This place is TOP!! One of my favourite curry spots in Manchester. I usually always order via ubereats due to convenience but thought I’d go in person for date night and they had a 20% weekday offer going on. The restaurant itself was fairly fancy but dark so great for date nights or a quiet catch up with friends and family. My partner had a cake for me and the staff took it and handled the celebrations perfectly, our server was super kind and made sure that we were enjoying our dining experience throughout. We ordered a sharing platter which I’ve never tried before and that was surprisingly good, a mix of lamb, salmon and chicken grilled pieces and they were incredibly succulent. For mains we got a fish and lamb curry and they were super tasty too paired with rice, naan and poppadoms as a side. You could tell the staff and chefs are super close and they were all part of the celebrations too, we couldn’t help but give some cake too to the staff that made our experience here do great. Great for delivery and great for eat in dining, regardless of the occasion, I wish more people came here as it was fairly quiet during the weekday we went.

Chicken Briyani was really good and the Lamb keema with the buns were also good. Service was quick and efficient. Highly recommended for Indian cuisine in the Manchester area.

Very delicious and authentic indian food in the city center. Many vegetarian options. The food is freshly prepared. The staff and ambience is good.

Came here to try their Kanda Bhaji and Bhuna Gosht, and it was a good experience. Their foods have good portion sizes and their menu offers a wide variety of curry dishes. The restaurant location was initially quite hard to find for me as it's a little bit tucked away. The service is good at the restaurant, you walk in, get seated quickly and the food also came out fast. The food here can be quite pricey as a starter, a main curry dish with rice and a drink is almost £40. I went back again and also tried the Pav Bhaji, which tasted very good and large portion size. Currently they have 25% off most of their menu from Sunday to Thursday. Therefore I suggest you go these days as you get better deal for dining there.

One of the most wonderful and delicious Indian restaurants in Manchester. It's a little bit small and has limited number of tables. However, the team are so friendly and kind, even the chief came to us asking about the food and he played my lettle child!!

We had a family gathering of 20 adults, plus 1 child & 1 toddler. Staff were fantastic, allowed us to use our own playlist & pay separately. Food is delicious, between us we ordered too many to mention, including veggie, and gluten-free vegan; all dishes excellent. Menu is varied, not run-of-the-mill fayre, and definitely not overpriced, averaging at about £20pp plus drinks. Highly recommend Wah ji Wah, go with your friends, your family, on a date, or solo, but definitely go. Thanks to the chefs, waiting staff & kitchen staff for a truly memorable evening with fantastic food. *****

If you're in Manchester, this is a fantastic spot to check out. The food is delicious and the service is lightning-fast. The curries are particularly tasty for their distinctive flavor, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend it.

We came here by chance as we had reservations elsewhere but the fire alarm was going off for 30mins and we were starving. We did have to wait outside for 10minutes and then also move tables when a bigger group came in as it was a busy Saturday night but honestly we didn't mind as they seated us last minute. We are SO glad we came here instead - the food was out of this world, the chef was so welcoming and helpful, we are both vegans and they have a dedicated vegan/veggie menu and honestly it was some of the best food I've ever eaten. He even took our orders personally because the wait staff were so busy, so we never waited too long for a drink or our food. The Vegan Chicken Pepper Fried starter is made with the chef's own Seitan and I can't recommend enough - if you like good food, great Indian food, amazing vegan food or just the best onion Bhajis you've ever had, hit this place up. The ONLY criticism is that it took 15/20 minutes to pay because they were so busy, but that's such a small thing it was barely worth mentioning.

Delicious Indian food with nice ambience. Friendly staff ..great chef ..yummy food ..One of the best indian food experiences I've had. Must visit place in city centre Manchester. Atmosphere and interior is amazing. Service is good and the wait for food isn't long. Only came here for a quick lunch with little appetite, but it was definitely worth it! Food was nice and dishes are authentic. If you come to plan here make it a big evening meal/late lunch. Highly recommend and will be visiting again with an empty stomach! By far one of the best Indian Restaurant Chain's in the UK!

Had some of the best Indian food ever there! The starters (scallops & squid) were amazing. Our two mains (curries) extremely tasty with lots of flavor! Location is stylish and staff is very nice. We didn’t have a reservation but came pretty early, so getting a seat was no problem.

Picked this place as we needed something different from Dishoom and Asha's. After reading the reviews it looked like a good choice and it certainly didn't let us down. Menu is pretty small, but the choices are varied. Got the sharing starters for two and it was the perfect start. The main courses were just as good, got the hottest lamb and chicken options. Although, they weren't as spicy as what I'd eat at home they had a good level of spice together with great flavours. Both dishes worked well with naan and pilau rice. Try the gin based cocktail! It won't disappoint. Didn't get a chance to try desert so will have to go back to try them.

Cool and pretty restaurant in Manchester famous King Street. Food is amazing delicious! We tried 3 starters to share: salmon, artchokes kebab and cheese in curry sauce. After I had a vegetarian option in curry as main and my husband chicken. Every plate was amazing delicious. Chef are very kind and customer oriented. Also the waiter was really helpful. We will come back soon. Thanks for that amazing dinner

We had our celebratory wedding meal here last summer and could not thank Manish and the team enough for there fantastic hospitality and flexibility. They were kind enough to open the restaurant just for us and our guests for the afternoon. We had thalis and Manish was happy to tailor the menu to meet all our guests dietary requirements. Everyone loved the food which was cooked fresh, was authentic and was full of flavour. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough to help, they even let us do speeches and perform a song and joined in with the celebrations. Thank you Manish and your team for helping to make our wedding day so special.

Customer Service had always been the number 1 for me and these guys were very attentive, polite and always available when we needed something. Food was amazing! The Lamp chops as the starters were by far the best I've had. The king prawns was full of flavour and had the right amount of spice. The main Chicken Jalfrezi was absolute perfection. The dish was bursting with flavour, various different herbs and spices. It was an absolute delight. The garlic naan and the tandoori roti complimented this flavoursome dish very well. Definitely will visit again.

This place deserves 5+ stars. Being an international professional in Manchester, I've not had such amazing biryani from anywhere else. Really great stuff. Keep up the good work.

The Wah Ji Wah Indian restaurant in Manchester is a gem. First of all the food was excellent, perfectly spiced and not too creamy graving but just perfect. The nan was the best I ever tried, there was a chewiness and lightness to it, so we ordered a second one. Staff was very attentive and the kitchen looked very clean as one could see it from the restaurant. The place is not super big, it has modern and seemingly new interior. I liked the dim lighting but perhaps it could be even slightly more dimmed. Staff was very attentive. I’d return if I come back to Manchester.

Honestly it was one place in Manchester that I can say Indian veg food tastes really good, atleast how it's supposed to, saraoda saag was really lovely, will know more on the Non-veg when I visit next time, but yes definitely worth a visit

As an old git who has had curry's all his adult life I was blown away with this small restaurant fresh and full of flavours best curry I have had in Manchester in a few years

Hands down the goan fish curry is one of the best curries I've ever had let alone one of the best fish curries. Food overall was amazing, from starters to mains to desserts to the couple of mango lassis I had. Service was quick and efficient, atmosphere was intimate and pleasant, good to go to with a partner and/or a date. Was a little on the pricier side compared to most Indians I've been to but then again it is in the city centre so it's to be expected, and the food was amazing so overall was worth it I feel, highly recommend.

It was incredible The food was was wonderful and they gave popodum before the meal which was delicious The service was kind and everything about the atmosphere made it feel cosy, little candles stone brick and some painting’s it was also quite bright The noise level was quiet so you can speak It was small and there was couches Food: My favourite the paneer butter masala wasn’t too spicy and was creamy The mutton was good and pretty much everything was good I recommend it and it’s in Manchester

Great food and wine at a reasonable price. Restaurant was clean and staff friendly. Just under £100 for 3 curries with rice, naan bread, poppadoms and a bottle of wine.

My son recommended paying a visit for authentic Indian food. He was right the food was gorgeous, no complaints at all from any of our 5 party, and the peshwari nans were the best I've had. It's not as luxurious as some other Indian restaurants, like eastzeast, but the food is well worth the visit!

Literally the best curry in Manchester. Dishoom is across the road, but miles away in flavour. Get the roast lamb lazeez it’s magical. Staff are class, Cobra on draught, 10/10 every time.

Arguably the best Indian food I have had in UK. Fantastic briyani and Keema Pau. Even the papadum taste good!! Great service by wait staff too.

Came here a couple of nights ago. The food was really delicious. I can't fault it. We had the Goan fish curry, palak paneer, bombay potatoes, pilau rice and garlic naan. The prices are very reasonable too considering it's a city centre restaurant. There was only one waiter front of house who was very rushed as he had to do everything but we felt looked after and he was very courteous and helpful. We did wait quite a while for the main, over 45 minutes but I'm glad to say it was worth it. The manager did come over and apologised for the wait (which we appreciated) and explained that someone had called in sick. It was my first time there and I'll definitely be back to try the dal makhani, which I was told was their speciality. I would recommend this place!

We went to Wah Ji Waah to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was such a wonderful experience! The vegetarian food was absolutely delicious with a mild and authentic Indian taste that we really enjoyed. They even surprised us with a complimentary slice of cake, which was a lovely gesture. The prices are very affordable, and the quality is top-notch. Special thanks to Chef Manish and the entire team.

Had an amazing meal at Wah Ji Wah! We tried the butter chicken, lamb biryani, daal makhani, naan, roti, lamb chops, samosa chaat, and finished with gulab jamun and ice cream — everything was delicious. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the biryani perfectly spiced, and the lamb chops were tender and cooked to perfection. The daal makhani had that slow-cooked, comforting taste, and the samosa chaat was a real highlight — tangy, crispy, and full of flavour. To top it all off, the gulab jamun with ice cream was the perfect sweet ending. The staff and chef were incredibly hospitable and friendly, making us feel truly welcome throughout our meal. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service. Highly recommended — one of the best Indian dining experiences in Manchester! Will definitely be coming back soon. 🌟

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had. Absolutely fantastic food. Service was really good. Place was fairly quiet and lacked a little bit of atmosphere however for this quality of food, that’s a tiny price to pay

First time visit Looking to have a Indian and we came across this place. They had a few tables so we where seated very quick. Think they where training a few new staff up as well. Ample time to look over the menu which was kept very simple using there own Bangladeshi style food, order was taken and food came in a good time. Food was of a good standard, not sure all staff spoke English as it took a little time to understand what we where ordering. My only grip was the price of a 400ml bottle of water for £4.20, that is a joke. Yes I understand they do tape water Something I am going to be making a note of in all my reviews. Would eat again with them

This place is small and knit. Friendly staff Clean One toilet which was used for all customers (I feel like someone in a wheelchair would struggle to manoeuvre around the restaurant/toilets) The starters which I had ordered were Punjabi Samosa Channa Chaat and Lasooni Murg tikka (they were so tasty couldnt fault them. The pastry from the samosas were crispy and buttery and the chicken was well cooked and melted in my mouth). The mains I had Dum Ki Biryani (Lamb)- this was nice sort of nothing amazing, Sarson Ka Saag - i didnt really enjoy this, seemed a little bitter Paneer Butter Masala (this was a little sweet for my liking) they did have another option Paneer Mirch Masala (I assume this would have had the kick) My overall opinion on the food was okish. I enjoyed the starters more than the mains. Unfortunately I couldn't try the desserts as I was too full.

Visited here for Saturday night dinner and it was crowded. Even after booking appointment, there was a wait for 15-20 mins and also there was not much space for waiting area. Staff was not able to attend people waiting. Also staff could be more welcoming and attentive. We got a table near kitchen and heard chef telling staff to serve our dishes before those get cold. So dishes were ready but they was delay in serving. Food quality was good and enough options for both veg and non-veg. Quantity wise starters were in lesser quantity like you get 3 pieces in Paneer Tikka and 2 pieces in Kabab. So order accordingly. Mango lassi was also good but Lemonade was bottle but I was expecting fresh one.

Time: Saturday pm. Order:samosa chaat / chicken wah ji wah / dum ki biryani with Prawn. Service and armosphere are excellent. The dishes are delicious. Samosa slightly hot and biryani needs more cooking as the rice was not done yet. Though the prawns were fresh. Next time, I might order the murg tikka masala because the garcon recommended it.

The taste was good, delicious. The quantity was good as well for the main course. The quantity for the starters was too less, but the taste was good.

Good quality north Indian food. Having tried both the set menu (thali) and the a la carte menu, I must say the thali is a better option and good value for money. If you were to be critical, for the price you pay the service could be better and a bit more personalised.

Food was great. We had chicken, paneer and aaloo with garlic naan. The only thing that upset me was not properly cleaned glass. We can clearly see lip marks probably from the last customer. When I informed the staff at the time of payment, he just said you should have asked for another glass. No any apologies or any mention. Apart from this the food was delicious. If you are planning to visit the restaurant then just make sure regarding hygiene and check your plates/glasses as staff won't care much regarding it.

They do puchka and vada pav but the only issue i had with them is that it was very small quality. Just 4 puris in puchka and 2 very small vadas for vada pav, did not so justice on what i had to pay The place is super expensive as compared to some other indian places They do have quite a good selection of wine. We had told our server clearly that we do not want any ginger piece on top as garnishing, however we still had a ginger slice in our paneer veg. The server was not apologetic when complained about it and just said, sorry its just one piece. Not something i would accept from a place where i am paying so much money We also had 2 house flies flying over our table.

P
Pushpa Hossain

The menu looked really promising, however, the food itself tasted more like it was homemade and made in a bulk in a rush rather restaurant quality. I’d avoid the starters next time and just dig into the main whenever I feel homesick. Not somewhere I’d go with friends for a dining experience

M

Food and ambience is good but I have been here twice with my friends and every time we have to wait a long time for food even though the restaurant is not busy and food quantity is not value for the money as I was surprised to receive a wing and leg piece for ordering a half chicken. Management and chef has to look into this service issues.

Was in Manchester on Tuesday for the day and ended up visiting here, had about a hour to eat before my Parking run out. Was silently greeted and sat down, we was the only 2 people there which is fine. ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, with rice and my friend ordered a Paneer Curry with Garlic Naan. and a sweet lime soda drink. The waiter was very quiet didn't really say anything actually. The drink didn't have much fizz to it and the lime was very diluted, the portion sizes were fairly small. which means the value for money wasn't great. the chicken tikka masala just taste like tomato soup with chicken chunks. my friend curry was similar. the naan was really small for the price. My friend asked the water for tap water (since they are a licensed premises they have to provide it free). took about 10 minutes to get from the bar behind him to our table. Overall for £33 was fairly expensive as we could get similar but of better quality in our home city for around £25. I was going to ask them to remove the service charge as standard but I felt bad because we were the only people there.

Came here on Monday (17/11) and loved the food, truly one of the best I've eaten in the UK. But I can't help but complain about the extremely unprofessional waiter that I was unlucky enough to be served by that night. Ironically so, the same waiter happened to be clearly training a new hire. I ordered Paneer Mirch Masala and asked the waiter to make it extra spicy, to which the waiter in an arrogant manner tells me he can't do that for me because the dish is already spicy enough, and more spice would be too much. He insisted despite my partner reassuring him I have high tolerance for spice. I decided to trust the waiter's "expertise" and in return got extremely mild gravy, with only one green chilli and just a hint of red chilli powder. Later the waiter came around to ask if everything is okay with the food, and due to my overall easy going nature I just said "yeah it's good". The waiter however must've interpreted that as him being right in denying my request? He then proceeds to walk away and start chatting to the waiter in training, being all like "See, she asked me to make it extra spicy for her, but I said no because it's already spicy enough for her and now she's saying the dish is spicy enough. Sometimes it's okay to say no to a customer" 🤦🏼‍♀️. As someone who's worked years in customer service, chatting about a customer in a way that the customer in question can hear the whole conversation is absolutely unacceptable. I can forgive the waiter's poor recommendation but I cannot forgive such arrogance and unprofessional behaviour towards a customer. Perhaps somebody needs to train this waiter before he trains someone else.

I love Indian food, it may be my favourite now I guess and though I'm not Indian or Asian myself, very UK British White, I thought their food was lovely. A separate vegan menu for me, as the waiter showed me on his mobile phone and let me borrow it, to peruse their vegan menu, in there too. I thought from ordering my meals to receiving, there was only one waiter in there serving and though not very busy, felt as though it could have been a bit quicker, in all though. I ordered the vegan biryani dish and it came in a small bowl, what I had was nice, but the portion size could have been, a little more generous, I thought. The 25% off, on Sundays there is good, glad I've been as the decor in the place is nice and the atmosphere also, whilst it wasn't very busy there, that Sunday upon calling in.

A so called Authentic indian cuisine place which leaves a lot to be desired. The vegetarian dishes out here left a lot to be desired. The staff wasn't very attentive nor very cooperative. The food was not worth the hype also not that well tasting either nor was it sufficient in quantity. As a desi, I would not recommend anyone this. There are much better places in and around the city centre like Dishoom, Arnero etc. Save yourself the time efforts and money.

Went there expecting good Indian hospitality and food. The menu looked very attractive with the promise of the owner being from Mumbai. Bad service, short staffed, argumentative host, chipped water pitcher. Not a nice experience. We didn't order beyond starters, had gone to celebrate my daughters college enrollment, came out feeling quite upset. Hope management looks into this.

Very, very highly spiced food, ordered a chicken curry n it was hotter than the surface of the sun, powder hot, no sight of a fresh chilli, cardamon pops or cloves. Left it

Visited on 05/02/2026 at 3:45 pm We were 5 people and asked for a bigger table as the place was empty and we wanted to be comfortable in the small place. The steward was cold and not at all welcoming. Food was tasty but portion size is disappointing. The steward ruined our meal by approaching us at 4:30 and stating that he received a booking for 11 people at 5 so he will need the table by then. We didn't have the heart to pay service fee but still paid for the people who prepared the meal for us. Horrible attitude of the steward. He needs to know he needs to be welcoming and humble.

We came here for a special birthday after hearing good reviews. However, the experience was very appalling; the food was uncooked and when the concern was raised, there was no acknowledgment. The owner/ chef was rude and said that the food is usually made to be “undercooked” and we should have asked for it to be made well done. We had also ordered the snapper, which was also undercooked. When our bill arrived, they still proceeded to charge us for the undercooked food and added the service charge. Even overall, the food came it sightly cold. Won’t be returning and would not recommend.

The taste is not bad. But it's absolutely not value for money with very tiny miserly portions. The starter dish felt like something had mistakenly fallen onto a plate and been served - I could count all of them on my fingers, was the worst I ever had. Service was okay, but with very limited interactions. Not a satisfying dining experience overall.

a
aalia khan

We actually ordered a lot of stuff here, and the most of it tasted wonderful, so I was originally satisfied. However, the encounter with the Pot of tea drastically altered our perception. The menu stated the pot as £3.95, however we were charged £5.95. When we asked, we were simply told that the price had changed but the menu had not been updated. We were informed that it would be authentic masala chai with ginger and spices. When the tea arrived, it was quite bland, with no masala flavour at all; it did not taste like desi chai. When we gently addressed this to the waiter, he cut us off and answered dismissively, saying "no one has ever complained before" rather than listening. The approach felt rude and disrespectful, which put us off. The problem wasn't the pricing; it was the attitude and refusal to acknowledge feedback. It's frustrating because the food was actually rather nice, but the customer service experience made us feel insulted and left a bad impression.
