I went here to celebrate my 35th birthday with a few of my closest ladies & favorite littles. Coming here for dinner was the cherry on top to an amazing birthday! 🥰🥳 The service, food, and drinks 🍹 are amazing. I had the classic maragrita, it was delicious and refreshing. I also had the guacamole with chips, which was also delicious. The short rib tacos are BOMB! I also tried one shrimp taco which was also BOMB! The yellow rice with black beans, delicious! The churros hit the spot, a must try! Everyone I was with also spoke very highly of their meals and drinks. Bar San Miguel is the perfect place to enjoy a good time and good conversation with the special people in your life! Thank you Bar San Miguel family for contributing to an amazing birthday! This restaurant was absolutely incredible. It started when our waiter, Edison, from Ecuador greeted us and we had a very nice conversation with him, about his life, family and time in NYC. We started with Guacamole and chips. It was absolutely yummy. When our daughter arrived, we all ordered Shrimp tacos, which were delicious. Edison introduced me to the owner, Petru, from Moldavia, as I am a Google map contributer. What a very nice man, he came to our table and we talked for about 45 minutes. As a result, we were given free churros, so tasty, free shots(mine non-alcoholic) and my husband and daughter, free Drinks ,called Palomas. This Bar/restaurant is the foremost tequila/mescal place in Brooklyn! The bartender, Uriel was a really sweet man, also. This beautiful place will be one of our places to visit, when we are in Brooklyn! The later postings are from the exquisitely beautiful garden patio. Absolutely charming. A perfect place to have a birthday or work party. There is seating for around 20 and standing room for thirty!

I stopped for brunch. The place felt cozy right away as the staff gives a warm welcome at this restaurant with a very strong atmosphere. The food was great, the empanada dough crispy and the meat inside juicy. The filled chili likewise had a nice fried crisp exterior and a veggie loaded inside. The short rib tacos were juicy and tender, on the smaller side, but still filling with a side of yucca fries. A great neighborhood finding. I'm looking forward to trying more things, and their dessert. It's gotten really popular lately, so get ready for a noisy space and I recommend making a reservation.

This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn!! The food, service and cocktails are just impeccable. I had the short rib tacos last time I was here and they were tender and perfectly seasoned. Another must have is the flan… just perfect! I’ve been coming here for about a year now and this place never ceases to amaze me. They are always consistent with the food as well as the warm and attentive service. If you’re looking for a game-changing drink, order the mezcal verde! Devine!!!

Everything was good. Everything was filled with flavor. The service was great at the bar. The ambiance makes you feel like you can sit there all night. If you sit in the front of the restaurant near the entrance it can be loud b/c it’s New York City. I also had a quesadilla which was so good I started eating it before I took a photo. 10/10 would highly HIGHLY recommend!

This place has the best vibe and the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! I had one of the most inventive tequila cocktails I’ve ever had! What a great addition to the neighborhood, I will be coming back again and again. I have a feeling this will become a new go-to for me! The staff was also incredibly friendly and added to the atmosphere in a major way. Such a cozy awesome spot!

About 6 months or so ago, friends of mine told me that Bar San Miguel had switched owners and improved immeasurably. We made a plan to go and try the revised menu and drink offerings and I wasn’t disappointed! Within 10 seconds of walking through the door we were greeted by a smiling young guy in glasses that welcomed us warmly and took us to a cozy table in the backyard. It’s adorable!! We were given menus, brought water and asked our waiter for a few minutes to decide. Our outing was celebratory in nature so we all had a margarita to start. DAMN, These things are GOOD!!! Not too sweet with a nice balance of tequila to fresh lime juice, YUM. We made up or minds on individual dishes and called our waiter over. In the meantime before our mains we grabbed some Chips & Guacamole which comes in mild or spicy. We chose spicy and we were all very happy. The table ordered: Yuca Fries, Fish Tacos, Steak Quesadillas, Short Rib Tacos and A Caesar Salad. The food started coming out of the kitchen pretty quickly and we all gazed at one another’s dishes hoping that the food would be as good the margaritas were. WOW!! You know how you can always tell when people like what they’ve ordered?? The conversation comes to a stand still. We were taking bites of each other’s mains by passing our plates clockwise and it wasn’t long until we had devoured it all. The Yuca Fries were gone in seconds! The Fish Tacos were lightly fried and topped with pickled onions, chipotle mayo and greens. The Steak in the Quesadilla was grilled and had onion with Pecorino Cheese. The Short Ribs in the Tacos were braised perfectly and served with the braising liquid. The Caesar came with Grilled Chicken, Crispy Tortilla Strips, Avocado and Radish and balanced nicely with the Caesar Dressing. We ALL decided to order another drink and happily found that the second was just as good and consistent as the first. We all left there SO happy! It was a GREAT birthday indeed. Hands down Bar San Miguel has improved unequivocally. I’m not sure who the new owner is but they along with the professional and welcoming staff, made a lasting impression on our group that evening. This is 1 of my new spots and I couldn’t be happier. Cheers 🍾 to a job well done!

Bar San Miguel — legend has it that it’s owned by Jim Cramer from Mad Money. I’ve been there countless times but have never actually run into him :) What keeps me coming back are the great margaritas and tacos. The food is solid, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s a perfect spot whether you’re out with friends or on a date. It’s definitely not a flashy place — blink and you might miss it — but that’s part of its charm. The garden is also lovely, and the whole place really comes alive in the spring and summer. A low-key neighborhood favorite with reliably good vibes.

The bartender knew what he was doing the drinks, did not skimp on the tequila, those drinks were strong. Had 2 of the El Picante and definitely was well worth the price. The beef empanadas were 10/10. Tacos were okay. Quesadilla was very good. The server didn’t seem like she wanted to be there, but hey we all have bad days. The frozen margaritas were also great. The pomegranate was not my favorite, pretty though.

We were looking to come here for a while and made reservations last minute on a weekend evening. The interior is nice and the staff was very friendly. The food was good but nothing really stood out much. Prices are a bit steep for the portion sizes given but that’s expected. Would recommend for small plates and drinks.

I had a very good experience at Bar San Miguel. The drinks were pretty tasty and I went for the tequila. The enchiladas were good but not exceptional. The bar design is welcoming and I found the lighting to be pretty cool. I would say this is a better place to get a drink or two than the food. Staff were friendly which was welcoming.

Lame Laundry

Have been to BSM often, and today was horrible. The service from the young woman was cold and rude and the food was not only really small for the price, but also made me sick afterwards. It was supposed to be huevos rancheros but was actually just a chalupa with eggs covered in hot sauce and a small smear of beans. Something was not fresh within it as well or someone is not being clean with food prep. They are moving away from true Mexican food and culture and embracing NYC hit or miss restaurant sharks.
