⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Los Braseros on North Lamar is hands down the best authentic Mexican food you will eat in Austin, TX. Every time I come here, the food is consistently amazing and full of flavor. The chilaquiles are always fresh, perfectly made, and the meat is incredibly tasty and cooked just right—you can truly tell the quality and care put into each dish. On top of the amazing food, the waiters and servers are all so great and incredibly welcoming, from the moment they bring out the salsas and chips all the way until the check. The service truly makes the experience even better. If you’re looking for real, authentic Mexican food that never disappoints, I 100% recommend coming here. This place is a gem!
I literally drove all down Lamar looking for a Mexican restaurant. I've come to this restaurant before and had soup, but the breakfast tacos are top-notch—the best tacos that I’ve had in Austin. The tortilla is freshly cooked, and the wonderful gentleman who helped me was amazing, kind, and nice. I don’t remember his name because I forget everything.
Food always tast good, drinks are delicious. Thier is not alot of parking though. But decorations are great

I checked out Los Braseros Mexican Restaurant and really enjoyed it. I ordered the Molletes to start and then went with Enchiladas Supremas and Shrimp Tacos for my main — the flavors were bold, the portions generous, and everything felt homey and satisfying. Their Chile Con Queso Compuesto also stood out — creamy with just enough kick. The staff were friendly and worked quickly, and the ambiance felt like a warm neighborhood Mexican spot. It’s the kind of place you can go to relax, dig into good food, and leave feeling full and happy.
DELICIOSO!!! We had Los Braseros cater the food for our Mexican women's conference, so that means 150 Mexican women DEVOURED the chiles rellenos they served!! They delivered on time, food was hot and the tortillas, rice, beans, salsa and chips that came with our tailored package were portioned well. Our only mistake was ordering half the chiles cheese and half picadillo, because everyone wanted to have BOTH!! We will definitely call on their great service again!!
The chilaqules were some of the best I've ever had, including in Guanajuato, Mexico! Superb con huevos. Will definitely be back! Lalo, our server, as well as the rest of the staff were attentive and kind and made us feel welcome. Musicians playing in the restaurant and the colorful decor contributed to an overall lovely experience.
Me & friend eat here at least once a week. The staff is always so nice! The service is fast and the food is very good! The menudo is the best I've ever had in a restaurant, and Very affordable. We always enjoy this place. All the waiters are great. Thank you Lalo you're awesome 👌

Enjoyed our dinner here very much. The Molcajete was so delicious, especially loved all the sauce/veggie/meat mixture bubbling in the bottom, amazing taste… but the shrimp / camarones on top were super as well. I’d drive a long way for their Molcajete (as it was, we travelled from Tacoma, WA). Everything else we tried was good, my wife liked her menudo very well, pitcher of margaritas was okay to good, nothing special. Service was good except there was a bit too long a wait for 2nd batch of free chips, had to chase down and request on an only semi busy day. There was a 5-8 minute wait for a table despite visible open tables (maybe reservations?). Staff seemed nice, bar looked cool. There was no mariachi band mid-afternoon on Sunday. Wanted to give 4.5 stars but loved the Molcajeteso much, it overcame the minor stuff, so I give 5 stars. We’ll definitely come back here some day. Note there are some old photos posted herein showing a former name of this restaurant.
Service was great and our food came out quickly. Ordered carne guisada, huevos rancheros and molletes and all tasted soooo good! I also love their agua de jamaica. And on another day we went and had mole, caldo de mariscos and carne asada and it was all delicious!

Beautiful art work on the walls and chairs. Food was delicious and beer ice cold. The lively atmosphere was a big plus with a full Mariachi band. 😎

I had the pleasure of dining at Los Braseros Mexican Restaurant in Austin, Texas, and it was an exceptional experience. The staff welcomed us warmly and served complimentary nachos with three varieties of flavorful sauces to start the meal—a delightful surprise and a great way to set the tone for the evening. For the main course, I ordered a dish that was both visually appealing and delicious. The vibrant flavors of the cheesy enchiladas, perfectly sautéed mushrooms, and well-seasoned Mexican rice combined beautifully on the plate. The refried beans were creamy and rich, providing a comforting balance to the bold flavors. The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and inviting, making it an ideal spot for enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine. Every element of the experience, from the service to the quality of the food, exceeded my expectations. If you’re in Austin and craving some amazing Mexican food, I highly recommend giving Los Braseros a visit. I will definitely be back to try more dishes from the menu!
This place is very home cooking mexican food. Very delicious and reasonable price. The fajitas for tow are great. And a very large portion lots to take home. Appetizer fajitas and tres leches and drinks $60 100% good
We had a really good time here. Everyone speaks Spanish, which is a little tough for a gringa like me, but my husband speaks Spanish, and also our waiter spoke English to me. The menu is huge, so I got some help from the waiter and she suggested the chicken with onions, peppers, and cheese (pechuga monterrey) and it was very delicious, and was plenty to eat plus leftovers. My husband got the enchiladas Bandera which he said was tasty, although the cheese enchilada with cheese sauce was a little much--he wishes he would have chosen the meats instead of the default beef in the red sauce, chicken in green sauce, and cheese in cheese sauce. That being said, he really enjoyed the chicken in green sauce. There was a little band that sang live, which was fun, but they were very near our table so that the volume was too loud. They only played a few songs before moving on, though. The decoration and lighting is all out in this place. We'll be back.
This place was a split decision and while we were driving by decided to stop I'm and eat, I must say this was a fantastic decision. The food here was phenomenal, I got chicken fajitas and they didn't not disappoint, delicious to the very last bite. My wife and son got enchiladas and those were amazing too. The bar drinks were stout and served cold. We will be definitely returning.

I ordered the torta. Nothing really to write home about. The fries tasted like old freezer. My dad’s enchiladas were mediocre. Tasted like canned sauce. The chips and salsa were great tho. The waitress was okay. Didn’t refill drinks or chips. Just asked if we were okay. The atmosphere is alot going on. Very colorful and ornate and loud music. Also I think maybe the ceiling was leaking?
My only true issue with this place is the front door not having any windows— that made me feel too closed in. Other than that, the service was great, and the food was okay for the most part. Not a big fan of the chicken enchiladas, they were simple and lacked a lot of flavor. However, the shrimp cocktail was absolutely flavorful and perfect. Plenty of shrimp, sauce, and veggies; 9/10 for that dish alone. 7/10 overall, could be better.
