Leeana is an excellent bartender. She does her job quickly and efficiently, and with a smile. The food is very good; it is a fun place to come to eat.

I haven’t been to this one in YEARS! They were amazing then but way better now. The food is ridiculously amazing and everyone is super nice. The waitress Alex is also not only really pretty but probably the nicest one there!

Me and my husband rarely EVER get out on a date night without the kids and this was the perfect place. Laid back vibe but nice enough you can dress up a bit if you want . We got mild Buffalo wings( the sauce was a perfect...it was the right mix between make my lips tingle hot but not where i was grasping for a drink) , pulled pork nachos, and sirloin ( which was cooked perfectly rare like I asked for ) . We ate here last night with a couple friends, and everyone really enjoyed their meals. We had fried pickles, pretzel bones, steaks, and ribs. The smores martini was also really good! Our waitress was great and made sure we had what we needed. We've never had a bad experience here!

Possibly one of the best barbecue places in the capital region. I had the beef brisket, both types of ribs and their burger that comes with an egg (the name escapes me). Not all at once but on different visits. The food is superb and I've never had a problem with my order or the service.

Opened ten minutes late but the cuisine was so delicious it made up for that minor delay. My waitress, Eliana, was a great hostess as well, never an empty glass of lemonade. The dining experience was so exciting I had to stop and take a picture (so it will last longer, lol). I'm originally from the West and lived in the south....I know Bar-B-Q and this was REAL BBQ.

We had a delightful lunch. Our server, Monica, was awesome and VERY informative. A nonstop firehose of chatter about everything, including the 2-for-1 special on the half chicken meal. I came for the ribs, but very much enjoyed the moist and tender chicken. The decor (atmosphere) is meh, but did not detract from our dining experience.

Everything was great. Our bartender, Isaac is the best and so is Claudia. We had the pleasure of meeting Brad the manager and he was great helping me with my app. We highly recommend Smokey Bones and we love their happy hour and prices. Each and everyone one mentioned are an asset to Smokey Bones.

I came here with a friend a few years ago and enjoyed my visit. And today I ordered food thru Uber Eats, and made a mistake on the app and selected no butter, no sour cream for my baked potato. 😢 I called the store and spoke with a man named Joe, he said my order was complete already and about to be picked up, but that he would make sure to add to my bag. Visited tonight with some friends for their 25th anniversary special. I had a rack of ribs, two sides, and a slice of garlic bread for $14.99. The food was tasty and I had a ton of leftovers. The service was great and the waitress was friendly.

Me and my siblings had such a great lunch experience thanks to our server, Claudia. We came to Smokey Bones on the 10th Anniversary of our dad’s passing because it’s a restaurant he used to love. Claudia didn’t know, but she helped us have a lovely time celebrating our dad’s life on a day that can be tough for us. We are so appreciative of her kindness, good humor, and amazing service. The vibes were great and we will be coming back!

Went there for my brother's early birthday for lunch-dinner. Had an exceptional and cheerful waitress taking our orders. Both the food and service was excellent in between myself, my aforementioned brother and my parents. We got there around 3:30ish PM, so it wasn't very busy and rather pleasant so we were all able to converse without issue. And the service was relatively quick, 10 minutes or so. A good time between lunch and dinner if you will get the mouth melting rack of ribs, which my brother and father ordered. Super tender and came off the bone effortlessly. I'd personally like to bring my best buddy down here (if possible) whenever he visits from Florida. Highly recommended and no complaints from my visit on January 24th, 2026.

She wasn't a helicopter server neither, she wasn't always hovering and she gave plenty of space while staying vigilant to our table and providing us with full drinks, plenty of napkins and as stated before her service was amazing!

We arrived at 10:50 to be told that seating ended at 10:30 so we were looking at the takeout menus. The manager reminded the front desk lady that 11 was last seating so we were able to sit down. The food was a solid 5 stars tonight. We enjoyed our meal. Service was a bit slow and disorganized tonight but for Valentine's Day night I can understand why. It was very busy there tonight. They seemed a bit understaffed but handled it well.

Amazing cheeseburger and the BBQ sauces were delicious. However the restrooms need more attention going forward, they were very unclean, toilet paper rolls in the bowl, dirty and sticky floors, no soap. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned or attended to all day.

To Start The food was soooo fresh. The burger was a perfect medium and so tasteful and juicy. The ribs were amazinjuicy and flavorful. The baked beans weren’t for me. I don’t really like barbecue sauce in my baked beans. If you’re one for that taste then you’ll love those baked beans. Mac and cheese was good as well.

I had lunch here after an enjoyable river cruise on the Dutch Apple cruise tours. I had chili and a small salad, my partner had the bbq ribs and fries. My chili didn’t taste like chili- it was sweet like bbq sauce and it was not hot, just lukewarm. I left half. My salad was nice and fresh and the blue cheese dressing was fine. Nothing was a “Wow” but the salad was tasty. My partner said his ribs tasted like those at a chain restaurant, like they came precooked and were heated up. Because they were tasty but far from great. He liked his fries; again, not a Wow, but fine. The service was not good at all when we came in. No one was at the desk and we waited around a good 23 minutes for someone to notice us. We ordered her food and once it was brought to us, we never saw the waitress again, my partner wanted his soda refilled, but the waitress never showed up. She never asked how we liked the food at which point I would’ve said the chili needed to be hotter, and she spent a lot of time talking to the people in the booth behind us. All in all just a meh experience. When we left, we noticed a pho place across the street and felt that would’ve been much better.

Well, I was not happy at all. I ordered the Sammy pulled pork and it was so dry. I couldn't even eat it. My dogs didn't even want it. That's pretty bad. I was very surprised at this fact. We spent $66. My husband's dinner was good. He enjoyed his ribs and then we also had an order of fried pickles that we never ordered. I don't know how that got in the bag. But they were nasty, too.

Definitely not what it used to be. Very short staffed for our visit. Drinks and food took a very long time to arrive. Our server seemed very new to the position and while they were doing their best you could tell they were very overwhelmed. I think he may have been the only actual server on the floor at the time.

After the recent temporary shut down, the food quality had seriously dropped, the taste had been way better in the past and the food did not come out piping hot but luke warm.

Meh... it might be a different experience if you eat at the restaurant but the to go order left much to be desired. The ribs were on the tough side and lacked sauce. Almost as if they were trying to ration. My family didn't like the wings either. It was just a good choice while we were dropping our child off for college. Likely a one shot type of deal for us.

This place has really gone downhill. Last two visits - a few months apart - service was awful and food took forever to come out. We were given a card for a free app if we came back on on visit. Yesterday we tried again. We were seated immediately, but the two parties that were seated after us had their drinks before we even saw our server, John. He was so slow in mannerisms and speech, we both concluded he had to be high. He tried made a joke about not getting to us faster, then forgot our drink orders. He charged us extra for honey mustard on a chicken sandwich that was supposed to come with it. "...Choice of ranch or honey mustard and 1 regular side." We ordered it that way. He brought it without, it took us about 6 or so minutes to get his attention and after we asked for it, he took twice as long to bring it and blamed it on an Italian dressing spilling. The sandwich, incidentally, was a single chicken finger. I've seen better Chicken sandwiches as fast food joints. My brisket grilled cheese was barely grilled. (See photo). Bread was ish-toasty on one side and soggy on the side facing the plate - indicating it had been sitting on the rail for a while before being served. I used to really enjoy coming here. But my last few experiences have completely set me off. I used to ignore the missing ceiling tiles and water damage, though those seem to have been fixed. But the service in a mostly empty restaurant has been atrocious. What a horrible turn for this place. Caveat emptor.

I want to start off by saying our server was excellent. Nice young man. Greeted us. Explained everything perfectly real standout. We went there on Wednesday to get the rib deal and it was a great deal. Money wise, flavor wise I'd say the ribs were extremely salty, tough and overall lackluster I'll be happy to try Smokey Bones again but I definitely won't be getting their ribs. But at two half racks of ribs and four sides for $15 it is hard to beat

Usually it's good, went for thanksgiving dinner, and very disappointing, the plate when delivered to the table was extremely hot, however the entree was luke warm. The stuffing was cold, the turkey was badly reheated edges were dry and burnt the green beans had no flavor, overall it was just a disappointing visit. If you are not going to make the effort of doing your best with the food and have a skeleton crew, why bother to open for the holidays and disappoint your guest. As being new to the area and not having any family, we were looking forward to a nice thanksgiving dinner, very disappointing

Unfortunately, the food smelled good, but it all came out cold, and it tasted like it was just warmed up. We ordered an app, and it was cold. And when we got our main entrées, it was also cold. Wish it came out fresh because it might have tasted great.

We haven't been to smokey bones in over 10 yrs but went today--jan 2. Very few customers but we were there mid afternoon. I ordered grilled cheese with brisket a nd baked beans my husband ordered a steak which he was not pleased with. His salad came 3 minutes before his steak was delivered. He was not impressed with his meal. Found the prices very pricey for the quality and quantity of what we were served. Service was good but Will not return.

Not what I expected from the last time we were there. The table we were sat at was dirty. We to moved another. The lack of attention from the service was extremely disappointing. Definitely will never go back.

We were thinking about sharing a drink, but bartender’s attire revealed cleavage when she was leaning forward, so it wasn’t the right vibe and we decided just to have tap waters. Our waitress was showering us with “honey/babies/sweetheart” stuff. When we politely corrected her, she only escalated, so we used the only tool we had, which was not leaving a tip. Our bill had significant overcharges and items we didn’t order and we had to wait for it to be removed. As far as food, it was really good, just what you would expect from the chain. We had nachos and European ribs.

It was ok. Haven't been here in 10 years. The food is just ok. The bartenders were on point and attentive. Thx. There's better places for smoked food. Not sure what the attraction to this place is. It always looks busy. I think people have lost touch to what good food is. I gave it 2 because of the bartenders. If not for them I would have given it 1.

The only good thing about this place was barbecue ribs. Most of the items were really dry. We ordered a combo for four but the portion size was small. Taste did not justify the price point. They didn’t even have proper glasses for their cocktails, mine came in a mason jar! We were missing cutlery for a person. Servers need to be more mindful. Toilet was dirty too! If you have any other option, avoid this place.

Quiet when we walked in for dinner it was a Sunday. Server Nicole was great. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the food was a letdown. I ordered the ribs, brisket, chicken, and jalapeño cheddar sausage. The brisket was the biggest disappointment — it looked and tasted like leather and was completely inedible. There was no smoke ring at all, and it was just solid black (as you can see in the picture). The chicken was absolutely drenched in barbecue sauce, to the point where it overwhelmed everything else. The ribs did fall off the bone, but not in a good way — no smoke flavor and more mushy than tender. For context, I smoke all types of meat at home myself as an amateur cook, so I understand that BBQ isn’t easy and results can vary — but this missed the mark on some very basic fundamentals. The sausage was just okay, nothing memorable. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the banana dessert, which was honestly the highlight of the entire meal. For a place that markets itself as BBQ, the lack of smoke flavor and overall execution was disappointing. Hoping this was just an off night, but based on this experience, I wouldn’t rush back.

Did the catering option for Christmas, spent $300 and they forgot a tray of cornbread, which you have to pay extra for pecan butter cornbread. Reached out to them a few times but no response. The brisket was very mid, the corn was hard, the Mac and cheese very basic, the best thing was the apple blossoms (apple pies). I don’t think I would get food catered from here again.

I came in to pick up my birthday dinner. Which my birthday was Christmas Day, so I came in on December 26th. When I came in, I was given and purchased a gift card for $25 to receive $30. It was an e-card. I have the receipt for the purchase. I showed the manager the email never came in. The manager Anthony Parrish was not willing to help me in any way with the gift card. He wasn't willing to compiling to work with me even after showing him the. Receipt and the purchase of the gift card. He stated he believed me, but there's nothing he could do. I had to wait for an email. The cashier Lily Larosa was very sweet. She tried everything in her power to assist me. And her customer service skills are exceptional and above and beyond. She was very hurt that she couldn't even assist me in the way that she could and the way that she wanted to. I was very discouraged that my birthday dinner was ruined due to a manager who could not try. Hi, to help compensate me or even meet me halfway.I always go to smoky bones for my brisket.This may very well be my last time due to the customer service of the management.I do not suggest buying e cards from smoky bones go into the store to purchase them because they are not willing to help you in any way if you have any mishaps with the app or receiving the gift card smoky.Bones, i'm totally disappointed in you.And thank you for ruining my birthday dinner

Not a great experience. Unfortunately the location is in dire need of an update and a massive cleaning. I wasn't expecting a lot from a chain BBQ place but the menu seemed promising and it was close to where I needed to be. That being said, you'd get just as much satisfaction buying a frozen Stouffers meal and it would taste the same without the filth and apathy from an unmotivated staff. Maybe it was an off night, but nothing from my visit makes me want to give it a 2nd chance

PSA:DON'T GO!! We walked in to a very dead restaurant with 2 tables and a few at the bar. The server was cool but definitely high as a kite. We ordered, nachos came out quick and were delicious. After 45 minutes and staring at "our" food in the windows, the server questioned the line about one app that still wasn't at the table. That came out, our food still sat, at this point it's been 45 minutes. When it finally got to the table, the plates were extremely hot, the buns and meats were dry and nasty at this point. But the kicker... only 3 out of the 6 came out. Then 2 and the server asked one of us, what was ordered because he didn't see their food. The 5th plate came out with half the order of the 6th. The food was horrible!!! The manager took off the forgotten item even though no one ate their food. Worst experience.

If I could give this place a zero star I would , the menu looks amazing , the food that was served horrible everything about this was not Evan eatable. could not Evan eat it ,the cheesecake spoiled ,the burger was missing the blue cheese and did not look like the picture, the chocolate milk nasty . money wasted , can’t Evan get through on the phone or leave a message to the manger , this is also my first time here . I ordered take out . I would go back right now and let them know but it’s late I’m tired I worked all day plus their phone doesn’t work properly, now for some dinner and it was a waste money and time .

I sat at the bar and your bartender was very rude and racist. We were the only colored ones at the bar and she gave me a hard time. I asked for the manager about 5-10 times and she refused. When I made a big deal about it she finally got someone who I think was just another regular worker. They kicked us out and refused us service when I have been here tons of times. Here they are.

I was with a group of about eight church people. We ordered food. Several of us had minor concerns about our meal. The waitress corrected the concerns. We ate. We paid. Right before leaving, the manager told us NOT TO COME BACK AGAIN. We have not been back.

Decided to finally try this place out, and it was NOT worth it. We did not receive half of our order (Mac & cheese and our drinks) and THIS is what I received. Potato wedges were burnt to a crisp and raw in the middle, and my burger was ice cold and had absolutely no toppings. Definitely not worth the $40 I paid for this. DO NOT GO HERE !!

This is the $29 filet mignon tips they expect you to pay for. Two 1 oz pieces of clearly microwaved meat that was STILL cold. Like, honestly, why even ask “how do you want your steak cooked??” I’ll take it microwaved and then cooled, thanks. Absurd. My family’s other plates were all also clearly microwaved. Stay clear from this place. I’ve sent exactly one plate back in any restaurant in the past 10 years and congrats, Smokey Boney, you’ve outdone yourself.

Welcome to smoky bones where you do there bogo special and don’t even get half your order and then they don’t put any sauces on them including dry rubs and the manager tells you we put it in the cup for you to rub on your wings. Great customer service were you pay someone to give you the ingredients to make your own food.

Last year, my parents were visiting for the birth of our first child. My wife and I went to Smokey Bones, sometime in May, around 900 pm ish, with our then 1 month old baby and my parents. The entire restaurant was pretty much empty, so when the waitress had us sit in a ripped, dirty booth, I asked politely if we can switch. Yes there were plenty of cleaner booths around. She rolled her eyes and told me with an attitude that all the booths are the same. When I pointed out to the better ones right across said "sure". No apologies, nothing. See the thing is, when you're a person of color, you learn to pick up on weird vibes from people who clearly think of you in negative/lesser ways. I felt it through the way this waitress behaved, her body language, the way she spoke with me, the way took our orders. Food was average. But with excellent service, average food can be memorable. This was the case. It was really disappointing because I used to visit Smokey Bones regularly during college, and even pre-covid but haven't been there since. I've never had a bad experience, this was the first time. But because of the vibe I got, I'm never going been again.

Almost certain the burger they served me violates the Geneva conventions. Ordered a burger medium with cheddar, bacon and onion. This thing came out beyond well done. The thing is, I have a feeling it came out of the kitchen medium and was allowed to fester in a heated holding area by our server, Cass. I say this because a table adjacent to us with a different server, that was seated right after us, got apps and entrees 15 minutes before us. We waited 30 minutes for a burger and nachos. The bun was so unbelievably dry on top. The fries were also stale. The plate was clearly under a warmer for a while. I really gave it a good try, I smothered it in BBQ sauce. Thing was not edible in any way. I slid the remaining 2/3 of "burger" and about 85 percent of the stale fries to the end of the table and split the nachos with my wife. Server (Cass) never stopped to ask how the food was, just came over when we were done eating the nachos and asked if we wanted dessert. This place has gone way way down hill. The server had time to stand and chat with co-workers and then told another table the food was slow because they were short staffed. The other server did not seem to be having the same problem. Also, pro-tip, don't call a woman who is older than you "hun". It's super condescending. Edit: Wife also let me know there was no toilet paper in the ladies room. Nice. I feel like such a Karen writing this but this experience was truly terrible.

Horrible. Many open tables but still waited to be seated for no apparent reason. Service was sub-par. Never brought the beer my husband ordered. No flavor to the beer cheese pretzel dip. And here is a photo of my "quarter chicken dinner". That was no way aquarter chicken unless it was a Cornish hen. I don't usually have a tape measure in my purse but we were shopping for a household item. Could see a staff member eating with her hands, in the kitchen in full sight of the dining room.

dude it can’t be that hard to fulfill one order… every single time I try to give you guys a chance I am disappointed in the lack of care and packing your to go orders. I ordered a a loaded baked potato couldn’t wait till it arrived only for it to arrive with no sour cream .. truly how hard can it be to do something right it’s actually ridiculous everytime you are missing something it’s just laziness the food is fine but the carelessness in the workers bring it down to a 1 star period

Anyone can complain and I'm No exception. We drove up to Colonie from Amsterdam and arrived about 1:00pm without a single customer in the parking lot, that was my biggest concern. By appearance it looked like just another cookie cutter theme restaurant which are on every corner and produce garbage. This is supposed to be BBQ and claim to be famous for their smoked meats, but the had literally no smokers. I could see into the kitchen and they had a microwave which I will assume that everything we ordered was cooked in said microwave. The restaurant was filthy and smelled as bad as it looked. The men's bathroom was disgusting and my wife said the women's was even worse. Our food was cold and disgusting and that is the best compliment I can give this place. I use my Dollar to to punish bad restaurants as well as I use my dollar's to reward good restaurants, and this restaurant will NEVER get another dollar from our family. I just hope I've saved at least one person from getting ripped off by this horrible place.

I was so disappointed in everything about this place. There were no other customers. The bathroom was filthy with the toilets not flushed. The condiments on the table were dirty as they had not been wiped off ever. We ordered a rack of ribs with a baked potato and broccoli. It came out in under 10 minutes. The potato was cold not being able to melt the butter. The broccoli was also cold. The ribs themselves tasted like they were warmed up from the night before. The meat on them was not soft like ribs are supposed to be. I will never go back here and I recommend anyone looking for a BBQ place to look elsewhere.

This was absolutely the worst delivery we have ever received in the history of food delivery (remember COVID deliveries? It was worse than that.) We ordered through GrubHub and I had a real rough day at work so I was in need of some comfort food. Was it a chance ordering $17.12 loaded cheese fries? yes. I expected some incredible fries to cure my woes. This was not it. Don't order from here. Not for take out. Just avoid it at all costs.

The chicken taste like cafeteria food brisket was ok, Mac and cheese was terrible and used to be good, was charged 10$ for store bought cornbread muffins charged another 10$ for doughnuts the size of silver dollars that were inedible, used to be solid I see no reason to set foot in here again.

All bad! Food was closed, service was slow and the manager was rude. Food was cold and old. The brioche bun was hard when tapped! Waiter told manager about our issue and he never came to speak to us. After 25 minutes we paid for our 2 sodas and left. Never again!

This is the bone fire I got, there is no ribs at all but a lot of peppers and potatoes, we are very disappointed at the food we received . Also ordered chicken and 1 lb pulled pork family meal too, paid $5 extra for a pint of Mac cheese, we were given a tiny bit and only filled half. Pulled pork has way less amount than what I got from other smoky bones. For the to go food I still paid tip too but it turns out to be a horrible experience , I do not recommend anyone to get bone fire, this is lesson
