Opinions de Hibiki Sushi & Ramen Liverpool
An authentic, flavourful and amazing place. My second visit to Hibiki. Both times been amazing. Quick service, amazing food with decent selection and so tasty. I'm vegetarian but plenty of tasty food. My colleague had some amazing looking (and tasty) food by his comments and decent value. Highly recommend and only downside is the limited seating space.
We made reservation last minute and it was suppose to be fully booked but bar table was available. As I am pregnant bar table would have been very uncomfortable. They managed to get us a normal table in the end. We could not thank them enough. The food was amazing and the service was top notch. Recommend the mrin beef ramen and tempura.
Been to this restaurant multiple times to try different menu items, and each time I was met with delicious food! The ramen is exceptional and at affordable prices. The beef ramen was soft and the portion size was huge. The seafood broth is amazing too. They also do a great variety of sushi freshly made! It's a great small dining area, the only problem I had was the service to pay took quite a while.
Visited this place twice now. The fish is fresh and the sushi is very well made. This is definitely one of the best sushi restaurants available in Liverpool. The only down side is the size and if you are two people, you tou have to be seated on the stools, which can be quite uncomfortable. Despite that, I will definitely be going back.
Some insanely good sushi! So good. The fish was super fresh, the rice was seasoned perfectly and overall it was seriously delicious. Loads of options so felt like there was something for everyone. The service was really lovely, all the staff were helpful and friendly. There was some bar seats by the sushi station, so was nice to watch the chefs at work (hopefully not too intimidating for them!) The ramen and other menu items look amazing too. I’m actually annoyed I didn’t order the whole menu, so seems like I will just have to plan a trip back! 😜
Lovely experience. We’re looking for a place to eat after our initial choice fell through. Service was fast and friendly and food was even better. Ordered a variety of different things - the mixed sashimi don was super fresh, decent portion of sashimi and it tasted great too! The salmon practically melted in the mouth and the shrimp and scallops were super soft and sweet! Softshell crab was super meaty and fried octopus tasted great too with the mayo, only wish it was a little crisper for the octopus. Chashu ramen was big, noodles had a fair bounce to them and the chashu fat melted in the mouth! Drinks were good too!
I don’t write reviews often, but this place was a pleasant surprise so I’ll share my experience. Wonderful atmosphere, went there with my friend today and the food was fantastic. We ordered sushi and some drinks. Everything was very fresh and delicious. The prices were quite reasonable and the waiter was lovely too. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.
We have been multiple times to hibiki and every time has surpassed our expectations! It has given us the opportunity to try different dishes that would be time consuming to make at home. The fact you can watch them make it at the bar as well is wonderful. We will be going again soon and many more times in the future! Staff are wonderful and attentive, the drinks flow and the food is delectable. I rant about this place every day to my friends!
Had the most pleasant experience here today. The food was absolutely stunning, full of flavour, takoyaki arrived hot, presented beautifully and was the best takoyaki I have ever tasted. Both waiters were kind and attentive throughout and offered recommendations which were superb. A delightful meal, I will be back soon when next visiting the city. Thank you
I have been to Hibiki Sushi & Ramen a few times to try out different meals, and I have not been disappointed. If visiting in a group, I would highly recommend booking ahead as the seating space is a bit small and it gets full very quickly. Sushi is insanely fresh and lovely. They have very good and generous food portions and my meals are always cooked to perfection. The team is nice, friendly, and warm. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in Liverpool.
We randomly found this Japanese restaurant on the map for lunch, and it turned out to be a great choice. The ramen and rice were both delicious, dishes came out quickly, and the service was very friendly. The staff were even kind enough to draw a little picture for my child, which made the experience extra special.
We visited Hibiki Sushi and Ramen two nights in a row during our stay in Liverpool, and it’s easy to see why, we were thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food. The dishes we tried were absolutely delicious. The Chicken Ramen was a standout, with its rich, flavourful chicken broth that was both comforting and well-balanced. The Eel Donburi was equally excellent, perfectly cooked and full of taste. It’s clear that care goes into every dish. One thing we particularly appreciated was the detailed information on the menu about the broths used in their ramen. This made it easy to choose the right option for our preferences, knowing the Chicken Ramen was made with a chicken broth (rather than pork or fish-based) helped us decide confidently, and it did not disappoint. Portion sizes were just right for a satisfying dinner, not too heavy, but certainly filling. Another plus was how easy it was to book a table for six, even on short notice. The staff were accommodating, and the service was smooth both evenings. Overall, Hibiki Sushi and Ramen is a great choice for delicious Japanese cuisine in Liverpool. We’d happily return, in fact, we already did!
My favorite place to take people for sushi. I have brought my best friends, my boyfriend and my mum here it is so nice. The staff are very friendly. The sushi is really tasty too and so is the ramen. The edamame is so so. I really recommend the seared salmon dragon roll. Each time I come I try and order something I've not had before. This place gets busy on weekends, they had a hour wait for a table at lunch so you must book it is worth it. They have a deal on rn till the end of Jan buy 1 get 1 free on the maki. Also note there are no toilets here they share them with the restraunt next door.
Went for lunch between 13:30/14:00 and was very quiet. No wait at all. Small cosy atmosphere with street entrance. Menu is 2 sided, one is dedicated sushi with lots of options and the other is a cooked menu. Went for a coke, chashu ramen and chicken karaage. Coke was nice and cold, got a glass with ice without asking. Short wait, not long at all and the food was served. The ramen broth was fantastic! Extremely rich and flavoursome and the chashu was charred nicely, all the accompanying food seemed fresh and also tasty. The Karaage was sensational! Easily the best I've had, was crisp, hot and the sauce was just the right amount that is didn't overpower the chicken. Finished the lot and enjoyed every bite, will definitely go again and try other things off the menu. Good, reasonable price for the food coming to just over £20 for 2 items and a drink.
We came to Liverpool, like many do, to explore the place where John, Paul, George and Ringo grew up, and one day dreamed of escaping. Not sure if we wanted a small snack, or something a bit more substantial, a place offering Sushi and Ramen seemed like a good destination. There was a first date at the table next to us, and groups of friends around us - the staff were kept busy as patrons rolled through, it seemed like we chose well. For sushi, we got the Salmon Avocado Maki and the Rainbow Dragon Roll, and both disappeared quickly. We also got the Chicken Gyoza and Takoyaki, which were also good. The Karaage Chicken was juicy inside, crispy on the outside and along with the Mixed Vegetable Tempura, which was also light, crisp, and not greasy gave us confidence to extend our time here and move onto a ramen or two. The Chashu Pork Ramen had a satisfying broth that worked to combat the cold evening. The Mirin Beef Ramen had a slightly sweeter, layered flavour profile, hearty but refined. Everyone was very happy with what they ordered and with our decision to brave the cold and come out in search of sustenance. As a group, when we entered, we weren’t even sure if we were going to get dinner. In the end, we almost did a full tour of the menu: sushi, fried bites, steaming bowls and a few drinks. And importantly there was lots of sharing, swapping, and insisting everyone try a bit of each other’s orders. Great variety, generous portions, and the kind of place that makes you want to come back for your favourites and to try the things you couldn’t fit in this time.
The food here is delicious. We came to Liverpool for a night and could not have chosen a better place to eat. The sashimi was incredibly fresh. The service was quick and polite. Prices were the same or less than Yo! Sushi , but the quality was a million times better!
Went there about a month ago while I was in the UK with my family and I’m still thinking about this place. The food, service and really just everything was amazing! It was a busy rainy evening and there wasn’t a big table for us (we were 6 people) and they offered us to wait inside and and not even 5 minutes later a clean table was waiting for us. Every single dish was really yummy. The staff was really kind and just amazing! Can’t wait to come back to the UK and go there!!
Came here for lunch, I've been looking for a nice place for Japanese food for absolutely ages. Ended up having a selection of hand rolls, maki, goyozas, and california rolls, they were all absolutely delicious and arrived in a timely manner. I also had a last minute chicken ramen as well because i kept seeing other people having it and i do love a good ramen. The prices were all very reasonable amd you could tell that everything was freshly made. I was absolutely stuffed by the end. The staff were absolutely lovely, extremely polite and nice to talk to. Il definitely be back for more!
Beautiful sushi made to order. Great bowl of ramen, also made to order. Fresh and clean food, went down way too easily. Good service, good atmosphere.
What an absolutely amazing experience. Me and my friend loved it, I had the crab starter all of it was amazing, for the mains my friend had the misso ramen (VE) and myself had the chefs box. Absolutely amazing. The Japanese culture was wonderful as well. I had a Japanese drink, bit of a struggle to open it but for there in the end lol. Nice and cozy and is such a gem.
Fabulous little restaurant serving great Japanese food. Just a few tables and then some seats at a bar. We just had sushi and it was uniformly excellent. Really excellent value and beautifully presented. Would highly recommend and will definitely come again.
I'm so glad to finally have a proper Japanese restaurant in Liverpool this is by far the best I have ever been to world wide! Staff where lovely each dish was delicious I have never tasted better tempura prawns they where amazing! we will definitely be regulars and ill be reccomending you to all my friends and family. Thank you for a very pleasant experience 😊
My visit to Hibiki was truly delightful. The sushi surpassed my expectations, with each bite a symphony of fresh, flavorful ingredients. The chef's creativity shone through in the unique combinations, making each roll a culinary masterpiece. The attention to presentation elevated the experience, and the attentive staff added a warm touch to the meal. From the inviting ambiance to the impeccable service, Hibiki is a standout choice for sushi lovers seeking a memorable dining experience. In addition to the extraordinary sushi, I couldn't resist trying the Beef Udon Noodle dish and it was a revelation. The savory broth was rich and comforting, with the udon noodles achieving the perfect balance of chewiness. The beef slices were tender and flavorful, adding a hearty dimension to the meal. The meticulous preparation of this non-sushi dish further showcased the culinary prowess of the chefs. It's not just a sushi haven; it's a haven for exceptional Japanese cuisine overall. The Beef Udon Noodle is a must-try, complementing the sushi offerings and adding another layer of culinary excellence to the dining experience. I can't wait to return and explore more of their delectable offerings. Highly recommend for a satisfying and enjoyable culinary journey!
Very cosy experience- food was fantastic.. freshly fried tempura and udon was perfect with the soup, although the charsiu was a little dry Pork tonkatsu was okay Table water gets served in alcoholic bottles - very cool and perfect for aesthetic pictures Would definitely come back to try out the rest of the menu
Food was amazing; Beef ramen. Had to sit right by the door though which was a bit cold when people kept opening the door to come in! Wasn't much of a problem though as I didn't have a reservation and it was the only table not booked. Would definitely visit again but making a reservation is advised.
First visit Liverpool and choose a japanese restaurant for lunch. Nice soup noodle and sushi. must recommend this place to my friend.
I was pretty impressed with most aspects of my meal. I'm always looking for places that serve food as authentic to Japan as I remember. Maki sushi, goma wakame, takoyaki, vegetable gyoza and vegetable tempura were all excellent. The takoyaki particularly was really tasty. My group tried two different ramens and katsu kare. The ramen broth was very tasty and so was the kare sauce. A younger member of my group was very entertained by the Ramune that was on the menu, which is always fun. The only negative point was the serving of green tea. It was bizarrely brought to us in tall glasses, which was obviously too hot to hold without burning ourselves. We were told there were no cups. I don't know whether this was the norm or not, but I hope it changes. It did somewhat spoil the end of the meal and would have been nicer if we'd been served with traditional style ocha cups. Or even just normal cups. I do recommend Hibiki particularly for the takoyaki and tempura, and I think anyone who comes here with some experience of authentic Japanese food would be pretty happy.
Lovely dinner last night!! I definitely recommend booking table in advance, we came around 7 pm, and they told us they are fully booked for the night, but then the waitress found a table for us, but we had to leave before 8 pm. That wasn't a problem for us. The food came so fast, it's made fresh and right in front of you! The rice was so tasty!
I always look forward to the special menu, but I finally got the Bluefin Tuna Belly, the ingredients are very fresh and the taste is superb. The service is very welcoming and the atmosphere is warm. Will come back often
Second visit last night, and it was just as good. I had the mirin beef ramen, gyoza and veg tempura. All was fantastic, and quelled the craving! Staff were friendly and humoured my poor Japanese! The place is always busy, and it’s easy to see why. Wishing them all the best for the future.
We’ve been to this lovely spot two days in a row now!! The service is amazing and the food is even better. My boyfriend absolutely adored the chicken katsu curry. If we lived in Liverpool we would be here every day.
First time I've been to hibiki & it was really good. Had the chicken dumplings, seabass in tempura batter & the chicken ramen. The food was really good & the staff were really nice. Would definitely recommend & will be back very soon.
The portion sizes here were really good and well priced. We went for a date night as were both big fans of Japanese food. There were only a few staff as the place is small. You need to make a reservation due to the restaurant size. And I made one the night of requesting a table. But when we arrived were told because we did not book far enough in advance..(?) we needed to sit at the bar even though according to their booking site there were free reservations for 2 around surrounding out time. Regardless the bar was fine. We had a lovely dinner and will most likely return
Went for lunch, prices reasonable and food is of good quality. Had two servers but one wasn't that great. Had a mix of sushi and ramen and eel donburi. Eel I felt was overly sweet and so had to fully mix the sauce with rice to balance the dish; seafood ramen was good but the prawns hadn't been deveined which you have to do manually, beef rib noodle soup was great!
Sashimi are very fresh and juicy. Suitable for vegans . Variety kind of dishes. Quite busy on the weekends.
The deep-fried tofu was a highlight — really crispy and full of flavour. The katsu, however, didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The rice was a bit on the sticky side, the breadcrumbs on the chicken felt a little greasy, and the curry could have used more flavour. That said, I’d definitely be open to coming back to try other dishes on the menu.
The food was great but when we received the bill from the waitress we were charged £5 each for still water although we had tap water. We questioned the waitress 3 times but she didn't appear apologetic or even corrected the mistake. She even said it was due to inflation. We thought that reason was just ridiculous. We eventually paid for the meal but felt it was wrong so we went back to another waiter and demanded a refund for the 'still water' and thankfully he obliged and refunded the amount by cash. Hopefully, this won't happen to anyone else. I think the manager should talk to the person involved in this incident.
I hate to post this when the food was really good, but they almost charged us £5 for a glass of tap water. I’m sure it was just one poorly trained staff member (other staff were great) but it was a disappointing incident. When we received the receipt we noticed that the water was priced as £5, so we asked if it was a mistake. The said staff member told us that it was because of the “inflation”. It was obviously not a reasonable justification. We tried to swallow it but couldn’t, so we pointed it out again, noting that coke was about £3. However, all she did was shrug and leave our table without a word. Later, we talked to another staff member about it and he immediately gave us the money back in cash. The food was not entirely authentic but great. The overall service wasn’t bad. But the way said employee handled her mistake was very disappointing.
Read the 4.5 star review so decided to go there while in Liverpool. Massively disappointed. The food looked nice at first glimpse but that's about it. I ordered a doburi with mixed sashimi. All of the sashimi was so thin. There were even two pieces that were put together as one. Surely that does not pass the quality control. For the small volume of fish in the dish, there was too much rice. All in all a complete let down with the super thin fish at £18. Now, what about the service? We were the only customers when arrived. No one came to check if we were ready to order for ages until I waved. When I was ready to pay after the meal, I was waving at the two waiters, they were just talking to each other and didn't see. So I walked up and paid where they were. I definitely won't go there again when in Liverpool next.
The ramen was below standard. The soup base was too plain and didn't taste like tonkotsu at all. The boiled egg was nothing like Ajitama Japanese style. The portion was apparently smaller than others. The only good thing was the pork chashu which was tasty.
Firstly, very unpleasant waiter . The waitress was nice. Secondly, the food was not that great- the ramen they are serving never sat nowhere near a ramen. We’ve been to Japan few times and we know what a ramen should taste like. The mirin beef was tough, the broth was watered down and noodles over cooked. The overall vibe very bad, place was a bit dirty and needed more attention. Avoid and don’t waste your money there. There is a halloumi on the menu … this should ring a bell
Went to this restaurant this time and had a terrible experience. I've ordered takeout from this place many times and always had a good impression. But today, I felt misunderstood and disrespected. At first, I wanted to take my friends to try this restaurant, so I ordered takeout on Panda Takeout planning to eat back at the apartment. When we got to the restaurant, the food wasn't ready. Since it was really cold and windy outside, we asked to wait inside in an empty seat without touching any tableware. The staff didn't allow it. Even after we said it was cold outside and there were many empty seats, and showed our dissatisfaction, they still made us wait outside. Thought it was over after getting the food, just an unpleasant service experience. But it wasn't. When we got back to the apartment and opened the takeout, there were no chopsticks, and for four people's meals, there were only four small packets of soy sauce. And the portion was much smaller than before! I don't know if it's because the staff were expressing their dissatisfaction or discriminating against us! And because we had to stand outside in the cold, my friends and I have caught colds to different degrees! I hope you can make improvements and reflect on this!
Unfortunately had the worst Japanese chicken katsu curry rice …over cooked katsu and tasteless curry.. thought curry rice should not go wrong. 😑.. while oyakodon is ok, looks better than taste..
If you want authentic ramen, skip this place. The broth was bland, the noodles soggy, and the chicken tasteless and is nothing like real ramen. I even told the waitress about the bland taste, and her response was just “I don’t know” and she walked away instead of offering salt or anything to improve the taste. Service was unfriendly, and we waited over an hour for our food without any warning. They didn’t inform us beforehand that we would be waiting more 1 hour and 10 minutes, so we could have decided whether to go inside or not. I will not be coming back. Very disappointing. Not recommended.
