I had a cappuccino, which was ready within 2 minutes. The ambiance is inviting and low stakes. My favorite seating options are on the outdoor deck. The cappuccino was well crafted, I quite enjoyed it. I liked that when I said I want to dine in, they gave me my coffee in a ceramic cup with a saucer. Most places these days hear me say dine in but they still give me my drink in a to-go cup, which veritably ruins the experience. But what makes Farley’s a great San Francisco establishment is its thoughtful curation of periodicals that it displays in an elegantly lit white newsstand. I hope they stay around and thrive for years to come.

I think this is a great neighborhood coffee place. The atmosphere is beautiful, you can see people from the area coming and enjoying their time. The service was friendly, helpful and fast. they offered a variety of drinks and pastries but you can also find souvenirs, magazines, tea, coffee, merchandise and more. The place is very spacious and has a few tables inside and an outdoor area. We order a golden iced kate and one iced chai latte. The drinks were flavorful without being overwhelming.All the right flavors were there, the pastries were also good. The price is on the higher end but I would love to come back since the vibe and product received are worth it.

Amazing atmosphere! Local art on the walls, lots of seating. The baristas were extremely helpful and suggested a truly delish maple latte. A downside is the bathroom that isn't easy access, the building looks very old so that makes sense but A disappointment regardless. there is outside seating and seems like a great place to meet for coffee as well as get a thoughtful little gift. They had SO MANY cool options for making coffee at home, which they also sell beans (that are collaboratively roasted) by the pound! Highly recommend. *3/2024 Farley's always delivers a wonderful experience, honey almond milk latte is my new favorite ✨

We are from out of town and our family who live in Portrero Hill recommended Farley's Coffeehouse. The coffee is just as we ordered it, just perfect! The pastries are delicious! Friendly atmosphere and I love the dogs that are allowed in the coffeehouse, just like being at home. It is our favorite coffeehouse in Portrero Hill!

Great neighborhood coffee shop with a deep root in the local community. I passed by the other day for a quick morning fuel, had a small latte and a savory pastry, both are pretty good. Very impressed by how this little coffee shop is so much more than a coffee shop. They are very engaged in and passionately support local communities by using their space to showcase artworks and promote community events. Also love their newsstand corner, the titles are pretty cool.

I really really really love this place. Their honey lavender latte is amazing and I highly recommend it. Their pastries are really great as well. I’ve had their banana bread. They have outdoor and indoor seating. No wifi so that people are more inclined to talk to each other. They also have a magazine rack. Included in this rack they have journals/ art books by locals. I thought that was pretty cool to check out. They also have merchandise to purchase. I really want a sweater before I get back to the east coast tbh. The ambience here is super chill and I really hope you get the chance to check this place out.

Farley’s is awesome! The coffee great, the croissants are fantastic, and the whole vibe is perfect. I’d absolutely stop by anytime I’m nearby. It was packed even in the middle of the afternoon, which pretty much says it all.

I like the coffee and coconut quinoa pudding. My service dog loves Farley’s, he always gets a yummy cookie treat from here.

I love Farley's and have gone for decades. I truly appreciate the workers, and the drinks and empanadas are yummy. You may have to wade through laptop zombies and tech bros though. Ugh.

Farley’s has been my favorite neighborhood coffee shop for the last two years! Potrero Hill is always great location whether you need to park or if you are walking there. The coffee shop is dog friendly 🐶 They even have dog treats! I usually grab a cappuccino or a matcha latte. If you need a strong, smooth cappuccino Farley’s is your place. When it comes to the matcha, they don’t make it too sweet which is nice. There is a hint of sweetness, but it’s so subtle. Overall, the vibe is great and I would recommend checking it out the next time you are in Potrero!

I got their fall pumpkin latte here on a Saturday that had the creeping breeze of fall. I asked for less sweet and I do not regret that at all since that was perfect for me. The barista was incredibly friendly and they drew a nice heart on my latte. It had the nice spice kick and I sat in the cafe with my partner and played one of the board games they had put out for people. There’s a large window to look through and the smell of coffee surrounds you. I would definitely recommend.

I love this place, it’s been part of my daily routine for years. I’ve seen 3-4 generations of baristas go through there and all of them have been wonderful. The atmosphere is perfect. It’s inviting, bright, and has a great amount of chatter and conversations happening throughout the day. The staff is great, all with their own personalities and shiny qualities. They are sincere and I love that. The espresso based drinks are full of flavor and made with love. The array of magazines in the back corner are a perfect touch. My favorite cafe of all time, without a doubt. If you’re not into it or have ever felt slighted there, you’re probably one of those socially disconnected people, the victim type.

There’s also a lot of merch and gift shop items to browse then you’re in there. They also have a stocked magazine rack for purchasing and browsing.

I go there with my 80 yo mom as this was a Bucher shop when I was a kid living just on the next block where we used to live and we talk about the hill and how its changed and how chill Farley's is and how nice the service and staff are, we like it a lot there and it feels like home to us.

When I politely asked if I could get one, the barista working on Saturday the 27th around 1:45 PM responded condescendingly and pointed to a decal on the counter indicating that the lids were on the other side. Providing basic items like lids is part of the job, and the interaction felt unnecessarily rude. Granted, it wasn’t busy either. I don’t enjoy spending my money at places where customers are treated that way. That said, the cashier was very polite, and the matcha itself was good.

However, my most recent visit left me deeply disappointed and hurt. While waiting for my drink, I was sitting at a table on FaceTime with my sister. I recently lost my headphones and am currently on crutches recovering from knee surgery, so I didn’t have another way to chat quietly. Out of nowhere, the barista, a man named Drake, singled me out in front of the entire café and told me to “turn that down.” The tone and manner in which this was said were not only unprofessional but also deeply inappropriate. It felt less like a request and more like a public scolding. As a Black woman, being told to “pipe down” or “turn that down” in such a setting carries an ugly historical weight, one rooted in stereotypes about Black women being “too loud” or “too much.” This wasn’t just a moment of poor judgment; it felt like a racialized aggression disguised as customer management. I’ve supported this café for years and have always valued being part of the neighborhood community, but this experience made me feel unseen, disrespected, and unwelcome. I truly hope Farley’s takes this feedback seriously and provides better training on cultural sensitivity and respectful communication, because no one deserves to be publicly embarrassed or singled out for simply existing in a space they’ve long supported.
