Tried out chicken express menu which contained Kabuli rice, chicken kabab, one piece of naan and salad. The price was 12.99 dollar at that time. The food was tasty and the quantity was more than one could eat. The restaurant staff was friendly and cordial. Recommended to anyone, especially anyone is looking for halal food.

My husband and I ordered here for the first time last week. Now we are obsessed! It’s all so fresh and absolutely delicious! I wish that they would hold a cooking class because some of these flavors are just unreal. We will definitely be ordering again (we already have twice in a week)

Went to Afghan Kabab for takeout lunch. Walk in, the restaurant is on the left in the plaza. I ordered the Chicken Kebab and a Snapple drink. Came to $14. You get a mini salad with the dish which is nice. The dish itself was really great. The chicken was very flavorful had a nice spice to it but not overpowering. The green sauce is amazing. Dunking the chicken in it made it so much better. The Pita bread was ok nothing special same as the salad. The rice was also nothing special, cooked well. But the chicken with the sauce, awesome. Highly recommend getting food here.

The Tourist Trip

I can't believe I waited this long to review one of my favorite restaurants in Albany! This "hole in the wall" Afghan food is splendid. It's a discreet little series of shops and Middle Eastern restaurants right on Central Ave. The food is absolutely delicious, mostly consisting of kabobs of different meats. My personal favorite is the simple chicken over rice dish which is only $7 at the time of this writing. Regardless of your order, be sure to try their red, green and white sauce all have a unique flavor and are a luxury to the taste buds. They only have canned soda, so I'd recommend trying some Afghan Doogh drink or tea. It's a quiet, small casual environment. Enjoy!

Our lunch experience at this restaurant was a satisfying one. We dined with family. The place is simple with minimal decor and basic seating. While we placed our order at the counter, the food was served at the table without much waiting. The lamb shank over rice was very good so also the other dishes. Reasonable portions and quite authentic flavors made the dining special. Priced reasonably, one can enjoy a hearty meal for as little as $20.

It's not often I find an Afghan restaurant, so when I saw this on our trip to Albany I wanted to try it. My husband and I shared: - Falafel Pita Wrap - Badenjan - Mix Gyro Over Rice - Bolani I enjoyed everything, but my two favorite things were the Bolani and the Mix Gyro Over Rice. We got takeout and all of it held up very well with takeout.

Their chicken kababs are best in town. I love their falafal and chicken over rice too. very authentic food and very cheap too. If u go for dinner, be aware where u park ur car. The neighborhood is not so safe. Our car was broken once fo steal the handbag on rear seat.
