Opinions de Indian Table Albee Square
Such a cute and simple restaurant with an authentic Indian menu. Kudos to our servers for their amazing service. Specials thanks to chef for his warm hospitality. A must for all Indian food lovers.
Not just one of the best Indian restaurants in the city - one of the best Indian restaurants in the country. Amazing Goan food with super unique flavor combinations that you simply will not find anywhere else. Super friendly, great service. Perfect, flexible ambiance - great for a date, dinner with friends, or takeout. A true gem.
I adore Indian Table! Not only do they have the absolute sweetest staff, the food is to die for. As a chef myself, I appreciate that (while they still make the run-of-the-mill, ‘Americanized’ Indian food) they have real Goan dishes. The flavors are complex, diverse, and absolutely delicious- and authentic. And, with members of staff from the region, you can tell how lovingly dishes are prepared and how proud they are to share them. This is an absolute must-go-to!!
A very neighborhood-driven restaurant serving amazing, authentic Goan-style food. The manager was super cool and truly elevated the experience by sharing details about each dish and local Goan culture. Loved the cocktails especially the feni drinks and the food was absolutely chef’s kiss. ✨
The Railway Mutton curry was outstanding. As far as I tell that isn't particularly Goan. It belongs more in the AngloIndian table. I am not complaining though. It was a very pleasant surprise. The fish curry ( Konkan + Portuguese ) was also very enjoyable.. and the spinach soup.. and the slightly tangy cauliflower fritters. All good. Going back again.
the service is impeccable here. the owner(?) or manager is so passionate about what he’s doing and it shows. the staff are so professional and courteous; there is no rushing you and the pacing is great. to us, the soups were the standout dishes of the night. we have the veggie soup and the prawn soup- and even took an order of soup home to my father-in-law who said it was one of the best soups he has ever had, and he’s almost 90– that’s a lot of soup. we found the dishes seasoned perfectly and on the spicy side. only thing we didn’t love was a crispy puffy rice appetizer thing because it was cold and sweet, which we weren’t expecting. the samosas were some of the best we’ve ever had and we loved the coconut chicken curry. all dishes are served beautifully and it’s obvious how much thought and care goes into everything here. we highly recommend it and we will be back.
It was my wife's birthday, and I asked her what she wanted to do for dinner. Without missing a beat, she said Indian Table... Same as last year. We did not regret it. I can't speak to the authenticity of the food, but I believe it's the real deal. I can however speak to it's deliciousness. Indian Table is our family favorite for good reason!
Very delicious dishes and authentic Indian flavors. My favorites were the Classic Butter Chicken, Paneer Kundan Kalia, and Kalchi Kodi (fish curry). Interior decor was very pretty and service was friendly; they have a lot of indoor & outdoor seating which was delightful. Great place to bring family & friends visiting in Cobble Hill. Will be back !! Rankings: Mango Lassi: 10 / 10 (best choice) Eric’s Ginger Pinapple juice: 9 / 10 Croquetas De Bacalhao: 9 / 10 Classic butter chicken: 10 / 10 Xacuti De Galinha: 8 / 10 Paneer Kundan Kalia: 10 / 10 Kalchi Kodi: 10 / 10 Garlic naan: 10 / 10 (must order) Arroz Pulao: 8 / 10 (loved the flavor and spice blends but would skip next time bc the entrees come with classic basmati rice each)
Such a great spot! The menu offers delicious Indian Cuisine with Portuguese influence. All the food we had beautifully balanced flavors. For appetizers, we tried the Lasuni Gobi (Tangy & crispy Cauliflower) & Croquetas De Balcalhao (Creamy Cod Fish Croquettes). Both were outstanding! For dinner, the Garlic Naan was so tasty & arrived fresh from the oven. Tandoori Fish was good with unique spicy seasoning. Alambe Xacuti was an exceptional dish that we all loved! Next time, I plan to add chicken to this dish (which pairs so nicely). The Saag Paneer was by far our favorite & should be a main course item. The atmosphere was very relaxing with thoughtful ambience & decor. The seating was well spaced out & comfortable. The staff were kind, welcoming & detail-oriented. Happy to add this local spot to our favorites list!
I still remember the first time I came here. It was freezing outside, so I chose a place nearby. It feels like the Leaky Cauldron from Harry Potter—dimly lit, tucked in a basement. The menu has no pictures, and I was absolutely starving. The experience was amazing, and I loved every moment of it. The owner is incredibly energetic and kind—so full of life. I truly appreciate his introduction of the dishes. This is my favorite Indian restaurant, even more than the ones my Indian friends recommended to me. Then I came here very often. They serve warm plates, which is such a thoughtful detail! The atmosphere is also perfect—most Indian restaurants don’t have this kind of vibe. Everything here is worth trying. Every time we visit, we try something different, and we’ve never been disappointed. As a Chinese person, I never expected to love Indian food this much.
Amazing food, great drinks, I loved the goat biryani and fish curry. Everything was so good, and you know the owner really cared about the food he serves. I don't know how to say this, the owner was sharing about the dishes to us multiple times throughout the meal in a way that was WANTED! I'd want to try some dessert and the chai next time. Thank you, sir! 🫡
We stopped by this restaurant for lunch, and it turned out to be quite a gem. Unlike the usual Indian restaurants you find across the city, this one specializes in Goan cuisine — a unique blend of Indian (Konkani) and Portuguese culinary traditions shaped by Goa’s colonial past. The menu reflects that heritage beautifully, offering dishes that are bold, aromatic, and full of personality. We began with a couple of appetizers. The first was Batatayachi, a spicy potato tikki (or aloo chaat) topped with tangy yogurt, chutneys, sev, and spices. It was flavorful, vibrant, and felt like authentic Indian street food — definitely a great start. To pair with our food, we ordered two house-made drinks. I tried a ginger beer with fresh mango purée, which was absolutely refreshing — the mango was clearly fresh, not from concentrate, and the ginger beer added a nice kick. My friend ordered a pineapple and ginger cooler, which was equally bright and summery. Both were outstanding and prepared with real, quality ingredients. Our second appetizer was Goan sausage curry with potatoes, made from their own house-cured sausage. The dish was rich, tangy, and spiced with a hint of vinegar, giving it that signature Goan flavor. The freshly baked buns that came with it were perfect for soaking up the sauce. For our main courses, we tried two dishes. The first was a char-grilled pork dish that they flambéed tableside — a fun little spectacle and quite tasty, though the meat was slightly on the firmer side. The flavor, however, was excellent. The second dish was chicken Xacuti, a Goan specialty made with roasted coconut, fennel, star anise, and a complex mix of spices. It came with rice, and the portion was generous — we couldn’t even finish it and took some home. To end on a sweet note, we ordered pastel de nata, the classic Portuguese custard tart. It was creamy, delicately sweet, and perfectly baked — a wonderful finish to the meal. Overall, everything we tried was delicious and refreshingly different from the typical butter chicken or tikka masala fare. The drinks were exceptional, the appetizers inventive, and the mains full of flavor. I’ve never been to Goa myself, but this meal felt like a window into that coastal cuisine. If you’re looking to explore authentic Goan–Portuguese flavors beyond the usual Indian dining experience, I’d highly recommend this place.
Very authentic and painstakingly prepared Goan and Indian curries. Presentation was novel, e.g., the railway mutton curry in a stainless steel tiffin carrier as per tradition. We had to wait over 90 minutes for our food after ordering which was excessive. They could at least have warned us about this delay. Maybe the menu has to be simplified so as to improve the turnaround time. Else everything else was excellent.
Overall rating: 4.4 Price: $68 w/ tax & tip Uhm, I’m not sure what I was expecting when I went. I know it has a lot of high reviews, but struggling with the service. I think once they realized I was solo & not going to order that much, my waiter never came back. I ended up having to make eye contact with a few people to get questions answered. Items I got: - Mango lassi $7: 4/5 - this is good - Samosas $9 4.5/5 - this is good but I wish they had mint sauce - Cafreal de Frango: $26, 3/5 - the description of this dish reads “Roasted chicken marinated with white Portuguese chili, garlic, cilantro, caramelized onion, and potato wedges.”, so when I ask the waiter if there’s curry you can see why I was confused when I saw no curry and the potatoes were stale chips - Aloo Gobi mutter side: $12 4/5 - I was missing the curry and potatoes from the above dish, I ordered this last minute to go. I asked if it has curry and they said yes, but it didn’t. It was more mixed veggies. I did get my potatoes though & it was good. Doubt I will come back again. Not for me.
I tried their famous Goan fish curry and, it wasn’t that great. We ordered a few other items as well, but nothing really stood out. Given that it’s listed as “Michelin recommended” or something on Google, I found that hard to believe. The food didn’t justify the prices, and overall it felt expensive for the quality.
