Visited for a birthday meal, staff were friendly, polite and attentive. Food was very tasty, well priced for manchester and a few things on the menu were different to usual so lots to explore. Overall had a great experience
We visited this evening for the first time. We had a waitress called Kayleigh… She went above and beyond to make sure our visit was the best. The food was amazing, there was live music on which was lovely. 100% recommend and we will be returning 👌🏽
Lunch time meal with a soft drink £10, or £12 with alcohol. Absolute bargain. One thing blues does better than other places is all the staff are so lovely, have actual conversation with you and are a credit to the business. Food is lovely as always
This place is just amazing ! The food and service was top tier. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning when I'm back in Manchester ! Both ordered the peppers ,vegan curry and vegan chocolate mouse which were all amazing. Well done !
What a great place! Every table was taken, so shows its popularity. Even though it was busy it was well staffed and run really well by attentive and friendly staff . The decor and the feel of the place was a definite vibe. We ate there but there was also seating at the front for drinks only. The food was nice enough. ( We had chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger)No complaints. Would definitely recommend and would return as we just loved the feel of the place. We weren’t there when the live music was on but there was a stage where they regularly have people playing.
The atmosphere was great , they had live music playing. The food was amazing & service was top tier! Shoutout Jordan for the hospitality
Great value for money, the food tastes great and the portions are good. The drinks are also very nice and affordable. Got to experience live music, I recommend you check it out
What a vibe! First step in the door, and the staff smiled and immediately made us feel welcome. Food was delicious and cocktails only £6 on fridays. We didn’t have time for dessert and we mentioned we celebrated birthdays this week, and was given dessert to take home. Imogen was super friendly and made time to chat with us! Great addition to your team! Give her a raise or promotion 🤪 The band who played was also great! Visited on 30/05. Also the interior , is crazy cool.
Food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing!! Special shout out to the Mac and cheese - WOWW chef needs a round of applause! The service from Lauren was amazing! She made sure we had a wonderful experience!
We visited a couple weeks , and I’ll be honest I’ve never seen such a cool venue like this one. The vibe you get the minute you walk in is perfect. The service was phenomenal, the lady who served us was very good, recommending the menu. The time it took the food to come out was very fast (thought it was someone else’s order that came to the wrong table, but it was just ours that was done quick). definitely suggest going here, bet it’s good to go before going to the opera house.
Superb! Great setting, terrific interior design and layout, fantastic food and amazing staff! A chance decision for dinner; not disappointed at all. We were readily accommodated (short-notice booking) and very well looked after … our waitress Anais was a wonderful host! Craving for a meat feast was amply satisfied. Would definitely go again, and again - highly recommended!
I had a meal here new year's eve the food was nice and the service was great, 4 star for atmosphere as my table was so dark I couldn't see my food properly 😂
So I was in Town to pick up my Wife from a business trip in Oxford and she decided she wanted to go out for tea so after abit of uncertainty we decided to head to The Blues Kitchen as my Wife had wanted to go for ages. So we didn't book and just turned up we parked up round the corner(As parking is limited around Quay Street) we were warmly greeted by a hostess who seated us in a booth and after a few minutes the waitress came and took our drinks order so I opted for a pint of Lager and my Wife opted for a glass of pint Noir. Drinks arrived well presented, crisp and went down a treat shortly after a waitress brought us a jug of Ice water for the table so then several minutes later the waitress came and took our food my Wife wasn't starving but fancied something to eat so she opted for a large portion of Buffalo Chicken Wings with a blue dip sauce and I ordered the fried Chicken 🍗 🐔 fries and gravy. We had to wait several minutes for the food but my God was it worth it, I have never tasted Chicken so good in my life, Honestly the chicken was amazing, decent portion size, The chicken was tender, juicy and the flavours were out of this world 🌎, The fries and gravy were also very tasty. My Wife really enjoyed her Buffalo Chicken wings with blue cheese sauce again they were spicy yet tender and so juicy and succulent, We both cleaned our plates and decided to order another round of drinks I opted for a Mojito cocktail 🍸and my Wife opted for a double baileys over ice 🧊. Service was great, polite and friendly staff, Excellent drinks, Limited food menu but the Chicken 🐔 is absolutely amazing, Restaurants was spotlessly clean, Quirky interior as the restaurant used to be a eye hospital back in the Olden days, Drinks ranging from non alcoholic to cocktails to beers to spirits to soft drinks etc. Bill was £75 but we rounded it up to £90, The restaurant has live music 🎶 most nights and fantastic experience and we will definitely be back. 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ 5☆ 5☆
Great service! Barrel beer can flat twice but something must have been wrong with the pump. Didn’t charge so all good. Wings to start were ok, nothing extraordinary not special. Quite think on the meat. Tina tostadas were great as usual. Chopped salad was fab. Fried chicken , gravy and fries again were maybe not different to a middle ground chicken shop. A lot of batter, minimal chicken. Gravy was cold and chips tasted like they had been half fried, then re fried. Hard and not crispy. Service was excellent as usual.
Atmosphere of this place is incredible, food was spot on, but what stands out most is the service ~ special thanks to Tom and Millie who made our night and clearly have an eye for top tier customer focus.
Amazing vibe and super cool live music. Drinks a little on the pricey side but not awful and made up for by free entry.
My favorite place in Manchester for a drink!! Great atmosphere, live music after 8pm, amazing drinks and the best decor, really really cool place!! Staff are really friendly aswell
Such a gorgeous venue, stunning decor and lovely chilled vibe. Friendly bar staff too. Perfect for pre theatre drinks if visiting the Opera house as we were. We could have stayed all afternoon though tbf.
Fantastic place! Shout-out to our super lovely server Ruby 🫶 Must visit if you're in Manchester. My local friends had just been here for the first time a few days before and since I was in town, they suggested we come to the Blues Kitchen because they loved it so much. Please try the artichoke & spinach dip, it's divine, as good if not better than ones I've had in Canada. The short rib is massive, my mates struggled to finish it between the two of them and loved it. Great margarita options too. The live music was also a great addition to the evening. I'm not surprised this place was packed on a Tuesday!! Booking ahead recommended. Will definitely be back when I'm next in Manchester.
I had an incredible experience at The Blues Kitchen Manchester. The food was absolutely amazing - genuinely the best BBQ and cornbread I’ve ever had. Everything was full of flavour and really well prepared, and the prices are excellent for such high-quality dishes. The drinks menu is also fantastic with plenty of great options to choose from. Another huge plus is that the place is dog friendly, which made the visit even better. Service was outstanding from start to finish - friendly, attentive, and really welcoming. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, great vibes, and great service!
We went to The Blues Kitchen days ago and I can't stop thinking about the sweet potato and peanut curry that I had, it was delicious, beyond outstanding. The place itself is quirky, old school vibez, everywhere you look there is something to admire and take in. It's very loud, there's loud music and a bustling scene, so if you are hard of hearing, this place may not be for you, but I loved it!
We had a fantastic time at The Blues Kitchen Manchester! Our server Emily was absolutely wonderful — so friendly, full of energy, and really attentive throughout the evening. She even gave us the discount even though we forgot our keyring, which was so kind of her! The food and drinks were amazing too. Great vibes, great service, and such a lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!
First time here yesterday afternoon before we went to the Opera house will not be the last. Atmosphere fabulous. Food delicious. The absolute stand out for us was Izzy ( sorry if wrong spelling ) what a lovely young women very warm and welcoming, suggested the wine and food dishes. She had a great sense of humour made of experience a dream.
Four of us decided to visit the Blues Kitchen at the last minute and we're so happy we did. We managed to get a table fairly easily (with a little patience). We all had a lovely evening, taking in the ambience, chatting and watching the live jazz band. The food and drinks are on the pricier side but still value for money. Highly recommended.
Great place all week round but I hidden gem for an affordable quick weekday lunch. £10 all in (plus additional tip which you can’t begrudge due to service and price). The options on the lunch menu are great and the turnaround time is amazing. Easy 5 stars!!!
We ate at Blues Kitchen for the 2nd time last night and it was such a great experience. The food is delicious, cocktails were yummy and all the staff were so lovely and patient despite it being really busy. We were lucky to have the lovely Alicia looking after us and she was so attentive and we were never without a drink. Highly recommend the restaurant and the club. Been to some great gigs there. There was also live music in the restaurant later on, which I think happens every night, and that added to the ambience. It's a fabulous space, with loads of cool features.
Was very naughty and went on a school night 🤭 for Tequila Tuesdays where they had live music of Soul & Neo soul which was nice to set the tone and Margaritas for £6 all night. Highly recommend the Spicey Margs. It wasn't busy so it was perfect settings / noise to hear the music Food was very tasty, had small plates - loved the Tuna tostada, avocado, Korean hot sauce, sesame, jalapeño , they serve X2 to share but could easily have on my own and a further more x6 on a plate it was that delicious 😋 Ox cheek nuggets with miso ketchup was good 👌🏿 For the mains, I ordered Smoked pork belly rib, peach tea BBQ sauce, kewpie slaw. Served with fries, got Mac & cheese (was average) and cornbread (was good, probably didn't need 1 each) on the side. Enjoyed this and really liked the sauces; peach tea BBQ sauce and miso ketchup, very tasty and unique. The service was top notch and everyone was attentive, friendly and inviting 👏🏿
I visited Blues Kitchen recently and while the food was really good, the service is what truly made the experience exceptional. Kayleigh was absolutely incredible from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely looked after throughout the meal. Her energy and professionalism added so much to the atmosphere, and she went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Great food, but Kayleigh’s service is what will bring me back. A real credit to Blues Kitchen!
The food was good it was a shame the fries were cold but Jordan sorted it out really quickly. The starters were really very good had the ox crocks and tuna tostada bothe excellent for main taco salad and pork belly also cooked well and for dessert the cookies the service was excellent well run Just a good basic food well done
Really good food. The best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had. The vibes were nice and chilled with a good lovely atmosphere. The drinks were delicious and the happy hour is such a good deal.
⭐ 4/5 New Year’s Eve at Blues Kitchen Manchester Rang in the New Year at Blues Kitchen Manchester and honestly, the atmosphere was doing all the heavy lifting. The house band were so good I briefly considered quitting my job and becoming a full‑time groupie. Very different vibe to the Camden venue — less “wild night out in a converted barn” and more “Manchester swagger with a bluesy twist” — but still a cracking place to spend an evening. Now… the bar prices. £10 for a single and mixer. Ten. Pounds. At that rate I assumed the mixer was hand‑squeezed by a jazz legend backstage. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Still, great night, great music, great energy. I’ll definitely be back — but next time I might pre‑drink like a student to avoid taking out a small loan at the bar.
Niiiice! The staff was great, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere lovely, clean and very cute. The food I would give a 8: nothing bad with it and it was good! Would defo return and spend an evening with friends.
I took my wife and children tonight to Blues Kitchen for my wife’s birthday. The food was fantastic but what made the whole experience just great was Jordan who served us. He was just amazing. A real credit to Blues Kitchen. Friendly, helpful and fun. He also made a fuss of my wife for her birthday with a surprise dessert along with candle and song!! He couldn’t have been more brilliant. We’ll definitely be back.
Bar/club: A top club with amazing live music and really good atmosphere. No entry fee so drinks are a little pricey but nothing insane. Restaurant: Equally good, food is lovely and reasonably priced. Spinach dip is unreal. Overall - an excellent place to visit.
Really enjoyed the cool vibe and stylish décor. Visited for lunch and the deal was great value for money. The food was tasty and well presented, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. Would definitely recommend and would happily return to try the evening menu and enjoy the atmosphere later in the day.
We have been here a few times but this one exceeded our expectations. We had a quick turnaround between our 6pm booking and a 7:30pm theatre showing and the service was impeccable. It was seamless, with drinks arriving promptly and really nice servers. The food was outstanding and we loved every bite. It was my husband's birthday and they recognised it with some oreo doughnuts which were delicious. Our server Amy in particular was fantastic and took time to see we were ok and ask us about our evening. Definitely recommended for pre-theatre dinner.
Really enjoyed it here! The atmosphere was great, I love the decor too. The food was delicious too and the service was quick and very friendly! I’d definitely recommend and will be coming back
If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Anna (the manager) managed to accommodate me and my partner after hearing we were let down at another restaurant. She even came to our table with complimentary glasses of Prosecco that was totally unexpected. She informed us that the live music was about to start (which again, was amazing) and gave us reassurance that we would be looked after. Our server was called Emily and she’s a true asset. She is so funny and so friendly. She really made our night special. We asked for her recommendations on what to order and they did not disappoint. We ordered a guacamole dip for a starter, which tasted beyond good and then a steak for our mains which was cooked to perfection! The food was exceptional in all aspects! We also had Benji deliver our drinks and he was so kind and friendly. We appreciate all the staff who work here as it shows they love where they work and have the best training to make peoples nights amazing! I would also like to thank the hostess who greeted us, I didn’t get her name but she was so helpful too!! High recommended coming here as we didn’t experience one bad thing!
We ate here on 2 evenings. The staff are knowledgeable, extremely helpful and clearly enjoy their work. It’s an excellent team. The food was excellent. Millie consistently went above and beyond to make sure we were well looked after. The Oreo doughnuts are so good. The music and overall vibe is great. Highly recommended- we hope to visit again soon.
Service was stand out. Went for a chill birthday lunch with my brother and food was great as well. Our servers Tannyth & Niamh were wonderful and kindly offered me some Delicious Desert on the house for my Birthday. Would 100% recommend
Went to Blues recently, with my Partner during a trip to Manchester to see a match after finding the place online. It was a real highlight, the staff could not do enough for us, and when they heard it was our anniversary they sent down two proceccos, such a lovely gesture. The food was fab and the atmosphere was electric with great live music. Shout out to Eloise, the most amazing server who made our night, she was the best!!!
We celebrated my 30th birthday in the private dining room and it was amazing! All of the staff at Blues Kitchen went out of their way to make sure it was super special including helping to decorate the room. A massive thank you to Millie for going above and beyond to make it extra special and a fab experience for all. The waiting on team were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be doing it again!
Came here last year April for a late lunch with a friend. We ordered the chicken burger and cheeseburger and did halves. Both were delicious and came with a portion of fries. I really liked the interior of the restaurant too. They have live music playing most nights I believe but the night we went it was just normal music. Would visit again.
There's a great soundtrack that continues to play in this place. Popped in for a quick afternoon bite on a trip into town so no live music at the time. Had the ox cheek nuggets... Damn they were good. Little explosions of tender pulled meat in crispy coating. Fries were good - hot and crispy but perhaps portion a little small for a fiver! Really friendly service! Perhaps a few more choices for draught beer wouldn't hurt. Camden Hells but not Camden Pale?! Need to come back during live music - can imagine has a great atmosphere.
Very good overall, nice portion sizes and the service was great. The live music doesn’t usually start till 8pm, so advisable to book later if that’s a reason you’re going.
My first visit here with friends after curling (previous review) and we were served by Jack. They are doing January deal 50% off on food. We ordered some small plates to share: Popcorn squid, Buffalo chicken wings, and Ox cheeks nuggets. My husband and I ordered Smoked pork belly rib and Sirloin steak as our mains. All the food and drinks came at reasonable time. The small plates were very good. My favourite was the ox cheeks nuggets which were crispy on the outside and meaty and juicy inside. The mains were the real deal. Portion size was decent for both. The Sirloin steak was cooked perfectly as requested. The smoked pork belly was meaty (not much fat) and tender. The components paired well with the meat too. Friendly staff and positive service throughout but there was a bit of wait for attention when the place got busier.
Good deal, £10 lunch deal so value for money was fab. We had a veggie burger, the mac and cheese and a beef brisket burger, as well as some additional sauces. Veggie burger: 3/5 - very nice but given I eat a lot of veggie burgers lol it was nothing to write home about. Beef brisket burger: 4/5 - meat was delicious but used to come in a baguette but now it comes in a burger bun, so loses a star for that! Mac and cheese: 4/5 - once we added salt and pepper this was delicious. Main complaint for me would be the fries - way too crispy, like little bricks! Gorgeous venue and service was fine 😊
I do not often write reviews, but I just wanted to shout out some of the amazing staff at this location. I had told the lovely host who sat me that I was there on a first date, and they kindly answered my question on any safety policies they had in place. I was assured that they use "Ask for Angela" but my server, Kayleigh, was also informed of the situation. She was very sweet and kind; sitting with me briefly and chatting before my date arrived which helped calm my nerves. We even established a signal for if things were a bit awkward with my date. Thankfully things went well, but it was comforting to know that I had allies in the building just in case. Service was fantastic, the food took a little while but was worth the wait, and the vibe in the restaurant was nice. Would definitely recommend and I will back!!
The famed London based live music venue's base in the North West. The best bit about this bar is the building fit out, it's a wonder to look at and must have cost an unbelievable amount to decorate. Judging by the setting, a lot of the features were not original but retrofitted in at fit out stage. Worth going in an having a quick look round at what they have done. This must have cost a lot! I was there on a Friday, and it was full (needed a booking). The live band were tight and very accomplished. Would say that the downside to the rather disparate layout of the venue, was it perhaps lacks a bit of atmosphere. The stage is positioned to the side where not everyone can see it and engage with the musicians... it doesn't quite have the buzz of the Camden or Old Street venues. Food menu was a bit different, more out there than other places in the City that stick to the classics. Some will love it, others may not- so check in advance if you're eating. Loads and loads of staff, very attentive. They definitely go for the upsell and can be on the pushy side of friendly (if you get me) Would perhaps recommend a week day evening - for a chill look at fit out and a relaxed drink. Then save your off the hook Fridays for somewhere a bit more pumping. Or if you want a suave and classy lounge bar vibe, there are other places in the City that cater for this a bit better.
Music ★★★★★ | Drinks ★★★★ | Food ★★★ This place is full of old-world charm, and honestly, the food isn’t really the highlight. It’s more about soaking in the atmosphere — enjoying good music, unwinding, and sharing stories. Perfect spot to grab a drink, listen to some tunes, and let life slow down a little.
