Estela's Fresh Sandwiches

I go here at least once a week to get a fix! I live very close by and believe me, it is by far the best place to grab a quick lunch if you are in Lower Haight. They have a fantastic selection of delicious sandwiches but I usually end up ordering the Avalon as it is so good. The sandwiches are huge and very good value for money; the smoothies are also really nice. There is not a lot of seating there however, so I usually get my order to go and head to Duboce park 2 mins away.

Yummm! I ordered the veggie muffuletta and it was exactly what a sandwich should be. Generous proportion of filling to bread. An explosion of textures and flavors, wonderfully messy, filling and delicious. Can’t wait to try another sandwich here! :p

Only tried the smoothie but it was super yummy. They had a pretty comprehensive menu to build your own smoothies just the way you like them and finished making it pretty fast. Really can't complain.

The vegetarian sandwiches at Estela's are delicious and aren't your run-of-the-mill sandwiches available at most delis. The closest comparison may be to Ike's Place. Unlike Ike's, Estela's unfortunately does not have mock meat, such as vegan breaded chicken, bacon, and meatballs. As amazing as the veggie sandwiches at Estela's are, they do not provide the vegetarian meaty protein that Ike's provides.

Got a half size Italian sandwich here which was very fresh and also huge! The owner is one of the nicest people I've met. Place is small with limited seating but clean. Lots of options on the menu including vegetarian sandwiches, salads and smoothies.

I’ve been a regular at estelas for three years! My favorite order is the veggie muffuletta with sourdough and smoked Gouda. They have awesome vegetarian options and the salads are great as well. Perfect sandwich place to have in the neighborhood.

Large, good quality, tasty sandwiches. We pre-ordered 8 of them, almost all different ones for a family event. Each sandwich came labeled with name and menu item number to make it easy to identify which sandwich was which, and were prepared to the timing we asked for. The manager Mark was a pleasure to work with on the phone and everything was smooth and easy. Would order from them again next time we're in town. Note that none of the online ordering sites are theirs, but you can view the menus there then call them directly to order.

Great little sandwich spot. We love getting their sandwiches on the way to a picnic. Extensive menu with loads of options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. My personal favorite is the smoked out. I used to always switch my bread choice to ditch crunch for every sandwich, since it's my favorite, but have come to trust the recommended bread choice - they know what they're talking about. They also have coffee and smoothies.

I like this little, family run place. They have a lot of rather healthy sandwich options. Also, they serve fresh juices and smoothies that are made of fresh vegetables and fruits right there in front of you. If you want some serious fresh juice, forget all the overpriced chains they might even water up their drinks - here they use only real ingredients. And the prices are fair too.

I was surprised they opened so early, and were making sandwiches already! Both of us thought the Winterland sounded delicious, so we ordered and sandwiches were made in a jiffy. Our turkey, avocado, cranberry sauced sandwich was delicious and huge. What surprised us more was our sandwiches didn't get soggy after being in the backpacks for almost 5 hours and the avocados were still bright green with no browning at all! We will definitely be making this our new go-to quick sandwich-fix spot!

Also, they serve fresh juices and smoothies that are made of fresh vegetables and fruits right there in front of you. If you want some serious fresh juice, forget all the overpriced chains they might even water up their drinks - here they use only real ingredients. And the prices are fair too.

I️ received a variety of at least day old breads that ranged from bagels, to focaccia to standard sliced wheat bread and sadly they’d all lost most of their flattering components. Given the positive google reviews from more normal purchases I️ was hopeful that a small sandwich would be provided. It seems like Estela’s has nice offerings and using TooGoodToGo can be a good means to market what they’re known for at discounted prices to potential customers rather than simply giving away that which was unwanted. Perhaps shift pickup time to the last hour before closing like many shops do so a sandwich can be provided.

0 stars! My company ordered Estela’s via Forkable and ALL OF OUR SALADS had live bugs all over them. Small black bugs in every single salad. It was truly horrendous - likely the lettuce? I would not recommend.

Was referred to this place by TooGoodToGo to fight waste. But all they gave me was assorted, stale and hard and stinking bread. I paid for the food but they treated me like they were giving it for free. I don’t know how long the bread has been there for. I was trying to help fight food waste but the food they offered was very bad meant for going to the compost. Would rather go to a grocery store for fresh bread. If you are ordering from TooGoodToGo just avoid this place. I wish I could rate lower.

I paid for the food but they treated me like they were giving it for free. I don’t know how long the bread has been there for. I was trying to help fight food waste but the food they offered was very bad meant for going to the compost. Would rather go to a grocery store for fresh bread. If you are ordering from TooGoodToGo just avoid this place. I wish I could rate lower.

The sandwiches are OK, but the service is HORRIBLE! It took about 20 to place an order when I was the only one there. They had to ask me five times what I wanted on my sandwich. Then had to restart the iPad they were taking orders on. And somehow managed to be rude throughout the ordeal.
