Best tasting pizza I have had in a very long time
This place is so nice and the guy they had out front was awesome. Very friendly and good at making conversation that was appropriate for the situation. As soon as we walked in I could smell how good this place was going to be. The overall atmosphere was a really nice mix of casual and more upscale. Very nice seating arrangements and I loved the nice blue fake fire place. I would definitely recommend them. We also went during a time when it was not very busy about 4pm yet there were still a handful of tables full despite the unpopular time.
I just recently started coming here and let me just say, this pizza place has exceeded all expectations. The staff truly go above and beyond to satisfy their customers. Not only are the staff great, but the food is fantastic, fresh, and such high quality. The atmosphere of this place is great; such welcoming and homey vibes, also very clean. If I could describe any pizza place to come to around here, I wouldn’t even think twice. I cannot recommend this place enough to anyone who enjoys Italian food, they have a great selection and great prices. If you’re in the area, definitely stop by!!!
Huge selection of pizza slices. Very good pizza open real late like 1:00 a.m I think. Not that many places to eat this late since covid.
My first time there today, we attended the rally on wolf rd. We noticed staff members bringing pizza out to attendees at the rally, so we decided to support their business. A large clean restaurant with so many pizza choices. I had a slice of chicken teriyaki and a slice of chicken broccoli ranch. Never having had these flavors - delicious, crust crisp/ chewy and service was quick and they graciously accommodated my request for a to go box for the my leftovers. We will return.
Overall this is a win, win! The service was good and the food was great. Their calzones are easily the equivalent of a large pizza that can feed 3 ppl easily! I got the cheese calzone and struggled to finish 1/3! It was absolutely delicious and would recommend it to anyone in the upstate New York area!
One of my kids has a theory: pizza gets worse along a scale as you go from the NYC area to Buffalo, while the reverse is true of chicken wings. Golden Grain Pizza Colonie certainly helped prove that theory. We chose to get pizza there for absolutely no other reasons than it was conveniently located at the end of the street our hotel was on; it was open late; and they had pizza. We order a large plain cheese pizza (vegetarian kid, couldn’t agree on toppings) and two slices of the chocolate cake. Pizza was ready exactly on time (we ordered before we left downtown, so waited a few minutes in the parking lot, but that was expected), and was still piping hot when we got up to our room. Cheese pizza to me is always the true test of decent pizza: you can’t disguise poor taste with the toppings. The crust was done to perfection, with just the right amount of crunch vs. chew. Sauce was flavorful without being too sweet as some sauces are, but also managed to avoid that sometimes acidic taste. Cheese was perfectly browned, and had just the right amount. The chocolate cake was divine: dark and rich, and generously sliced. For picking a pizza place completely at random, this was an excellent surprise, and we would definitely order from again if we are in the Albany area.
The staff is the greatest. Super friendly to everyone. The food is really good! Manager created a pickle pizza from my suggestion and it was awesome. Can’t wait to go again!
Great pizza, large variety available. Polite and respectful staff. Eaten here easily 40 times as I work nearby for 3 years. Crust is on the thin side but perfectly cooked, and they warm up the pizza for you. I usually get their combo of 2 slices and drink for $7 I think. Never had a bad slice. Clean inside and out... especially important bcs they have at least 9 pies on display all the time and the door open. Never see any bugs flying around the pizzas. My favorite is broccoli and ricotta cheese, second favorite is pepperoni and mushrooms. I also like their vegetable and plain cheese pizzas. Hubby had chicken bacon ranch slice as well as one with eggplant today. He's super finicky and liked both, but he loved the eggplant (his first time there). He was also impressed because they weren't cheap on the toppings (many pizza places seem to cut down on toppings to make more profit) and the eggplant slice he had was generously covered with toppings (the other three slices did too). I'm thrilled he liked their pizza so I can order and bring home when I get out of work. He's old school: born and raised in Brooklyn so he is really picky about his pizza and doesn't like any other places we have tried in Albany so far. I'm happy I get to have more pizza in the future ;) 11/2020 update... just look at this yummy loaded chicken parm pizza! Had to stop eating to take a pic!
Called every other pizza spot in 518, no one had meatzonit in stock. Golden grain gave us no fuss when we asked for meatzonit. 5 stars.
around here it can be really tough to find a place that does a proper wyoming style “meatzonit” pizza. thanks to the lord above, i found golden grain pizza who had meatzonit ready to go!! delicious! -Joey
Stopped in for the first time today and I'm glad I did! There was a huge selection and my meat lover's slice was excellent. The dining area is very nice for a pizza joint. The guys behind the counter were friendly. Will return soon!
My first time here, pizza was delicious, place is spacious, clean & beautiful!! It has an outdoor seating option, service was great & my son loved it!! We will be back next week for our weekly pizza adventure 😁
Golden Grain Pizza offers a delightful dining experience with delicious, freshly made pizzas. The crust is perfectly crispy, and the toppings are always fresh and generous. Whether you choose a classic Margherita or a specialty pizza, the flavors are always on point and satisfying. The service at Golden Grain Pizza is friendly and efficient, making every visit enjoyable. The staff is welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy, making it a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. Overall, it's a great place for tasty pizza and a relaxed dining experience, I give it a 5 star.
Golden Grain is hands down the best pizza shop in the area! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the warm aroma of freshly baked dough and authentic ingredients. Their pizza is nothing short of perfection—crispy crust, rich sauce, and generous toppings that leave your taste buds craving more. But what really sets this place apart is the exceptional service. A special shoutout to Kareem, who is not only incredibly professional but also highly knowledgeable about every item on the menu. Whether you’re unsure about which pizza to try or need a recommendation for the perfect side dish, Kareem has you covered. His friendly demeanor and passion for great food make every visit a memorable experience. Golden Grain is a true gem, and Kareem is the shining star that keeps customers coming back for more!
With great food, great service, and good value, Golden Grain has been my go to for the past 10 years. They have by far the best calzones I've ever had, and the chicken parm calzone is my favorite. The calzones are also huge, and are a great deal at the current price. The food has always been exceptional, but recently I was really impressed with the customer service as well. I placed an order with a lot of specific requests last night and the staff was great about making sure everything was made correctly. Overall I couldn't be happier with Golden Grain.
Not being from around here, the place is unique for me. A pizza place that is dine in and open until 1am, awesome. Pizza by the slice, ready when you walk in, awesome. The food is good, the guys working there are genuine. It looks like a cool place to hang out with fire on the patio. All around great place.
Discovered Golden Grain when going to lunch with coworkers, excellent food and experience. It was also a hit with the family and kids, everything we have tried from the menu has been excellent. From food to dessert. The outdoor seating is cozy with occasional views of airplanes from the airport. Golden Grain in Colonie is a whole vibe!!! ♡♡♡
We were staying in a nearby hotel and ordered carry out. When we arrived we were impressed with the atmosphere and all the choices for pizza by the slice. We ordered a calzone. 12.99 for a 16 inch calzone with up to four ingredients. It was a bargain. Absolutely the best calzone we ever had. A plus for us-No ricotta in it. We ended up staying at the restaurant and eating our to go order there on the outdoor patio. If you are visiting Albany like we are, absolutely find Golden Grain and give it a try.
I visited this place for the first time while I was running errands and needed to stop for food. Since being gluten free (intolerance not an allergy), I'm always looking for a good gluten free pizza, their website said they had it so I stopped in. Their display of pizzas ready to go was amazing and made me miss my gluten-full days immensely! Their gluten free pizzas need to be ordered as a full pie (6 cut is their smallest) and are cooked fresh with any toppings. About 15 minutes later I had my pie and it was awesome!!! Unfortunately, it does not make good left overs, which is the case with every gluten free pizza I've tried so I did not hold it against them in this review. I do not know if they have a separate oven for their gluten free pizzas, so there may be cross contamination for those with severe sensitivity. Hope this helps!
Repeat customer staying at Airport Inn a short walk away. My first order was the special- large cheese pizza & garlic knots, and I bought a 2L diet Pepsi to take back to the room. They have a counter by the cooler where I added garlic and black pepper (free coffee and tea). Pizza was uniformly cooked in their spinning stones oven, and not burnt at all. Just right all the way through. Knots were buttery and yummy as well. Next I ordered a steak and cheese & 2L diet Pepsi. What a yummy delight. Gooey cheese and nice steak bits that were all edible (no surprises). Then I ordered spaghetti & meatballs with a slice of chocolate cake and a diet Pepsi 2L because I've got to counterbalance all these tasty food options somehow! Thin spaghetti (yay!), red sauce and meatballs didn't last long. No overpowering flavors just a nice regular sauce fit for almost everyone. Thin spaghetti instead of the thick rope spaghetti mom used to make made me eat even faster, and I could cut the tender meatballs with my plastic spoon. The chocolate cake was just like you'd expect, I just wish the slices were bigger because it was SO CHOCOLATEY! Nice atmosphere inside, but I got all of my meals to go. The staff is very friendly and eager to help you fill your belly.
Found this place looking for late night slices after getting off of a plane and it did not disappoint! Shocked that they were not only open super late, but also had slices! I can’t tell you how great it was to just pop in and go after a very long day of airport delays, rather than waiting 20 minutes for a whole pizza. The pizza was delicious too! A definite win!! Thank you Golden Grain Pizza!! 👍🏻
Easy 5 star. Don’t know if Dave from Barstool has been here yet but he’d go an easy 9.4 on the quality, taste, undercarriage etc. awesome slice. Plus Vasila behind the counter was super friendly and welcoming. She’s got an excellent attitude and earned my business any time I travel to the Albany area.
The food was excellent. The workers are not great at communicating much of anything. There was a TV playing mood music and serene visuals with the volume up oppressively loud. It made having a reasonable conversation pretty difficult
Ordered pizza and salads from here and had delivered to us. Pizza was really good including the gluten free one. The amazing part was how good the salads were. Very unusual for a Pizza restaurant. I would definately eat here again.
I can't say enough good things about this place! I flew up from the ravaged areas of western NC to work shifts at a hospital. All I wanted was a decent meal after flying. I found this location just by Google maps and clicking open now: I am so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted, welcomed in, handed a menu. It was nearly midnight, the display cases still had a significant and quality appearing slices of pizza. The music was the perfect volume, the prices beyond reasonable. But what stood out: even at midnight, the pizza was heated perfectly, the pasta dish was huge and was pipping hot. The location was super clean. Easy parking. The staff was SO NICE. 5/5. And you should know, the gentleman, whose name I don't know was cleaning the pizza display case and went over each level of the case until there wasn't a crumb left. If I lived closer, this would be my go to restaurant. Bravo! This is how a restaurant is run!
Had a fantastic med pizza here. Ahmet was very warm and welcoming and the overall ambiance of the restaurant was relaxing. Good food, good service, good vibes.
I'm very happy all around. Wanted just two slices, and the employee told me to get the special with a can of soda that was cheaper. Thank you!! Albany has an excellant Pizza place to go to. Plenty of variety as well. Bravo!! 2 special slices and soda less than $9. wow!! Pizza was so good I forgot to take pic before.
First time at Golden Grains while staying at Hampton Inn right next door. All the food items we saw on display looked great, but as it was a very hot evening opted for two garden salads to go and carried back to our hotel. Salads were large, loaded with crispy fresh ingredients and well worth the cost. Although we did not eat in the dining atea, the dining atea was clean, tidy, and a great atmosphere for dining. When in the area again, we will definitely stop in and try their pizza as the ones we saw, were large and looked delicious. Excellent place for quick, good eats at a vary reasonable price.
Fast friendly service. Delicious pizza. Crust is really nice and a good price.
I went in late last night to grab a few slices of the chicken, broccoli ranch. Delish!!! And everyone was so friendly happy and engaging. I have to give them a five star for this one Thank you, Golden Grain Pizza
I would've posted pictures but the food was gone before I could even take pics lol The food was amazing and the service was even better! I accidentally left my wedding ring on the tray and dumped it in the trash 😭. But a sweet and super kind employee offered to help me find it and wife didn't have to kill me after all! 🥲
I’m at the Tru Hilton by the airport and they delivered this tasty meal right to my room. After traveling all day this was a wonderful surprise! The Mediterranean Salad was so fresh and crisp. A huge slice of feta was beyond my expectations. I used the coupon in the pamphlet for a medium pizza with three toppings for $13.99. Fantastic deal! The salad was $9.99 and worth every cent. The driver drove through snow and was very kind. Wonderful flavors and nice crust! They are open super late which worked out great for me!
Stopped in for my first NY slice and was blown away by the choices and deliciousness 😋 Highy recommend the fresh tomato basil!! The balsamic dressing on here makes this pizza the absolute best🍕 the crust is very crispy crunchy and chewy at the same time. Not sure how they do it but it's perfection 🤌🙏
Sitting at Golden Grain Gourmet Pizza as I write this review. I must say that I absolutely enjoyed both the Steak and Cheese Sub and the sausage and pepperoni pizza slice. Both were hot and fresh made with flavorful ingredients. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The dining room is comfortable and well designed. I will definitely continue to stop in, this was my second time. You will find the menu has Pizza, sandwiches, calzones, pasta, gyros, wraps, hot and cold subs, quesadillas, wide variety of gourmet pizza and dessert. Also vegan selections and the facility is handicap accessible. Golden Grain is open until 1:00 am. The visit exceeded my expectations. Certainly worth your consideration...
Golden Grain in Colonie never misses. The pizza is always fresh and delicious, and their wings, subs, quesadillas, and dinners are all on point. Great portions, fast service, and super friendly staff. One of those reliable local spots you keep going back to. Highly recommend!
Stopped in while in the area for work and will be back! I tried three different kinds of pizza (buffalo chicken, bbq chicken, and plain cheese). All three were great! Crispy bottom, crispy yet doughy crust, good toppings. I also tried the pistachio pie—yummy!! Super light and airy with a light sweet pistachio flavor, not overpowering. Makes me wanna try another kind to bring back to the hotel!! And price is great too! $8.99 for two big slices and a can of pop! And service?? Super friendly and helpful to this outta-towner!
This is a great spot!!!! The pizza was delicious and the selection is great. Customer service was on point and I would come back anytime I’m in the area!!! Hyder, took the initiative to propose a combo when I was placing my order. Definitely a must try and to top it all off, they offer complementary tea and coffee in a superb atmosphere. Simply Amazing
Reliable, standard menu. Haven't had a bad meal here. The staff is polite. Eating there is okay I guess, but best for takeout.
Stopped for lunch as a party of three. It was empty at the time (just past noon), so plenty of seating options. We kept our order simple- a large pepperoni pizza, garlic knots, and mozzarella sticks. Portion sizes seemed to match the prices pretty well. If anything, it was the flavor that seemed lacking. Everything was good, but nothing stood out. If I ever find myself here again (yes, I would go back), maybe I'll be a little more adventurous in my order to try and find something that really stands out.
The pizza is really good!!! Had the meat lovers and it was so good! Dough is crispy and the flavors were not over powering. A little pricey. But worth it. Reheated it at home because we had to do some shopping after buying it. The place looks beautiful too! Very inviting and beautiful!
Great medium wings. Cheeseburger sub also solid, although forgot to add ketchup??? Good carrot cake. Ate in the hotel
sandwich and pizza was good here. I would have liked better service. The bearded guy who runs the place needed to be more respectful of clients. Was seated at one of the few larger tables they had, almost finished and saw he wanted to assign it to a group of 5 or 6 older guys waiting, he ought to wait for us to leave and not try to rush the move of our leftover we asked to box to an adjacent table. I'd likely do take-out next time.
We visited Golden Grain Gourmet Pizza in Albany, New York during our travels and ordered four different pizzas to try. The Chicken Alfredo pizza was creamy with plenty of flavor. The Chicken Parmesan pizza had a well balanced sauce and cheese combination that stood out. The Teriyaki pizza was a unique surprise with a sweet and savory taste that worked better than expected. The traditional slice was large and satisfying, the kind of portion that makes it worth the price. The pizzas came out quickly since they were reheated slices, but the marinara on the side was a different story. When I went back to the counter to ask for it warmed up, it was handed to me cold from the refrigerator. That was the only downside to the service. Overall, Golden Grain Gourmet Pizza delivered great taste across four very different styles of pizza. With a little more attention to detail on customer service, it could easily reach a full five stars.
The regular pizza is great, unfortunately I ordered the Sicilian tonight.Yeah dough should be thick but not as thick as it is, especially considering the minimal amount of sauce and cheese on it. Pitiful. If you order delivery be aware your phone ringer has to be on because the drivers sit in car in road or parking lot calling over and over rather than getting out of car and ringing bell/buzzer!! I added a note on order saying to get out of car and ring bell because my phone was on silent. They call and say they are there...meaning sitting in car with it running and you are supposed to go to them!!! Pathetic. Get out and do your job. Last time guy yelled at me because I missed calls from him...my phone was on silent because it was late. So pitiful and pathetic issues need to be resolved. I'll try again in few months and if things are same that will it.
Gave them a try for the first time last night. Ordered a standard cheese pie online. It was ready for pickup pronto and the young man behind the counter handed it over with a smile. As for the pizza itself...Meh. Nothing much to like about the crust. It was ordered well done, yet there was no crispness to it. As for the sauce, there wasn't much of it and what little there was didn't have much in the flavor department. If I had to make a comparison, I'd say it's what I might expect if it were pizza day in a cafeteria. I mean, if someone were to tell me I gotta try their square pie or that one of their specialty pizzas was truly outstanding, I might give it another shot. Outside that, I'm gonna just call it a swing and a miss. Had high hopes after seeing around 1,100 reviews and most of them good. Hope this wasn't their best attempt at a cheese pie.
Have visited here before this time i had to give my oder 4 times to the guy at the counter. Personality Dry would be an understatement. Definitely shouldn't be the face of the place. I had to go to counter x2 after he drop our "for here " pizza on table in a box, no plates nothing. They gotta do better than this.
They are really going down hill. I’m the front office manager of try by Hilton and refer all of my guest here because their food was good. But now the last 3 orders I’ve made they have messed up and 2 were salads. Don’t get how you really do that. And I spent over $100 on a order and could only eat the boneless wings because everything else was over cooked to the point I was scared to eat it because I thought I would break a tooth or items were just missing things completely. Truly disappointed and when I just called about my salad missing things I just got a uuuhhhh sorry to hear that. Definitely recommending the new pizza place in town to my guest
I am not from the Albany area. I visited this establishment for dinner. The gourmet pizza looked burnt,so I chose pasta with melted cheese, mushrooms, no meat with sauce on the side, and small salad. The total price was 14 dollars, and change. I got the order to go. I walked back to the hotel. To my astonishment, I opened it with great anticipation of inhaling it and surprise!, no mushrooms,no cheese. Jokes on me! The container had plain pasta in it with some sauce on the side. I was tired and consumed it . The sauce was good, and the side salad was decent. The service was very friendly. My advice is to check the loot before you run out the door. They will promise the moon and forget to put it in the sky.
I was looking forward to a Gyro, so thought I'd try Gold grain. They offer beef, chicken, and veal. I asked the counter person if the veal was real or processed veal and was assured it was real. The Gyro wrap I received was about four inches long. Where did they even find a gyro wrap that small. It had very little lettuce, tomato, and onions. It hardly had any sour cream. The veal was processed veal, not sliced veal and I top of that, the meat was dry having been overcooked (burned). The only reason I am giving two stars is that the fries were good but then you had to open many mini ketchup packets available on a side counter in order to enjoy them. They had BBQ sauce, hot sauce, and several other plastic bottle condiments on the counter. At $14 for a mini gyro you would think they could spring for full size or refillable ketchup bottles. Anyway, if you are looking for good wraps/sandwiches there are certainly many other establishments in the Albany area that serve better for this price.
Just fed a group 3 XL pizzas ordered for takeout at 9 PM. Picked up at earliest completion time, 9:35, and drove 12 minutes to the location were my group was. Pizza was cold, or just barely above room temperature. Tasted like it had been sitting for a considerable time under the heat lamp rather than freshly cooked. Not what I expected. Just did not seem baked to order, so over priced for what it was.
I ordered a veggie pizza with no cheese, but with red sauce. In 15 minutes I was delivered a cheese pizza with veggies on top. The guy who took my order just sighed- his associate got my order correct after another 15 minute wait (while my table companion was finished with their meal.) The first guy didn’t even listen to my order: and he was all like “I got you man, sure thing let’s do this” bro crap. I only wanted my correct order. That part was failed. The pizza (eventually) was bland. Flavorless. The marinara had no flavor, no appeal at all. Bready crust barely browned. “Veggies” were undercooked which given the delay in delivery, I was fine with. Just a poor experience. All the slices in the case looked 100% better than the pizza I was delivered. Thanks to the second guy- I appreciate his help.
Food is delicious!!! Unfortunately the customer service was VERY disappointing!!! I tried to claim a deal posted on their website and got the run around. Was told that it was from 2 weeks ago. If a deal is still being advertised, I feel that they should honor it, instead of that the manager told me there was nothing he could do. So disappointing
Slow, not great, horrible service. The server didn’t tell us when our to go order was ready we had to ask them a bunch and when it was ready they forgot it in the window. Our gyros was ordered with sauce on the side and they forgot the sauce entirely. The only plus is that they had a vegan and gluten free pizza option which wasn’t horrible. It didn’t say on the online ordering platform that each topping for my vegetable pizza was $2 so it ended up being way more expensive than it should’ve been.
I have ordered food many times from this store I but doubt I will again. Yesterday, June 29, 2025, I ordered lunch as a birthday gift for my coworker consisting of a small antipasta salad, an order of fries and a buffalo chicken calzone. First it took over an hour and a half to get it (they dud send a note it was running late), but when we finally did get it, it was the worst I ever had. The put the calzone on top of my salad which melted the cheese onto the rest abd wilted the lettuce and what was suppose to be ham tasted spoiled, the French fries were barely warm and were limp and soggy and the calzone was burned and hard to bite into. The meal was completely ruined for everyone. Also when the driver got there I said you guys must be busy and he said no. What the hell. I work for a doctors office who also has done a lot of business with them and I'm sure the other staff will be not to find if what ive got to say either. It was a complete waste of time and my money.
Just went to try their pizza again after experience from pizza Bella, same bad experience and the quality is worse. Very disappointing and wouldn’t recommend to go. Staff was rude and felt like no one working wanted to be there. Update: Tried to get ahold of the store over the phone to place an order and been waiting for over 20 min! Haha, don’t know why I even tried again.
The manager is very rude. Doesn’t care about the customers always has an attitude. Every time I order something they mess it up. Then complain like I’m not spending my hard earned money. They disregard all your complaints and then tell you if you dont order if you’re going to complain. That’s the closet restaurant to my job but after my experience today they will not get another $1 out of me. Very distasteful.
Very disappointed with my food. We had a big order from work. Pepperoni roll barely had any pepperoni on it. I have ordered this many times and never had this problem. I could not even tell it was a pepperoni roll, I could barely see the pepperoni in it. Maybe 10 small pieces of pepperoni in this entire loaf of bread. I doubt I will order from here again. It's so bad I can't eat it because I don't even taste any pepperoni, it's just bread with cheese in it.
The owner exhibited highly unprofessional and discourteous behavior. I contacted him to report unauthorized credit card charges and the necessity of initiating a dispute. His response was, "Why are you informing me if you have already disputed it?" He also mentioned that I should have deactivated my card as soon as I noticed the issue. He concluded by stating that he is now at a loss and unable to provide further assistance. I neglected to mention that I reside in New Jersey and wished to inform him that unauthorized individuals are utilizing other people's cards.
One of the most flavorless and mediocre pizzas I've ever had. The crust is so bad - way too much dough and the sauce is incredibly bland. They really skimp on toppings. Less than 15 pieces of pepperoni on a medium! Save your $$!
I’m a full Dasher, This place is super hit or miss, if you love sourdough and I’ve never had their pizza it’s worth a try. A lot of kids must like it because it’s very sweet between the tomato sauce and the sweet sourdough a little bit too much for most mature pallets, though sometimes they can be somewhat fast while a lot of the time they just have no interest you can regularly find 5 to 7 employees here not actively working on anything, but there are two guys who take everything out cut everything put it all in the boxes and do all that for you so there are at least two people busting butt really hard. They’re just not the people that you see upfront, Good for a bite not really for a meal most of the time I just skip it because it’ll take too long anyway
Food is pretty good but there service is horrible. Ordered a pizza amd it wasn't even right and all they said is they would do a credit and not even replace the pizza like it was my fault. Never ordering there again
1st time we had pizza there it's was good so i thought let do it again. Never again will I order from them the pizza was not even cut and completely burned. I was in a rush and didn't look until i got home. I don't understand how you can give a burned pizza to a customer..... not going back..
All of th photos look amazing. This is NOT pizza dough…I have had better frozen pizza. It’s kind of like bad French bread. $60 for 3 pizza paid extra for extra pep hardly any! The staff could care less if you are there…one in the corner eating salad, one hovering by her, I guy eating pizza off the top of the oven and 4 dudes in the back corner…couldn’t get anyone’s attention. WOW WILL NOT GO THERE AGAIN.
I had previously given this restaurant a 4/5. I've been going to Golden Grain for many years, long before they moved locations. We've also had many events catered by them. Unfortunately, the quality continues to drop. Tonight was my last trip there. Walked in, not much to choose from as it's 7:00pm. Asked the guy working the counter if he could put some mushrooms on a cheese slice and heat it up. He actually refused, stating that it is their policy to not "edit slices". I asked him when they started that policy. He replied, "it's always been that way". Absolute joke, I think I have been visiting longer than that employee has been alive. The service at Golden Grain used to be so good that the employees would apologize if they didn't have what you wanted and offered to "edit the slice" to make up for it. What happened?
my father in law found a LONG BLACK hair , with a dust bunny and dirt in our $128 order on his broccoli pizza. especially since this was a small child's birthday party with 50+ people over and got the food around 6pm. I was absolutely DISGUSTED and mortified !!!!! I called the following day to just let them know and the "manager" sounded annoyed and was rude !!!! asked me "why i didnt call them last night!!!!!! and usually people call immediately!" that was their response!! I advised that I was extremely busy cleaning and trying to enjoy the rest of my twins party and watching several small kids. ( LONG NIGHT ) I was "a little busy" He the asked me what i want?!?!?!!?? who says that!!! nothing. Just wanted to advise, and I ended up hanging up on them. he didn't listen and didnt even apologize, especially since this completely ruined the party !!! No accountability!! He thought i was looking for free food or something?!?!?!?!?! absolutely disgusting!!!! my employer nor friends and family will never go there again!!! you can do better Golden Grain!!! you should be embarrassed, not only for the LONG BLACK HAIR and dust in our food alone, but HOW you handled the situation!!! GROSSSS, absolutely disgusting!!!!!
Inconsistent delivery times since they moved, which whatever, not the end of the world, but service is pretty inept too. Last time, I ordered garlic parm wings for delivery and they sent me plain and a cup of garlic sauce. Usually when you order wings they....put the sauce on the wings. Genuinely never had a company send me plain wings and a cup of buffalo, or bbq, or garlic parm, or whatever, in my life. If I order pepperoni pizza, do they send cheese pizza with a bag of pepperoni on the side? I called and they told me that they didn't know they were supposed to sauce the wings, as if that's a strange request. Maybe it was a new manager or something, but I'll probably just order from elsewhere going forward
This location really takes their time. I’m a full-time Dasher and I take my customers time in my own time very seriously if you’re going to be 20 minutes late on every single order you’re taking money right out of peoples pockets they don’t care about their jobs or yours. I use my one percent Dasher privilege of blocking a restaurant on this one every two weeks when it gives me the list to fill if you’re a Dasher do not accept orders here they will screw you and your customers with cold food
