Called in for drinks today with my friend, sat outside in the sunshine. Charlie was very friendly and attentive he took our order promptly and brought our drinks out and he even had a lovely chat with us. He took the time to say goodbye when his shift finished too. We had a lovely time it felt very friendly and welcoming

First time visiting the Pied Bull and I have to say I was really impressed. The food was excellent — genuinely some of the best in the area — and I’ll definitely be coming back again. What stood out even more than the food, though, was the service. Ellie was absolutely flawless. She made sure we were well looked after the whole time without ever being intrusive. Friendly, bubbly and chatty, she struck the perfect balance that makes a dining experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. She’s a real credit to the establishment, and honestly people in the industry should take note — this is how service should be done. Highly recommended. ⭐️

The BEST Sunday Roast iv ever had! Staff were very attentive and polite and did their upmost to ensure we had a good experience. Food and drinks arrived in good time. The pied bull had a warm and cosy atmosphere whilst upholding a high level of elegance. Will be returning and would highly recommend a visit!

Visited on Sunday and tried both the beef and chicken roast dinners, they were absolutely incredible! Beautifully cooked, generous portions and full of flavour. The staff are always welcoming, attentive and go above and beyond to make you feel looked after. We’ve been regulars for the quiz for ages, but this has definitely secured our spot as roast-dinner regulars too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a proper Sunday roast!

Hands down one of the best Sunday roasts we’ve had. This pub absolutely nails it. The meat was perfectly cooked and incredibly tender, the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, and the Yorkshire puddings golden, exactly how they should be. Everything on the plate was full of flavour, from the seasonal veg to the rich, proper gravy that tied it all together. Portions were generous without being over the top, and the food came out hot and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, ideal for a long Sunday lunch, and the staff were friendly especially our waitress Erin, the staff were attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Add in a great pint alongside the roast and it’s pretty much perfection. If you’re looking for a top-tier Sunday roast in a proper pub setting, this is the place. We’ll definitely be back next Sunday!

I booked a table for 7 in between christmas and new year and it was fantastic. The table was ready and set with crackers and christmas table runner - a lovely touch. We all arrived at different times and there was a lovely young lady on hand to take each persons drink order as soon as they arrived. We had pre ordered and everything came out promptly and correctly. The food was delicious and of a high quality, everyone in the party commented on how nice it was. Thank you for a wonderful night!

First time visit to this public house as our daughter moved to the are. Boxing Day meal booked. One of the best meals we have all eaten for a long time. The chef and team produced some fantastic food, great quality and flavours, cooked to perfection and a variety of meals produced red hot at around the same time. The 3 courses all excelled expectations. That good me and my wife are coming back on our own. Also which is important is that it was great value with wonderful warm service, in a splendid spacious pub.

What a gem. Walking in, you are welcomed to a cosy atmosphere and sitting space. A pub that keeps the traditions but feels comfortable to lose the hours in. It was my first time visiting and attended for a birthday meal. The dining area held a great atmosphere and the food was delicious and well presented. It is rare I am able to finish a roast dinner when eating out but my plate was clean at the end! Staff were super friendly and for the driver of the group, plenty of good 0% options. Brilliant pub and a great place to return. I would highly reccomend! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

We recently hosted our STEN here within the beautifully decorated private function room in the back and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The Pied Bull has been our special place since moving to the area, hosting countless date nights, lunches, family meals and work celebrations so it felt only right to celebrate such an important occasion here. Michael and the amazing team put so much care and effort into helping us plan the day, making the whole process stress-free and enjoyable. Every detail was considered and nothing was too much trouble. Food was fantastic, the service was amazing and the atmosphere was exactly what we hoped for. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate. Thank you to Michael and the team for making it such a memorable evening for everyone. Would 100% recommend for any occasion!

Came in Tuesday night, I ordered fish and chips and it was lovely. Service was excellent and efficient. The vibe in the pub is really nice, the decor is classy and modern but still feels like an homely pub. Overall, my experience here was amazing. Will definitely be coming back. Big up the staff, they added the extra pizazz that really made the experience.

Michael and the team hosted my 40th birthday party on what was no doubt, the busiest Saturday of the month! They were fantastic in everything throughout and made the event a huge success!

The pied bull has become a regular haunt of mine. Me and my family love it! The food is exceptional, the staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive and the general vibe in there is great. I highly recommend to anyone!!

My favourite dog friendly local pub just got even better with a free doggie dinner with a purchase of a human Sunday dinner… BOOM!

Really nice pub that does excellent food. Good selection of real ales that cater for all tastes. Lamb was superb quality and cooked to perfection with an amazing rich sauce. Dessert was sticky toffee pudding that was super sweet and the ice cream helped it down. All in all a great pub well worth a visit!

I've been here once, four years ago before the refurb. We came again recently for Sunday dinner....I have to say, THE best Sunday roast! Quality food, great staff and dog friendly too. Already booked for next week.

Service second to non. Excellent atmosphere and great seats outside, some offering large umbrellas. Drinks a great price and fast service. Table water was offered straight away which isn't normally when you aren't eating

Lovely pub, great atmosphere. Wonderful service, really pleasant staff. The softshell crab burgers were yummy.

Came to the pied bull on Boxing Day to enjoy a nice meal with my family, to say the food was great would be a understatement, I got the chicken schnitzel and it was cooked to perfection, perfect crisp on the outside and juicy and tasty on the inside, the atmosphere was fantastic, not to busy but also the general chatter around us set a nice vibe, the staff were all fantastic and the service was sublime, all the servers who approached are table were helpful and respectful, bar staff were all lovely, was served by a lovely young man with long hair, overall was fanastic will be coming back and would definitely recommend to locals and tourist.

My husband & I visited here last Sunday, highly recommend it. No wait, seated straight away. Our waitress was lovely, so friendly & helpful. I went for the Sunday Lunch, it was delicious, portions were so big, can't fault anything. Hubby had Fish & Chips which were equally as good. Will definitely be eating there again.

What a cracker of a Sunday roast 👍🏻 Perfect tatws, beef moist and accompanied by a large dollop of horseradish sauce…yummy. Table staff were first class. Note noon opening and remember to pop your reg number in if parking in the back. Thank you team Pied Bull…..and all on a recommendation from the radiologist at PallMall along the street.

Travelled down from Scotland to visit family and was pleasantly surprised when visiting your eatery as atmosphere and attention from staff was definitely 5 star. My family were served attentively by a young lady named (I want to say amber or ember, I can’t remember for definite). Absolutely amazing service and atmosphere would definitely recommend!

Had the best night at the quiz tonight, The did was delicious and the quiz was really good fun. Would highly recommend!!

WOW! The service, food and atmosphere were amazing. Amber served perfect pints and she was polite, profession and friendly. Also excellent as she got our dog a bowl of fresh water. Amber and the other staff were outstanding.

Went in for Sunday lunch the staff where lovely as always very attentive and polite and the Sunday beef I had was beautiful my husband had the chicken he really enjoyed it what a great pub

The steak sandwich on the lunch menu is absolutely delicious! The staff are all attentive and friendly. Our allergy requirements were handled brilliantly. The decor is lovely and everywhere is clean too.

Spent a Saturday night here, it was a wonderful Atmosphere with a great DJ to enjoy after a lovely meal and drink with my friends, would definitely recommend for anyone looking for somewhere nice to have a meal or a drink with family and friends

Food was lovely. Menu was excellent. Waiting on staff mostly great - not a carlsberg service.. kitchen/food manager very abrasive Editing to add response to Pied Bull. We were the family of four sitting at the table next to the lady who complained - quite a valid complaint

We came here for Sunday lunch and had the prawns, sausages and Camembert to start and for main we both had the burger because they had ran out of Sunday roasts (it’s was 7pm to be fair). The staff were great and the food was good the starter came Straight away but we was waiting over an hour and half for the main meals. Will defo come back for food and drinks just hope it’s quicker next time

A pub which is great for everyone. The front outside seating is a great addition and the staff are ways attentive. The food is great but I would like to see a little more choice of traditional pub grub. We always enjoy our visit!

Mains were great but puddings were really disappointing. Brownie seemed to be microwaved given how hot it was on the edges but not in the middle, and my partners crumble was more crumble topping than filling (and had a big undercooked slice of apple in it). Waitress did apologise that they weren't as expected.

Steak frites is misrepresented on the website photo. The tomato and mushroom garnish were not on my plate. The garlic butter was not on my 'steak'. I wanted my 'steak' cooked medium rare. The chef cooks it one way and that's tough. Shoe leather! Take it off the menu. If you decide to eat at the Pied Bull order the mushroom pie or fish and chips both were delicious. If you park on the Pied Bull car park make sure you register your number plate inside at the bar. Otherwise you will get a large fine!

Came in for a drink at the weekend and place had a nice atmosphere but not overly busy. Only issue is all the bar staff (about 4/5 of them) seemed to be more interested in standing in the corner having a chat than serving the customers queuing at the bar, so there was quite a wait. The lady that did serve us (blonde hair and glasses) was very polite though.

Food very nice. Service very poor. One poor girl serving the whole room and just before Christmas. Waited so long for drinks then had to ask when they would be brought. Food took forever to come

Called in today with my wife for a casual drink with a portion of Chips .went back to the bar 25 minutes later and asked re chips was told they would be out presently. So we finished drinks 45 plus minutes later still no chips. Very disappointed. We left

Do not get the "steak" frites Paid £16 for a minute steak and chips daylight robbery... the guiness was alright though.

We came to this establishment for a nice steak. Prior to an appointment I had in the area.. the staff nice people but not very attentive. I ordered the steak. I can honestly say for for £28 it came and looked like a sock on my plate… the steak itself was flavourless and had zero seasoning. The fat on the steak was almost unbearable. The pepper corn sauce was tasty but cold. And the fries were like fries to go. I would return just wouldn’t get the steak for that price.. I’d pay £12 for that meal. PLEASE SEASON YOUR STEAK

Visited this place in September looked nice so parked in the car park for a quick beer on the way to my neices house ..tourists here one from NZ and my son who lives in Japan mehh so so pint of Taylor's so didn't stay ..hello a month later we get a parking ticket for parking in they're carpark! No signs to say it was restricted except on my way out after taking my empty glass back to the bar from outside btw a tiny little notice about the size of a postcard barely noticeable to say enter your car details here ..to late ..was going to go back with my family later but got told no the locals don't like it ..I can see why ..avoid like the plague ..shocking practice for ripping off unsuspecting tourists 🤨Ok mate I ll have to take your word for it maybe I should have looked better but having said that I've been to many pubs on my travels around the world and have never seen one with a carpark where you have to sign in we stopped for 30 minutes or so got my pint and sat outside perhaps ..just a suggestion your staff could have informed us and drew our attention to your notice ..and no we haven't paid it because it gets sent to my boy in Tokyo shorts sent as a letter which in a city of 15 million people is not fast I believe they have just sent another for 100 pound .I ll let you see a copy of it if you like

Visited on Sunday 27th April 2025 at 8pm with my family of 5 in total. Ordered 5 large soft drinks at £3.2p each. They came with 3/4 of the glass full of ice and not very much drink in them. Ordered some starters and main meals. Ordered the salt and pepper calamari. I got 6 small calamari rings for £9. I ordered the special lamb rump. It was special - it had an inch of congealed fat covering the small piece of lamb. I decided to feedback all of the above to the manager as I felt it was unacceptable. I spoke to Joseph, who answered the above queries in the following way. 1. Drinks - it was the companies policy to serve drinks with ice and not his doing. 2. Calamari - it was the companies policy on portion sizes. 3. Fatty meat - the chef apologised. I find the total lack of ownership from a manger of your business incredible. Clearly we won’t be returning.

Every time I’ve been in, I’ve asked the barman with long hair if they’re serving cocktails, and every single time he’s said no. Yet the last time I went, there were Pornstar Martini glasses all over the tables — so clearly they were doing them! I was completely sober every time, so I know exactly what I saw. Feels like they just can’t be bothered or pick and choose who they serve. Rude and disappointing.
