Gurkha Planet

Sometimes you eat a meal that leaves you in rapture and today I had that from this restaurant. Ordered online and collected within 15 mins, the food was outstanding. I wish I was local so that I could come back over and over again to try new things. Thoroughly recommend. I had the lamb rogan josh, pilau rice and samosas.

We all had a lovely meal at this restaurant and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, we haven't been here before but would definitely go back

Visited a couple of days ago with two guests. Excellent food, this is not your average "curry restaurant" , subtle flavours raise the food to a different level. If you find yourself in Tonbridge and want to step away from the usual choice of chainstore food or clichés, book a table here!

We want to the Ghurka Planet last night , we have never been before . It was just amazing 🤩 A very warm welcome , service was good and the staff were lovely . Food was amazing so tasty and lots of it ! Definitely going back and would thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant. Thank you 🙏

The food was so nice. I had the spicy fried squid, the vindaloo sauce really complimented it well. The chicken Nepal was also really nice, the mango in it was very sweet. The cheese nan bread was soft. The mixed dal was also nice although I was surprised it had beans and chickpeas but I assume this is the way it's done is Nepal. The food arrive quickly. The person who took our order was really friendly and polite. They came to ask if everything was OK after each course. I would definitely come back again. Everyone else who I was with and ordered food was happy with how it tasted.

I've walked past this restaurant several times but never given it a go. I saw the reviews when looking for somewhere to take my sister and her hubby so thought I'd book a table. It's an unassuming venue, but that is certainly not the case for the food or service; both were excellent. The staff were very polite and attentive, and there's plenty of choice of both familiar and some more unusual dishes. My partner had a Japanese curry and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had lamb cutlets which were a special... Gorgeous. Prices were very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend and will definitely be returning.

Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. The food was amazing. Good portion size without being too big. The naan was the best I’ve ever had and so were the starters. The deserts were awesome too. The staff were amazing and one of the chefs came out to check on us. Highly recommended.

The food here is exceptionally good. Every time we visit I am impressed with how well prepared it is, full of flavour and well presented. (Take-away is also of high quality). Whether you go as a couple or a larger group, the staff are always welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere is great.

Just incredible. I've never tasted such fragrant and delicious food. Prices are very competitive with other restaurants, if you like a curry then take it to the next level at Gurkha Planet. Will definitely be going again. Staff were excellent.

Delicious food and friendly atmosphere. Good range of vegetarian food. We ordered a number of starters and mains between us - all had good flavour and were not too rich or oily. Fantastic, will definitely visit again.

Amazingly delicious food that is simply out of this planet, and at a reasonable price to! This is the second time I've had a takeaway from the Gurkha and the food and friendly service never let's me down. I would highly recommend this to anyone who's thinking of having a takeout outside the norm!

This is a must. The staff could not have been more helpful, ensuring we got food to our taste... (spice). Was not over priced. The food was exceptional. The atmosphere was brilliant. Will visit again next time we are in the area.

Just got back from this restaurant. Good service, wide menu choice, clean toilets. 10 of us in our booking and had a lovely evening.

Great food and professional service. Nepalese with a twist... loved momo for stater and steak for main and can't remain commenting the freshly prepared Sticky toffee pudding. Best restaurant in Tonbridge.

Me and my wife spent a really nice evening here. Place is really cosy, staff polite and attentive to detail. Food a real experience, fresh naan bread with tasty meat, we really felt like in India. The only thing to maybe improve is about the fact that all the food we had ordered was pretty hot, although not specified on the menu. Price is in the average, advised +++++++

Very much enjoyed our evening here. Restaurant irself is ok but the service was really good - the guy took time to walk us through the menu. The food itself was great - I recommend the Sherpa Chicken with Bombay Aloo side.

Small cosy place with attentive, friendly staff. Good selection of food, with some standard and some unusual dishes. Tasty food and decent portions Occasionally they do special nights, with more traditional food and costumes which look interesting.

I felt humbled as the smiley staff member saw me to my seat and asked me about my day. He confidently assisted me with the menu, pointing out interesting dishes that I should try. The interior decor shouts out Nepalese; the staff member was happy to explain what some of the more unusual decorations symbolised. The food arrived at a slow pace, but was prepared fresh and, for indo food, well presented. I enjoyed a number of Vegetarian dishes that I had never tried before. I really enjoyed the whole experience. The diminutive, warm and welcoming environment made it a pleasure to eat there.

Excellent food and service. It's a small dining area so you get to know the folks on the tables around you. Despite being very busy, the staff managed to cope and the flavours of the dishes were fantastic. The food is deceptively filling and Ghurka beer complements the food perfectly. Be warned the beer comes in 660ml bottles.

Lovely staff, interesting choice of food, really enjoyed our evening there and happy to go again. Good value for money.

Went here for a family meal, the service wasn't as quick as you'd like but the food more than made up for it. Fantastic taste and selection, well worth a visit

This is the 2nd time we've tried this restaurant for take aways. Ordering and delivery was very efficient, but just didnt enjoy the food at all. Very watery sauces more like soup.

The service was good, this is two star for the service if this was based on food it would get 0. The food had no salt, and for the price its not worth it at all the food was horrible. Menu is outdated and limited this food is not true nepali food but a really washed down bland example. Not sure how this restaurant got 5 stars on trip advisor but is extremely overrated.

I have been going to the gurkha planet for at least 5 years, I haven't been in the last 2 years due to Covid. I was very disappointed this time on my return to the restaurant I booked a table for 2 at 7 turned yup wasn't asked for my name, was given a table for 6, waited 2 hours for my food ordered a drunk to be told they were out of stock food came out not hot at all, asked twice for a glass of water on the 3rd attempt I received my water.very to have to write this but its a shame as was my favourite restaurant for many years.
