Been coming to Syracuse halal for 2 years . Between the gyros and plates I can’t get enough. Top 5 favorite places to get food 💯

I wasn't sure if I liked Gyros but they helped me order and the food was fantastic and a good amount. The service was excellent.

Stopped in to grab a DoorDash Delivery, the staff was so friendly when I entered. They asked me if I had ever tried their food - I was given a free sample. Im not usually one to try new foods but man oh man it was delicious!!!

A lot of times, customer service is not that great, but Syracuse Halal Gyro is an exception. The employees are so happy & nice! Best Gyro I tried near Niagara On our way to Niagara, we discovered this restaurant that served an incredible gyro pizza—something I'd never tried before. It was outstanding! We also had the falafel platter, which was equally impressive. The falafel was perfectly crispy, and the rice was delicious. This place is a true gem for gyro lovers.

This is, in my opinion, the best mid-eastern food in Syracuse. The service is great, and the staff is always kind and informative. But the food… oh man. This is the place my wife (Syrian heritage) and I go to when we want that type of food. Occasionally, I get it for her as a special unexpected treat. It’s that good. Everything we have is good, the veggies never have that “I’ve been living in cardboard in a fridge for a couple weeks” flavor. The white sauce is an excellent compliment to their food, and doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The secret, however, is their rice. It is so, SO flavorful. We could eat their rice plain and be happy. Nothing is bland, nothing is overpowering, everything is good. In our opinion, they’re the best.

The Man behind the counter who makes everything work is such a people person and will always put more food than he needs to on a plate and then a gyro. I try to eat here at least a few times a week. You have to try it!

I love these guys. The food is delicious and they are kind people. I also love that somebody in the neighborhood has emergency carrot cake by the slice in the refrigerated case. Lol.

This is the best tasting of any of the Middle Eastern, Gyro, Mediterranean, Shawarma restaurants my wife and I have eaten at in Syracuse. Great portions, great prices, great flavor, great white sauce! Service was excellent and they guys were all very friendly and accommodating. What more could you want?! We ordered a Chicken Gyro and a side of Lamb. Both were incredibly tasty and we can't wait to go back again and try more!

Alhamdulillah We came here once back in January. We live in Boston so was looking for a good Halal place to eat with the family. Their food was so amazing, from the quality, to the price and the taste. 10 out of 10. The food is made after you order so it is fresh and hot. The staff were super friendly and made it an exceptional experience. We loved it here so much that we came back to Syracuse from Boston to have it again. Would definitely recommend. It’s a hidden gem for sure. Also, thank you to all the staff for checking up on us while we were eating to see if we needed anything, also after we finished to make sure everything was good. They truly went above and beyond. Will be coming back again soon In Sha Allah!

I had the chicken gyro with fries and baklava. It was beyond delicious! I usually get lamb but I decided to try something new and I’m glad I did. Moist and flavorful! The fries were crispy and seasoned to perfection. And I can attest to the fact that they deliver well. No more soggy fries! Try them with the white sauce. It’s so good! The baklava was layered to perfection and tasted just as good as it looked! And it wasn’t dry! As if I haven’t said enough … they have a bidet in the restroom!!!

05/30 Update- So after trying and loving the gyros yesterday I really wanted to try their pizza. I admit I was skeptical as this gyro/ pizza combination shop was something new to me. Well we ordered a large cheese pizza and it was so hot and delicious. Definitely tasted like good ole Brooklyn pizza. The sauce was seasoned well and the crust was baked to perfection. The cheese was gooey and delicious not greasy. Now we can get two of our favorite foods at one place. 05/29 Originally from Long Island and I was looking for a gyro spot as I had a favorite one on the Island. Being unfamiliar with Syracuse I had to do online research and check reviews. This spot has a 4.8 and the reviews were excellent. My husband went in and ordered 2 chicken and lamb gyros. The pita was so fresh. The meat was very seasoned and tender. Although the white sauce didn't taste like the one from Long Island it was delicious. If I had one critique I would say not to chop up the meat so small after it's sliced from the rotisserie. Overall it was a delicious and amazing experience and my husband and I have found our new favorite gyro spot. Thank you.

When you arrive to this place it's a little confusion. It's in the grocery store, but to the left. The food was great and the lady on the register was amazing and kind. Food was great and priced right!

You know what here’s the truth: go to westcott halal if you want the best in cuse. It’s part of the lore. I once delivered DoorDashed an order from this place across town to somebody who was directly next to a different halal restaurant. If that isn’t proof Westcott is worth it idk what is.

Excellent food and outstanding service. Probably the best halal chicken over rice platter I’ve had in the surrounding area. The chicken was well-marinated and full of flavor, and the white sauce and hot sauce were absolutely phenomenal compliments to the platter. The pita bread was also amazing—soft, warm and perfectly fluffy, adding an excellent standout element to the meal. What makes it even better is that you get fresh vegetables with it as well, ultimately creating the perfect midnight snack during late night tenures as a student here at Syracuse University.

Syracuse Halal Gyro has not only amazing food, but also among the kindest and hardworking workers. They sponsored our iftar at Syracuse Law School and we were able to feed over 50 people. Everyone loved the food! Thank you again so much!

I visited USA on a short trip. I couldnt find anything halal in destiny USA so I searched this online. Got mixed platter and the cheese sticks. OMG I cant tell. The food is tasty and the portion size is mashahAllah well enough for a single person. The white sauce and the red sauce were very tasty as well. I wanted bit more sauce coz my platter didnt had enough and I asked for the sauce which brother gave me at the counter. The brothers who were at the til were very nice. For sure, I am going to be back again for food when I visit US.

Ordered the Chicken Platter twice so far and it is great! Its a nice portion of food and it costs $14 plus tax. This time I got the spicy rice and it is actually fairly spicy which I enjoy, the normal rice is also very good and cooked perfectly both times. The salad is fresh and made to order with your own choice of ingredients. The worker "Vijay" was one of the friendliest workers I have come across in a long time. The food was ready in 2 minutes too! I go to the truck outside of the library on campus every weekend. Ash works like there’s 7 of him. He is so kind, great to talk to, and has me wanting to come back every weekend. He’s super on point and fast every time, even when there are a ton of people incoherently ordering after a night out. He’s the man! The food tastes amazing too at a very good price. The food here is delicious and the men who were working there deserve all the good graces the world has to offer. We went in late at night, around 12:30-1:00am after a night out and they were VERY busy, and yet made time to greet customers, take orders, and get food out in a timely manner. There were a number of rude doordashers and customers while there, and these men handled them with the utmost courtesy. I was getting fed up with them, and I didn’t even have to deal with them, make their food, package their orders. Incredible food, incredible service.

Spur of the moment dinner choice after work. Traveled 25 min to get here and would do that again anytime! You get hit in the face by an awesome smell at the door. You can order at the counter or at a kiosk to your right. The staff is very friendly and the food is served quickly. I had the lamb platter with white sauce. It was incredible. I only wish I had such an establishment in my hometown.

I've been all over the US (minus Alaska), and this gyro place is by FAR the best gyro restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. The prices are around ~12$ for a full meal (great value in NY) and it is beyond worth it. The meat (lamb) was tender and flavorful without being overpowering. They let you choose your sides when ordering the platter, but I just had the basic platter with white sauce. The white sauce was amazing too, it's like a mild ranch, but with a subtler complexity that becomes perfection when paired with the meat. Also, the staff are super friendly. Will come again when on a road trip.

A must try in Syracuse! There are a few things I look for when I’m choosing to get take out, quality of food, price and portions. This is one of my favorite spots to go to, the food is always exceptional, the staff makes you feel like part of the family, they are welcoming, positive and generous. I am never disappointed with my order. They have seating inside or you can take it to go. If you need feel good, pick me up food, this is where you should come to eat.

We are from out of town and saw the good reviews and definitely wanted to try. Seriously probably some of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. I don't even like lamb or eat lamb and I actually had it and it was delicious. My husband got the lamb platter. I got Falafel platter and my son got the chicken wrap. The falafels were so delicious they were very moist inside and not dry like some people's are. Everything was very fresh and tasty. You get a choice between regular rice and spicy rice, the spicy rice is really spicy and leaves a nice lingering burn in your mouth. The regular rice is absolutely yummy too. The grape leaves are absolutely amazing and the yogurt sauce that they make is probably the best I've had ever! The only disappointment I had was The Baklava it was a little dry but other than that everything was absolutely amazing. There's not a lot of places to sit inside... there are three tables and a bar with some stools.

I won't lie to anyone. I tried it once, and my stomach hurt. I think the food wasn't good. I think the chicken was okay, but the meat, or shawarma (I don't know what they call it exactly), was bad. Actually, I work in food delivery, and many people order from this place. There's also something I didn't like: they sell cakes and sweets in clear plastic containers without any production or expiration dates. I hope they improve the meat because I noticed its ingredients were strange and very fatty. Honestly, I don't eat at restaurants because few of them care about the quality of the food and whether the ingredients are fresh or not. I hope you understand what I mean.

Very poor customer service. The cook, cashier, and pre guy are new to this location and they have bad customer service. The new guy that prepared me and my daughter gyro refused to change his gloves after I politely asked him to change them.His additude sucks and he also refuse to change his gloves and began to argue with me. The new gyro guy touched raw meat and then picked up something off the floor and tried to give me cold lamb gyro . I àsked for a refund for my 31.60 worth of food and then the manager steps in to apologize and to make my gyros the right way. I've never had a problem with customer service and good food at this location until the new jacks took over. I won't be back to this location or refer anyone to them for good food.
