Glorious. Best starter I've ever had. (I got the duck salad which is out of my comfort zone.) Everything else was sublime. Quite expensive but 100% worth it for a special occasion. Three courses + 2 cocktails each for two people came to around £170 - but the cocktails were probably around £40 of that. A beautiful room with lots of greenery. Great service, a place for coats, reasonably quick service - we went on Valentine's day. Would love another excuse to go again.

Beautiful restaurant, amazing decor, even the toilets are out of this world. The food was great too. Friendly and efficient service. The DJ was very good, I love the chilled tunes.

This used to be the Bank of England building on Castle Street. They've done a superb renovation of the building, a lot of thought has been especially been put into the interior design and layout and it's all very impressive. The service was excellent and the staff were very attentive. We booked for lunch and picked a two course meal from the Heritage menu. Service was fairly quick and I was quite amazed when the food arrived at the table they knew who had ordered each individual meal at the table without asking anyone. I had the calamari for starters and Minute steak for mains. I would recommend both dishes. Prices were very reasonable from the Heritage menu but there was the option of the normal menu. It's well worth a visit as there's no other restaurant in the city quite like it.

6 of us went for lunch and had the 1917 Heritage Menu. We had quite a few different choices and then desserts and everyone agreed the food was delicious. Service was excellent and the decor and ambience of the restaurant is fabulous. As we sat down, we were asked if we were celebrating anything and we said it was my sister's birthday. At the end of the meal, the waitress brought a cake with a candle in it. All in all absolutely fantastic and can't wait to go back.

Came here for breakfast while visiting Liverpool. Firstly, it’s such a beautiful setting for dining, very warm, welcoming and wonderfully decorated. The services was outstanding, so professional and really felt we were being taken care of by friendly smiling staff. The breakfast was delicious, tea arrived hot and Prosecco poured ice cold by the lovely waiter, and the topped up promptly by the waitress. Would highly recommend this venue if visiting Liverpool, added bonus, it was really reasonably priced. Well done The Ivy 💗

Everything about this experience was amazing, from the attentiveness from our waiter Nick, the lovely atmosphere, and to the amazing food. The Ivy went above and beyond making this dinner special. Definitely a must go to restaurant in Liverpool!

Had my birthday dinner here and it was beautiful. To my surprise it wasn’t a mellow or drab atmosphere, the atmosphere was quite lively, good music but not too loud. Food and drinks came out quite fast, food was average for the price. I did enjoy my steak. They presented a small desert with a candle for me so that was really cute. AND the bathroomssss were divine! A photoshoot spot to say the least.

Food was delicious! Atmosphere and decor was incredible and service was top. We got a seat on a Friday evening without booking and it was very busy. Staff were very attentive. Toilets are so cool. Could spend a whole evening here going from one room to another and enjoying the experience. On the more expensive side but worth it. They had a DJ on which also added to the experience. Was a little cold without my coat so would suggest a cardigan.

Chose the experience menu. It was a birthday treat and I'm glad we made the tril. Food was beautiful, fabulously presented, and the dessert was out of this world. Shout outs also to the sashimi and the miso cod, but couldn't fault any of the dishes we tried. 100% will be back again. Service was fantastic too. We were sat right by the DJ but to be honest he was very unobtrusive and the music did not impede our conversation. Beautiful venue, lovely staff, top notch dining experience 👌

Excellent food and drink with great service by Brooke and Niall. Enjoyed the 1917 fixed menu and dessert too. Great building and decor feeling like having a lazy lunch in a garden. Will definitely return. Gluten free options available but restricted.

Can’t wait to come back again and again! To say that the staff are unbelievably kind and so helpful is an understatement. The selection of food and drinks is great and it almost feels like you’re in a film because of the scenery and surroundings. I’ve definitely recommend going as a group so you can try other people’s food as I was getting very jealous haha.

An Unforgettable Dining Experience at The Ivy in Liverpool! Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at The Ivy in Liverpool, and it was truly spectacular. This venue is housed in a phenomenal Grade II listed former Bank of England building, and the interior conversion and decoration are simply stunning – honestly among the best we’ve seen anywhere in the UK. The food was equally impressive: delicious, beautifully presented, with generous portions, and reasonably priced for the quality. The menu is excellent, offering a wide array of delicious options, complemented by a great selection of local beers and spirits. The staff were incredibly attentive, friendly, and provided top-notch service throughout the evening. The atmosphere was buzzing and exciting, making for an overall excellent experience that is second to none. Having visited other Ivy locations, we all agreed that Liverpool does it better than anywhere else. We will absolutely be regular visitors and highly recommend The Ivy in Liverpool!

Came here for a work lunch and the food was really good. The setting was probably the best part of the visit, and I loved the teapots that came with the tea. My sirloin was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was a bit inattentive at times, but nothing that bothered us too much.

L

The food was lovely, staff were very friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was great. The Ivy has a wonderful unique stylish decor that makes it feel like a very special occasion when you dine in there. We really enjoyed the experience.

Wow What an amazing restaurant 😍 It was My wife's birthday and we had a lovely meal. Decor was fantastic, service was 10/10 and as it was Sunday we had a 50% discount on our wine... result 👏 deffo come back here

Went along had a received a gift voucher and it was soon to expire. Had generally heard positive things from others but still expected it to be style over substance. I’m delighted to say I was wrong, the food was delicious! Duck and steak tartare starters followed by chicken and scallop and prawn linguine mains finishing off with the chocolate bomb and rum baba desserts it was all superb and packed full of flavour. Drinks were on the expensive side but that seems to be standard these days and they all tasted great and were served perfectly. Service was a little slow at first and perhaps a little offering of bread and butter or olives would be a nice touch particularly when it’s very busy but all of the staff were very warm and not in any way overbearing. Will return and would recommend.

The Fabulous Ivy Liverpool did not disappoint, from arrival where our heavy winter coats were placed in the safe cloakroom, to have the most amazing pre lunch cocktail 🍸 the champagne mojito did not disappoint. Service was amazing. We opted for the 2 x course lunch special. French onion soup to die for and aranccini balls were both delicious. As was the main course of fish cake served on pea puree (as pictured) The Atmospher was buzzing , the background music was soothing but upbeat. And the decor makes you feel like your in a 1930s dinning hall. We can't wait to return 😃

Lovely place to celebrate my big birthday. Great decor, excellent service and fabulous cocktails and steaks. A bit pricier than some restaurants but lovely all the same.

Came here for my husband and I's first wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint! This restaurant is absolutely stunning, beautiful architecture and interiors. All the dishes were perfectly done and presented, definitely a place to go for a celebration.

It’s absolutely beautiful in here and the staff can’t do enough for you. They are so lovely and attentive and it really feels like you are being looked after. I’ve had afternoon tea here and a meal. Both times the food has been amazing.

Wonderful experience at the Ivy Liverpool, food prices quite reasonable, the cost really comes from the drinks. 4 people 3 courses with cocktail and wine £450. For contrastvfish and chips £20 sirlion steak £38 Decor beautiful and staff very attentive. Overall marvelous experience

I only popped in for a coffee in the morning. I was so taken by the staff, 1 in particular called Amelia was fantastic, that I brought my wife back that even for a meal. We were both very impressed with the food, service and very reasonable prices.

This place is great, food, service, decor, everything! They have 2 restaurants in one place so I can only speak of the 1st floor European menu not the Asian fusion upstairs but the upstairs area is fabulous looking as well. Strongly suggest this place well worth it!

The most beautiful restaurant I could step foot in Liverpool. A little pricey but totally worth the visit. Good service, lovely friendly efficient staff who are calm, informative, helpful and understanding. The place is beautiful, clean and the food is amazing. would definitely try come back for special occasions.

Had such an amazing experience at The Ivy Liverpool Brasserie, thanks to our wonderful server Neve! She was so friendly and helpful from start to finish — recommending dishes, answering all our questions, and even surprising me with a complimentary “Happy Birthday” dessert when she found out it was my birthday. She went the extra mile by suggesting the best spot (the bathroom!) for photos and made sure my friends and I were looked after the entire time. Neve is truly amazing and made our visit so special.

First time at the new Ivy Asia, had the two course set menu for £20. Excellent value, food was fabulous and the overall experience was excellent. Special mention to Kieran who looked after our table brilliantly, a credit to the restaurant. And thank you to Chris for overseeing everything. We will definitely be back !

Treated my bridesmaid's for lunch after buying there bridesmaid's dresses. Fist time eating at this Ivy, I've been to several others around the country and I have to say from start to finish it was fantastic! Everything from food to the service was excellent! Compared to my last vist at an Ivy in Canterbury, where the service was terrible the waiter was very cold and and unwelcoming and got the drinks order wrong! So I really can't fault a thing at the Ivy in Liverpool! 😁😁😁

The Ivy Liverpool is truly one of my favourite places in the city. I love to surround myself with beauty and atmosphere — and this place has both. Every time I visit, the service is excellent, the food is consistently delicious, and the overall experience always feels special. From the interior to the little details — everything is thought through. 5 stars from me. Highly recommended!

I celebrated my birthday at The Ivy and had a lovely experience. The atmosphere was stylish and cozy, the staff were friendly and attentive, and most of the dishes were absolutely delicious. The first course — mozzarella with pesto — wasn’t quite to my taste, but everything else was excellent. When I ordered dessert, the staff surprised me with a birthday card, which was such a thoughtful and touching gesture. I’d definitely come back!

Went to The Ivy for breakfast and the whole experience was exquisite. The internal styling of the restaurant was breathtaking and the food and service was excellent. Couldn't fault a thing.

What a gorgeous restaurant/bar/brasserie. Stunning from the second you walk in. Amazing service from staff on the doors, staff taking coats and the waiters/waitresses. Probably one of the nicest meals I’ve had out in Liverpool. So tasty and fresh. We treated ourselves to some champagne which again was delicious. Staff are very attentive. I would recommend the chicken supreme and the fish & chips. They gave my sister in law a free desert as it was her birthday. Cannot wait to return!

I've been to numerous Ivy Restaurants around the country and I'm pleased to report that the new Liverpool Ivy matches up well to them 👍 The venue is excellent, not as big inside as I expected, but the tables are well spaced out and comfortable, and the decor is very 'plush'🙂. The atmosphere is good and has a cool relaxed feeling about it 👍 The Service is very good - the Waitress who served us was very friendly and polite, and very attentive 👍 The food is very good (as you'd expect 🙂). The Sour Dough Bread Starter is great to Share (and big) the Ivy Burger and the Fillet Steaks are delicious 😎 Price is a little on the higher side, but you get what you pay for 😉, so it IS worth it 👍

Wow wow wow. Ignore the negative reviews, make your own decision, I am glad we did. Food was really good, service was second to none. I felt like I was back on a celebrity cruise it was that good. The inside is absolutely stunning, I will be returning. Tip, buy a gift card on your way in for £100 and take your free bottle of champagne home with you 😉

Top class restaurant in Liverpool with a great atmosphere and service. Roasted scallops and sirloin steak was very good, but not top class. Peppercorn sauce too salty, but the fries was french class. Michelin none.

An amazing experience, previously dined at The Ivy Asia which was really enjoyable! We were very well looked after by all of the staff from waiters to managers, everyone went above and beyond. The food was incredible and cooked to perfection, every dish was amazing. The location and restaurant is beautiful and perfect for a special meal or occasion. I will be definitely returning here many more times.

After a wonderful day at 'The Liverpool Bake' we decided to pop into The Ivy for an early dinner, without a reservation, we where lucky to get a table as it was quite busy, very grateful. What a lovely space, i believe its an old used bank. Wonderfully laid out, decor spectacular, staff so friendly and welcoming, food amazing!! We started with a couple of seasonal cocktails which were fabulous. We then shared a few starters. I've never had a soufflè before so i had the twice baked cheese one, it melted in my mouth it was delightful. The cougettte fritti were salty and moorish and the salt and pepper squid was crispy, crunchy and seasoned to perfection. My main was the soy- glazed Blackend Cod, which was light, flavourful and the veggies where cooked to perfectly (crunchy!!) My sister had the Chicken Bourguignon, she said she'd never eaten anything like it and absolutely loved it. It was a wonderful experience and a grand day out. Highly recommend.

Our table was not ready as we were a little early and our party of 4 was escorted to the bar to enjoy a drink as waited. We were joined by our waiter Sean who escorted us to our table, Sean was brilliant throughout our very enjoyable evening he is a credit to the Ivy restraunt. The whole experience was brilliant, food fantastic and the atmosphere really good. Thank you

We visited The Ivy Liverpool on New Year’s Day after pre-booking our table, and it was our first time there – it definitely won’t be our last. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm smile and asked if we’d like our coats placed in the cloakroom, which was a lovely touch. Our waitress, Poppy, came straight over to introduce herself and she was absolutely brilliant – everything a waitress should be. She was attentive, friendly, observant and always on hand whenever we needed anything. Honestly, she was exceptional and made the experience even better. We also had the manager come over to clear our table and he was great as well – professional and welcoming. The food was absolute perfection: quick to arrive, piping hot, and not a single thing wrong with any dish. The atmosphere is beautiful, the restaurant is very clean, and even the toilets were spotless and lovely. Overall, an amazing experience from start to finish. 10/10 ⭐️

Nathan was amazing, gave me and my mum excellent recommendations, was incredibly kind, patient and simply lovely to be in the presence of. The food was excellent also, the sea bass in particular was fantastic (recommended by Nathan!) All of the staff were fabulous, Alex also was fab, it felt like a proper team effort to make your experience the best possible.

We walked past The Ivy after a day of shopping. We called into the reception on a Sunday afternoon around 3pm. The lovely female receptionist slotted us in 30 minutes later. Our coats and bags were stored securely on reception. George .W , one of the head waiters made the visit even more enjoyable. We enjoyed the Sunday roast- which was amazing value for money. My wife chose the vegetarian burger, Also very good. The whole restaurant was full and all the staff were completely on the ball . Excellent service throughout the stay. We'll be back, but we'll book online first :)

Me and my partner came on Friday afternoon for a meal . The food was out of this world. The staff were excellent especially the waitress that looked after us she was very friendly and excellent at her job 10 out of 10 for her service. Would definitely be back

Great place for lunch and a chat. Food was good and all were served as close as possible to each other. Good for a party of 10. Only downside for me was there was no choice of largers. They only stock their own which is only sold in bottles, but to my surprise this was quite nice. A good time was had by all and everybody enjoyed what they ordered. Would fully recommend going.

Celebrated a birthday here. Absolutely stunning decor. If you’re looking for a posh place with lovely food to splurge a little on, that won’t burn (too big) a hole in your pocket, this would be a nice experience to kickstart things. To celebrate the premiere of the Downtown Abbey movie, they launched a special menu too- which was what we ordered from. Food was generally lovely. Beef tartare and fig salad for appetiser. A big basket of zucchini fries for starter was great too (but we couldn’t finish it as it was just us 2), the fries were tasty but probably a little too thin stringy so not as crispy as I hoped. Main courses were lemon sole fish and braised duck curry. The fish was lovely. Duck curry was a little unusual but I thought why not try it. Didn’t really go well with basmati rice (jasmine rice would have been better I think). Quite a unique take on Asian curry flavour but I probably wouldn’t order this again. Not sure why duck curry is on the Downtown Abbey menu and the correlation but (what do I know:) Ended the evening with a lovely little complimentary dessert for the birthday, came with a candle which was a nice touch. Generally a wonderful dining experience because you get to dine in such a beautiful setting. (Remember to check out the powder room, it’s incredibly beautiful).

We love the cozy and welcoming environment here perfect for an afternoon meal with friends. Also, thank you to " Sian ", you did amazing job - excellent service , you made sure we had everything we needed. You deserve a raise, your great attitude that made our experience very pleasant. S. The Ivy is really something to look at. The decor is absolutely decadent, we were seated in the rainforest room, where even the ceilings are covered with what looked like gold leaf, floors were illuminated under some sort of agate slices. There are people posing and weirdly, acting for Instagram photo shoots everywhere you turn, including on the stairs and in the bathrooms making moving around a bit awkward and uncomfortable... The volume was very noisy, but we could talk. The food was nice enough, not as exceptional as the venue, but on the set menu was well worth the money. The set menus are about £35 for 3 courses, and a la carte was approx £15 a starter and £35 for a main. Service was very professional and fairly good, particularly our arrival and greeting felt really polished and special, table service a bit less so. A 12.5% discretionary service charge is added to the bill. On balance, we'd go again but will try the Asian section upstairs.

Our booking was for 2.15, we arrived at 2.05 was shown to the bar as our table wasn’t ready, waited until 2.40 then approached waitress who told us that we was down as a No Show, we then got sat at a table for 2.55 and was told we will get you a complimentary drink and bring some nibbles over they never arrived, when I asked the waitress she told me she didn’t know anything about it. Beautiful restaurant, Amazing food and wonderful atmosphere, I would still go back hence the slight delay.

The sweet potato curry was good. The service was lovely and welcoming, and the space itself is beautiful. The chocolate bomb dessert was alright, but the overall experience more than made up for it

K

We had a very friendly welcome here which was good and the decor and the room is quite impressive. The duck pâté was a great starter. The scallops were a bit disappointing, mainly just foam. The steak tartare was particularly poor and very disappointing, the meat could have been fresher, the flavours weren't mixed properly and they covered it in way too much parsley which I had to scrape off. The drinks were disappointing. We have recently been to the Cheltenham and Exeter branches, and aside from the warm welcome, I'm sorry but in every other way we thought those branches were better than this one.

P

Beautifully appointed restaurant, and convivial atmosphere. Be prepared to wait for everything though. To be fair it was busy, but getting shown to a table that was booked for 21.15 at 22.05 is a bit much. Starter eventually arrived fairly promptly, and were delicious. The steaks however, weren't as per our order and were sent back to the kitchen. Our meals finally were returned at 23.20 by which time we had lost our appetites.

First time ever attending the ivy in Liverpool, been to the Manchester one many times and never have issues. Food was lovely however service was not on the same standard, id booked the table weeks in advance for my birthday. Got to the restaurant and we were waiting almost an hour stood at the bar to be seated with no communication when we could see others that arrived later being seated… food took a while to come and so did paying the bill i had a booking elsewhere for after the restaurant therefore we had to rush to eat so we could make it in time for that booking. Our waiter ben was lovely bless him however the service overall was not a good experience for a birthday booking and seeing how we were treated so differently to other costumers makes me feel it was due to us being a big group of black girls. I hope this can be improved as its a lovely restaurant otherwise .

Amber Hollenbeck

We had a 9:15 reservation and started with drinks and the French onion soup. The drinks were good, although noticeably overpriced compared to other restaurants we’ve been to in the area. The French onion soup was excellent and, unfortunately, the only truly great dish we had that night. For our mains, I ordered the chicken Milanese and my husband ordered the ribeye with mashed potatoes. The chicken Milanese was just okay—it’s hard to mess up a chicken cutlet, and it was fine but nothing memorable. The ribeye, however, was honestly terrible. It tasted more like a very poor-quality sirloin you’d get at a diner or breakfast spot like Denny’s rather than a ribeye at a restaurant at this price point. Service timing was also a big issue. Our soup arrived around 9:30, but we didn’t receive our main dishes until about 10:30, which is an extremely long wait. The mashed potatoes were also very bland and had virtually no flavor—you had to drown them in gravy just to make them enjoyable. That said, our server was great. He was very kind, checked on the kitchen multiple times, kept us updated, and apologized for the long wait. The ambiance also wasn’t ideal for dinner. There was a DJ playing on Saturday night, and it was extremely loud—so loud that we could barely hear each other across the table. Overall, between the long wait, the disappointing food (especially the steak), and the very loud atmosphere, we unfortunately wouldn’t return.

I think the picture tells the story here, but I can add to it. This dish is clearly absolutely rubbish. A mush of what seems to be previously frozen veg - without any flavour. The staff were informed and the dish was refused. A replacement was refused by us. The staff member ignored me multiple times and spoke only to my partner. At the end of the meal the manager refused to take this uneaten and disgusting item off the bill. Avoid unless you want to sit in a noisy bar full of plastic plants, plastic people, and be served rubbish, with staff who insist that you pay for a rejected meal.
