Opinions de Bill's Restaurant & Bar - Spinningfields Manchester
I’ve visited other Bill’s locations before, but the Spinningfields restaurant is definitely one of the nicest. The atmosphere was brilliant, helped even more by the beautiful Christmas decorations. They even had a fun Christmas game where you could win a bottle of prosecco! We were warmly greeted and seated straight away, and our waitress was very friendly throughout. We were a large party with a pre-booked set menu. I had the beetroot salad to start, which was fresh with a lovely dressing, followed by the turkey dinner - generous portions and really tasty. The blueberry cheesecake for dessert was incredibly creamy and delicious. We also received a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival, which was a great touch. Overall, we had a really lovely time. Definitely recommend this Bill’s if you’re in Manchester!
First time here! We wanted to sit inside, but the tables were a bit narrow, so the staff kindly set us up outside with heating. Super comfy and perfect for a chat. Generous portions, friendly service, and a really relaxed, enjoyable brunch.
Dropped in for brunch. Lovely welcome, seated quickly, prompt service. Food and drinks were great. Excellent value!
The Amarillo Accounting team celebrated our Christmas dinner at Bill’s, and we had such a great time. The staff was so kind, fun, and professional—which isn’t easy during such a busy time (December!). They had amazing vegetarian options, and we were even able to bring our office dog. Thank you so much!
I enjoyed my time there. The food was really good and everyone was welcoming. Especially Melinda she was lovely. Thank you !
Here with our toddler and there was a lovely separate menu with activities for him as well as some crayons, stickers and activity sheet to keep him busy. We had the chicken shawarma, tuna steak and my lil fella had the meatball pasta. Desserts were lovely too: choc brownie and sticky toffee pudding. The sizes of the portions were good to allow us each to have 3 courses. Would definitely recommend as a nice family eatery!
Great decor, lovely outdoor searing area for the warmer days. Eggs royale with avocado was delicious, albeit served a bit cold. The pancakes were delicious, as well as the pomegranate lemonade. We were a large party of 11 and the food was served sporadically which was a shame as some people were mid way through their meals whilst others hadn't even arrived.
Such a lovely evening, made even better by Chantel. Thank you so much for the recommendations and for the excellent service!
We enjoyed a lovely meal here - the tastiest chicken schnitzel I've tasted on our shores. The interior is also very nicely decorated and the music is at a pleasant volume.
Amazing food. Had the halloumi burger and the mini doughnuts with dulce the leche and chocolate Everything was so amazing and super tasty
Had an amazing bottomless tea. Food was lovely and the service was amazing Would high recommend the bottomless for £27.50
Amazing Service and Delicious Pancakes! I recently visited Bill’s for bottomless pancakes, and it was an incredible experience! I ordered the Biscoff pancakes, and they were absolutely delicious and so filling—definitely worth every bite. The real highlight of the visit, though, was the amazing service from Michael, who waited our table. He was incredibly kind, friendly, and such a sweet person. His warm and attentive approach really made our meal extra special. It’s always a treat to encounter someone who genuinely cares about providing a great experience. Thank you, Michael, for your wonderful service! I’ll definitely be back soon.
Me and a group of friends had our Christmas lunch here. It was very tasty. I had pate, followed by steak and sticky toffee pudding. My friends enjoyed their meal too. Cocktails are good too! The surroundings are really nice and staff were pleasant, welcoming and efficient.
Belinda welcomed us & was so lovely , we had a great meal 100% recommend. Leon gave us amazing service throughout our meal as well, thank you.
Visited a a lovely sunny saturday. We sat inside but there is a gorgeous little outdoor seating area and a couple of pods up for grabs if you get there early enough. It was busy by 11.30 - they do brunch, it makes sense. Inside was beautifully decorated, comfy seating, cute little cushions on the bench seating at the back! Very relaxed atmosphere. Attentive staff, could not do enough for us, when we ordered a few smaller dishes to share between our table, the man dealing with our table brought out 3 smaller plates so we could do so. The pancake stack was delicious, freshly made pancakes and a whole heap of fruit and cream! I would recommend the chicken and sesame dumplings and the halloumi fries We did order the loaded fries too, they tasted lovely but the portion size was slightly disappointing. The soft drinks prices were steep - over 3 quid considering it was a 330ml can of coke/diet coke (although I think everywhere is the same now, no cheap soft drinks anymore 🤣) The cocktails were fairly reasonably priced though.. and tasty! Even once we had paid the bill, we had drinks to finish and there was no pressure to vacate the table immediately. Easy to find, easy to spend a whole afternoon there. Would recommend!
Came here for my birthday breakfast. The best breakfast I have ever had. I am vegetarian so it is hard sometimes to get a nice breakfast, however, the one in Bills was absolutely spot on! I would recommend this place to everyone! Beautiful decor. Lovely staff. Amazing food! Keep good work everyone! Well done
We went there for my birthday and we got a very tasty meal, and they also gave me a free birthday dessert with a candle without us even asking! Our waiter was very nice - her name was Chantell. I really liked this restaurant and I would definitely recommend it.
Place has elegant decorate and quite a nice vibe. For foods, We ordered a sirloin steak and a seafood linguine. The steak look a bit over cook but the taste is still good.Seafood linguini actually surprised me how tasty. The source of that not only tomato, chef use the lobster soup for basic with the nice ingredients. It’s made totally perfect. We also had some tea for drink, they were pretty good. Staff were nice. I had a great experience here. Highly recommended!
Been multiple times over the years and always have a really nice time, service is friendly and food is good, we went recently for the Christmas meal and despite being busy the service was excellent and the food didn't disappoint.
Lovely place. They have a good quantity of nice options to choose. The presentation of the food is good with prices running around 8-13£, they have also a day menu. Don't spect a fast food service, you will not come here to that. Waiters are really nice and friendly and the place is nice to come with a small group of friends, family or your partner.
Restaurant is cozy and we always feel really comfy there. Even due all restrictions in place is great place to visit. It wasn’t really busy on our last visit what was good to have nice and lovely meal. Staff is really friendly and experienced. Restaurant is clean and tidy with perfect decor. Meals was really delicious. I have enjoyed slow cooked rib with mash potatoes and red wine sauce. Meat was nice tender and juicy compliment all component on plate. My Mrs had chicken burger and chips. As desert we went for salted caramel chocolate tart with coconut ice cream and crumble. Are meals was really delicious and great to eat. I can’t wear for my next visit in Bill’s.
What an incredible first visit! The food was unreal, and the venue had such nice decor – you really get great value for your money. Everything from the drinks to the service was spot on, and I can't fault a thing. I'm definitely coming back! If you're looking for a fab dining experience, look no further.
Our time at Bills was great, we had a lovely service by Leon who was very attentive and made our time memorable. All the food was delicious and brought out to us in a great manner and timely fashion. I would definitely recommend.
Considering it was an extremely busy Saturday night, the service we received was exceptional. Despite coming at a peak time, we were calmly and warmly welcomed, and seen to right away with a cozy table in the outdoor heated seating area. We were even given blankets which was a wonderful and thoughtful touch. (The lady in the silver dress, who I assume was the manager) went over and above to make us feel comfortable, particularly myself as a celiac. The range of gluten free options for myself was impressive, it was nice to be given alternative breads/versions of meals, I felt included and far from a burden. The menu in general however was also amazing, and when the food arrived we were more than satisfied, it was delicious. The atmosphere also was very christmassy, a beautiful place to dine, would highly reccommend.
Such a warm welcome from Belinda, who made sure we got a table for lunch on a busy Saturday. Nice atmosphere, the food was delicious, and the staff very lovely and accommodating, offering a variety of great gluten free options safe for a coeliac like me. No problem to have things double-checked with the kitchen, and service was both prompt and friendly. Thank you, Belinda and colleagues!
This is only our 2nd visit to this venue in the same month and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food was stunning the staff amazing and the atmosphere was electric. I would like to thank Belinda for her warm and inviting manner and her attention to the customers she is clearly passionate about great customer service which she delivers effortlessly. Belinda also recognised us from our last visits 3 weeks ago which is incredible given the footfall and amount of covers achieved in that time. Cannot wait to return. I can highly recommend the chicken wings. The Prawn cocktail , Strickland duck and haloumi fries
Lovely decor inside, cosy feel with dimmed lighting but not dark (so you can see your food!) All servers were lovely and nothing we asked for was too much. Bit of a trek to the toilets , up quite a few stairs. Consider if you are less able bodied. Food was very good, would recommend and definitely go back
My first time visiting this place, and I was so impressed at the high quality service we received. Our server, Chentel was extremely attentive, patient and made us feel so welcome! Really personable, and just absolutely lovely. The rest of the team were also fantastic. It was very busy at the time and noticed how everyone worked together so seamlessly. All very polite and highly professional. We genuinely had such a delightful experience, and we will be recommending this gem to all of our friends. Thank you so much.
Went to bills last night around 5pm. The place was buzzing and the welcome was warm. Our just, Belinda, looked after us from the minute we arrived and the service was great. I had the chicken Shawarma with fries, which was delicious. My wife had mac n cheese with brisket which was also amazing. Our friends had burgers, one is a burger connoisseur, and stated they were the best burgers they ever had. On leaving, the bill was good value Anne’s we were given 2for1 vouchers to use in January. We will definitely visit Bills again and highly recommend a visit.
Superstar Service for Our Pre-Theatre Dinner! We visited Bill's on Friday evening for a pre-theatre dinner and had a great experience, largely thanks to our waitress, Adele. She was an absolute superstar and truly made the evening—easily a 10/10 for service. Adele was attentive and proactive in dealing with dietary requirements, and she showed understanding and patience with my sister, who has a disability. She is a credit to the Bill's team. The food itself is what you'd expect for a high-turnover spot like this, but it was very tasty, fresh, and served quickly. It hit the spot perfectly for a quick and satisfying meal before a show. While the food is good, the exceptional service we received, especially Adele’s attention to detail and care, is the reason we would certainly go back. Highly recommend!
Fabulous atmosphere. Chantel was a brilliant server. She was very attentive , thoughtful, professional and friendly. She made our visit amazing. We will definitely be coming back soon .
I really like Bills as the menu suits the health concious and other more regular fast food diets. The venue looks lovely. Staff were not the most attentive and it was not busy. Food was delicious ... De caf coffee too bitter for me but others may like it. Atmosphere was a bit lacking. Great place for a group of friends who want different types of food. Lots of space. Lovely outdoor space for the warmer weather. Use blue light card and appreciated the discount to carers.
I had an absolutely brilliant experience! The food was top-notch, especially the truffle fries—they were bursting with flavour and the presentation was spot on. The service from Belinda was impeccable, making me feel truly valued throughout my visit. Not to mention, the atmosphere was just perfect for a relaxed evening out. I left feeling really happy and can't wait to come back for more!
Bill’s Spinningfields is a pleasant, reliable spot if you’re looking for somewhere comfortable and easy-going in the area. The decor and interior are nicely done, warm and modern without trying too hard, and the overall atmosphere is good. It feels relaxed and welcoming, making it suitable for a casual catch-up or an unhurried meal. Service was alright. Friendly enough, but it could definitely be more prompt. Nothing went seriously wrong, just a bit slow at times, which slightly took away from the flow of the meal. Food-wise, there were some clear positives. The pancakes were great, served warm, fluffy, and properly satisfying. Easily one of the better items we had and something I’d happily order again. The soup was also delicious, comforting and well seasoned, a solid choice especially on a cooler day. The wings were fine, nothing offensive but also nothing particularly memorable. They did the job, but didn’t really stand out. The English breakfast was fairly standard, but to be fair, it was better than many of the regular ones you find around the city. Well cooked, decent portions, and no major complaints. Overall, Bill’s Spinningfields offers a nice environment with dependable food. It’s not trying to be groundbreaking, but it does enough right to make it a comfortable, safe choice. With slightly sharper service, the experience would be even better.
Bill’s in Manchester is a super pretty restaurant. The interior is always really nice and unique, and it’s a welcome addition to Spinningfields. It feels kind of like entering a premium jungle — super cool! There is a separate gluten-free menu here. I really like their brunch selection; however, I do find their dinner section could require improvement, as there aren’t too many dishes I’d regularly go for. Food quality is usually good. My favourite dishes include the brunch steak and eggs — the eggs taste high-quality and free-range, the steak is juicy and tasty, and the fries are crispy. The gluten-free pancakes are also really tasty, thick, and filling, and it’s rare you find this on the menu. Be sure to check out their regular promotions on the pancakes, as they include gluten-free! From their dinner menu, the fish pie is always a good choice. The staff here are lovely, and the service is great. I usually disagree with adding service charges onto the bill, but the staff here always justify that they deserve it.
I visited Bill’s Spinningfields to celebrate my birthday with friends, and we had such a lovely time. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the food was fab. We all enjoyed our starters, and for our mains my friend and I had the rib tray — the corn ribs were delicious, we were still talking about them the next day! My other friend had the steak from the set menu, which was cooked a little more than they’d have liked, but we all especially enjoyed my complimentary bottle of Prosecco. What really made the evening special was the service. Every member of staff was friendly and attentive, and I want to give a special mention to Katerina, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was so attentive, kind, and made us feel genuinely looked after from start to finish. She catered to our requests and showed a real interest, which made all the difference. It’s rare to experience personalised service as well as good food, and Katerina and the team ensured just that. Thank you for making a low-key birthday meal feel so personal and special.
The service was very good and the atmosphere but the pancakes were too dense and heavy for our taste.
Came here for a meal and catch up with friends. We shared a bottle of wine between us and had some cocktails as well. The food was nice. We had a mixture of mains sides and dessert. The restaurant was quite quiet for a Saturday night, but it was a lovely day so think people were more interested in drinking that eating out. Overall it was nice. I had the vegan burger and a side of veg. My friends had steak and chicken shawarma
Seated quickly, Coffee good, Food delicious, Eggs Royal with salmon perfectly poached.
Food was perfectly ok if not spectacular, pancakes were good. Wouldn't have minded more than one teabag in the pot of tea for £3.46
Food was ok, the Egg Avovado Florentine didn’t have much flavor but the rest was good.
So I went there for their bottomless pancakes because it was pancakes Day and what can I say I really liked the pancakes. The place was vibrant and cozy. You can definitely go with your family there. I will definitely go there for their brunch section that really intrigued me more. The music was good. I wish they just gave us more syrup like on the side so if we want more we can just add to it.. Other than that I will go back again really soon
Summary: a few veggie options. Food mainly very nice. Service really good. Kid friendly. We all enjoyed our mains. My parents were disappointed that their chicken came only with some watercress and no other veg. Having to order a side of veg, imo, is not right if the meal should have really come with veg to complete it. My main was really nice veggie platter style. The service was really friendly and there was just enough room for the pram etc. I would def eat here again.
we went for their special pancake day thing. waitress couldn’t answer simple questions we had about the drinks or dish, and didn’t bother to go ask anyone. it’s fine to not know, but we were a bit upset that she didn’t bother to go check with anyone, or try to compare the size of it to anything around her. it mattered because we were sharing, and something like £6.95 for the portion we did eventually get is very pricey. we ended up having to look up what the dish looked like on Deliveroo to try and get a grasp of it. it was still misleading on there but it gave us more of an idea. she was a young blonde waitress in a uniform. the drinks and pancakes were relatively prompt to arrive. pancakes were gorgeous, very tasty and filling. the reason i say eventually is because it took an hour to arrive. a side dish of loaded hashbrowns. an hour. it took a while to actually catch anyone. and then once we did, it took forever again to get the dish brought to us. i honestly wanted to query paying for them at all, but at that point we’d arrived at 6:30pm and it was 9pm. that’s a very long time for hashbrowns and pancakes. it is wheelchair accessible but be warned it is narrow. they had to move things around for me to manoeuvre between tables. customers had to tuck their chairs in more to enable me to pass. enough that i chose to not go to the toilet because it would be awkward to get past people.
Nice atmosphere and decor, service fine. Menu choices varied. The food let it down . Schnitzel was fine, good sized portion well presented. Thai green curry was tiny, three small pieces of chicken a spoonful of rice for a main meal this was very disappointing, when we complained they took the item off the bil. The fish pie was 1cm deep, dried up, lacking sauce and mash topping, having already complained about the long wait for food and the portion of Thai curry I just bit the bullet and ate it as I was hungry. We actually had to stop at the Christmas markets for food after leaving as two of us were still hungry !
Thai curry had very little flavour & looks like it had been made green by garden peas! The chicken in it was dry & the curry warm. Too dark, yes creates a mood but can't read the menus not see the food. Decor was diff
Three vegetarians ordered the aubergine and mozzarella dish and the ruby salad. The aubergine dish was very poor, swimming in oil, tasteless and had to search to find any trace of mozzarella, the accompanying bread was hard as rock. The salad was equally as unappetising. This isn’t the first time we’ve been to Bill’s, in the past the food has been of good quality but this time we were very disappointed. To top it off adding 12.5% service charge to the bill which we thought extortionate at £50 per person, when they were aware of our disappointment was a bridge too far. Sadly we won’t be going again.
We came earlier and table wasn't ready witch is fine . I understand it's busy but wow the service was shocking glittery manager came over offering a bill before even our deserts came! We had all pre-ordered food. Table was booked 6pm we were offered bill at 7:45. At the payment we were refused cash. Since when we canno pay with national money for our bill. We were moved outside to your so called warm terrace witch's actually smells and it is cold. But you call it warm and nice. Absolutely discrase for your establishment An absolute disappointed. I won't recommend or come back to your restaurant again.
I’ve ordered tropical smoothie but it wasn’t a smoothie 😞 it was like a mango juice from Aldi:)) And cost £5.75 .
Unenjoyable experience. Looks fancy but lacks in every area. We were shoved outside on Christmas Eve into the freezing outdoor area, where you need to be extremely flexible just to get into your seat. We were told the restaurant had overbooked due to a “computer error.” Eventually, they did move us inside, which was vastly better, but once you’re frozen it takes a long time to warm up. However, they could only seat us at a high table and chairs, not great for the 70 year olds in our group. The food service setup is awful — meals are brought from next to the upstairs toilets, through the restaurant and then outside, which is far from ideal. Food took ages to arrive, not very warm either, adding to the frustration. The only positive was that the staff themselves were friendly and clearly did their best under difficult circumstances. Avoid the Thai Green Curry — a very small portion with just a few tiny pieces of chicken, the other food was much better. Overall, a very disappointing experience. We won’t be recommending this place or returning.
