and felt like a power trip. I hadn’t said anything rude, but he clearly felt the need to assert himself. It left such a bad taste that we debated leaving. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name. I completely understand and agree with the policy requiring shoes to dine, but refusing to answer a simple yes-or-no question about table availability—even after I explained the circumstances—was unreasonable. The manager’s behavior throughout the interaction was unprofessional and left a lasting negative impression. This version is slightly more concise and polished while retaining all your key points and tone.
Never again. Over priced, noisy and cramped. Aside from a very sweet waitress, this place was an assault on the senses. If they want to pretend to be a restaurant fine, but at least get the kids out of the bar! I kid you not, no less than 10 kids, 5 to 10 years old, we're rampaging around the place the entire time. I would think kids in a bar would be illegal, but it is at least a menace to customers. We will certainly not be back.
I’ve been here before and had a great experience. Tonight was not one of them. For starters, we were celebrating 2 friends birthdays, there was 7 of us. The air conditioner was dripping on one of us, the waitress did not care. WE had to move the chairs around and she gave an attitude about that. Then we asked what the specials were, 2 girls weren’t there yet, she complained that she had to say them twice. I ordered the beet salad with well done steak and romaine lettuce. The steak was rare, missing the cheese and was on a few pieces of lettuce. I wish I took a picture. The waitress said it was because I changed from the arugula? We all said it was the most pathetic salad ever. The waitress did notice the red meat and brought it back well done, but by that time everyone was eating. No one was impressed with the meals, fettuccine, lobster Mac and cheese and oysters. It was a very disappointing experience. From the service to the food.
Food was mediocre. Came here for my birthday after so many reviews saying it was good. I left really disappointed.
Unfortunately my first and only experience at Drift 82 was not a pleasant one. First I made my reservation months in advance requesting a table by the water. When we arrived early we were told our table wasn’t ready yet and to go to the bar. Fine. We came back at our reservation time only to see our table was given away and to be told we would have to wait 20 minutes or more for another table by the water. We did not want to do that so we settled on a table half inside the restaurant. Then came the waiting game for our drinks. Which didn’t compare to the almost 2 hours it took for our main course. The server offered free desert to compensate. My $51 8oz filet minion, it came out on a white plate all alone. No garnish. No salad. Not even some parsley. I know I wasn’t the only patron displeased with the service as I saw the manager speak to the table next to us and heard them complain as well. What an utter disappointment. And it was our 1 year anniversary. Really wish we had gone anywhere else.
If I could give zero stars I would. I felt extremely uncomfortable after the “head bouncer” came into the women’s bathroom Flickering the lights and whistling at us to hurry up. After I came out and confronted him, he told me that I need to “respect him”. Which made me extremely uncomfortable. After I gave him words back, he decided to drag me out.
Beautiful restaurant Service: Terrible. Very bad Food: huge serving. Did not take home. That speaks for itself. I wish I had a better experience. Won't be returning
Honestly... This was one of the worst dining experiences Ive ever had. There were a bunch of open tables but they wouldn't seat my party of 4. We tried to get drinks at the bar but they wouldn't pay any attention to us. By this time we were there about 20 minutes. Finally got a table after walking back to host area. No drink menu at the table we had to ask for it, another ten minutes went by. When we Finally got drinks, we watched the wait staff bring it over and he spilled half of it, creating a sticky table and sticky glass. All silver ware at table was dirty. Waiter never came back for dinner order we had to ask to have dinner order placed. It took 45 min for food to arrive. When it finally did it was dry, cold, and flavorless. Their "award winning" lobster bisque was one of the worst I've had it had two pieces of lobster and it was only a half filled cup. No value. No fun. Music was overly loud and obnoxious. I just felt really undervalued and for what this place costs, it was not at all worth it.
