Wow, wow, what a find. I have just had one of the tastiest meal I've had in ages. Everything about this place was quality. The service, food, atmosphere. It had it all. I can't wait to come back. To finish the meal I had the honeycomb icecream. Bloody delicious 😋
Visited for our Wedding Anniversary lunch. Absolutely superb food, service and ambience. We have to mention front of house staff Clara and Fran and Chefs Jay, Toby and Nesta who all took such good care of us. Fran's Limoncello was a great finale to our visit, despite Clara's warnings!!! Thanks everybody and see you again soon.
From start to finish Wreck is a place not to pass by, the staff and ambience was excellent! But when it comes to the food …. well absolutely fantastic our Sunday roast was faultless Richard had an extra side of roasties because they were the best!
Lovely place for breakfast. Both our breakfasts were delicious and beautifully presented: N'duja beans on toast with fried egg & field mushrooms on toast with poached. And we both had a side order of bacon 🥓. Served quickly but we weren't rushed in any way. Great music too this morning! Thank you 🤩
This was a really memorable lunch. Popped in for an early Sunday Roast, we hadn't booked but were given a table with plenty of time to eat before the next booking The service was warm, attentive and a lovely team at the restaurant The background music and ambience were spot on The food, was absolutely delicious I had the crab cake (perfect, all crab and well seasoned), the egg cooked perfectly, curry mayo sublime and the raisins and almonds a really nice touch. The Roast Beef was cooked perfectly, if I had to say anything it would be the roasties could have been a wee bit hotter, but that's all. Everything was cooked to perfection, the vegetables were crunchy, well seasoned and delicious Only one of us made it to pudding (honeycomb ice cream) just gorgeous (of course we all tried it!) We had to wait for coffee and didn't even realise we had waited, the lady serving our table took the coffee off the bill, despite us protesting twice not to, as they didn't think it was a suitable time to wait, we didn't care and it wasn't necessary, but it shows how much they clearly care about their customers. An amazing place, can't recommend it highly enough. Hope to make it back to Liverpool and here again soon!
What an outstanding meal. Simple food cooked really well. Everything was brilliant but the vanilla and coconut rice pudding - oh my god! Top service too. All for £37. Brilliant value.
Best brekkie in town - super relaxed atmosphere. Staff are always so friendly, sausage butty is a fave but here I ventured into the full brekkie option. What a good restaurant should be, evening meals are absolutely out of this world too, some pics attached
Been meaning to go here for a while! We had lunch for my husbands birthday! Couldn’t fault the food, whatever we ordered was delicious! We had the 3 course menu with focaccia for the table - for starters we ordered the pork belly and arancini, both dishes really good! For main we ordered the duck leg and feather blade beef! Both dishes looked and tasted lovely ! For desserts we had crème brûlée and honeycomb icecream - both tasty! Staff was nice and friendly They have seating downstairs too!
It was a nicely cozy restaurant. The presentation of each dish is good and of course it was delicious. 🤤
Been here before for dinner but just needed to jump on quickly to rave about the breakfast I had here earlier. Drinks: The coffee is reallly good. Food: Had the full wreckfish (basically an F.E.), and it was poppin-aff! All the ingredients were spot on. I normally judge a place's full english on how they do the tomato and this was pwoper tasty - cooked and seasoned perfectly. The bacon was perfect too. I didn't have the black pudding - because NO, but my mate said his was sound. Done meself over here now as craving it again on the reminisce. Service: Got served by some girl I think she was the manager. Clocked her working all the other covers and she was great. Solid 10/10 Wreckfish. Is right. TLDR: chiggity check yourself in next time your in town for breakfast and full wreckfish yoself.
Tiggy and her colleagues were really good to us and always had our backs. Great food, great vibe — everything was perfect. Super kind staff. «مرسی تیگی» Merci Tiggy
On our first day in Liverpool, we stumbled upon this beautiful restaurant, captivated by the inviting atmosphere and incredible aromas wafting through the windows. Though they were fully booked, we made a reservation for later in the week—and it was worth the wait! The food was outstanding, with reasonably priced 2- and 3-course options. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the salsify, Brie, crispy chips, cod, and duck. The drink menu had something for everyone, from wine and cocktails to refreshing mocktails. The service was impeccable, and the whole experience made for a truly memorable meal. We can’t wait to come back!
Really solid bistro food with a decent wine list. The main menu is a little expensive for the standard of cooking but the bistro menu is very reasonable and should have enough options for a small party. Service was warm and efficient and the space is attractive.
Extremely good. As Foodies , an absolute find! You don't often find somewhere as good as this. Has it all . Tnank you
Lovely little bistro. We came on a Sunday night and had great 3 course meal! All excellent food. Attentive service and a nice atmosphere. We were upstairs and downstairs looked very different but seemed like a nice place to eat too. All the food was very fresh. I had the confit duck and it had a crunchy outside but was lovely and soft inside. We had the focaccia before the starters and although I thought it was going to be too much, it was light and had the perfect balance of seasoning. All 3 courses were great. I had a crème brûlée but my partner had the honeycomb ice cream and I was a little jealous because I had a bit of the honeycomb and it was really light and delicious. The crème brûlée was delicious too though! Very satisfying cracking the top and not as rich as I thought. Would 100% recommend! Excellent cocktails too
The food was absolutely delicious and the experience was worthy of a Michelin star. This was genuinely the best restaurant I had been to in both Liverpool and Manchester by some distance. I would highly recommend going as it is extremely good value.
Looking for somewhere new to eat this week and came across this fantastic looking bistro in Seel Street, down near the new Vignette/HIE that recently opened. Situated in an historic building, the vibe inside is early-2000s – think lots of bare brick, stripped wood and subway tile. Sort of like a cool and trendy New York warehouse apartment vibe. Still a good look even now. Style. Didn’t have a reservation but managed to get a table for two anyway on a Wednesday night (6:40, just after the ‘bistro’ menu ends) – a nice table as well. Window seat. Watch the people. Service was great, very attentive and the place had a great feel – very chilled. The kitchen is partially open, so you can see the attention paid to each meal. A lot of choice on the menu, which is seasonal – went for the chicken liver parfait (beautiful chutney, crunchy bread and smooth, smooth, pate 😊), followed by the schnitzel (caution – this contains a bone – but wow, that topper was superb – such delicate spice). Side of the truffle chips to accompany the main – these were seriously chunky, more like roast potatoes in stature than the chips of olde. Crunchy and fluffy inside. Superb first two courses – a lot of effort has gone into these. Dessert was the sticky toffee pud, of course. Alas, no custard option (the world has forsaken custard, it seems), but there was a rich sauce and ice cream. The menu is a fixed price – two courses for £43 or three for £49 – good value for high quality food. The seasonal menu apparently changes quarterly, so this was the end of days for the spring menu and next week they change to summer; in the same way as the sands of time fall through the hourglass, so it ever was. Nothing last forever and all things must change. I will try to come back in a couple of months and try the next menu. The beer was a craft can – Siren Pils Pastel lager. This was decent and served in a nice glass. You never know with craft beers – some can be a bit odd – a hit here though. Restaurant appears to be tiny when you first enter – do not be fooled, there is a large downstairs with a plethora of tables of different size – this was closed during my visit, but presumably opens at weekends, public holidays and other busy periods. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area – I see they also do very nice-looking breakfasts. Only a short walk from Liverpool Central if you’ve ridden the rails, with a car park opposite for the drivers. Lower price fixed menu available at lunchtime and early evenings may appeal if you’re doing a bit of shopping or sightseeing in the city.
Simply cannot be beaten if you want a quality lunch at competitive prices with fast, efficient, friendly service. They even have an excellent collaborative Session IPA - Ladysmith.
What a lovely restaurant in the heart of Liverpool. The food was excellent and you can see straight into the kitchen and watch the chefs prepare you food. The Wreckfish (like the name of the restaurant is great) and the butternut squash is a must! Would highly recommend, a great experience
Early evening deal even on a Saturday £33 for 2 wow courses .. worth every penny.. our 2nd visit in 2 weeks
Superb evening and amazing place really enjoyed 😉
Amazing food and service. Separate Gluten free menu with a lot of choice. Friendly staff.
Wreck Bistro in Liverpool exceeded all expectations during our recent dining experience. The Bistro Menu offered a perfect blend of sophistication without pretension, creating a fabulous atmosphere for an enjoyable evening with friends. The service was not only prompt but remarkably efficient, adding to the overall positive impression. The culinary journey began with the starters, where the Rosemary and thyme focaccia with olive oil and sea salt set the stage with its aromatic and savory notes. The Tutto fa Brodo (Curried Parsnip Soup) was a revelation of warmth and spice, while the Arancini with cauliflower and Parmesan, complemented by charred spring onion dressing, displayed a harmonious marriage of flavors and textures. Moving on to the mains, the Wild boar sausage with fennel tomato & chilli rigatoni, adorned with lemon and thyme pangrattato, was a standout dish. The robust and well-balanced flavors of the sausage combined seamlessly with the tangy tomato and hint of chili, creating a memorable palate experience. The sides elevated the meal to a new level of indulgence. Truffle Parmesan chips were a decadent treat, perfectly balancing the earthy truffle with the rich Parmesan. The Long-stem broccoli with extra virgin olive oil and lemon provided a refreshing and zesty contrast, enhancing the overall dining experience. Desserts concluded the evening on a sweet note. The honeycomb ice cream delivered a delightful crunch and sweetness, while the Lemon panna cotta with rose syrup and pistachio offered a sophisticated blend of citrus and floral notes, leaving a lasting impression. Considering other online reviews for Wreck Bistro in Liverpool, it's clear that this establishment consistently delights patrons with its exceptional service and culinary prowess. My experience aligns seamlessly with the positive feedback, confirming Wreck Bistro as a premier dining destination in Liverpool, where every dish is crafted to perfection, and the overall experience is nothing short of five-star excellence.
Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. Really wonderful staff. I eat vegetarian at home but usually eat fish or meat when out due to the dishes sounding for appealing. However the vegetarian offering was so good I didn't even think about ordering a fully vegetarian meal. Can not recommend enough.
An Evening meal Liverpool. An unplanned visit. Whilst in a bar,we were asked where we were staying. "On seel Street."So you're next to Wreck." "Are we?" We must have walked past it at least four times when taking our dogs for a walk and not seen it. Why? Because it's covered in scaffolding. We managed to find the entrance and made a last-minute booking and returned once we took our dogs back to the hotel as they were not allowed inside. Wreck serves simple, straightforward, bistro food at lunch and dinner, seven days a week, plus breakfast at the weekends. Set within the Ropewalks area of Liverpool City Centre, it features an open kitchen and dining over two floors. As we'd dined out at lunchtime, we didn't go overboard and chose a couple of starters. Madeira-braised pig's cheek. Gin-cured sea trout. These were both simple but delicious. For Mains Halibut fillet, pak choi, crispy enoki mushrooms, black noodles caramelised celeriac broth, toasted nori. This was very tasty and could be described as a ramen. Chicken schnitzel with a shawarma spiced butter apricot. pickled green chilli and toasted almonds. white cabbage and onion salad, yoghut. We didn't order sides or a dessert as we're not gluttons. Although we were very tempted as it's extremely good value at £42 for two courses or £48 for three courses. We'll demolish the rest of the menu another time as we loved our visit to Liverpool. Service was smiley, friendly, and helpful. We're ashamed to say this was our first visit to any of the Elite Bistro venues, mainly because we haven't ventured to this neck of the woods for a long time. It certainly won't be the last. That's a sure bet,Gary Usher.
After a day of working fro home, I closed the laptop, jumped into the roadster and drove along the M62 to Liverpool for dinner. I booked online for 7.15pm at Wreck Bistro. I arrived at the restaurant a little early at just before 7pm but the team were extremely welcoming and sat me down. The space is well formed, not small but intimate and I reckon about 28-covers. The atmosphere was great; music playlist was on point, the ambience in the room was balanced, lighting was just right for the time of night, and the temperature was cosy when looking out on a wet and cold Liverpool night The place started to fill up shortly after I arrived and there was a good crowd for a wintry Tuesday night. A nice size for a bistro in my opinion. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu, and able to advise on good matches between the courses. Dinner was divine. A bargain at just under £75 for an appetizer, three courses, a bottle of still water, glass of wine, and a flat white. My favourite dish was the appetizer of Medjool dates wrapped in bacon... I'll be trying that at home. Menu below. Medjool dates wrapped in smoked bacon, roasted with honey. Truffled Jerusalem artichoke, and Welsh rarebit on brioche toast; pear and horseradish relish. Slow-braised venison; venison sausage, celeriac puree, smoked bacon, baby onions and parsley. Elite Bistros Christmas pudding; brandy sauce, orange marmalade. An enjoyable Tuesday night out.
The food and service in this place is easily some of the best in the city at a modest price. Hayley (apologies if I spelt this wrong) and Dean were our waitress/waiters and they were great! Full of that great Scouse energy and Hayley’s food recommendations were spot on, she’s amazing! Keep hold of her! The Lamb Terrine was just amazing, the Pork Loin was tender and cooked to perfection and my Cod Loin was pan seared to perfection. The Truffle Parmesan chips are 👌🏽👌🏽 I’d of been happy paying over well over £100 for our meal last night and it’s the same in the amazing Pinion restaurant in my home town or Prescot. The staff are so accommodating and welcoming and they really will try and cater to anything you need. If it’s possible! Honestly I think the Elite Bistro chain of restaurants offer the best priced amazing food across the North West.
The visit to the restaurant Wreck was a real success. The food was excellent and the atmosphere in the restaurant was really convincing. The wine selection is also a joy. Even good wines can be ordered and consumed by the glass. All the staff was really friendly.
Beautiful food. Wasn't too over crowded. Spacious. Food was amazing. We all got Sunday beef roast. The share platter was great value. Perfect afternoon.
Really lovely chilled breakfast at Wreckfish this weekend..glad to see it back! We had the waffles and bacon with maple syrup on the side, the sausage McMuffin and baked eggs. All fabulous!
First time eating here. Food was delicious, staff were friendly and attentive. On the pricier side but perfect for a special occasion.
My partner and I had some breakfast here and it was lovely! I had the avocado on toast with poached eggs and was really nice. The price wasn't too bad and the staff were lovely.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating my partners birthday. From start to finish the experience was faultless, extremely attentive and delicious food. We will be recommending to family/friends and will definitely revisit when we're back in Liverpool. Thank you for a special evening!
We had the breakfast sandwich and the Wreck-fast. Builders tea and decaf tea, and a Bloody Mary. Builders tea pot with 2 bags so it was good and strong 👍 Tea pots and milk jugs that didn't drip everywhere 🙌 Bloody Mary with a good kick 👍 Breakfast may be a bit pricier than other places but you're paying for quality. Excellent staff too. Well definitely return.
Craved a Sunday Lunch whilst visiting from London. Really chilled upstairs with lots on natural light and downstairs seating had a cool, dimly lit, cosy feel. Salmon & Orange starter with Beef Roast for main. The beef was cooked perfectly with every element delicious, definitely add the carrots! Only negative was that we were too full for desert. The staff were lovely, attentive and relaxed which made for a great atmosphere.
Warm and friendly restaurant with delicious food. The staff are excellent, our order for mains was lost so there was a bit of a wait between the starter and main course which wasn’t an issue for us but the servers were very apologetic and made sure we were ok. Couldn’t ask for better service.
Had a Sunday roast beef here and it was absolutely divine. Every element of the food was fantastic. Roast beef was cooked perfectly and the trimmings were fab. The service was also really good, very attentive staff.
Absolutely fabulous place Went yesterday and had the taster menu which was outstanding Great food , cooked to perfection Highly recommended Staff are wonderful too
Went in for a breakfast, and it was really, really good. All the ingredients were so good and tasteful, I just skipped the red and brown sauce and enjoyed the flavours. An amazing cooked breakfast!
Enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal last night, the atmosphere was just right, the staff were friendly and attentive but not over the top, the food was brought out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious and the presentation was like eating in a Michelin starred restaurant , will 10000% be returning.
We held a celebration dinner in the private dining area for my husbands 70th birthday. From the moment I booked the event, the staff could not have been more helpful. The meal for eleven people was amazing. Varied menu and wine choices and food was fantastic quality, with every course beautifully presented. Service was impeccable throughout the evening. Huge thanks to Julie and the team for making our evening very special.
Me and my boyfriend regularly come to wreck. The food is always brilliant but especially tonight. The service is always great however tonight we had the pleasure of being served by Tiggy. She is such a credit and asset to Wreck
Post-Christmas family meal. Beautifully presented food and every dish was incredible. The staff were friendly, professional and made us feel really welcome. Having never been before, our first experience of dining at Wreck was 5-star. Highly recommend.
Two-story bistro near the city center, with quick and friendly service. The menu is relatively small yet all delicious, very varied. Portions were larger than we expected, but all of them worth it. Had a great time and a delicious meal!
What a restaurant! The food was incredible, the place is beautiful and love that you can see the kitchen from most of the tables. We had the schnitzel (omg!) truffle fries and the honeycomb dessert which was heaven. The orangecello cocktail was like spring in a glass. Service lacked a bit (having to get their attention) and only one (shared toilet) which is the disabled toilet which isn’t ideal. But this won’t deter me from coming back.
I had a small set of Sunday lunch (2 courses), food was great. Staffs are friendly and the place is cozy.
I want this place to be the best breakfast spot in libpool.. vibes are good in there. Unfortunately its kind of embarrassing for them how small the portion size is for the salmon scrambo on toast. 1 small piece of toast and with half egg half salmon. I'm not the type of person to mention as they probs know its a p***-take.. improve or go to Minna
Lovely atmosphere and super friendly staff! The mains and sides were absolutely delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed them, but the starters were a little more hit and miss. The liver parfait and goats cheese were very tasty and a decent size, but the crab cake, although very tasty, was very small and the risotto was lacking flavour.
Booked a table for Sunday lunch for my birthday. Turned up and was told we could have a Sunday roast but they had no potatoes or Yorkshire puddings because they took a large walk in 15mins before our booked table and ran out 🙃 not great customer service, we get these things can happen, but don't take a load of walk ins when you're low on food and have people who have booked.
Visited for breakfast this morning at about 11am. Nice decor, warm and seat was comfortable although table was a bit small. Waited about 10 minutes before any staff acknowledged I had walked in. Only two other tables in so very quiet. Ordered their full english breakfast and was served in a timely manner. Coffee served in smaller than average sized mug. All items on breakfast were luke warm. Cleanly presented but plate seemed bare. Egg was perfectly cooked and yokey everything else was below average for a full english. VERY PRENTENTIOUS PLATE OF FOOD. Lacked taste, bacon overcooked, black pudding clearly microwaved, one small plum tomatoe (seriously) and beans where cloudy, in general quality of ingrediants used was questionable. For the price (over £20) with coffee was definatley NOT VALUE FOR MONEY. Just seemed like breakfast menu offered just to tick over the take until.the lunch crowd arrived. No check back and staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than taling care of the customers. Overall a 3 out of 10. There are definatley better and less pretentious options available for a breakfast.
