Just as I parked, a large 20+ graduation group filed in. As they were being seated, I waited my turn at the counter to place a take out order. The restaurant can seat 2 large parties + I think they had 4-6 booths. The polite young gentleman took my order, informed me of the time it may take. I waited 1/2 the time. The food was fresh, delicious, full of flavor. My guy said his lamb gyro was the best he ever had. I ordered the mixed kebab over rice. The portion was generous - enough for 2 people. Will definitely recommend. We’ll be going back again.
Super fast service and the Lamb over rice dish was Amazing
Me and my family have been eating here occasionally at least once a month, it's always consistently good quality food. Deserves all the best. اللهم بارك
I loved the take out food, lamb and chicken. The rice is flavored nicely. Will have to go in person next time. I enjoyed the red hot sauce.
Returning customer. Always enjoy the lamb over rice. Definitely recommend.
Great food!great prices! and Great portions. My new favorite halal place. Absolutely delicious. Some of our group are picky eaters and they enjoyed it too. Good for all different pallats, food is fresh and the lamb was soooo tender. Better than other places I've had!
Ordered a lamb gyro for pickup here today. I was impressed with the portion size for the money I paid. The food had some minor issues (too much meat in comparison to veggies, meat could have been seasoned a little bit more) but overall I'd come back to try the rest of their offerings.
This place is really come along way in the last couple months. They’re much faster than they used to be and they almost always have orders ready ahead of time now also, their cheeseburgers are surprisingly good.
Aria kebab was one of our go to spots in Queens, New York until that one closed down so it was a delightful surprise to come across this one. The food was the same, kind of excellent that it was back home. It was just hard to find a good spot to sit where there was decent AC/fan air flow. Try to use cash to pay because you’ll get a code cash discount”
Perfect meal !! Just came for the second time and the food tastes yummy. Clean and fresh. Came from other city just to eat here. The chicken burger is just woww.
Amazing food excellent staff. Best afghani restaurant in upstate.
Unbelievable food. I have the Chicken tikka & Beef Kofta platter. Spot on food. I’m in the food industry and could tell they put love in the food. Great representation of Afghanistan.🇦🇫 I asked for a extra piece of bread and they insisted on me taking it for free, shows that the Afghan respect to its guest is still a tradition. Anyone writing negative review already had their mind made of writing a negative review prior to walking in. No flaws in my eyes ! Keep feeding the capital region with the food we grew up on.
Absolutely fantastic food. This is the best Afghan food I've had in my life. The staff is great and the building is so cute and always very clean. I love the family style eating they set up for you when you dine in. If I could eat here everyday I would!!!
Wow ! Just had this for first time it was seriously Unbelievable. The chicken sandwich is MASSIVE and the breading has unbelievable crunch and flavor. Chicken Shawarma wrap is also delicious. I woulda been happy if the chicken samdwhich was double the price 😭
I've tried a few halal places around Albany, but the food at Aria Kabab just kicks. Their meat is so tender, flavorful, and delicious. I love getting their rice platters and the lamb shawarma sandwich; it really reminds me of the times when I used to live in Hyderabad, India. Also, a huge fan of their sauces! I also loveeeee the quantity of the portions.
I chose the Mixed (lamb and chicken) over rice and I promise you it will never let you down. Amazing people and very friendly. Great environment and very clean! The food is always spot on and delicious 😋🤤 I figured that after my tenth visit I should write them a review! I will be back again and again! I love that they provide the sauces so you can use the amount you prefer. It's my favorite spot, I can't say enough great things about Aria Kabab!!!
Our first experience with Aria Kabab is absolutely fruitful. The restaurant symbolizes Afghan culture and justify the publicity outside on the windows. Dine in was pretty much cold for us.. lol but we can ignore that since food taste made all that cold go away. We ordered mix gyro over kabli rice, chicken over kabli rice and lamb over kabli rice. It took them 15 to 20 minutes to serve us and which could be because they were making it fresh. After tasting the food it tasted freshly cooked and authentic. Highly recommend Kabli rice if buying any rice dish. They are something, as you can tell through the pictures. Chao 😎
My husband and I went here for lunch, and we were very impressed! I ordered the lamb over rice, and the meat was so tender and flavorful! The red sauce was nice and spicy, and the white sauce complimented the whole dish well. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the restaurant is conveniently located off busy Central Ave on a street with a light (so making a left isn't impossible). Highly recommended!
The chicken tikka and chicken kofta over rice is one of the best I have ever had. So flavorful and juicy. Would also recommend chicken shawarma over rice. The portion size is great and they also offer different sauces along with hummus and salad. Staff is very nice and polite. Would definitely recommend this place.
The meal I had here was so good. I ordered from their website and chose the mixed shawarma (that’s both chicken and lamb because I couldn’t make up my mind). The portion was very generous and it came with a side salad and a heap of hummus. And I agree with a previous reviewer that the hummus is fantastic, I would say best I’ve had. All said, I think will becoming back often!
I eat at Aria Kabab 2-3 times a week. This food is THE BEST. I am fortunate enough to have an office close to Aria. The staff are always pleasant and always make sure you have enough food on your plate. Everything is done to perfection. The place is kept very clean as well. If you are looking for great halal food this is the place. I highly recommend dining in but I have also done takeout and it is still just as good. I will be coming to Aria Kebab for the rest of my life. No matter who you are or where you come from this place is a must try at the very least.
Cute little restaurant with lots of options, there's something for everyone. Generous servings for the price, an authentic cuisine with several "western" options like wings, burgers, and chicken tenders. Employees are knowledgeable and friendly. Food was ready quickly and tasted delicious. We got the shawarma plate and the chicken and beef kofta. I love that their to go boxes are microwave safe and recyclable. Highly recommend.
I’ve had the pleasure of eating here plenty of times now and I can confidently say every time is an unforgettable experience! The quality of their food is top tier! It’s clear that they take great pride in sourcing the best ingredients and cook with so much love. The family that owns the restaurant is so incredibly wonderful and friendly!! They have made us feel like part of their family. Thank you and I can’t wait to return again soon!!
I ordered today 1/16/26 mix gyro roll It’s super yummy Love it
Food is always good here, we ate in once and they were pretty accommodating with us and our kids. Would go back anytime for the combo chicken/lamb over rice
Stopped at Aria Kabab Albany for some dinner to go. Got chicken over rice and a side of hummus. The hummus is delicious (pic in the comment). Tastes like they use lemon in it which is my favorite kind of hummus. The chicken is very good too and the rice is not over cooked. Don't love their white sauce. It's too tangy for me and more like mayo. I would definitely come back for the hummus alone.
The best kabulli paluo rice and lamb. A very delicious and healthy restaurant to dine with family or take out. Genenerally serves great halaal food Alhamdulillah.
This is like my first or second google review ever I don’t do food reviews but this chicken over rice was so good I had to . I love the way the flavors come together and although it’s chicken over rice it still has that ethnic , cultural taste to it . Some places will dumb down their spices to others likings but halal food is supposed to have a specific , Bold taste and I love this lol I’m Hispanic but I love all kinds of food and the girl at the counter was very sweet 💕
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We had chicken platter with hummus, rice, and salad and the lamb gyro. I loved the gyro, the hummus, and all the sauces.
Insanely good!!! this is our go-to place every time we order. we had never tried afghan food before, but after we tried this place we were hooked. we always get either the lamb & chicken platter or the gyros/mix gyro over rice. you will not be disappointed TRUST!!
Arguably the best Afghan food I’ve ever had, I forgot to take the picture first so the dish looks a little messy. I believe I had a number 20 Shawarma mix. The food is fresh and the service here is outstanding. The staff are very friendly .This establishment uses high quality ingredients and the food is fresh. I highly recommend trying this place.
The food was a little spicier than I usually eat, but I liked it very much. The rice tasted like the curried rice that my mother used to make when I was younger. Mom's curried rice was also very spicy, but tasted similar to the rice here. I have been missing mom and her rice, so I enjoyed this very much.
Great food. I went on a search over the last year or so to find awesome falafel. The falafel platter had 5 perfectly shaped and fried falafel. It also had a fresh crunchy salad with a cucumber/pepper/onion topping and turmeric rice that was very flavorful. This is my second visit and I will definitely be returning!
At Aria Khabab, the Chrispy Chicken Burger is a standout item that promises both taste and texture. The burger features a perfectly fried chicken patty with a crispy, golden exterior that holds up well against the tender and juicy interior. The seasoning on the chicken is well-balanced, offering a blend of spices that enhances the flavor without overpowering it. The burger is assembled with fresh, crisp lettuce and ripe tomatoes, adding a refreshing crunch and subtle sweetness. The soft, toasted bun complements the sandwich nicely, providing just the right amount of structure without becoming too heavy. A dollop of creamy mayo and a tangy pickle complete the ensemble, creating a satisfying mix of flavors. Overall, Aria Khabab’s Chrispy Chicken Burger is a delicious and well-crafted choice for those seeking a hearty and flavorful fast-food option. Its crispiness and balanced ingredients make it a memorable addition to their menu.
The BEST Lamb over rice and Chicken kofta!!! SERVICE - 10/10 - The service is great and extremely polite staff. TASTE - 10/10 - The taste is 100% legit. QUANTITY - 10/10 - much better than other restaurants PRICE - 10/10 - worth every penny! They took 10 minutes to prepare my order serve. I could feel the freshness in the food. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
I had a to go order of 2 Chicken over Rice’s. I would definitely recommend it. The chicken over rice tasted amazing. Only thing I would say about it is that some sort of sauce is absolutely necessary on top of the chicken. Luckily they gave many sauces on the side so we could put whichever we liked. Also, the amount of chicken they put is insane! They put a lot of chicken for the given price. Like a whole layer of it. That is something they should definitely keep doing. If anyone wants any other recommendations, I also like the taste of Afghan Kebab. It is also located on Central Ave and their chicken over rice is also great.
Been in the area for a work travel and gave it a try. We ordered mixed gyro over rice, and combo Philly cheese steak. Very delicious and flavorful food, the staff were nice and friendly and provided a great service. Wish I lived nearby to try their food more often. I highly recommend.
First timer for dinner with the family. Not as clean as I'd have liked, the floor was a bit sticky and the table wasn't washed, but the food and service was so good I can forgive that. I usually don't. Fair prices and terrific food. A nine and seven year old liked it so you know it's good. Give it a try if you are in the mood for this type of food. Well worth it.
First time I visited them got lamb over rice and chicken over rice to test and taste. Compared to others in the area and nearby their taste was way better. Will be visiting again to check out items on the menu.
I like their lamb Chop platter. We went with friends and it was very nicely decorated interior I gave points for that. It had high expectations with food but it was not up to my standards.
Casual: You’ve got to order the lamb chops—they’re a must. The chicken was a bit dry and needed a lot of sauce to be good. Another thing to mention please try to pick up the phone calls
Food is good that’s why the 4 stars but service is really poor. They have so many people working behind counter but still food is served late and missing items. It sounded like the men were fighting because they were so loud. Not good for business. Young kids at the front don’t know the difference of first come first serve. They kept handing out food to the customers who came after us.
We order from Aria kabab frequently and their food is usually very good…. I love their burgers and sandwiches…. But the last time I ordered a shawarma wrap and it wasn’t really a shawarma…. The chicken was shredded with lots of spices which is different than regular shawarma… the cheese burger and zinger sandwiches were very good though…. I would recommend
Food is okay. Chicken Kofta was not tasty as expected. Seating area is fine but table needed to be clean after every guest.
First time ever trying it, and I live it. Definately a spice filled meal regardless of what you get so grab plenty of ranch or whatever you need if you aren't a spice lover.
Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced in this area.Came again today. Preordered- waited the 15 mins to get it and I STILL HAVE TO WAIT 15 MORE MINS TO GET MY ORDER AND NOW I DON'T HAVE ANY TIME TO EAT. I WILL NOT BE BACK!!!!!! THAN as they're wrapping up my food another person walks in they stop what they're doing with mine to help the other person I will never give this establishment my money ever again how unprofessional can a restaurant be I normally come here 2 times a week but as of lately when I order ahead, I'm still waiting to get it made, and if someone walks Qin before me I now have to wait for their orders to be made. I only have a 30 mins lunch window and on central avenue, so having to wait even 7 mins, takes up a huge portion of my lunch break, plus central ave traffic. Unfortunately because of this I will not be ordering from here in the future unless I pay the extra fee to have it delivered on time by Uber eats.
pretty good place with huge menu, you can order whatever you want! 🙃 parking is small for this place and you have to find spot around. We ordered menu #10 & #27, lamb and chicken + mixed shawurma, at first we decided dine in then we saw it’s too busy and no social distancing! changed the plan and asked for to go. I will try this place again and something different from their menu and change my rate. Y’all have lots of room for improvement… 🙂
I recently tried Aria Kabab, but unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the food as much as I had hoped. Having tasted Afghan cuisine at different places, I found that Aria Kabab didn’t quite meet the mark in terms of flavor and authenticity. However, the service was good, and the atmosphere was pleasant, which made for a decent dining experience. If you’re looking for a nice ambiance and friendly staff, this place delivers, but for top-quality Afghan food, there are better options out there.
I ordered a $28 take-away meal. The lamb and beef were overcooked, dry and burnt. I was disappointed as I heard this place served good meals with good price. Plus, the food pictures do look good.
Place has gone downhill in taste. There used to be an authentic Afghani chef who knew Shwarma and how it's cooked, finished before serving in plate. Now we get just shredded chicken by a newbie over rice. Sorry, won't be back.
I have been going to this place for 2 years and enjoyed each time I've gone. Last night at 8:30 pm I picked up a chicken over rice for my husband and after both eating from the same container I have woken up to painful food poisoning. It was the last thing we both ate and I got the poisoning worse than him. I'm very sad to end my patronage here. Please look over staff, cleanliness and procedures.
NOT A PLACE FAMILIES SHOULD GO!!! My fiancée and I were regulars here and enjoyed their food but the ownership is disgraceful. My fiancée is from Pakistan and I am not familiar with the language and the owner said to my fiancée in Push-tan which I don’t understand that she should leave me for a Push-tan man in front of me & my child and to do that to customers that regularly come and dine in is disgusting I never have experienced an act at any such place, definitely won’t be returning and don’t go if you wanna enjoy a family friendly experience instead of someone creeping on your family!
The whole restaurant smelled like bathroom pee and the tables were sticky… we sat at the booth next to the bathroom. Bad quality food and very unprofessional.
Food was absolutely DISGUSTING. I ordered a Philly steak, the meat tasted like tuna and rubber, I got a kebab over rice and the meat also tasted like rubber and like saw dust, when I came to the server and tell them about it they just looked at me and said ok. I am Afghan and this is NOT, Afghan food
Came here in Ramadan - service was slow but food was fresh and very yummy. Got chicken shawarma, chicken kofta, lamb shank, and the qabuli palao was amazing; we were excited to come back. Here again a few months later and I was faced with the worst kabobs I’ve ever had in my life (and that’s quite a statement coming from a south asian). Got the qabuli palao again as well as beef kofta and after a 30 minute wait in a pretty empty restaurant, I was unable to even finish half of one kabob. It looked picturesque, but the beef koftas tasted nothing like any meat I have ever had, it had a putrid smell and even worse texture, like a rubberized paste. I also substituted the regular rice for the palao and all they did was top the regular rice with carrots and raisins and charge me an extra $3. The piece of naan it came with was stale and the salad was soggy. I lost an hour of my time, lost $20, and left with an empty yet upset stomach. I felt so bad wasting an entire plate of food, but it was inedible.
Woman at the front was very rude. Have been coming for multiple years and ordered online and was given a completely different order then what it said it was. When I called to say this was completely different than what I ordered the woman was so nasty and rude. Will not be going back. Very unfortunate as this use to be our weekly spot.
UNACCEPTABLE! I ordered a chicken gyro and was SHOCKED to see the disgusting condition it arrived in. It felt like I'd bought poison with my money and brought it home. The rice and chicken were COLD, the chicken was HALF-COOKED, and it SMELLED BAD. This low-quality, inedible food is a total RIP-OFF. NO RECOMMENDATION.
One of the worst burgers i ever had in my life. The burger patty had mud like texture and tasted like playdough. I am amazed they charged me $10.50 for this.!!! Please zelle me back my money this was daylight theft. I had stomach issues eating ur burger it cost me $100 medicine to get relief.
