10/10 Amazing and authentic food, with great portions, far better than all the other Indian restaurants I have tried in Liverpool. It was our second time here and absolutely loved it. We were served by Ashwath, excellent experience. They even got me a free birthday brownie so we could celebrate. We will surely be back sooon.
Amazing food, if you’re on a cruise and you pull into Liverpool, find this place and eat there. It’s a short walk to the dock and worth every step. Original and meticulously prepared food served in ways I haven’t seen before. A definite must do if you enjoy Indian food at all! The service was perfect, and the price extremely reasonable. Beautiful ambience, great views, and a varied menu make this a place I will stop at every time I come to Liverpool.
Had a great night here last night. Food was unreal, flavours are out of this world. Shout out to the server last night who’s name I didn’t catch but was working upstairs and had an Irish accent, he was brilliant and couldn’t do enough for us and was also a good laugh.
Stumbled across this little gem on a Sunday afternoon whilst our son was involved in a dance convention we literally had a couple of hours to kill and didn't want to go to far so this was a perfect location. It smelt amazing as we were passing and we love a good Indian so we just walked in they gave us a table for 2 on the spot. The view from our table would have been amazing but unfortunately there was building work going so boards were up in front of the window but this was not the restaurants fault at all it's a shame and hope it's not going to be too long for long for them. The restaurant itself was lovely the modern deco and different choice of menu. Having dietary needs wasn't a problem they have a menu for gluten free but also adapted and advised on the dairy side too which was good. We both decided to go for totally different dishes that we don't see on our local menus.. The tandoori butter chicken pizza/nan was amazing full of flavour 😋 and the champara meat curry extra spicy with lentil and rasin rice was also good. We will definitely return on our next visit to Liverpool
Didn't expect much, an Indian in a row of restaurants in a bit of a tourist trap, but wow, the food was sensational, so fresh, so flavoursome, just delicious. Great service and recommendations from Aswath too.
It’s a wonderful place to enjoy Indian food. I tried the Champaran meat and Malabar paratha, and both were absolutely delicious. Mr. Ashwath was kind enough to assist us with everything we needed and was a very gracious host.
Terrific restaurant , lovely location right on Albert Dock. Great ambience and excellent food. We had the typical North Indian fare, everything tasted great. Wish we could visit again.....:) Perhaps one day.
YOU CAN’T MISS THIS PLACE! The most beautiful authentic food, haven’t tasted a curry this delicious since being in India. What a gorgeous team also, so friendly and really took the time to go through the menus with us. Please open a store in LONDON!! Thank you for such a wonderful evening xx
Lovely dinner tonight. Great selection and very tasty Indian food. Nice friendly staff. Would certainly return when next in the area.
Music was very fun and made you wanna dance as you enjoyed your amazing food!! Would highly recommend the lamb! Melts in your mouth and the garlic naan is to DIE for! Great service
Amazing food, great atmosphere and the service was brilliant. Sudheer the host was so good. A great experience.
We came here hungry after a full day of walking around Liverpool and admiring its beautiful landmarks. We were warmly welcomed at the door by a lovely lady who also took care of us throughout our visit. The delicious food was served quickly and beautifully presented on elegant tableware. As we began to enjoy the meal, we realised it was quite spicy for our taste. The lady kindly suggested and brought us some chilled yogurt, which really helped and complemented the flavours perfectly. The restaurant is very clean and cosy, with a beautiful view of the Royal Albert Dock. The food was absolutely delicious. A special thank you to the lady who served us — you made our experience even better. You learn something new every day, and we’re glad we tried something different. This place is definitely worth a visit if you want to experience real Indian food! 😊
A warm, welcoming space with beautiful interiors and a truly family-friendly vibe. The service was outstanding; attentive, kind, and professional throughout. Every detail, from presentation to hospitality, reflects care and quality. A lovely spot for anyone looking for a refined yet relaxed Indian dining experience.❤️
Undoubtedly one of the best Indian you can have, if you are near Albert Dock. The flavours are authentic (I’m an Indian, you can trust me). If you don’t like spicy curry - go for Kerala Lamb Stu. If you prefer bread, try Malabar Paratha. If you are sweet tooth - please don’t miss Gajar (Carrot) Halwa and Chocolate Brownie (very different taste and don’t ignore thinking it’s the same brownie) with Ice cream.
Great place for friends of Indian cuisine, nice atmosphere and reasonable price. Comes highly recommended!
Portions are deceptively large! I couldn’t finish and needed to take some away. Love the bag with the stamped logo. Waiter was amazing - fully cleared the table after the starter. Waitress poured the chai very impressively and it was real chai! (Not a ‘chai’ tea bag’ I’m always a bit skeptical about ‘modern Indian’ food but this place does it very well.
Without doubt one of the best indian meals we have had. Good choice of dishes. You could taste the different spices in each dish. Great views of the Albert Dock. Superb service Thank You.
The food was absolutely delicious! The samosas were incredible, so tasty and full of flavor and the sauces that came with them were just perfect. We also had a chicken main (can’t remember the exact name), but it was so enjoyable, especially paired with a nice bottle of Merlot. Our food was delivered by Ashwat, such a lovely gentleman with a big smile!! it made the experience even better. Definitely a great place to enjoy a delicious meal!
Learned about this place from scrolling social media ahead of visiting Liverpool for the weekend and I think you'll struggle to find better. The Albert Dock is of course a great location and made even better by the food and service. It is a relaxed and modern take on Indian cuisine in a superb atmosphere, plus Aswath made the evening memorable and took time to chat with everyone and really made the difference. Heartily recommended.
Absolutely amazing food!! We loved this place! The vegetarian food was so tasty. The service we got from Aswaith our waiter was perfect. He was so professional and it was some of the best service we’ve had. I will definitely visit again.
We visited on Thursday evening and were warmly welcomed by a wonderful gentleman who shared all the details about the dishes with an explanation. Once we stepped inside, a lovely lady took our order, and from that point on, Charlotte took care of us, making sure we felt special with her excellent service. The food was amazing! I tried the Purple Sweet Potato starter, which was delightful, and the Old Delhi Lamb Nahari served with lentil and raisin rice. My husband went for the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and the Not Your Nani Lamb Biryani. Everything was just so tasty! Thank you for giving us a delicious and friendly night out.
Great Indian restaurant down at the dock. Great evening spent at The Delhi House. Excellent food. Lovely atmosphere. Brilliant staff. Highly recommend giving it a try.
The curry was great. Staff were fabulous. The only thing that we didn’t like is that, all our Nun breads were burnt. When we complained about it, they changed the nun breads. The changed ones were better. Location wise, its amazing. About food - very good.
Great breakfast, first day today doing breakfasts in this restaurant! I had the chicken seekh naanwich & my husband had the keema pav which both were delicious & highly recommend!! Great service & will definitely be returning to this family run restaurant at the Albert Dock Thank you
We had a lovely meal here - the black lentil dhal for myself (recommended by our waiter) and the prawn curry for my husband. Food very tasty, service very attentive and friendly and they were accommodating of us having our small baby and pram with us. Would definitely return!
New gem in the albert dock amazing Indian food all i can say, ordered Butter Chicken, Keema Mutton Tacos and Vegetable Samosa Chaat, for desert we go a Gulab Jamun sundae. The cocktails were amazing got the berrylicious, only downside was we shared the desert and were only given one Gulab Ball, other than that would highly recommend service was great too, gorgeous of a night.
Excellent service, food very very good in a relaxed environment. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for!
I truly didn't expect to find such authentic and delicious Indian food at Liverpool. I can wholeheartedly recommend this one!
Had the lamb biryani last Friday and I highly recommend, unique that it was served with 1 bowl of lamb with the rice, 1 bowl of the sauce and 1 bowl of the yogurt, had some “bite” to it and it was a generous serving. Added bonus personally was that they provided me with a specific gluten free menu, being coeliac that was essential.
Probably the best curry I have had in all the years of eating curries in various parts of the world. The flavours and spices were amazing. The modern take on a curry works brilliantly, and helps create a unique taste experience. The staff are all family, and were delightful, friendly, and helpful. I highly recommend Delhi House in the highest degree!
I was recently in Liverpool with my wife for a work conference and a colleague recommended this restaurant for dinner. The place was really cool with a really large foliage wall that quite unique. Our waiter, I think his name was Dale? Was really good and explained the dishes to us as we weren’t very familiar with this type of cuisine. He recommended the dai poor which we shared and was super intense and fresh. My wife had the butter chicken which she said had a really tasty sweet sauce. I had the lamb itsu which is one of the nicest lamb dishes I’ve ever had. Went perfectly with a cold pint of their house lager. We will definitely be back again next time we’re in Liverpool. 9/10
Just been for a meal with 5 of my family to the Delhi house in Albert Dock. It's was lovely. We were there for 6pm and the place was quite quiet. We sat at the round table. The place soon filled up and the atmosphere was good. Food was great and the lady who looked after our table was smiley and polite and courteous . All round nice experience. Well done !! Brian
The food is outstanding. Ask for Diksha, she is an absolutely great host with deep insight into the flavour profile of each dish at the restaurant and will guide you according to your palate. Great place, great vibe. The star is the food 🌟 Much much recommended
The food was genuinely lovely. Everything we ordered tasted great, and a special thanks to Diksha for such warm hospitality. We really enjoyed the experience and would love to come back again. 😋💯
The place was extremely warm and cozy. Food was equally delicious! We were served by Diksha who was very polite and suggested some good food. Would definitely recommend going here if I’m craving Indian food.
Here’s a shorter, crisp review with a mention of Diksha: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Loved the vibe at Delhi House Cafe! Great food, cozy ambience, and excellent service. A special shoutout to our server Diksha, she was super polite, attentive, and made our experience even better.
I recently dined at this wonderful Indian restaurant and was impressed by the delicious food, excellent selection, and great choices. The staff, particularly Aswath, were super friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was lovely, making for a fantastic dining experience.
I stumbled upon this Restaurant situated within Royal Albert Docks. A wonderful location coupled with a different but nevertheless superb meals. It take a long to be served compared to other guests but maybe it was our choice of meal
Delhi House at Albert Dock, is an absolute gem. The food is genuinely amazing rich in flavour, perfectly cooked, and tastes just like authentic Indian cuisine done right. Every dish was delicious and clearly made with care. What truly takes the experience to another level is the service, unbelievably warm, attentive, and welcoming. A special shoutout to Diksha, who was absolutely amazing and made the whole visit even more memorable with her kindness and professionalism. Great food, incredible service, and a fantastic atmosphere — highly recommended and definitely worth coming back again! 🌟🍽️
We dined here twice — once for lunch and again for dinner — and had a pleasant experience both times. The vibe is nice and relaxed, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good overall. The Mumbai Tava Pulao was quite spicy and flavorful, while the Moradabadi Chicken Biryani was decent and satisfying. Nothing overly fancy, but solid comfort food. Overall, a good spot to dine with family or friends if you’re looking for a casual Indian meal in Liverpool.
We came here for our Christmas Eve dinner, the service was perfect from top to bottom, frequent checking on our mood, great effort put into our experience and I have to credit it to our wonderful server Diksha, having conversations with her and hearing her passion for the food and her country was great. While some of the dishes were a little dialled down in terms of authenticity, the flavour was great and there was very little to complain about. Amazing atmosphere, a beautiful restaurant and a very pleasant experience throughout. Biryani was great, the Palak Chaat was an underrated star of the show, the tikki masala fish was fresh and light, and nilgiri prawns were to die for. Would recommend.
Delhi House Located at the scenic Liverpool Docks, this Indian restaurant offers a vibrant atmosphere with a diverse menu featuring plenty of options. While the food was decent, it lacked the depth of authentic Indian flavors we were hoping for. The prices felt a bit steep compared to other similar restaurants in the area. That said, the service truly stood out—special thanks to Diksha, who was a wonderful host, making our evening enjoyable. She even arranged a lovely birthday surprise for my friend, which was a sweet touch! Cheers to her for the warm hospitality. Overall, a good dining experience with room for improvement in authenticity and pricing, but the excellent service makes it worth a visit. Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
All the waiters were really nice and friendly, and the venue itself is a great spot for a meal by the dock. However, we had to wait over 30 minutes for our main dish after finishing our starter. I understand that my partner’s dish takes time to prepare, but it had already been quite a while since we ordered, and we weren’t informed it would take that long. This made the slow kitchen service a bit disappointing. The food tasted good, though it leaned more towards British Indian cuisine rather than authentic Indian dishes.
We went to Delhi House Liverpool on the new year day. This place really is an Indo-western union of flavors. We had chicken malai tikka and although portions were less for the price the taste was homely. Butter chicken was delicious although the naans were a little on burnt side. The drinks have unique names and we were really impressed by them. But the best part was dessert. We ordered gulab jamun with ice cream and it was so beautifully served plus the gulab jamuns were really hot and spongy. It's a must try.
I’m not the biggest fan of Indian food and this restaurant probably wouldn’t have been my first choice. However, being with family and the majority happy, for ease we decided to dine. The food, albeit not my favourite, I must admit was nicer than I expected and I finished the plate clean! Everyone else really enjoyed their food and thought it was all delicious. We had a few hiccups whilst there. However, this is to be expected for a new restaurant, that was FULL to the brim! The ‘issues’ we had were minor. But sorted perfectly without sweat from Reece who seemed to have a strong head and knew the place like the back of his hand. Great service from him. I would recommend, even for people not overly keen on Indian food. I’m sure there’s something basic (like I got), for you too!
Fairly average Indian cuisine. The starters were served in less than 10 minutes. One was cold and the other was undercooked. The chicken in the starter tasted like it had been defrosted and cooked again. Couldn't finish it. The mains were good. Curry sauces full of flavour and hot. Good sides, albeit slightly small. Not the best wine choices and the Malbec we did order wasn't great. Can't really fault the restaurant for that as we chose it. Overall, I think for the cost, I'd go somewhere like Mowgli or Sultans Palace instead.
I’ve been to Delhi house on a few occasions now and as much as I’d like to love it there’s just a few things I can’t get past. First of all the location and the decor is gorgeous, it’s so lovely to dine on the docks and as we were last there on NYE the atmosphere was alive. The menu is well thought out with a decent selection of pan-Indian dishes; some with an innovative twist; however balanced flavours were sorely lacking in some of the dishes we tried. The lamb naan ‘tacos’ were nice however as it’s only garnished with iceberg lettuce and some mint chutney, you’ll get better value from the normal keema and a naan. The curries were nice but pretty standard in my opinion especially for the price. The paneer dish we ordered had way more peppers and onions than anything (try and spot a piece of paneer in the picture). What put the nail in the coffin for me was the fish tikka. I’m normally not too critical of restaurants but It’s outrageous to pay £14 for a starter for there to be 2 measly cubes of cod on the plate that have nothing but the overpowering taste of mustard oil. Horrid in price, portion, and taste. If either some of the recipes could be tweaked slightly or the prices lowered this might be one of my favourite restaurants but as it stands it’s just a bit disappointing.
I came here for dinner solo. Had the moradabadi chicken biryani, chicken Tikka and apple juice. The chicken biryani barely had chicken in it and wasn't flavorful. I thought the chicken tikka was undercooked but the chef convinced me otherwise/ insisted I ate it that way 😑 The menu stated the apple juice was 3.75 or so but when my bill arrived it was charged at 5.95 and I was told it was a large cup (so why wasn't that stated in the menu?). Overall, the food wasn't great, the portions were small for the price and the difference between the price on the menu and what is charged seem dubious to me plus the service was very slow. I definitely won't recommend or visit again except I'm stranded.
HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED – The chat starter was delicious, very good indeed, but it was down hill from there, like jumping off a cliff downhill. The £13 Goan prawn curry was probably the worst curry I’ve had in memory. I am half Goan, half Sri Lankan, I know my curries, and there is not a molecule of Goan in that bowl of soupy thick gloop. My mother, may she RIP, would have laughed herself silly. I had to fish out the few prawns with a fork from a swamp, and the recommended lentil and raisin rice accompaniment was seriously under seasoned. The £10 Delhi Old Fashioned had a very pretty dried slice of orange balancing on the ice, no discernible whisky. The look of this place promises more than it actually delivers, and after this meal I was quite furious that they charge high end prices for such bland inconsequential dishes. The irony is the service was very good, two very personable waiting staff, but what a wait! And to deliver such appalling food to customers, late and luke-warm! What on earth is the ‘chef’ doing for such a long time producing such slop?! Highly NOT recommended.
We had the mom's butter chicken curry. Price was £13.95. We did not enjoy the meal the chicken was not tender and seems over cooked. The curry was like tommato soup and flavour was bland and not nice. We didn't expect a service charge either. For the quality of the food and price we paid we expected better. Would not go back here ever.
