I always order the French toast platter with sausage it’s my favorite I be tearing that jawn up I usually order it through uber eats so I’m gonna take the time to go into the spot in person I ordered my baby some home fries they could have been seasoned better but overall their food is good and consistent in taste

Breakfast special #4 with scrambled eggs, grits, and rye toast. The portions are big enough that they save time and dirty dishes by serving food in a nice container so you can put the lid on and bring your leftovers with you! It's a great place to go on a Saturday morning to get a nice home cooked breakfast!
First I want to say the service was top notch! The ladies working the counter were in total synergy with great customer service. The lady that helped me fixed my tea soooo good with lemon and sugar. She fixed so I can drink it while I waited for my food to go. The food was ok to good. The grits were ok but everything else was great. Cute neighborhood spot.
This is a more laid-back diner. Many people from the community go here. Many people from the outside of the community go there as well. Did South Pearl Street diner has been in business for decades. I love everybody who works here the cooks are fantastic The waitresses are terrific the owner is so pleasant it is so nice to go in there to have a small something to eat if you can have a quick bite or you can get something a little more than I usually get the food is very very good very very tasty.
Place was friendly like always food was delicious and the bacon was everything. I loved the grits with cheese and the sunny side up eggs. Food was fresh and good . Thank u for old School diner food

I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese on a bagel. My order was taken right away and only took about 5 minutes to be put together. The sandwich cost $7. The bagel was toasted and buttered to perfection! The bacon wasn't too crispy either. They do serve coffee, and there are a few booths you can sit at if you prefer to stay & dine. The inside of the business seems a little outdated & probably could use some updating. This coffee shop has been serving downtown Albany for many years!
This little coffee shop is amazing! I never would have thought I'd find such a delicious eatery on South Pearl street, no offense meant! I ordered eggs and corned beef hash and it came with really great home fries and buttered toast.. I also ordered a tea with cream and sugar and it was made PERFECTLY and I'm super picky about how my tea is made! This place is fantastic, can't wait to visit again!
Best breakfast in Albany. Fresh eggs, perfect home fries , pancakes-basically everything.. Friendly staff in an old fashioned coffee shop. BTW- they’ve been here over 25 years, same owner
My favorite greasy spoon breakfast spot. One of the few places that have smooth grits. Service is quick and doesn't take long for the food to be served. The waitresses are on point. My only problem with the place is the ventilation system. Expect to smell like grilled food when you leave the shop. However, I order my food by pick up most of the time and never have problem.

First time in for me. Service was fast and efficient. They had my pancake on the griddle before I even finished ordering. 2 minutes later my whole order was on the table. Everything was fresh and tasty. 2 easy eggs, potatoes, sausage, toast, a pancake, an orange juice, Plus a Pepsi and a large coffee to go was under $25. Plus a small TIP cuz I'm poor. The staff/owner(s)? Were friendly and on point. I'll be back, check this place out.
Been living in Albany for the last 20+ yrs. Food & service has always been top notch. You want a great b'fast, by all means go to South Pearl Coffee Shop. Period....
Breakfast food quality always great. Been going there 10+ years. Locals from shelters hanging out in front affect the drive up business.
4 stars for atmosphere only because this place hasn't changed AT ALL in 20 years, but that's not a complaint.... To me, it means they're about the food and that's it. The waitresses had smiles for everyone and there was nice conversation from nearly every person who walked thru the door. Food was great, got exactly what I wanted... Despite my desire to eat plain eggs toast and potatoes, it tasted exactly how I wanted it to.
I sat down and had the #4 waist with corn beef hash. The service was quick, kind and attentive. The food was no frills, and decent. I appreciated the grits being cooked well. The restaurant was a little beat up but neat and pretty clean. They only serve food in take out form which seemed a bit wasteful, but I would return.
Staff is super friendly. Its been a long time since I’ve eaten here. Unfortunately the food was sub par this time around. Ordered corn beef hash “hard/crunchy”, it as extremely soft. Also got the fish & grits-it was a frozen fish filet. Yuck.
I had an absolutely dreadful experience. My fish taste as if was fried in old cross contaminated oil. As a result I later spent the day throwing up. My potatoes were under seasoned and looked like mashed fried potatoes. Eggs had little to no seasoning. The best thing about my meal was the Coffee. Severely disappointed and a waste of 20.00. Also their grub hub delivery system is dreadful.
