The best steak and shrimp I have ever had! Service was fast, tentative, and very friendly. Creamed spinach and gratin was delicious. Side note…THE BEST STUFFED MUSHROOMS EVER!!

Great service and lovely atmosphere. Best crab cakes I had in a restaurant!! Food very good.

Excellent service. Great atmosphere. Steak was good but a bit overpriced. A nearby steakhouse has 22oz porterhouse for under $40.

Best steak I've had in years! Everything was exceptional from cocktails, appetizers, entree to dessert.

Steak is always great. Sides are also good but nothing too special. Friends have had meals other than steak and rave about it. I'd recommend for a nice meal.

This was an exceptional experience. When I was in Las Vegas that was the first time I ever had this franchise, and that was also my first introduction to what steak is actually supposed to taste like. Yes it is expensive but it's worth every penny and he actually had quite a bit of leftovers, because the steak is very very filling. Out of curiosity I wanted to see if I could actually cut my steak with the side of my fork and I could. That tells you how tender and perfectly cut it was. Service was delightful we were celebrating something so they gave us complimentary champagne at the end and we were treated warmly and attentively without it's being saccharine or a nuisance. Manager swung by every table at least twice to make sure everyone was doing well, and overall we just had a really nice time

The service and the food was outstanding. Our waitress great, friendly, gave opinion on dishes but did not push or hang around. Will recommend and go back there soon.

So happy and grateful I got a chance to go there the Saturday before they officially opened! The food is excellent, and the service is just as great. I highly recommend the veal osso bucco ravioli appetizer (it could also work as a main course) and checking out their dessert menu, because WOW.

My husband and I visited for the first time tonight and loved our experience. We didn’t have a reservation so we sat at the bar, Jason was our waiter and he was so friendly and funny, knew the menu and even talked sports with my husband. Made our experience fun, and we’ll definitely be back.

Delicious food, cooked with skill and pride. I would go again. If you don't mind paying for quality, I highly recommend it. We did have reservation, and were seated immediately, but they had plenty of open tables on a Thursday evening.

We went here for New Year’s Eve with friends. Every time my husband and I go here we order old-fashioneds and continue to comment about how much we love the glasses. I looked everywhere to get these for Christmas, having no luck. I finally decided I had nothing to lose by asking the manager, William Rios, if I could purchase 4. He responded, “I’ll see what I can do.” A few minutes later, one of the hostesses came out with two sizes and asked me which one I wanted. (the larger one, of course). She appeared again, about 20 minutes later, with them wrapped beautifully in a RC bag with a card enclosed. The cost? Free. Not only were they the best staff, but the food was incredible. Their house chopped salad is my favorite and we always split the cowboy steak. Everything, from those greeting us, to the bar staff and wait staff, made for a perfect experience, as always. A special thanks goes out to William Rios. Make a reservation ASAP. You won’t be disappointed.

This was my first experience at a Ruth's Chris but I'm happy to report that it lived up to it's reputation. I may have had a better prepared steak in my life, but I certainly can't remember when. The sides were likewise delicious, and while the creamed spinach was a hit, the mashed potatoes were the star of the sides for me. Definitely a great spot for celebrating a special occasion, or for a date night treat you won't soon forget.

I was in town for an event and ate lunch here. It was one of the best meals I ever had and my waitress was spectacular. The manager came to my table to check on us, which is always a nice touch 10/10 would recommend.

We came for our anniversary, the table was set and we received an Anniversary card from the staff when we sat down. Immediately served water and bread. Make sure to ask for Kyle when making your reservations. Best server in the town. Very personable and knowledgeable about Ruth’s Chris Steak House. Steak is the best in the area. Even their stuff chicken was delicious. We left with full and satisfied. We had an amazing time and will be back!

I went to a Ruth's Chris many years ago and loved it. I was excited when I learned they were opening locally. Top notch food as usual. Cocktails were perfect. Blueberry mojito, a light cocktail with a perfect blend of mint and blueberry flavors. Ruth's Manhattan, a stronger(for me, my boyfriend described it as smooth) cocktail with hints of black cherry. Fried calamari with roasted red peppers and a Thai chili was scrumptious if you like a spicy sweet flavor. It was a great tasting surprise with the calamari. Not pictured, he had the ribeye with lobster tail and he said the ribeye was so good. He said it was perfectly seasoned and a great tasting cut he's never had it before. The lobster tail was decent. He also had the lobster bisque which I tasted and it had a flavor of biscuits as odd as that sounds but it was a good flavor. There were also chunks of lobster in it. I had the filet which you can never go wrong with, perfectly seasoned as well. I usually go for a medium rare and then use the 500⁰ plate to continue cooking to my perfect medium. I also had the brussle sprouts which has a honey butter and bacon topping. It's a good mix of sweet and savory. Our waiter was James and he was perfectly attentive, checked in multiple times, wasn't rushing us, and kept us informed on when to expect our next course. We also had a busboy that helped with water and table clearing. I can't for the life of me remember his name, but he was very attentive as well. I highly recommend not only this Ruth's but any you happen by because they are always great.

It was a great meal, pricey - but perfect for our anniversary. We did make a reservation. However for a fine dining price, I felt very rushed to eat and for them to clear the table. It took us no more time to eat here than for us to go to Applebee's or Any other sit down casual dining place.

My partner and I came here for our anniversary of 7 years. The staff here were extremely friendly and welcoming. They were so excited about our anniversary and covered our table with rose petals and gave us a card. The waitress who had our table was so kind and great at what she does. They gifted us a free desert and champagne which was outstanding. The best thing was the stuffed chicken breast it was the best dinner I have ever had. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves super good food and atmosphere. This place is absolutely worth the price!

Our waitress Sydney was amazing . She made sure we was okay and happy . She made sure to check on us throughout the night . Her birthday was today and she was at work . She deserves everything good coming to her . She had a great attitude and good recommendations. Thank you for making my birthday dinner amazing .

It's probably the best steak we have ever had ever!!! We ordered the porterhouse for two, with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and brussle sprouts. It was incredible!!! Also the creme brulee with fruit was amazing!

C
Chad Cooke

Service was phenomenal. Food was excellent. One very tiny criticism is with the 500 degree plates that entrees are served on. A steak that comes out at the perfect temp continues to cook while you eat. The steak was still very good but cut pieces of medium rare steak did become medium from sitting on the hot plate. Wouldn't stop from eating dinner there again tonight.

We were lucky enough to be VIP on Saturday night before the actual opening. We've been to Ruth's Chris before in Hawaii 3 times and never had a bad experience. Tonight's food and service didn't disappoint. 1st off the staff. Amanda. Home run. Give that girl a raise. Also Jennifer the bartender is a great addition to the crew. Her and her daughters are top notch. Keepers!!! The food. As it was a limited menu. We had the Barbeque Shrimp, Lettuce Wedge, 16 oz NY strip, Lobster Bisque, Mashed Potatoes a 7 and 7 and Raspberry Cosmo. Typical fashion. Spot on. Good luck to the crew. This place will now more than likely be our official wedding anniversary dining place. Thanks and GL. If you've never been, gotta try it. Won't be disappointed!!

Fabulous 15 year anniversary dinner at Ruth’s Chris last night, clearly the kinks from opening week have been ironed out and Ruth’s Chris is on their game and here to stay. We had a rough experience our first trip, but the staff welcomed us back and absolutely blew us away! You’ll have to check out the pictures below. My wife and I will always remember the way we felt last night, and that’s what real fine dining is about, and why you’re willing to spend so freely at a place like Ruth’s Chris. The food was absolutely phenomenal as well, but the service and how we were made to feel was what made this a lasting memory. Being in management myself for nearly 20 years, you pick up on a lot of subtleties in any establishment. Last night it was noticeable how engaged the staff was. From top to bottom someone was backing someone up, someone was training someone, teaching, showing, engaging all while upper management was following up and holding folks accountable to deliver. I’m excited Albany finally has a unique fine dining experience that we will definitely be back for time and time again. You can tell the staff is breeding a new type of service provider that is focused on an enhanced customer experience much different than any fine dining Albany previously had to offer. A special Thanks to our server Julie, her partner Keyonna, and William and the staff. Bone in filet Oscar is a must - the ribeye was delicious as well Spicy shrimp and calamari both top notch as well.

First visit. Part of a large party in a private room. Staff was great and even explained the why the name is Ruth's Chris. Long story. Only note was we thought the steak was a bit salty. Incidentally this visit was back in September 2023.

My 4th RC. Truffle butter Parm crust 11oz filet was just the best steak I've ever had in my 43 years. That should be enough of a recommendation, but there more. (I'm aware of the criticism that RC just soaks everything in butter and that makes them not a real steak house, but fine, then sont go there if that bugs you. For normal steak enjoyers, it's really freaking good and I don't care how they cheat or don't in the kitchen.) We started with poke appetizer, which in fairness, was NOT poke, but seared tuna. But whatever it was mouthgasmic. As were the roasted Brussels as a side. IMO their potatoes are always just ok. Because it was my birthday, they gave me a card, the menu was printed special and they threw some birthday bling on the table. I felt special haha. Service was pitch-perfect. We had 'salt of the Earth' type servers which I love to be honest. I truly despise when people act fake or dead inside when they are waiting tables. You can be professional and still have a soul, folks. My only knock is the ambiance is decidedly mid. Very generic, very recognizable macaroni grill footprint. They did have some art of Nipper which was cool tho. But tables and chairs and windows/shades were all just "hotel chic". Meh. Price wise you are looking at the same as 677 Prime and about 10-15$ more per steak than black & bleu (which is our weekly "I'm in the mood for steak" haunt). So the way I look at it, RC for 15 bucks more than B&B is totally fair for the best filet I've ever eaten. I still prefer 677 Prime to RC because of the menu diversity. RC is essentially steak and steak house sides. And that's it. Mazzone is always coming with surprises so that remains my personal #1 place to eat in Albany, but that does not at all mean we can't have two very very excellent steak houses in Albany. Will absolutely go there again and again. If you haven't gone, go.

I had the privilege to attend a shift opening for them. The food was mouthwatering, the staff were amazing, and they held a fundraiser for the regional food bank and raised $12,000 that night. What an amazing way to present themselves to our community. If your are looking for a lovely date night I couldn't recommend this place enough! The barbecued shrimp was too DIE for. Special shout out to our server Adam. He was brilliant!!!!

Went to Ruth's Chris for our wedding anniversary. The online reservation system was easy and reliable, liked that it asked to include any comments or special occasion. Mentioned it was our anniversary. Upon arrival the host congratulated us on our anniversary and promptly showed us to our table. The table was decorated for our anniversary which was a thoughtful surprise. Our server, Ross, was personable with a wonderful sense of humor, congratulated us and thoroughly explained the menu with us. His attentive service was spot-on as was the entire staff. The steaks were done perfectly to order and the complimentary dessert was appreciated. Overall, it was an enjoyable and fun evening.

Very good experience. Gave it 5 stars, but there is always room for improvement. Servers were very nice. There was a woman walking around that I think was the manager that wasn't friendly and kinda had a puss on her face but didn't affect our time. Chopped salad was great as well as spicy shrimp app. Ordered steaks rare, and they were definitely rare. Cool thing is the piping hot plates that if you want it done a little more, just lay it out on the plate. Of you don't, shove your knife under it to raise it. Steak and filet were delicious. Got garlic mashed which was great and not too garlicky. The creamed spinach was the best I have had. I also love the nice big limes in our drinks. Will be back.

My fiancé and I decided to do our anniversary dinner here and let me just say, they did not disappoint. We came on a really busy night and they were still able to make our night special they even decorated our table and menus for the occasion. We ordered the classic lemon drop martini and pomegranate martini. Both were really good. We also had The crab cakes as an appetizer, and the lobster and steak as our main course meal. The portions were a little small but the taste of everything and the amazing service we received from all servers and employees made up for it. We will definitely be coming back again thanks Ruth Chris :)

I dined here as one of a party of three while on a business trip from the NY Metropolitan Area. Two of us ordered the garlic crusted sea bass. It tasted freshly caught. The other person ordered the salmon and shrimp and enjoyed that. WHAT STOOD OUT WERE THE GARLIC MASHED POTATOES. I felt like I was eating a recently harvested potato. They were that fresh. I will definitely order them again even if that is the only thing that I order at Ruth’s Chris. They perfectly seasoned with a hint of garlic, and they were ultra creamy yet lumpy, too. The bacon in the roasted Brussels sprouts did not taste right, so we would not order it again. James O., our waiter, did a fantastic job. If ever we come back to this restaurant’s location, we will ask for him.

Such an easy 5/5!! Delicious crab cakes, and our steaks were cooked to perfection (medium for me, and medium rare for my husband). Service was fast, friendly and attentive. Drinks were made well, and the grilled shrimp, asparagus, and brussel sprouts were also delicious. Can't wait to return!

Hands down, best meal I've ever had in the capital district, and I've lived here since 1984, I've eaten at just about every restaurant worth mentioning. My only complaint is the atmosphere is a bit lacking, and acoustics are fairly hard. Both my wife and I had the classic dinner, we both had fillet and lobster, rare. She had 6 oz I upgraded to 11 oz, steaks were cooked exactly 💯 correct, extremely tender and flavourful, practically melt in your mouth. I had the ceaser salad, again, outstanding, she had the lobster bisque, while good, not the best, we both had the garlic mashed potatoes, really nice, and the chefs choice desert was a tart sized cheesecake severed with fresh berries, blue, black, raspberry, and strawberries, again outstanding Service was impeccable and super attentive, within 2 minutes of course drop off, she was there to ensure everything was good. Will definitely return.

We went to dinner there for our anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing and the servers were all friendly and attentive. The portions were generous and we each had enough for a meal the next day. The menus had Happy Anniversary on them. They put confetti on the table and gave us a hand signed card. It is the little things like that that cost them almost nothing and made our night that much more special. The

Went for our Anniversary. We were greeted and brought to our table where they sprinkled anniversary confetti on the table and gave us a happy anniversary card. Our Waiter, Devin, was super friendly, personable and professional. Answered all our questions and was very patient. Hubby got ahi tuna appetizer, it was good but sauce was to spicy for my taste. I got the Caeser salad and omg best Caeser salad I've had in the longest time. Hubs got blue cheese encrusted ribeye. He liked it. Steak was cooked perfectly but blue cheese was a little overwhelming. I got the filet with the truffle crust...it was AMAZING. The filet was cooked perfect and melted in my mouth. The truffle crust was the perfect accent. We got the brussel sprouts and au gratin potatoes. Both were good and as you would expect. Chocolate sin cake for dessert was SOOO rich and creamy. It was definitely sinful. Would def go back, overall a wonderful experience.

Went for our Anniversary dinner. Had Adam as a server. Ordered the Lamb, Lobster MAC, Mashed Potatoes and my Husband had a steak. Everything tasted superb. The Lobster MAC portion size was huge. I had 2 Martinis. They were nice and strong. Adam was very tentative to us, pleasant and kind. He was the right amount of chill. He was also friendly with other guests at a nearby table. No complaints or return on the food. Spent over 3 hundred for just us two. Well worth it. Adam surprised us with a sweet Anniversary dessert. Can't wait to visit again to try other menu items. We may have found our usual Date Night Spot.

Wife and I decided to try Ruth's Chris, we choose to dine "in the lull" because service is always better when the staff are not overwhelmed and this place did not disappoint whatsoever. Very attentive staff, the menu and choices were fantastic and I was treated to possibly the best cut of steak I have ever experienced in my 54 years! We ordered the calamari as an appetizer which was overdone by a hair (nothing serious but 30 seconds to a minute too long can definitely make a difference), the staff remedied immediately and the replacement was perfection 🤌 If you're looking for a fantastic dining experience and a filet mignon that is a cut above, look no further. Definitely NOT our last time there!

My wife and I went for our anniversary, and we were treated with such regard in our celebration. A message was on our menus. Flower petals were on our table. We very much enjoyed our experience.

I had a great experience at Ruth’s Chris Steak House while grabbing a seat at the bar. The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, perfect for a casual evening without needing a full dining room table. The steak sandwiches were outstanding—tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, exactly what you’d hope for at a steakhouse. The appetizers paired really well with the cocktails, which were expertly made and balanced. The highlight for me was the pomegranate martini—absolutely killer, refreshing, and one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Service at the bar was attentive and friendly, making the whole visit feel relaxed and enjoyable. If you’re looking for top-notch food and drinks in a more laid-back setting, the bar at Ruth’s Chris is definitely worth checking out.

I was quite taken aback when I was denied access to a section of the restaurant simply because I wore a turban; that really isn’t good for business. However, the overall dining experience was fantastic. The Caesar salad was absolutely phenomenal, along with the crab cakes and spicy shrimp. Our server, Matt, was an awesome guy—very patient and accommodating. Plus, I loved the music selection; R&B played all night, creating a great vibe.

What an incredibly beautiful, relaxing, and warming ambiance. Love the setup and how amazing the staff are. Truly made us feel welcomed and very well taken care of. Our waiter Diana was so amazing it was fun talking with her, and she helped make our food choices perfect. Thank You, Diana. The food was mouth watering and touched every palatable fiber in us. We were truly filled with flavors and our taste buds electrified. Had to take some some because portions were plenty. Not cheap menu, so be careful of what you order if on budget. Menu items add up, so be warmed and don't be embarrassed or shocked by bill total. The manager came and introduced herself and asked how we were enjoying the food. That was very nice of her and spoke a lot about the quality of the restaurant and how they value patrons. Loved every minute of being there. We will be back.

Service was great, the steak was cooked more than I like for medium. Overall, a nice business meal. The Cesar salad had so much Parmesan on it and I added it to the asparagus which was the perfect touch! I did the 3 course option and the cheesecake is really good too!

Warning- lengthy post!! Right from the beginning, the hostesses were so friendly and welcoming. Our table had a hand written anniversary card and “Happy Anniversary” confetti which was so sweet and felt like such a personal touch. Our waitress, Sydney, also asked our names which felt so personal and I loved that (and her)! She was so incredibly sweet and patient, you couldn’t ask for a better waitress. On to the food! There were only three appetizer options for gluten free, and I personally wasn’t a fan, so i opted to order Brussels sprouts as my appetizer. They were probably the best roasted Brussels I’ve ever had. My husband tried them and he agreed. I got the ribeye, medium rare, and it was glorious. They put like a garlic butter compound or something on top and the steak just melted in my mouth. They do bring the steak out on a 500 degree plate which was awesome because it stayed warm longer! (I did forget about that and touched… ouch LOL). My husband, (not GF), ordered ribeye crusted with blue cheese, added lobster tail, and he thoroughly enjoyed that. He got stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and they were pretty big! He said they were amazing, and i believe him LOL. We were going to order the crème brûlée for dessert anyways, but Sydney informed us our dessert was on the house for our anniversary. I mean, my goodness. I really wanted to cry. They did offer a complimentary bottle of champagne as well but we opted out as neither of us are a fan. All in all, it was an absolute amazing experience and i already can’t wait to go again. I’m going to dream about those Brussels sprouts. 🤤🤤 Sorry for rambling! 20/10.

I took my wife to Ruth’s Chris for her birthday dinner. Had a 8:30 reservation and was seated right away which was great, although I didn’t appreciate the hostess telling me to remove my hat before I sat or took my jacket off??? Other than the the service was very helpful, food was great except for the cream spinach which was blah. I’ve had frozen better. The lobster Mac and cheese was great and both steaks were had were delicious! The ambiance was to us kind of cheap for the price they are charging. But overall it was a solid experience.

Went for the HH, specifically the steak sandwich HH special. I’ve enjoyed it at a few other locations so I thought I’d try it here. Sat down at the bar around 4, shortly after they opened. Ordered an Old Fashioned and I have to say it’s the first one I’ve ever had with a lemon twist garnish. Still, very tasty. The sandwich and fries came out. Love the garlic sauce on the steak. The steak was well prepared and the fries were hot. My only complaint would be that the bread, a baguette, was a little tough to chew like a day old bread tends to be. They sliced it open but I think toasting it would have helped considerably. Otherwise, a pleasant experience. I’ll try the HH hamburger special next time.

Went to Ruth's Chris in Albany and had a Cowboy Porterhouse Steak. Can not complain. I think the only bad experience I ever had at Ruth's Chris was at the one in King Of Prussia, PA. Service sucked there.

Went with no reservation but it was shortly after opening and landed a seat bar side with the soon to be wife. Double wrapped napkins one for place mat or lap other for silverware. The atmosphere is pleasant with plenty of great seating setup Altered the Rita rock drink added pomegranate Tried Glenmorangie, the nectar D'or sauternes cask finish. The appetizer was calamari. Very good. Mild heat tentacles are present for the win. Dinner Brussel sprouts, lobster Mac 40oz porter med rare on sizzling plate. I'm glad I under temped because it landed where my anticipation lied. My steak was well crusted, perfect pepper to salt ratio. Sides were mediocre but flavored. Picked up on the hint of Bacon in the Brussel sprouts. Lobster Mac, I'll leave to others' opinions. Dessert. I'm not a coffee drinker but chose a cappuccino so I can diversify my palette. It was well frothed and I loved the rock candy sugar stirrer. Bread pudding with raisins brought me to a homemade state of mind. However, the whiskey sauce was heavy on taste. Finally, my server was very helpful, pleasurable, and enhanced my experience. Would have posted other photos however they did no justice for the Ruth Chris establishment.

Reservations are strongly recommended. The food is really great. The service was good. It's extremely expensive. Two people cost around $270.00

Beautiful restaurant with superb service. Lobster Bisque was very good. Steak was good. Lobster tail was good. Mashed potatoes were dry. Turkey was a huge disappointment. Stuffing and cranberry sauce were both well done. Overall, it was an OK experience, but for the $$$, I expected to be blown away.

The first time I ate at Albany Ruth Chris everything was amazing with the exception of the lobster Mac and cheese (too liquidy) but great experience none the less. Today I placed a to- go order for 2 lamb chops, sweet potato and crab cake apatizer. The meat was not so flavorful, received way less portion of the sweet potato for the same price and the cooking of the crab cakes was not well done as requested. Expected consistency with a nice restaurant like this.

Went to Ruth’s Chris for my birthday dinner around Christmas time. The service and atmosphere were fantastic, the food was well cooked but definitely overpriced for what you get. The lobster bisque had chunks of lobster in it and was delicious. The steak and lobster were tasty and well cooked.

The restaurant is beautiful. The waitstaff is so friendly and kind. You can smell all of the flavors of the food when you walk into the dining room. The food was delicious - flavors were great. However, it was so rich it gave me a headache and made my husband nauseated. The amount of butter was probably too much. I think they use it for the sizzling plate effect, but if I go again, I will ask them to skip it. Like I said, the flavors were delicious, but whew, that richness was a lot. We got the crab cake appetizer, and our entrees were the sea bass and t-bone. The drinks were SO GOOD - I got a blueberry mojito mocktail.

We had dinner at Ruth’s Chris in Albany last night for a special occasion and it was a really great experience. The food was outstanding. Everything came out hot and cooked perfectly, and it was honestly just delicious. You can tell they take pride in what they’re serving. Our server was phenomenal. She made us feel completely at ease from the start and truly elevated the whole evening. We were celebrating something special and she made it feel even more memorable in a very genuine way. Everyone we interacted with was warm and professional. The atmosphere was comfortable and lively. Tables are fairly close together, so you’re definitely near other diners, but we understand that’s pretty typical for an upscale steakhouse and it didn’t take away from the night. We can’t wait to go back.

This was my second time coming. First time was the week it opened, I wasn’t too impressed with the overall experience. This time around Me and my girlfriend can say they definitely improved. The staff were super welcoming and positive. The food was great in my opinion the steak taste like a regular steak from any other steak house to me it’s not really worth the price tag. I got there sweet potato casserole lady’s and gents it stole the show it was delicious in my opinion if you add melted marshmallow on top you’ll send it over the top.

We went for Christmas dinner and the reservations were backed up, it seemed overbooked. Dinner itself was pretty good but slow to arrive. My crab cakes did have some cold spots in the center. Deserts and drinks were good and our server was clearly trying his best. A fairly good first experience there....just a bit slow

I personally enjoy going to Ruth’s Chris. The service is good, the food is great and the drinks are excellent. The price is definitely higher than most places out here. I brought my mom here for her birthday. We came for happy hour because the site mentioned prices were $9 and when we arrived it was higher than what the website indicated. That aside it was busy and it was only one bartender on shift and one person taking care of the tables. It was a lot going on. Either way I loved the food and would go back. I do want them to update the website to match the menus onsite.

This was our first experience at this place, and it was definitely a whirl wind. The service was excellent 5 stars without a doubt. Our waitress was knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and helpful. The atmosphere was particularly noisy. We couldn't hear ourselves talk over the group of 10 guys laughing their butts off. Which was incredibly annoying. My wife's chicken was very good, but my steak tasted a little off. Like it had spent most of its life inside a refrigerator, then injected with some sort of tenderizer, and then put on the grill. It was well seasoned, but not on par for the prices they charge. We are always up for trying new things, but I can't see us returning.

Went for dinner. The food was good. But I unfortunately wasn't overly impressed. To me for the money anyway. I would not rush back. That's not to say I wouldn't try it again, but who knows. It was crowded. An quite chilly in there. Very nice wait staff.

What a shame. Ruth Chris used to blow my socks off. 2nd time here and it's now just good, feels like they're using lower quality meat. Price still really high. I understand they were bought in 2023. I smell corporate meddling. I won't go back. Again what a shame

I’ve been to Ruth’s Chris several times, and while the steak is often very flavorful, the consistency in getting it cooked the way I request has been disappointing. At this point, I’ve mostly stopped going because it feels overpriced for what you actually get—especially when the doneness isn’t right and I’ve been served chewy cuts more than once. To be fair, the staff has always tried to make it right, even replacing my steak multiple times on one visit until it was correct. I appreciate that effort, but at this price point, I don’t want my steak replaced three times—I want it cooked properly the first time. This wouldn’t bother me as much if it were a one-off issue, but it’s happened nearly every time I’ve visited. On my first visit, the manager explained it was a brand-new kitchen staff. I returned months later and had the same problems, without any real explanation. For a restaurant known for steaks, consistency should not be this hard to achieve.

Sub-Prime Experience Service: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 Food: 2/5 Overall: 3/5 We were traveling through the Albany area on our way to our final destination and, because our Thanksgiving plans changed unexpectedly, we stopped at Ruth’s Chris for dinner. The restaurant was extremely busy, but service held up well and the bar delivered excellent, generous drinks. We ordered ribeyes from the main menu (neither of us are turkey eaters). Although listed as USDA Prime, the steaks that arrived were not Prime by any meaningful standard. The cuts were unusually lean with very limited intramuscular marbling, broad unbroken muscle sections, and none of the dense fine “lace” fat that defines true Prime ribeye. These were Choice-level steaks at a Prime price point. Photos attached make that clear. With the national beef shortage and reduced availability of true Prime, I suspect this is a sourcing issue more than a kitchen issue. Still, when the brand advertises Prime and charges accordingly, the product needs to match. A simple menu disclosure explaining temporary supply limitations would go a long way toward setting expectations honestly. Strong service and drinks, but the core of the meal didn’t meet the brand’s historical standard. I hope the chain tightens quality control as supply stabilizes.

We ordered our steaks well done. Both our steaks were charred like in the photo. Mine was the less charred of the two. You can cook well done without this amount of charring. That’s all I could really taste. The mashed potatoes were good. The creamed spinach was not enjoyed. Since seafood makes me sick, I asked if there were anchovies in the caesar salad and was confidently told no. We tasted it and it’s in there and confirmed by another server. There goes the salad.

I never tried Ruth's Chris before, so I figured it could be a good treat for my birthday to get a steak someone else cooks. I got the boneless ribeye ($71, 16 oz). Nice quality meat, great touch to finish with butter and on the hot plate, but it was extremely underseasoned. There were salt and pepper shakers on the table, which are usually a last resort for me. For the price, I would have expected better execution. Service was very good, maybe a little aggressive and indifferent to feedback. Everything else about the experience was very good.

So i will try to keep it short & to the point Went for a dinner on Sunday night around 8:15 to a less then packed house . I was not dressed to the nines nor was my son but we were definitely neat and absolutely casual with jeans and sweatshirts on ...Again its late Sunday night and joked are we able to have dinner dressed like we were .The hostess said you guys are fine but we would have to sit by the bar as we didnt meet the standards for the main dining room . I said ok as we may have been slighly under dressed & even though i was comfortable being a Sunday night we sat at a nice table in the bar area . I had to use the restroom so i got up and walked through the main dinning area and quickly noticed there were other patrons dressed similarly with sweatshirts and jeans on yet they were seated in the main dinning area ? After using the rest room and walking back to my table i began to think hey if others are dressed like that then why were we told we had to sit by the bar when dressed the same as others in the main dinning area. When i got back to our table we were served by an amazing polite staff and enjoyed a fantastic meal As i've come to expect from this establishment. The meal was great but i definitely was still thinking why we were seated where we were so i checked the locations website and checked into their locations dress code which i included a picture off directly of their website which simply says no hats, shorts, ripped jeansetc or clothing with offensive language on it which was not us at all . For me I was brought up by hard working adults who always told me as long as you have money to pay for you meal dont be embarrassed by what you are wearing but yet i strangly now was due to the slection process of who sits where. So because I was evaluated I started to do the same to the place i choose to spend my money in and noticed that this location itself wasnt up to par with what i have come to expect from this brand. Please look at the pictures and make your own evaluation on what was now clear to me that this place worries too much as to what patrons wear and not enough about the more important things. The bathroom was simply filthy ...I mean as in dried spit on the mirror, filthy handles on the sink,a rusty mirror painted over kand wall that was painted over in spots like you would expect to see in a cheap9 strip club . The mirrors above our table also had not been wiped down in a long time and over all this location isnt being well kept. In closing the service was impeccable, the food was what you would expect and unfortunately felt like they should get their own house in order before you judge what your customers wear when coming to eat

We were tucked away into a back room right after they realized that our party of 4 included 2 kids so we did not get to enjoy the ambiance even though the main floor was almost empty . We purposefully had an early 5 o’clock dinner to beat the date night rush. The room looked like an office and was kept at frigid temperature. We had tuna and it was seasoned to the max to mask bad fish. My white was served lukewarm. I had salmon that was extremely fishy (not fresh kind) it had 3 sad shrimp on top that were cold and obviously precooked ( I hope that day) the sauce it came with was 70%salt 30%butter. The food was so salty - my mouth was numb for the rest of the day. My husband’s steak was well done - with 0 pink - not what he ordered. We have been to other locations and it is sad that they could mess up the chain in Albany - no return for us. I added a star for attentive service otherwise I would have given one.

I ordered a small filet, medium rare, with a lobster tail and Au gratin potatoes. The first cut looked well done. I thought that maybe the outside was overcooked, but it wasn't. The whole steak was well done. The waiter comes over, and he agrees. The potatoes, which were $14, weren't very good either. The lobster tail was small but tender and tasted good. The 2nd steak comes out, and it looks better, but it was medium well to well all the way through. My brother got a T-bone that was cooked nicely, but not much flavor. Overall, I was very disappointed. They offered me a free dessert, but I wasn't interested.

Quite frankly everything was mediocre at best. Not a thing stood out except for the service from our waiter who was good. My friends simple medium rare strip had had to go back twice? (They did comp his meal but still it's a damed steakhouse. This is theoretically their thing. ) And if you're serving seafood with a steak that's put on a 500* platter it's going to get burnt. Serve it separately. This isn't rocket science. There are so many places that deserve our hard earned dollar's.

The steak & ceaser salad were good, the sides came cold & my lobster that I gave to my friend wasn’t fully cooked. I wouldn’t honestly recommend & it was my first experience. Too expensive to not be phenomenal food & service very disappointing.

We went 9/20/23 as a party of 2, pics are the dishes we liked. The table was set up cute. Our waitress (Amanda) was friendly and attentive. The bread was dry and just overall poor quality. Ceasar salad was good. The spicy shrimp wasn't spicy at all but was tasty. The lobster bisque just tasted like brandy? Veey off-putting. The lobster mac n cheese was dry and they left the lobster on top before broiling so all that was dry as well. Steak was cooked the way it was ordered and was good. Creamed spinach was very good. The waitress said "dessert is on us for your anniversary " we thought this was a very nice touch; however, we both ordered dessert and they charged us for 1. I think going forward they need to make sure it's clear it's only 1 dessert not "dessert is on us". I pointed this out but they still left it on our bill. Tables were a little crammed in. We paid $409 after tip. Overall compared to other restaurants in the same price range I think this place is lacking.

Don’t buy into the hype. Expensive Rubbish. Too many basic fails for $170 solo meal. Uneducated bartender. Could not make a vieux carre…New Orleans signature cocktail, fail on embracing their history. No bread or butter served. Fail. Caesar salad- dressed well. Plenty of shaved parm. Sadly No anchovy. Literally 1 crouton… fail French onion- bland. Lacked salt. No beef flavor. Mediocre caramelization on the onions. Zero sherry or madeira flavor… barely broiled cheese, sent back to kitchen. Terrible. Fail Filet - cooked Perfectly. Seasoned well. Bernaise sauce was a bit too thick, surprise herb stem found its way into my mouth. Fail. Lobster- perfectly cooked. Lemon not wrapped. Sprays all over and seeds, fail. Butter served wasn’t clarified. Milk solid on the bottom. Fail. Creamed spin.- lacked salt. Nice texture. Garlic mashed. Lacked seasoning. Nice texture...till you find the oxidized, eyes, rot spots from cheap potatoes. Send back. Fail. Cheesecake dessert- pretty excellent. Nice tart sour cream based topping. Fresh fruit. Product has a frozen thaw & serve vibe. Sadly perhaps the highlight of the meal. Shame on Ruth’s Chris to serve up such an experience for the expense.

Went to try out a new Ruth Chris location while in the area for training as a diversity and inclusion representative for a Fortune 500 company. As excited as me and long time friend from the area were a server didn’t acknowledge us until we initiated the conversation after about 15 minutes. We were the sole individuals of color, and the service at the other tables was notably more attentive, they had a few big parties but the place wasn’t busy at all. The manager welcomed several nearby tables but did not extend a greeting to us, he passed by our table multiple times without uttering a word to us but engaged in conversation with nearly every other table. Our bread didn’t arrive until the food was served, the potatoes were served cold and to go food was placed on the floor. However the lamb chops and sea bass were absolutely delicious. I cannot ascertain whether they harbor racist inclinations, but the absence of even a single black server working did raise suspicions for me. As a frequent patron of the chain in other cities I don’t believe I’ll return to this particular location, but they certainly need to improve their service.

First time we came here. Service was great, but we wait 45 minutes from the time the server walked away after food was order to the time the food came to our table. Longer than expect, I got bone in NY strip steak. Cook perfect medium rare, but except the steak might be spoiled. Since when I cut to the red center, I can smell funky from the red meat. I have eat spoiled meat before and that is exactly what is smell like. Regardless I still pay full price ($71) for it but I’m just disappointed how they don’t want to take ownership of the it. And trying to come excuse of wet aged processed and the manager mentioned they get new steak weekly. I’m not knowledgeable enough about wet aged processed but I can tell that the steak was spoiled. First time wasn’t a good experience, so not sure if we would be back, if we did probably for the cheese cake, it was to die for.

Definitely overrated!!! The food wasn’t even average it was horrible the best thing I had was some of my husbands salad. Made a reservation for 7:00 got out at 9:40. People that were seated with us were long gone about a hour before us, everything and I mean everything took forever to come out, and on what looked like to be dirty plates, oil and grease stains everywhere. My waitress looked like she was going through something that night caught her rolling her eyes after speaking with guests a few times , my $85 steak tasted like it was cooked on a grill that hasn’t been cleaned, the lobster bisque wasn’t good at all I found myself adding salt to everything !!! Crab cakes were watery with little to no crunch , shrimps were barely seasoned, seriously by far the worst dining experience of my year and I was there for my birthday!! Never again!

I understand being busy on Valentines Day 100%. What I don’t understand is telling customers on the phone that they need to come in to order takeout , so when the customer comes in literally 5 to 10 minutes later MAX - telling them takeout is closed after giving NO verbal warning over the phone. Professionalism is lost on this generation. Learn how to do your job.

Disappointing beyond measure. It was my kids first time at Ruth’s, not their first time at a Steak House. We’ve been to steak houses in many different places, Boston, Jersey, Long Island, Florida, NYC, etc. The order couldn’t have been more simple. Two filets and one strip all Medium. Medium is pink in the middle, give or take a bit on the coloring. My daughter receives her filet and its charred black and beyond well done. No moisture on the outside or juices sizzling, just a black charred piece that looks like you need a sawzaw to cut. By the time I was done letting our waitress know I then cut into my strip, completely raw. Not rare. Raw. Barely cooked. Luckily they got 1 out 3 steaks correct, my sons was as expected. The manager did try his best to correct the experience, even offering to comp the entire meal which I refused. I was happy to pay for both steaks, and the sides we ordered and the second filet my daughter received was closer to medium rare, than medium but it worked. Overall, that was probably my 4th time at Ruth’s off Wolf Rd since opening. Each time there its been a declining experience with this one being the worst. I still tipped the waitress 20% because it wasn’t her fault and she felt badly. A good steak house is not about cost but receiving a quality experience on all fronts and trusting they have a backend whom understand how to prepare a proper steak. Unfortunately, this place lacks that experience.

Came here for Valentine’s Day and was treated like a hoodlum. Seated in a bad area and when requested to move was told other areas are for business attire! SMH! However I was able to get help from another waitress who help me move in a more comfortable table. And there were many non-business attire areas. I’m not going back and recommending any one who goes here to stand up for yourself and report any mistreatment. Also, wasn’t greeted by any staff but other people (white)or business attire where!

My husband and I dined in the lounge at Ruth's Chris Steak House on Thursday, February 12th at approximately 4:30 PM. It was my husband's first time there, and I had done nothing but rave about the food and service beforehand. He works incredibly hard, and I was truly excited to treat him to a nice evening out that I believed would live up to the restaurant's reputation. Unfortunately, while the food was absolutely delicious, the service completely ruined the experience. Our waiter Matt had zero personality and made no effort to engage with us. There was no warmth, no conversation, and no attentiveness. He appeared irritated and bothered to be waiting on us, as if we were an inconvenience. From start to finish, his attitude felt cold and unwelcoming. I ordered the 6-ounce filet with shrimp and a lemon drop martini. My husband ordered the 6-ounce filet with lobster and a Heineken. The food was excellent, exactly what I had remembered and hoped for. However, my husband's empty Heineken bottle sat at the edge of our table for the remainder of our meal. Even when the waiter (Matt) came by to ask if we were ready for the check, he never cleared it and never once asked if my husband would like another beer or if we needed anything else. For a $211 bill, we expected a level of service that matched the quality of the food and the restaurant's reputation. Instead, we received inattentive and unpleasant service that overshadowed the entire evening. My husband left saying he will never return, which is incredibly disappointing considering how highly I had spoken of this restaurant. | left a 15% tip, which was more generous than the service warranted. Frankly, it felt undeserved. I am genuinely upset and saddened by this experience. I wanted my husband's first visit to be special, and instead it was frustrating and disappointing. Experiences like this are extra disappointing when you're trying to make the night special for someone you love. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because service like this does not reflect the standard an upscale steakhouse should uphold.

Super disappointed considering this is supposed to be an upscale steakhouse, you would think they could cook a simple burger. I ordered a burger medium rare, and the bartender even confirmed that I wanted it with a warm, red center. I said yes, that would be perfect. It came out way overcooked, medium well. When the hostess asked how everything was, I showed her that I thought it was overcooked, and she even said she saw a little pink in there—clearly not as I had ordered it. I didn’t want to send it back because I was afraid of the consequences, but she insisted she wanted me to be happy. Sure enough, the burger that came out the second time was totally raw. It was as if the kitchen was sending me a big “we’ll show her” message. It was inedible. However, my dog enjoyed it. I was taking a friend there for her birthday, and at least she enjoyed her meal, and the drinks were good, so that’s a positive. But this was a terrible experience. I’ve been to other Ruth Chris locations, and never had a problem, but this was the worst.
