Gone here with my grandparents since I was a kid, they’ve got a great menu and great gelato. Great service too, no surprise that they’ve been here for 40 years
I've been going here for over 10 years. The owner is very passionate about his craft. They offer a vast array of flavors, both traditional and unique. This particular Gelato is the best and most authentic tasting I've ever had. I highly recommend at least giving it a try.
The 1st time I tried Gelato was in this store in the mid-80s. I've enjoyed Gelato at other locations since then but this store has the biggest selection and is always stocked. The store is always clean and the servers are always pleasant. I live in SoCal now but when I'm in the bay area visiting family, I make my way to this very special store for the best Italian Icecream.
Omg I have history at their spot it's outta this world used to have many more flavors but business has slowed help me help them. My wife and I used to go here in Highschool! It's still here!! I was floored still delicious as ever I hope they bring back the Rose Tea flavor was a fave back in the day ... Check em out parking is great populated area very safe...
Yummy ice cream. The dark chocolate flavor was really good. They don't offer sampling. Can't speak for other flavors. Tried a few but I didn't like them for my taste buds
First time today. Went with some friends and the lady working there was really sweet and friendly. The customer in front of us was also super nice and paid for our Gelato. Very nice experience. Will come back as soon as I have the chance.
I love the Italian Gelato both with or without cream. Great taste ! However there I saw only one person serving it customers on Sunday evening, causing a little delay. But the warmth in wide range of Icecreams, Tea and Coffee compensates for it.
As classic as it can get. An old time nostalgic ice cream joint in the smack middle of Fremont. New Owner ,but same great Gelato just as I had it back in the 90's. Dad use to take my sister and I. We are a Newark relics lol.
Missed coming here since pandemic; now that they reopened, it was like we never left going to visit. Gelato tastes so much better after not going for two years. As always, great selection and awesome experience!
LITERALLY the BEST ice cream you will EVER have! The prices are high but for the best and top quality it's VERY worth it! Lots of flavors, let alone other options like Afogato, Italian Sodas, drinks with mixed in Gelato, a sunday... DEFINATLY worth the stop!
I’m so glad this place survived the pandemic, it’s always one of my first stops when I come back to town for the holidays. The owner is the sweetest woman and is always super kind and friendly. I would love to eventually try one of everything - the gelato is THAT GOOD.
Love going here. It's been a Fremont landmark for a long time. I hope it will be around for a lot longer as the city grows. Some of the best gelato around. The man who runs it is kind and welcoming. I always recommend this place to my friends and people visiting from out of town. Definitely worth a visit, especially after Italian food.
Absolutely EXCELLENT experience! I own a travel agency and I am addicted to affogatos! I have had them all over the world, including Italy multiple times. This one was "exceptional" and very authentic. I came home and read all the articles and they were spot on, not fluff or just copy fill, they definitely stand behind the print about them. I cannot wait to go back, but until then I will work on the pints I purchased. And the staff - what a lovely young lady (missed her name) that responded when I said "I'll be back" - "I'll be here." Very impressed.
Really good ice creams! They are visually appealing, and tasting even better! The lady serving them was very sympathetic and would definitely recommend trying the place (currently they are doing some renovations though, and the place dies not look like normally though!) Flavors to try: raspberry and salted caramel!
This is the best ice cream in the East Bay, period. All the ice cream shops that have been springing up in the area don't even come close. Gelato Classico meets, or exceeds, the gelato you get in Italy. These other jokers have your typical sugar laden flavors with way to much air and other additives in their ice creams. The only other ice cream that is equally as good, with slightly less air, is Fiorello's Artisan Gelato out of San Rafael. That stuff is amazing too!
Deliciously unique flavors and the quality of gelato+wafer is great. The store is too small for lingering with a crowd, but they also have some outdoor seating, if you don't mind the parking lot and trash bin view. The folks are always willing to give flavor samples if you can't decide what to get.
I’ve been living in Fremont and never knew that there is a gelato place here. It’s a very rainy day today and probably no one comes by there because of it I think, but I decided to come here to try gelato. Not really going to be bothered by the design of this place since most ice cream shops are like that, however, the taste of the gelato matters. I really love the selections of gelatos and how they’re displayed. It reminds me of going to Vegas and seeing gelatos being displayed in a way that they take up like 150% of the containers. I want to get Tiramisu since it’s my favorite dessert. It tastes really good and got a small size since I just ate at a restaurant. I am hoping that there are more gelato areas around the Fremont area and would to come back here again to try other flavors!
Nice little shop in Fremont. Gelato was nice and light. Both my wife and I enjoyed our choices. I got a mix of the caramel pecan and the cappuccino chip, while she got the honey lavender
Gelato was great! Enviroment is also clean and well designed, gelato on display looked delicious, but wait time was a little long because there was only 1 worker but it was only 15 min max
I had an amazing experience! The banana walnut is my fav so far ! The owner is so nice and attentive
Have been coming here for the last 18 years & we ❤ this place! The Gelato is amazing! Would rather come here for dessert than anywhere else!🍦🍦
Amazing gelato, super nice people, 10/10 would go again. Such a nice experience and the menu has a lot of variety ^^
The STRAWBERRY is the GREATEST purest richest flavor of strawberry I have ever had in my life. Never had Gelato before and tried it here. I go to get a pint EVERYTIME. WOOOOO!
The Gelato here is amazing as well as the mocha. Also bought the tiramisu coffee cake and was a 10. Definitely coming back soon.

There are lots of gelato flavors to choose from. The small size is enough to satisfy your craving
A Taste of Tradition: A Gelato Expert's Take on Gelato Classico Italian Ice Cream Fremont, CA – For a connoisseur of authentic Italian gelato, stepping into a new gelateria is always a blend of hopeful anticipation and critical assessment. Gelato Classico Italian Ice Cream, a name that suggests a commitment to tradition, recently came under my discerning palate. After a thorough tasting experience, I can attest that this is a gelateria that largely lives up to its classic name, offering a delightful journey into the heart of Italy's most beloved frozen dessert. From the moment you approach the counter, the vibrant hues of the gelato, nestled in their gleaming steel "pozzetti," are a promising sign. This traditional method of storing gelato, shielded from light and air, is a hallmark of a serious establishment dedicated to preserving the integrity of its product. The ambiance is that of a classic Italian ice cream parlor – clean, welcoming, and with the sweet, enticing aroma of gelatos freshly made. But the true test, of course, lies in the gelato itself. As a specialist, I look for several key indicators of quality: a dense, velvety texture with no discernible ice crystals; intense, true-to-ingredient flavors; and a clean finish on the palate. I began with a classic, the Pistacchio. A true measure of any gelateria, the pistachio gelato here was a revelation. Its color was a muted, natural green, a far cry from the luridly dyed versions often found elsewhere. The flavor was authentically nutty and robust, with the distinct, slightly savory notes of real Sicilian pistachios. The texture was impeccably smooth and dense, a testament to a slow churning process that incorporates minimal air – the very essence of artisanal gelato. Next, I sampled the Dark Chocolate, another benchmark flavor it was clean and creamy, with a delicate sweetness that allowed the fine, irregular shards of high-quality dark chocolate to shine. The chocolate shattered pleasingly with each spoonful, a delightful textural contrast to the silky gelato. This was not a mere chocolate chip ice cream; this was a sophisticated and well-executed classic. To explore their fruit offerings, I opted for the raspberry. A good raspberry should taste of pure, unadulterated fruit, and Gelato Classico's version did not disappoint. The flavor was bright and intense, capturing the essence of ripe, seasonal raspberries. The texture was smooth and refreshing, without the iciness that can plague inferior sorbetti. It was a perfect palate cleanser, vibrant and true to its source. What sets Gelato Classico apart is its evident commitment to high-quality, natural ingredients. The flavors are not masked by excessive sweetness but are allowed to express themselves fully. The density of the gelato is noteworthy, a satisfying weight on the tongue that speaks to its low overrun (the amount of air whipped into the product). While the classics are executed with precision, the shop also offers a selection of more contemporary flavors, demonstrating a willingness to innovate while respecting tradition. Service was knowledgeable and patient, with staff happy to share information about their flavors. This passion for the product is a crucial ingredient in the overall experience. In a world of mass-produced frozen treats, Gelato Classico Italian Ice Cream stands out as a bastion of quality and tradition. It is a place where the art of gelato-making is clearly understood and respected. For the discerning gelato lover, or for anyone seeking a truly authentic taste of Italy, a visit to Gelato Classico is not just recommended; it is essential. This is gelato as it should be: a dense, flavorful, and utterly satisfying experience.
The quality of the gelato is very rich and tasty, loved it! And the lady working there is very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back!
Was my first time here Lorena was super nice and very patient with me I couldn’t decide what flavor and a big plus was that she spoke Spanish will be coming here very often gained a customer thanks to Lorena I invite everyone to come you won’t be disappointed Disappointment:)
Wonderful little gelato shop managed by an equally wonderful lady. She always endeavors to make her shop clean and provides exceptional customer service. The fan favorite flavors are almost always available and she is willing to try out new flavors in place of the less popular ones, so there is more than enough reason to make multiple visits. I highly recommend this place!

The ice cream here is really yummy! I always go for the Cappuccino flavor. It's amazing!! BUT everytime I've been there during morning opening hours, (weekdays it's 12pm) they are never open on time. I've waited until 12:30pm but no one shows up!
Okay so I have been going here from when I was a kid and there was still a movie theatre in the same parking area. There has been a real decrease in the number of good ice cream shops in the area... but these guys are still open. It says under new management and I think many people were turned off by the owner who at the time could be rude. Gelato in the supermarket just never seems as good as what they have, so get your steps on... walk up and down the office stairs a few extra times and give it a try some time! Forgive the occasionally grumpy man and appreciate a unique desert I can't find with this type of selection elsewhere in the area. Its gelato you must smile. If you like coffee or chocolate they have some really rich flavors. Though the vanilla bean is wonderful in its simplicity.
We used to go to the farther and older one on Castro in Mountain View until we found out there was one so much closer. The staff is super friendly. Sometimes when lines get a tad longer, the service can slow down a little bit. They have a wide variety of flavors. Our favorites are the Hazelnut and Pistachio. Tiramisu is good too.
We go here at least once a month. Awesome flavors and really good quality. It seems like a one woman show so sometimes the shop is closed when google/their door hours show they should be open.
It's priced ok, the gelato tastes good. Been here for years and usually try to stop by once a year and pick up a couple containers worth. It's pricey, but the consistency and flavors beat what you're going to get at a grocery store.
Variety of flavours. I tried caramel pecan & lychee. They do offer half & half scoop which is great if you are always confused on which flavor to get. They are currently not offering at sampling though. Store was clean & nice with clear sight on all the flavours. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for good, delicious & flavourful gelato.
There's a few delicious ice cream options in the area, but for gelato, here's your best option. With quite the offerings of flavors, friendly staff, and delicious naturally flavored ingredients, I love this long standing establishment in Fremont. Don't forget the crispy wafer.
Gelato is quite popular place for ice cream The atmosphere and the staff are not that great. The ice cream tasted good Tried lychee and mocha flavors and both were good There was no rush on a Sunday noon I would recommend this place for ice cream Note : No sampling
Tons of choices and its always a treat for us to be here. Flavours are hit and miss

I had a double scoop of espresso and cookies and cream. The flavor was mid and it had some ice to it. I wouldnt recommend for a detour but its ok if youre in the area.
Among the 40 odd flavors available, it's hard to choose for sure. However, we settled on pistachio and strawberry with choco chips. I liked strawberry with choco chips but pistachio was just about average, as the taste wasn't prominent enough. Overall, it's a nice space with seating available inside. The lady at the counter was nice and helpful! You could give this place a try.

Stuffy and too hot inside. Staff not very friendly. They don't do samples and I now no why: the gelato is just not very good. Dulce de leches had almost no flavor, neither did pistachio. The two other flavors we had (chocolate hazelnut and lychee) were just ok. I wish we'd bought Ben and Jerry's at the grocery store instead.
Incorrect business hours. This is the 3rd time we come here to find the store closed coz google business hours is not updated.
We were there at 12:15pm on a Sunday, which according to their hours online and at the door, they open at 12:00pm. We were outside knocking on the window and the lady inside was either blatantly ignoring or just didn’t see/hear us. I called the store, heard the phone ringing from the inside and the lady still didn’t pick up the phone. We’ve enjoyed Gelato Classico many times and would’ve loved to enjoy some today but if you say you’re open, then be open otherwise update your hours.
The gelatos are excellent. The only issue is that they barely let you try anything. Also, their timings are unreliable. I've been there multiple times when they were supposed to be open but they were closed. Amazing Gelato though
I got one medium cup with the Spumoni and Creme brulee flavors. Did not like it too much. They have a policy of "No Samples" so I was stuck with 2 flavors I did not enjoy. Good news is that it isn't too sweet, which I liked. Great for people watching that sugar Intake. Would not recommend Creme brulee or Spumoni
This place has gotten less inviting over the years. When you walk in, one freezer is empty and it looks like it's about to go out of business. They have fewer flavors and some they have in a different freezerwh8ch you can't see. It seems you'd want customers to see all the options. They no longer offer samples.

They were closed even though we were there around 6 Pm.
Stuffy and too hot inside. Staff not very friendly. You can not even try a sample because there is a big sign NO SAMPLE SORRY. The Gelato Classico product is delicious but I would rather drive to another Gelato Classico Italian Parlor and enjoy.
Customer service was really bad they give me wrong flavor when I asked to replace the lady working there said no we are not going to change it don't recomned to anyone
