First time dining here today, was in the area and wanted a late lunch. Was greeted by a lovely lady called Emma whose customer service was excellent. We had the starters onion bhaji (not greasy light), aloo tikka amazing and chicken tikka pie also amazing lamb shank Biryani with sauce, it was a generous portion and the meat fell off the bone absolutely delicious.Tandoori Chicken was moist and full of flavour with potatoes salad and side sauce was also amazing. The decor is beautiful, restaurant was clean and smelt wonderful. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning again :) All staff was warm and welcoming service amazing, only negative was we couldn’t leave a tip as we had no cash, and they don’t take the tips on card machine.

First time coming here with my husband and son, my son is a fussy/picky eater yet there was plenty of options for all. Beautiful place, great atmosphere, food...best ive tried by far. Recommend this place so much and I will definitely will be back thats for sure.

Can’t appreciate enough about the amazing experience I had in the restaurant recently on 2nd Jan in the New year. Top notch service by the two girls serving there, food was excellent and the ambience is very cosy and awesome too. I really enjoyed going there and enjoyed the real taste of India. I would recommend anyone who is looking for authentic taste of India by visiting the restaurant.

We had the pleasure of dining at this curry restaurant tonight, and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The service was exceptional — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. The food was full of rich, layered flavours that clearly reflect both skill and passion in the kitchen. Every dish was beautifully presented and bursting with taste — truly some of the best curry we’ve had. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere that made our evening feel extra special. The staff were incredibly friendly, making us feel right at home throughout the meal. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Dining at Moksha was a fantastic experience. Manager rishiv ensured everything ran smoothly and made us feel truly welcome with his professionalism and care. Our server, yushi, was brilliant, offering thoughtful food and drink recommendations that were absolutely spot on. The dishes were flavorful, authentic, and beautifully presented. Exceptional service and warm hospitality made the evening memorable, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended for anyone seeking quality dining.

Went for the bottomless brunch, the cocktails tasted and looked incredible. Portions were great and the food tasted amazing, we will definitely be back. Server Isabel was very attentive and made our experience even better.

Our first time here and it was just lovely. We ordered from the early bird menu - it was excellent value for three courses and sundries included. The amritsari fish starter was cooked just right. The chicken tikka was milder than expected, more like a malai but tender. The curries, although initially we felt not a lot of chicken in the butter chicken, was absolutely ample with all the other dishes you get. I think if you like it spicier, then it might help to ask for the level to be increased. Just ask for 'desi or aapna style'. The dall was lovely and moreish ss were the naan and rice. Desserts were ice-cream and gulab jamun which were just right to end the dinner. My moksha cup mocktail was great! The ambience and aesthetics are of a high quality such as Molton Brown hand-wash /lotion in the bathrooms. The violinist playing throughout the evening was a lovely touch. The service was really good and efficient. There were a lot of staff when we entered but the place got busy quickly and you could see why. All the staff were friendly and helpful. A super addition to the Tameside area.

We went late on Sunday evening for food so the restaurant was quiet, but there was still a nice ambience. Service was excellent and all the drinks and food came promptly. The butter chicken and cheese stuffed garlic naan were particularly good. We also got to try a couple of the cocktails that are included in the bottomless drinks on Sundays, the Vanilla French martini is 10/10 😍 we’ll be back

What a lovely place! I was pleasantly surprised on entering Moksha with the decor and the welcome of the staff. It is quite opulent inside and I felt very welcome - as a lone traveller it is sometimes awkward eating alone. There were a couple of very slight negatives. I ordered a large Cobra lager which was stale and the gents upstairs seemed to have an issue, an unpleasant smell. I ordered a meat Thali as I am not a big eater and when the food arrived the presentation and smell from the food was delightful. The Thal included rice, a small Naan and a dessert course. My mains were Amritsar Fish, Chicken Tikka Masala and Rara Gosht. I have to say that the fish was nice but not up to the standard of the Masala or Gosht. I haven’t eaten more flavourful dishes in an Indian restaurant ever. Just beautiful. Next, the staff. So friendly, warm and attentive without being over the top, truly excellent. Value for money wise this restaurant again scores top marks, despite the slight issues mentioned above I am looking forward to going back to Moksha in the future, thank you Chef Singh!

Had a lovely evening here, the atmosphere was great, the staff were really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Georgia who waited on us was really helpful and friendly. We had Monkfish Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Lamb Gosht for our mains, all were equally delicious, reasonably priced. Thanks for making our evening enjoyable.

Can't recall the last time I enjoyed such a delicious lunch ! Emma welcomed us both so warmly and gave really relevant advice, menu wise! Nothing was too much trouble for her, but the pinnacle was the food......they need to hang on to the chef that cooked for us today, I ate every bit of my fragrant , beautifully- spiced chicken and my friend relished her lamb dish too! We will definitely be eating here again. Sorry, Emma if we spent too long there....it was 15: 45 when we left..... Folks, get here and enjoy this ambience, cooking, service and ....Best of all, it's right in the middle of Ashton!

Amazing place for my teams Christmas party - decor was beautiful and atmosphere was unbelievable. Service was incredibly attentive, over and above to give a personal service. Catered for all in group, great selection for vegetarians. So great to have this on doorstep as would normally have to travel to Manchester to get anything close to this level of quality for venue & food. Moksha really catered well for a group booking with different dietary requirements and a couple of allergies, made everyone feel special, cannot recommend enough. Already booked another group event, this time bringing family as it really is that good.

8 of ud came here for Christmas day, 2 being children, absolutely fantastic day, food, service and the atmosphere was excellent. Well organised, live singer who was fab. The staff are all lovely and friendly. I also spent my birthday here with 15 people, same again fabulous experience. My children love the food here too. Will definitely be returning.

Was recommended to visit Moksha and I’m so glad we did. The food was SO good! Highly recommend the cheese naan and butter chicken - they go so well together. The actual restaurant is beautifully decorated with amazing vibes. The team were all super friendly and kept on top of the service. 10/10.

We recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Moksha, and it was truly a memorable experience from start to finish. The restaurant was easy to find, with plenty of car parking available, which made our visit completely stress-free. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by a brilliant ambiance — warm, elegant, and perfect for a special occasion like ours. The food was absolutely exceptional. Knowing that the chef is from Punjab, India, we were excited to try the authentic flavors — and we were not disappointed. The Fish Amritsari was perfectly crisp and flavorful, the Dal Makhni was rich and comforting, and the Papadi Chaat was beautifully balanced with just the right mix of sweet and tangy. Every dish reflected true authenticity and attention to detail. A special mention to Ayushi and Sabrina, who were incredibly helpful and made us feel comfortable throughout the evening. Their attentive and friendly service added so much to our celebration. To make our anniversary even more special, they surprised us with complimentary shots and a cake — such a thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated. Overall, we loved our experience at Moksha. Brilliant ambiance, great food, amazing service, and genuine hospitality. We will definitely be visiting again!

Had an amazing dining experience at Moksha Restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious – the Chicken Madras and Chilly Chicken were bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. The mixed grill platter was also a great choice, offering a variety of well-seasoned meats, and the cocktails complemented the meal perfectly. A special shoutout to Rishab for his outstanding service – friendly, attentive, and full of great menu suggestions. Thanks to him, we left with happy hearts and full bellies! He even surprised us with a special mango lassi to wrap up the meal, which was the perfect sweet touch. Highly recommend Moksha for anyone looking for top-notch food and warm, thoughtful service!

Did the thali bottomless brunch and it was fantastic. So much option and the prosecco was lovely. My partner really enjoyed the house Moksha house lager option. I especially rate the paneer makhani and lamb gosht dishes. Will definatly be back to try the Indian Sunday dinner bottomless brunch option. Thank you for the free tequila rose 🌹 😘 xx

What a lovely place , food was lovely, fresh and tasty, great choice and reasonable price , would definitely recommend, we had poppadoms ,chilli paneer , John dory gougons,hakka noodles, chilli chicken, mint nann , all the staff were very attentive, definitely be going again

Maanin and other staff served my friends and I today at Moksha, the service was great and the staff was very kind. The food was top notch too. Would definitely recommend it for a good Indian cuisine.

Fantastic dining experience. The staff are absolutely brilliant, very polite , engaging, efficient and friendly. Had the Tandoori Lamb Chop starter which had been recommended prior to going by friends. Never had chops so big in an Indian restaurant . Cooked to perfection and plenty of meat on them. They were the best I've had anywhere . A straight 10/10. Had the Butter Chicken for mains . Again this was perfect and is getting a 10/10. Our go to place is The Great Kathmandu in Didsbury, this place is on par which says a lot. Our first time here , won't be our last. If you haven't been, give it a try. Start to finish the whole night was great 💙

Absolutely stunning restaurant. The food is elite. I visited Dishoom Kensington at the weekend - also gorgeous food but nothing I’ve had beats the Gosht from Moksha. It is unbelievable.

Food from here is always absolutely bang on. We’ve tried the majority of the menu either sit in or takeaway and it never fails on quality. Special shoutout to Emma who was absolutely delightful to deal with!!! A testament to the business. We will be customers for a long time.

What can I say, fantastic food, great atmosphere and super friendly, attentive staff. The biryani pie was amazing, flavoursome and included plenty of lamb. Lots of veggie options and cocktails were delicious. All together we had an amazing family get together at Moksha, couldn’t have asked for more.

Beautiful restaurant, amazing food best Indian I've been to. Great service as well. Will be back soon to try other dishes on the menu that looked so good but couldn't fault anything we had it was second to none. It's a hidden gem, so glad to have come across this place.

Dined here for the first time tonight. What a great place, very clean and lovely staff who are friendly without making you uncomfortable. Every dish was super tasty starting with the poppadoms and the assorted chutneys, which were delicious. For starter I had the chicken tikka pie ( who knew) with lovely crisp pastry and lightly spiced chicken which was delicious, hubby had salt and.pepper king prawns which were huge and super.tasty in a crisp light batter. Mains were just as good the butter chicken is succulent and a smooth smokey sauce and the lamb rara gosht was the best hubby ever had. Can't recommend this place enough. Really give it a go you won't regret it.

Came here 08/10 for some food on our way from Leeds to a concert in Manchester. It was very quiet in the restaurant at 5pm but it was a Wednesday and it did not affect our opinion of the restaurant at all. Food was cooked to perfection, staff were attentive and very friendly. It is just a shame we live an hour away as this is such a great find. Would highly recommend.

1st time here at moksha and we was not disappointed at all. Staff were super friendly. Most of all though the food was absolutely stunning. We actually felt like we were in a Michelin star restaurant. I absolutely would recommend this to everyone and cant wait to come back and go through the menu, trying it all. 5 star review isn't enough.

Food here was awesome…My experience has not been very nice with Indian food in Manchester, but this restaurant surprised me with the most tasteful delicacies. We tried Chicken Angara Tikka, Butter Chicken, Naan and Lamb Biryani. Nothing disappointed us. Would definitely visit again

The most amazing Indian restaurant, by far the best in Manchester let alone Tameside. The atmosphere is always incredible, the people are so warm and welcoming, the nicest cocktails . It beats all the curry houses in Ashton that use paste/jar sauces , proper fresh Indian curry

The flavors in each dish were perfectly balanced. I was amazed at how well the ingredients complemented each other. We were initially sat at the centre of the room and asked a member if staff if we could sit elsewhere however she needed to ask her manager to get approval, found it strange yet we did sit in our chosen seating area after the staff member confirmed it was ok to move.

All items in the veg thali were delicious. Great idea to allow choices for curries. To nitpick, rice and naan were not proportionate with the curries, and the paneer makhani was way too sweet.

Went for a Friday lunch after reading a lot of positive reviews. Was very quiet but good welcome and our selection of any table. Had a couple of cocktails and ordered the lunchtime Thali with a couple of extra dishes. Food was very good, not exceptional but high quality. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend, would return.

We went by Saturday 5:30pm for our reservation of 6.Really lovely atmosphere & quiet at the time which was perfect for us.We enjoyed the food but found the service fairly slow.We also found one of the waiter’s to be quite rude. He missed off a dish so it didn’t arrive until after mains had been served - was meant to be as starter - we told him it’s been missed.Also had an ear peice in & seemed distracted. He said we didn’t place an order for the dish & he had repeated the order (he hadn’t).I was doing a take out too for us for one item. It took a while for them to grab the take out menu for us & the £10 prawns were over priced for takeout. There were 4 prawns & not much else in the box. The food was tasty & lovely setting - just need to work on their customer experience as it’s marketed as ‘ultimate dining experiance’. The shahi tukda dessert also had a very strange taste to it & was served cold. I can’t remember if it’s mentioned on menu whether it’s served cold but it’s usually served warm as it’s a type of bread & butter pudding. Overall a good experience but area for improvement as always.

Expensive, small portions, not enough spice, you have to tell them but nice place, great service. Dishes lacked meat ie mixed grill was 5 medium pieces which includes a prawn and a piece of paneer. Main fish curry had 2 bit of fish and lamb had 6 small cubes 1cm of lamb. But lots of gravy. Naan was ok size.

Ordered via just eat this evening and after over an hour, still no driver assigned. Rang the restaurant and they said that the food was ready and waiting to be collected by a driver, however no apology or any responsibility taken. Please do not use an external delivery company, if you know they’re unreliable, which then reflects badly on yourselves. To top of it off, the food came 1 hour 40 minutes after ordering. It was freezing. I was then horrified to see the chicken was pink and slimy inside (photos attached). Inedible food, freezing and not cooked. £34 spent, absolutely shocking.

Ordered a delivery for me and my partner and neither of us could eat any of it. The curry was watered down and tasted horrid. The rice was cold. The chips soggy, cheese stuffed naan no taste poppadoms are small like a crisp packet portion. That disgusting the mrs has run off to the chippy. £30 down the bin. Honestly been the worst curry I've had in years and I've had a few bad ones. I don't usually review food but I just had to on this one. Feel like it was all yesterday's stuff. Half a star for the fancy bag and the fast delivery..
