Opinions de Ida Claire Addison
My wife and I celebrated our 11th anniversary here, and it was unforgettable! The shrimp & grits were amazing, and my wife loved the Lazy Susan sampler (perfect even without meat). Our server Kristian was fantastic, and the atmosphere was spot on. The highlight was Janie, the night manager, such a ball of joy! She made us feel so special, even surprising us with a thoughtful anniversary gift as we left. Truly above and beyond service. Ida Claire gave us not just a meal, but a memory we’ll never forget. Highly recommend for any special occasion!
I am in disbelief that I have not left a review of Ida Claire! This is always a hit. The biscuits, the gravy, the candied maple bacon, the chorizo sausage patties, the FRENCH TOAST (Seriously, you are not going to finish this no matter how hard you try), incredible. Even when it is busy, which... it's is usually always busy. Such a great place. Our server was awesome and on top of things. Drinks are spot. You have to book at least by Tuesday or Wednesday if you want a good brunch time spot. If it is a holiday, plan way ahead. Mother's Day, Easter, you gotta get them weeks in advance for a prime spot, but worth it!
Had a great lunch outing with the family at Ida Claire! The atmosphere was warm and lively, perfect for relaxing and catching up. I had the burger and fries with a margarita — everything hit the spot. The burger was juicy, the fries perfectly crisp, and the margarita balanced just right. Definitely one of those meals that reminds you why dining out is worth it. We’ll be back for sure.
Love this place! Their brunch is unlike any other. Love the shrimp and grits, chicken and waffles, honey cinnamon latte, and drip coffee. The location is so cute with so much charm and whimsy! Service is great as well! We came on a Sunday morning and the place was busy but we didn’t have a long wait at all for a small group.
This was out1st time here, our hotel was across the parking lot so we decided to try it. INCREDIBLE restaurant, GREAT food experience, and the food was the BEST! We will definitely come back next time we are in Dallas/Addison. We love it when you go in and the atmosphere, service, and food are all 5 Star! Highly recommend.
It was our first time visiting Ida Claire. As soon as you walk in, you are transported to a really cool decorated restaurant full of interesting vintage and antique pieces. I felt like a fortune teller was going to appear with the clairvoyant theme in their menu designs and decor. Our host was so kind and welcoming, letting us know they are a southern cuisine scratch kitchen. She heard it was my son's birthday and gave him Mardi gras necklaces together with a birthday card signed by all the staff. How amazing! Little things like that just made it that much more special and my son loved it. The food was brought out quickly, we didn't have to wait long. I got the Monte cristo sandwich with jam and it was delicious. Their side chips are even homemade with some light seasoning. I wish I saved room for dessert because they all sounded really good! We all left with leftovers for the next day. For the kids meals we got chicken fingers with waffles and they were generous in size. I found it to be very kid friendly. They provide the kids with unique coloring pages and crayons to stay busy. We definitely plan on coming back when we return to Dallas! Please open a restaurant in Austin!
Ida Claire has a great solid menu with plenty of delicious and fresh options for most any palate! Olivia did an excellent job serving lunch and look forward to going back! After 12 years I’ve returned twice and the food and service—>top-notch. Recommend the Fried Chicken & Waffles, House Salad (delicious dressing!) Salmon, and Green Tea. 🍵
Lovely place open and homey. Service was good but server missed a few things we ordered and forgot a drink until we asked for it. Food. Was good. The chicken and waffles looked really nice and tasted great. The Monte Cristo was not typical battered and fried. It was French toast sandwich. Chips they served with it was greasy and inedible. The biscuit and gravy was not very flavorful and biscuit was very small. Sausage tasted like jimmy deans spicy sausage. Portions were large. Caramel machiato was good. Expensive also.
It’s a rarely occasion that I go to a place and they get 5 stars, like this people is really good! Went on a Saturday at 4 o’clock on the dot, and missed brunch, I was sad but they made up for it. We sat at the bar, there were three ladies there, first was Sydney, she was great, welcome us and help us out at the beginning of our lunch. Then out of no where we had Jenna, she was fantastic, we were struggling with what to eat cause we had our mouths set on brunch. They made it happen, got the chicken and waffle, but cut the waffle for pancakes. Then while we were waiting on our meal I wanted to try the jalapeños cornbread, amazing, and the fried green tomatoes which were good too, that sauce WOW. Before our meal comes out Valerie swooped in and we had an amazing conversation with her. All of them were very friendly, will definitely be back!!
Came by for lunch after an appointment and was pleasantly surprised by how nice this spot turned out to be. It was quite busy, so we were seated on the patio, but with the beautiful weather, it actually worked out perfectly. The staff was attentive and very helpful with recommendations since it was our first visit. We started with the fried green tomatoes and biscuits, both of which were delicious. Our drinks were excellent as well, and I appreciated that they offered some great mocktail options. For the main course, I ordered the chicken and waffles, the coffee-infused syrup gave it a unique and flavorful twist that I really enjoyed. The blackened salmon, however, was a bit underwhelming. That said, dessert completely redeemed the meal. The “Vice Cake” (a stout cake layered with coffee buttercream, tobacco syrup, chocolate ganache, candied bacon, hemp seeds, and sea salt) was incredible, and it paired perfectly with the macchiato. I finished off with an iced lavender latte made with local coffee from Richardson, which had amazing depth and flavor, the perfect way to end our lunch.
We’ve been coming here for years and Ida Claire brunch never disappoints! Having one of our favorite servers, Simon, made it even better. He’s always friendly, attentive, and makes us feel genuinely welcomed. The food was incredible—especially the pull-apart blueberry biscuits with the lemon zest glaze… The steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the chicken and waffles hit that perfect sweet-and-savory balance. Another fantastic brunch experience—we’ll definitely be back!
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Southern Comfort with a Side of Duck Fat This was my third time dining at Ida Claire in a month, and it’s quickly becoming a favorite. Let’s talk about the Duck Nachos — easily the richest plate I’ve ever seen. (Pictured) Duck confit, fried duck egg, duck fat gravy, goat cheese velouté, herbed goat cheese, lime crema, and spiced chips. It’s bold, decadent, and honestly kind of ridiculous — in the best way. I’ve also had the shrimp and grits, which were fantastic… except for one thing: the shrimp tails. Why are we still doing this? Nobody wants to dig tails out of a creamy bowl of grits and get messy fingers. Just take them off. Please. I mean I’ve done it myself but it’s just lazy and I get that a lot of chefs think that it helps the flavor and probably helps the shrimp from over cooking but I still just don’t get it. Have the Line Cook take the shrimp tail off when they plate.. The salmon was a complete knockout — packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The seafood pasta was good too: creamy, full of seafood, and felt like a solid value, even if it didn’t hit the same level of indulgence as the nachos. Ida Claire delivers elevated Southern food with personality. I’ll be back — probably for more duck fat and one fewer shrimp tails
Ida Claire in Addison is a unique, vibrant country-style restaurant that we visited for brunch on a Wednesday before leaving Dallas. From the start, our experience was fantastic—our waitress was incredibly polite, kind, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations (wish I remembered her name!). The food was delicious! The seafood pasta was flavorful and filling, and the Ida’s biscuits are a must-try, especially with the house-made jam and honey butter. My hubby enjoyed his chicken with sweet potato waffle fries, which was a perfect balance of savory and sweet. This spot is a 10/10 for us—I highly recommend it for anyone in the area!
OMG—this place is a whole vibe! We were visiting from San Antonio and wanted something unique. We’re originally from the East Coast, where food options are basically endless—so yeah, if you’re used to a lot of variety, San Antonio can feel a little limited. But Ida Claire? Different story. From the second we walked in, the atmosphere was fun and inviting, and the music was on point. The service was also top-tier. Our waitress was Michelle—request her if you can (seriously). She was kind, attentive, and made us feel taken care of without hovering. The menu has something for everyone. My babes got the double cheeseburger, and I asked if the kitchen could cut one in half for my two youngest. Not only did Michelle make it happen—she had them plate the halves on separate plates, each with their own fries. That was such a thoughtful touch. I ordered the ribs and whew… they were chef’s kiss. Falling-off-the-bone tender, with BBQ sauce that was the perfect mix of tangy and sweet. They also came with cornbread, which paired so well with everything. My hubby got the redfish—he loved it. It tasted super fresh, and even though the portion wasn’t huge, he was completely satisfied once he added a side of grits. Bottom line: take the drive. It’s worth it. We’re even grabbing a to-go order before we leave town. And don’t skip the biscuits and gravy with bacon and jelly—so good. You won’t be disappointed. Oh Yeah, Michelle even asked if anyone at the table had a food allergy before we ordered. I don't think we have ever been asked that. Thanks Michelle!
Ida Claire in Addison is one of those places that just gets it right. From the moment you sit down, you’re hit with that warm, whimsical Southern charm — vintage road trip meets backyard dinner party vibes — and then the food comes out and, man, just seals the deal. We always have to start with their biscuits and fried green tomatoes — it’s tradition at this point. This time we also tried the Lazy Susan Sampler, which was a blast: fun to share, visually gorgeous, and a nice way to taste around the menu. As for entrées — we went all in: Double smash burger: juicy, crisp flavors, and that bun was addictive. Wasn't a fan of the shoestring fries, personally, but loved the harissa ketchup. Chicken and waffles: sweet, savory, perfectly fried ... always a crowd favorite. Seafood pasta: indulgent and fresh, loaded with flavor. Probably a new favorite of mine. Summer ravioli: light yet decadent, with bright seasonal notes. Did feel like it needed a fish of some sort, or blackened chicken. Chicken & mac: pure comfort on a bone and in a bowl. Make sure you really mix the mac well, otherwise it starts out bland. I’m sober, but their mocktails (especially the “Cali Sober” ones) are some of the best I’ve had. And the drinkers at our table gave a solid thumbs-up to the cocktails too. Every item was thoughtfully crafted and worth savoring. Now — it’s not cheap. But honestly? It feels worth it, for special occasions. Portions are generous, quality is high, and the experience is memorable. It’s a great spot for birthdays or special nights out — they even do a sweet celebratory gesture that makes it feel personal. Note, if you're gonna have a larger party, be sure to call ahead to reserve a table. Shoutout of all shoutouts goes to HEITOR. He was one of the best servers we’ve ever had: warm, attentive, genuine, and on top of everything. He never let our water jugs run low, checked in often without hovering, and made us feel so welcome with thoughtful conversation and real hospitality. Ida Claire’s lucky to have him — and so were we. A couple things to note: It’s loud. Like, shouting-across-the-table kind of loud. Fun energy, but maybe not ideal if you’re hoping for a quiet dinner. Parking can be tricky during peak hours on that busy restaurant row. But don’t give up — circle a couple times and a spot will open up. (Patience is rewarded here.) All in all? Ida Claire is a vibrant, delicious, slightly chaotic southern dream — and we’ll always be back.
I was visiting Dallas & was treated to Ida Claire for some Cajun style food. Everything we ordered was delicious! I tried fried green tomatoes for the first time & they were perfectly crisp and delicious. I ordered the shrimp and grits as my main and it was AMAZING!! Creamy, rich, and perfectly seasoned. I thoroughly enjoyed the bourbon pecan pie dessert as well, it was perfectly sweet, gooey and crunchy. I enjoyed every bite at Ida Claire & I really loved the decor! Definitely one of the best decorated restaurants that I’ve ever been to. The waitress was extensively knowledgeable about the drink menu, food restrictions, and how to pair our drinks with our foods. The service was excellent and timely. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in Dallas!
Exceptional experience! We had friends visiting from Finland in December, and wanted to give them a Southern dining experience. Made a reservation, and added a note about the visitors. The menus waiting for us truly surprised us, see the picture! They had printed us menus with Finnish flags and a welcome note in Finnish. Amazing attention to detail, our friends felt so special! Food was wonderful, and staff so friendly. Thank you so much for making it a truly memorable evening!
The happy hour with my vendor was a solid experience. Three of us met, and the atmosphere was upscale but never pretentious. The restaurant was busy and large, yet the noise level was surprisingly low. We could talk easily without raising our voices, which made for a great conversation. I only had a Dr. Pepper, but the other drinks being served were amazing. The staff clearly put a lot of care into the presentation, producing super fancy-looking cocktails that were a feast for the eyes. We ordered one of each of the shrimp, chicken wings, seafood fondue, and sliders. All the appetizers were tasty. The portions were rich and focused entirely on quality. Overall, it was an excellent setting for both business and social connection.
This is the easiest five stars I've ever left. Food and service are incredible. Shout out to Gary, Val, Shindy, Sid, Jas, Ashley, Jenna, and Dion. The staff here is truly amazing and the drinks, food and atmosphere are all top notch. Easily one of the best places I've ever been to. Go check this place out!
First time here and we loved the vibe on Sunday! Hip but laid back with music you can groove to which added to the ambiance. Candace was the best waitress ever, will ask for her every time! She was attentive, helpful and took really good care of us. Food was seasoned, fresh, presented well and did not disappoint. WeAmple parking for everyone and good location in Addison. Great for brunch with friends, date or just to chill at the bar and grab a bite.
I'll say this would be my favourite southern style brunch place. I tried their Country style breakfast and the lemon poppyseed pancakes and both were really great . Their biscuit and gravy which came with the breakfast was one of the best I've tried in Dallas area. The place is beautiful, full of light and nice 70's aesthetics. I think this I'll be coming here more now
We will be back. This is an amazing spot. The atmosphere and vibe are excellent, the service was exceptional (our waitress Olivia truly was outstanding). Everything we had was clearly fresh and well prepared. The menu had so many good looking options that were unique enough to inspire the desire to return. We started with the biscuits and a la ve en rose cocktail. The presentation along with the taste were superb! I had the peach and goat cheese salad with grilled shrimp - delicious! My husband had the shrimp and grits, I tried some of the grits, even though I don't care for them, and they were the best I'd ever had. We ordered the strawberry cobbler for dessert, and I have never had that kind of down before. It was good, I just don't care for the texture. Others would likely enjoy.
I had the chicken and waffles. It was the best I’ve ever had. My wife had the fried chicken and loved it. The service was excellent! A friend recommended it and it was exactly as they described. We loved it and will go back soon. Hopefully to try their breakfast.
July 2025 2nd time here but first review. chic vibe and cool design. My shrimp is kind of dry but my friends loved their blacken Redfish. Great fried green tomato. Great place to impress your date. My rating 5 as very satisfied Taste 4/5 Temperature 4/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Attentiveness and courteous 5/5 Speed of service 5/5 Nice restaurant worth a visit.
What a nice experience! From the minute we walked in the door, the mood was warm and cozy and the atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing The service was truly impeccable. Our waiter, Luken, was exceptional. Add in the delicious food and perfectly made drinks and we can’t wait to go back to try more. We had the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and the Tasso Spiced Pork Chop. Every bite was as good as the first. The menu offers unique combinations of foods that are out of the norm and make for a very tasty and pleasant change of pace in dining out. Much enjoyed!
We came here as large group (20+) to celebrate my son leaving for college. We booked 2 weeks in advance for a Sunday brunch. Our experience was wonderful from start to finish. Our tables were ready well before we arrived. They even gave us customized menus with my son’s college logo that had “Good Luck” with his name watermarked on them that we could take with us as a souvenir. All of our food was very tasty. I had the chicken and waffles with the hot honey sauce and the bacon gravy that was to die for. They treated all of our guests wonderfully and even though they had a full house with many large tables, were still very attentive to us. I would highly recommend them whether for a large party or a dinner for two.
I found a gem in Addison, TX. Ida Claire is giving Southern wise grandma and grandma decorated too. She knows what to feed you and holy bananas that seafood fondue. Yes, seafood fondue. Who does that? I ordered all the things seafood! The shrimp and crab roll was solid. The lump crabcake would definitely be on my list again. The vibe was cozy and we camped out for hours working without getting side eyed once. That kind of service deserves a shout-out.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — A Must-Try Spot! I absolutely love giving high praise when it’s well earned—and Ida Claire’s definitely deserves it! This quaint little spot was the perfect place to celebrate a close friend’s birthday dinner. The food? Incredibly flavorful and well-seasoned—every dish was a hit. Despite being a busy night, the service was right on point. Our food came out in a timely manner, and the staff was friendly and attentive the whole evening. Whether you’re planning a cozy date night or a family dinner, Ida Claire’s hits all the right notes. I’ll definitely be back!
Elle was AMAZING for our brunch birthday celebration! We were a party of 12 and she handled everything so smoothly. She was patient, kind, attentive, and kept the whole table taken care of without missing a beat. She even helped with cutting and serving the birthday cake we brought, which made it feel extra special. Thank you, Elle, for making our brunch so fun and memorable! 🎉✨
I came here on a Sunday morning with a couple of friends right when they opened at 9 a.m. We did have a reservation, and by the time our food arrived, the restaurant was already more than half full, so I definitely recommend making one. We started with the fried green tomatoes, and they were absolutely amazing. Normally when I order fried green tomatoes, they need the dipping sauce or at least a little salt and pepper to really shine. These didn’t need anything. They were perfectly seasoned on their own and tasted great even without the sauce. I also ordered the banana bread French toast, and hands down, it’s the best banana bread French toast I’ve ever had. They offer a lot of toppings, and while everything was good, none of it was necessary. The banana bread itself was so flavorful and well-made that it stood perfectly on its own. I also ordered the Low Country breakfast with hash browns, country ham, and biscuits, and that was excellent as well. Everything was cooked well, hearty, and full of flavor. The restaurant itself is fairly large with plenty of different seating configurations, which makes it great for groups. The service was great throughout our visit, and overall, we had a really enjoyable experience. My only minor complaint was the seating. After we were sat, another table was placed right next to us about five minutes later, even though there were plenty of other open areas they could have used. I wasn’t a big fan of that, but aside from that small issue, everything else was wonderful. We’ll definitely be back.
I have spent many many years in this area for family visits, trips, and simple weekend getaways. Somehow, I have never managed to try this place out. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing, with the design based around vintage books mostly. Every staff member we met was super friendly and energetic. The food came out hot and fresh, being very well-made. Definitely a place to try and to visit again!
I came here with my family for Christmas Eve dinner. It was fantastic! The atmosphere was relaxed and while it was a little noisy (it was crowded, so obviously), it wasn't overwhelming. As for the food, what can I say except delicious? We ordered the biscuits as an appetizer and I could've eaten a few orders on my own. I had the chicken and waffles, which was also delicious. Finally, we had the sea salt chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Amazing.
Yes, five stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️No complaints! This casual joint boasts good service and delicious food. Me and some girlfriends stopped by for dinner ahead of seeing Marlon Wayans at the Addison Improv across the street. I ordered the redfish and asked that they remove everything but the spinach. I like simple but delicious and they delivered!! 🍛 Gotta try the frozen flight especially while it’s still hot out! Yummy!🍹 Again this is a casual spot with great music and good vibes. I hear brunch is amazing so may return for that!! Go check ‘em out and be sure to tell them your Google Goddess sent you!
I’ve been here at least 10 times at this point and somehow never realized they do amazing themed nights! I came for Valentine’s Day and had the pleasure of cute flowers and a serenade at the front, valentines themed cocktail and dinner menu, and the staff wearing their best. They also told us a special Mardi Gras night was coming up! I bring all of my coworkers from out of town for business and friends for date night. The food is always amazing, our favorites being the deviled eggs, fried tomatoes, chicken and fish dishes. My only advice to management is awareness that my reservations are hardly ever on time - sometimes up to 30 minutes later and the host staff could step up their kindness upon checking you in. Other than that - perfect dinner spot for date night or groups!
Went to Dallas to visit a friend and she recommended this place. The staff was wonderful to work with. Even though they were very busy with the brunch rush, they were able to accommodate a change in our reservation and get us seated earlier. Our waitress was very attentive. The food serving size was great and everything was delicious. Definitely recommend for anybody in the area or who’s visiting.
This is the kauuutest Place! We stopped in for an early dinner/late lunch type of meal, and we were greeted with such a warm and genuine welcome that felt like home. The eclectic decor and delectable aroma coming from the kitchen was heaven on earth...lol We wanted to order Everything! The menu is full of such good choices.. We started with the Lazy Susan Sampler and the Biscuits....😋 The Manager was on point and Amazing!!! And although he had the coolest name, it escapes me...🤦🏾♀️ We had Chicken and Waffles and and order of the Raviolis w/ Shrimp. I absolutely can't wait to get back here. The food is Awesome!!! We sat and talked for forever because it was so relaxing... And they have such darling restrooms...lol 😍
Everything was delicious, and I'm definitely coming back. They made my birthday feel extra special and memorable with a Birthday Card form the servers. Everyone was very friendly, and our server, Matteo, did a great job with all the recommendations from the menu and making sure we were happy and enjoying our time there.
Large bright and open high ceiling space w a buzzing, lil bit noisy vibe. Been able to dine here for lunch a couple of times now and the service and fair were consistently friendly, prompt and tasty. I like the southern comfort centric offerings where u can still enjoy but also w some healthy twist options. I had to try the fried green tomatoes and they were great, w an extra crispy batter…yum. I rarely get shrimp this far from the coast, but theirs did not disappoint…grilled savory and not overdone. Recommend reservations if ur dining w others.
We first tried Ida Claire for brunch this morning…then decided to return for lunch…and were equally, exceptionally delighted both times…but there’s a but at the end. Brunch was phenomenal. The addition of avocado to our Shakshuka was brilliant. The lemon poppyseed pancakes had a fluffy excellence complemented perfectly with the blueberry compote. It might have been a hair nicer to have a choice of syrup or more compote; the addition of maple to an already superlative flavor combo was a little over the top. The coffees were splendid too. After a morning out, it seemed perfectly natural to return for our midday meal, and this time we sat at the bar. We had the ravioli and a shrimp&crab roll, and again the food was delicious, the staff charming, and our mocktail was particularly good. So, where’s the but? It’s not in the ambiance. This place has the sort of authentic, fancy-rustic feel many others try to emulate. Indoors and out on the patio, there are classy, thoughtful elements sure to make anyone smile. Nor is the menu a problem. There’s something for everyone and easy to read. The staff are clearly trained with best hospitality practices, and keen to give their guests the best possible experience. But… and it’s important to stress that this point will in no way keep us from returning every time we’re in Dallas…sitting on the bar top are some lamps. They’re gorgeous. Some clever individual has taken real, albeit empty, bottles of spirits and wired them for electricity. They are impressive. Quite the flex. Even more remarkable are the full bottles on the shelves above them. A smorgasbord of hard-to-find labels are there. Wellers, Staggs, and Van Winkles sit there … ……BUT they’re not on the menu. There were some corks up there I’d have paid just to smell. So, although we left, twice in six hours, consummately delighted, we also hope the next time we visit there will be a sipping menu that includes the rare offerings and/or fancy flights. Do that, and we’ll be there for every meal. :-)
I loveeeee Ida Claire! It's my go to spot if I'm craving some good ole southern cuisine. Their cornbread is amazing and my favorite is the seafood pasta. Make sure to get their mac and cheese! Their pecan pie and espresso martini? Absolutely chef's kiss. I keep coming back, and you'll find out why too.
We enjoyed the ambiance and decor. We decided to sit at the bar due to the wait (a good choice). I ordered the lobster mac & cheese, and while I enjoyed the dish it lacked flavor. I was unsure if this was deliberate to ensure the lobster popped or due to the busyness. I sampled the VICE cake, intrigued by the tobacco syrup in the description on the menu. The balance of sweet and salty was superb. The cake was a tad dry but overall pretty good! I would love to try the brunch and breakfast menu!
Ida Claire was one of those meals you don’t even stop to photograph. It was that good. The only pic I managed to take was of my mimosa, made just right with a splash of OJ and the rest champagne. I ordered the fried chicken with lobster mac and cheese, and every bite was worth it. My server was excellent, attentive, helpful and made great suggestions without hovering. I’ll definitely be back.
I've been here a couple of times and I'll definitely go back again. Great food, friendly and attentive staff. Lively atmosphere. The menu has so many tasty and tempting items. I definitely recommend making a booking, but if don't you may be able to get a seat at the bar.
This place is where Southern comfort gets a quirky, brunch-drunk makeover—and I’m all for it. The food’s a hit: biscuits that feel like a hug, chicken that’s got crunch and soul, and cocktails that somehow taste better in mismatched vintage glassware. The vibe is eclectic in the best way—think antique travel meets Alice in Wonderland. Outdoor seating is a win when the weather’s good, and service is usually on point. Just know it gets packed, so book ahead or be ready to sip and wait. Bonus: their bathroom wallpaper alone deserves five stars.
Had my Birthday brunch here this past Sunday and it was amazing! Our server Elle with cool pink hair was awesome ! Food came out fast, drinks were good. Service was fast . Place was very busy but it was enjoyable. But what topped it off was another table paid for our entire tab!!!! If you happen to read this please know your kindness and sweet gesture did not go unnoticed! It meant a lot to me and my sisters! We truly appreciate your kindness. <3
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gary T was an outstanding host at Ida Claire. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcomed and taken care of. He was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and checking in at just the right times. His positive attitude and professionalism truly elevated our dining experience. Thank you, Gary, for the excellent service—we’ll definitely be back!
My partner and I came on a Saturday night for a nightcap and a snack, and we were able to get seats at the bar right away. The ambiance was great, lively but not too loud, which is such a nice change since so many places are hard to talk in these days. The bartender was sweet and attentive. We got espresso martinis and a few apps to share, and everything was really good. I loved the cozy, low lighting and relaxed vibe. Definitely feels like a great spot for a date night, especially a first date!
I've been here twice for lunch. Once on the patio and once inside. I adore sitting outside on a nice afternoon. The Chicken Salad Sandwich is large and delicious. My new favorite dish is the Chicken & Kale Salad. The grilled chicken is juicy and the salad is so flavorful. For the price, I was very satisfied with the portion size. I could easily have taken leftovers except I couldn't put my fork down. Both times the servers were attentive and friendly, but the food took longer to arrive at the table than it seemed it should. Food, pricing and overall experience was good enough to make up for the wait. Can't wait to go back! Update: had brunch here with friends - Creme Brulee French Toast was yummy. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and also commented on how huge the portions were.
Highly recommend to get lobster shrimp pasta and ribs and cornbread combo. It was really good. The pasta was really creamy and lots of seafoods. A little bit of spiciness. It was perfect. Like the vibe of restaurant fastest and efficient service. Even though we went on a brunch, they were nice enough to offer dinner menu.
Me and my friend were excited to try Ida Claire so we stopped by for lunch. We just ordered some starters to share. The deviled eggs had to much mustard so that’s all you tasted, the fried green tomatoes were good but did not care for the sauce on the side, the cup of gumbo was good, and our cocktail Monkey Business was way to strong with alcohol so more is not necessarily better. Maybe is was just an off day for them but was a lil disappointed.
Came for my wife's birthday. Lovely atmosphere. Had about a 15 or so minute wait when we arrived. Food was okay. Quiche could've been warmer and had more spinach in it (was told there would be spinach in it but don't recall seeing/tasting any). Wife wanted the humming bird - she liked it but I wasn't a big fan of it. I did like the grits a lot, though. Not pictured is the chicken that my daughter's had - crispy and the hot honey sauce was tremendous. Dinged the service as the waitress was not very knowledgeable about the drinks they had, specifically the beers.
Went to Ida Claire this past Sunday for my dad’s birthday brunch. The food was absolutely amazing and easily the best part of the experience. Unfortunately, there were some major service issues. The fire alarm was going off when we were seated and took several minutes to be turned off. In our large party, my dad’s (the birthday guy)meal was missed entirely, and it took a while to track down our server since we were seated inside and she was mostly outside. They did fix the overlook and his meal was comped, but it still took away from the celebration. I would go back for the food, but likely with a smaller group and not during a busy brunch service.
I recently visited Ida Claire and had a really enjoyable overall experience. From the moment we walked in the service stood out. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. Our server Emily checked in at the right times, made helpful recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The décor has a charming, Southern-inspired feel with a modern twist stylish but still cozy. It’s the kind of place that feels lively and energetic while still being comfortable enough to sit and enjoy a long meal. Whether you’re going for brunch with friends or dinner for a special occasion, the atmosphere really sets the tone. As for the food, it was okay overall. Everything was presented nicely and came out in a timely manner, but the flavors didn’t quite stand out as much as I expected. Nothing was bad by any means it just didn’t quite match the high bar set by the service and vibe. That said the experience as a whole was positive. The combination of great service and a beautiful atmosphere makes it worth a visit and I’d definitely consider coming back especially to try a few different menu items next time.
The food was good and hot, almost as if it was made to order. Yes, didn’t have to complain about it being cold or just warm. I had the fried green tomatoes and the salmon, and my friend had the crab roll and deviled eggs. Everything was good other than the wait. We reserved a table, came on time, checked in, and weren’t seated til about 30 minutes later. It was cool though, had a little champagne for the wait.
Ida Claire is a solid 4.5 stars. The atmosphere is great! Service was very attentive and the server was very informative. The menu has a great variety of options. We heard great things about the food, and maybe that set the bar too high for what we were expecting. We enjoyed our time, but the food did not stand out. We all felt like the seasoning was on the weak side. We will return.
20-Year anniversary Lunch with Friends Ida Claire set the stage for a special 20-year lunch with friends, offering a cozy atmosphere perfect for catching up. We ordered the platter (as seen in the photo) to share, and for my personal meal, I went with the Shrimp & Grits and Lobster Mac & Cheese. Lobster Mac & Cheese – 6/10: While the dish was decent, it didn’t quite hit MY mark. The flavors were okay, but it lacked that extra richness and indulgence I was hoping for. Shrimp & Grits – 8/10: A solid dish! The shrimp were cooked well, and the grits had a good consistency. Definitely one of the better versions I’ve had. The food arrived hot, which is always a plus. The service, however, was just... there. The waiter did his job, but there was nothing particularly about the experience. And honestly, I get it—sometimes, you’re just at work. Overall, Ida Claire has a nice vibe, and I’d return to explore more of the menu. Hopefully, next time, I’ll find that dish that truly wows me!
This place is really cute and the service is always on point. The food is decent...several dishes lack flavor so I can't give more than 3 stars. However the fried green tomatoes, crab cake, and vice cake are superstars and will keep me coming back just for those! Of note, even of its brunch you can order from the dinner menu if you ask. I've had the redfish with hoppin' johhny and it was pretty good.
Came for a brunch on a Saturday and sat at the bar, food was really good - I ordered the biscuit appetizer and the French toast. Drink presentation was lovely. Despite being incredibly busy, the bartenders were attentive and helpful. The restaurant was really nice, but it does get very busy, loud and if no reservation, there could be a long wait.
We got the friend green tomatoes, which was the highlight of the meal. It was crispy outside and tasted great together with the sauce. The shrimp and grits were 4 out of 5, well seasoned and cooked properly. The only dish we didn’t fully enjoy was the steak noodle salad. Steak was cooked properly, but we weren’t a fan of the sauce they were using.
8/10 We ordered the Lemon Poppyseed Pancakes, Southern Quiche, and Ida's Buscuits. The food was served hot and relatively fast. The biscuits stood and were served with bacon jam and gravy. The pancakes were very interesting and definitely worth trying. The quiche was light but filling and definitely tasty. The coffee was acceptable, but I make better cold brew at home.
I did not expect to be entertained musically during our Bridal Shower brunch. However we were pleasantly surprised by the Playlist. Although somewhat loud, we enjoyed it. Everyone in our party enjoyed their dishes. Serviced was great, especially since that we had a large party. Great atmosphere for brunch.
Restaurant definitely has a more relaxed feel to fit into the southern aesthetic. The service was good and I really appreciate now when you pay directly at the table without the server needing to take your card. All of the drinks that we had were very good as were the biscuits. The seafood pasta was also delicious!
I had a great experience. The food was delicious. I ordered the pasta and my friend got the hot chicken and crayfish corn fritters which hit the spot. The sauce that came with the fritters was great. The music and vibe was good. I loved the ceiling and wall decors. We ordered the vice cake which was good but slightly on the sweeter end. Will come back again.
The recommendations for this restaurant were all the rave from coworkers who've eaten here before. So my expectations were very high. The inside was casual but somewhat crowded and a bit overwhelming. The tables and the seating arrangement were too close for my comfort. I chose to sit at the bar because when I arrived, it would've been a 30 minute wait for a table. This is where I met Olivia. What a sweetheart. She was attentive and very patient and provided great customer service. Now, to critique the food. I ordered the chicken and waffles. First, I want to compliment the fact that my food was fresh and hot. This is an A+ in my book. The eggs were just okay and the waffle was nice and fluffy. But, the chicken was the best. It was crispy and tender and had the perfect combination of seasoning. Absolutely delicious!! The restaurant sits on a corner and has what I considered a bit awkward parking. There were several instances where other cars were just sitting directly behind cars that were waiting to leave the parking lot. And guests were walking aimlessly in and between cars to find their vehicles. Overall, my experience wasn't all that spectacular for what I had expected, but I will order the fried chicken should I decide to visit again.
Came to this location on my birthday and started off not the best as I arrived a few minutes before breakfast ended and by the time they seated me they did not offer the breakfast menu. I ended up going with the biscuits as an appetizer and they were a great tasting, but could have been softer. I then went with the chicken & waffles and what I can say is that the eggs were not the best tasting, but the chicken was a decent amount and filling. The waffles tasted like any other waffle, so nothing more to report there...All in all I need a return trip to truly experience the breakfast menu.
Went here to celebrate a friends birthday. We were promptly sat and it was not long before we got our waiter. They were extremely friendly and polite, however as the night progressed, we waited longer and longer for food or drinks or something else. I got the Fried Chicken, and my friend got the Chicken and Waffles. The chicken was dry and didn’t have much seasoning in it. It was by no means bad, but it could have been better. We also got a charcuterie board, which was actually pretty yummy and I loved how they displayed it! Speaking of cool things, the bathrooms were super unique and I loved seeing old timey looks all over the building! Definitely have a modern southern feel! As I stated before, we waited a long time for food, for drinks, and for our check. I am also a little annoyed at how expensive the food was in total. Way more than I expected. Kind of wish I was able to get a refund. What I paid is not what we got. A little disappointed with our experience overall but it was not the worst all in all.
Went here for my Grandmothers 75th, and I was very pleased. I got the Chicken and Waffles, and they were very enjoyable. Along with the service, Zoey did an excellent job by keeping all 14 of us happy. And the atmosphere was very unique. My only note is I feel like there needs to be some more options in the menu. It was also hard to hear one another. All in all, it was still a great experience, and will go down as a great birthday celebration!
First time dining here with family was decent. They're very popular and their tables were already filled so we were seated on the outdoor patio which was nice before the rain came in. The menus they have could be improved for clarity. I ordered the summer ravioli and added chicken and requested the goat cheese on the side. I didn't get the goat cheese but the food was really good without it. It was presented beautifully although I care about the quanity and the portion size more. Family had chicken and waffles. They enjoyed them but did not like the gravy it came with. Also if we came back we'd have to remember to request the scrambled eggs hard. The burger, ribs, and wood grilled chicken that the rest of the family had looked really good. Also the cornbread was mentioned as really good. I'm normally not interested in fine dining or modern eclectic dining but I would try it again because it was better than I thought it would be.
Came here to have Brunch with my sister! Food was pretty good! I had to return my first order (Shrimp and Grits)and replaced it with the Chicken and Waffles. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. Our waitress was professional and very attentive! I would come back with the hopes of a 5 star experience!
I've been to Ida Claire a couple times, but my most recent visit was disappointing. While all the staff are very friendly, I was less than impressed with my food. I got Ida's fried chicken with a side of Mac and cheese. The fried chicken was extremely dry, not very flavorful, and the fried coating is very thin. In addition, the mac and cheese is just as lackluster. The cheese sauce was very thin with very little cheese flavor. All the sauce had puddled at the bottom. Even after stirring the noodles, it was still a very unsatisfactory experience. In my previous visits, while I wasn't blown away by the food, I also wasn't as disappointed.
We recently brought a group of 16 people here, and overall the experience was okay, but definitely not great..especially for a larger party. I called in advance to plan everything out, and they did require a contract for the party, which I completely understand and was fine with. During those conversations, I was told they were very flexible and willing to work with us. Unfortunately, that didn’t end up being the case once we arrived. One of the biggest issues was with the checks. I had let them know ahead of time that we would need separate checks to help avoid confusion and make things easier on the server. However, when it came time to pay, it took about 45 minutes just to separate them, and when the checks finally came out, almost everyone’s bill was incorrect. Our server was clearly flustered and didn’t seem to know how to handle the situation. To help move things along, I suggested she just go around and ask each person what they ordered so we could sort it out ourselves. What was most disappointing was the lack of support from management. Ashley, the manager, came across as very standoffish and offered little to no solutions while her server was obviously overwhelmed. I’ve honestly never seen a manager leave their staff to struggle like that without stepping in to help. It was a poor example of leadership and made an already stressful situation worse. The food itself was decent…not bad, but nothing memorable or worth going out of your way for. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was a terrible experience, but I definitely would not recommend this restaurant for a larger party based on how things were handled.
Foods amazing the first time we were there. Recently tried to get lunch at this place. We were decent size table but we're waiting for a table 1.5 hrs and even after all the wait the table was promised after an hour. I understand that restaurant is busy, don't make ppl wait if you can't manage incoming guests, turn them away saying that you are full for the day or something. Being a successful establishment and comes with responsibility, and treating customers with respect, doesn't look this place is doing it anymore. There are so many restaurants in town that politely say no to guests at the same time don't lose respect, in fact it's a good thing that makes you feel like you may want to come back again. This time Ida Claire lost few customers for good. I hope the management takes responsibility and get better time management. If there was negative points for Google reviews I will gladly give them a few to the on-site manager that day.
This was my first time at Ida Claire and I won't be back or recommending this restaurant in the future. The restaurant ambience is nice but that the only thing I liked. The server who took our order was nice but a bit spacey especially since the restaurant wasn't busy at the time. We arrived around 3:30 pm before the dinner rush and informed them about our reason for coming was to celebrate a birthday. We placed our order shortly after arriving. Around an hour later, they came back to the table and told us they weren't sure what happened but our order was never placed. They informed us that they would up a rush on the order and have the manager come speak with us about compensation. When the manager arrived at our table, they knelt down in a condescending manner then treated our situation as insignificant and dismissable. After the long wait, our food arrived and we had ordered (2) chicken and waffles with over medium eggs. The eggs came over easy and cold. When it came time to pay, there was no compensation given and server was very push when trying to get payment, we didn't complain further and just left. We were highly disappointed with the level of recovery and effort that could have been made. Making a scene shouldn't warrant items.

Ida Claire: Southern Soul and Whimsy in Addison
Right here in Addison, there's a spot that feels less like a restaurant and more like a trip back in time, or perhaps to a wonderfully eccentric relative's home. That’s Ida Claire for you. Step inside, and you’re immediately enveloped by a world of vintage treasures, antique pieces, and a whimsical, almost clairvoyant-themed decor that makes you feel a fortune teller might just pop out from behind a velvet curtain. It’s an atmosphere that’s simply fantastic, setting the stage for a truly memo
