Very busy!!, the night of the rugby between Wales and Scotland!! All seats occupied, many people standing!! Great atmosphere, staff were rushed off their feet, must have been tired, but didn't show it. A good night.
Brilliant pub, landlady is amazing and looks after her customers. She doesn’t let ldiots In and gets rid of anyone causing trouble, making sure her customers are safe at all times. I love coming to this place.
Great pub, been a few times recently and the staff are brilliant, good atmosphere and really good prices. We last went on a Friday and they had a band playing who were great.
I have been in-frequently visiting the Griffin for the past 8 years on my visits to Mold from overseas to visit family. In the past couple of years, I’ve seen a noticeable shift in the overall level of cleanliness of the pub, however the toilets in particularly are always very clean. It’s clear that great pride is taken by the owners in the way they present the pub. I’ve always received a warm welcome by the landlady Julie, and some of the regular customers alike. A great local pub, with a true sense of community.
Been here for the past couple of weeks , especially to the Karaoke with the brilliant Tony. Lovely Landlady and staff and made to feel very welcome from the start. Great atmosphere , so get down for a great night out.
Called in here after having a meal a the local chineese. Great pub, with a lively atmosphere, the landlady rememberd us from our last visit just after lockdown. And was very helpful in getting us a taxi home, shame it's not more local to us, as we had a good evening 🙂
An excellent pub in Mold, welcoming locals and lovely staff. Brilliant prices and well kept beers. The staff cannot do enough for you. Best quality large screen TV I have ever sat in front of. A must visit if you're in Mold.
I felt so safe in this pub. From walking in doingtrack and trace. Pub was spotless. Landlady explained the one way system and she made us feel very welcome. Would definitely be visiting here again very soon.
First time visiting on Saturday to watch a live band. Place was heaving, but the landlady and bar staff kept calm and where brilliant. I witnessed the landlady being attacked off a customer, which i thought was disgusting. But the landlady defused the situation and ejected the girl.
Excellent customer service extremely very well organised all Covid measures in place and excellent. The food was fantastic as always second to none. Friendly professional waiter and waitress. Spotlessly clean beautiful decor 5 star xx
Went to watch the football on bank holiday weekend, we played pool and darts afterwards. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
Just had a girlie afternoon and came to the karaoke at the griffin. What an amazing afternoon. It was lovely to see the older generation of our community coming together and reminiscing on the songs from their time. Xx
This pub is my lovely local, me and my partner love coming here! Landlord and staff are amazing and kind! Would definitely recommend!
The live music was nice. Good atmosphere and quick service. .
Funny old school pub serving standard beer. Patrons range from old to very young 😆 it was a laugh for one and they had a band on. Is what it is. A bit old school.
Had a brilliant night last night. Wine, karaoke and lots of fun. Thanks Tracey the landlady. We'll be back. From the Cheeky Girls. X
Top quality service, with the friendliest of staff welcoming you. The added bonus is that they have the cheapest pints in Mold. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
We visited for the first time yesterday after years of passing by. We had a really lovely late Sunday lunch. The food was beautifully cooked & plenty of it. Our server, Ben was very attentive & made sure we didn't have to wait long for our food & the table was prompty cleared. The dining room is really nicely decorated & very clean. We were very impressed with everything at The Griffin & will definitely be recommending it to our friends, family & clients in our business.
Great local pub good beer and a great atmosphere. Will go again if I go back to Mild.
This pub is fantastic, friendly staff and customers also dog friendly, would highly recommend this place for a quiet drink or a fun night out ti ks all the boxes
Brilliant pub and staff the landlady does great charity for the local community and gets the customers involved. Mad as a box of frogs but she’s ace.
The Griffin has come a long way in the last 12 months Tony and Barbara have turned the place round ans is now a great place to be with regular Disco Karaoke on a Friday night
Went in for a couple of pints and a game of pool. Nice place and fair prices.
Great little pub. Frendly staff, good music, good size pool table, and the drinks a good price. = a good night out in one place
Nice little pub that is worth the stroll up the high street. Friendly staff.
Called in for one, stayed for about 3hrs in the afternoon, great atmosphere, beer, spot on, Tracey is very pleasant and helpful. I'll be calling in for one(?) when I'm in Mold again.
Friendly owner lively when we went Wednesday afternoon, reasonable prices for decent beer
A place for everything, pool, darts, and Even a quiz night. Super friendly and so enjoyable to be in. Must stop in

Great town centre pub with friendly staff and a good selection of bers. Large screen for watching football, pool table and games machines. Friendly staff and live music at weekends. Recommended.
Great local pub with music and sports
Good pub. Have a good selection of beers. And most weekends a live band or karaoke.
It's OK to watch a quick game of Football, alone. But will travel further when I have more time. E.G. walk to Witherspoons
Unfortunately a no from me being told because I have a man bag and look young I was not welcome , now I can understand young people with man bags could possibly have drugs etc however providing ID as requested and then having attitude from staff member was not a welcome I wanted never once did i come across rude a simple unfortunately I’m not going to serve you would of been fine and I would of left . As a non local person it wasn’t a nice experience I guess it’s just a local pub and not so welcoming to outsiders but I must say the customers are nice people hence 2 stars . This is just my experience not to say yours might be the same its all down to personal preferences and your experience within the pub .
Bit dodgy
Absolutely awful experience with the people that own this place. The landlord decided to start an argument with me over football in which I was having banta with a friend of a friend and decided to but in. Would absolutely never return here again even though it being my local. I would much rather take my money elsewhere. Extremely rude. I think she just doesn’t like younger people within the pub even though they’re of age. Absolutely disgusting behaviour and I honestly don’t know how she owns a pub.
Being local to the area for many years and having close family members being regulars at this pub the last thing I expected was the welcome we were given, my partner who isn’t local came to visit me where we went for a lovely meal and decided to go meet family at the Griffin. Upon my partner going to get drinks with a family member he was rudely welcomed and discriminated against for wearing a man bag (this isn’t stated anywhere on or outside the premises) and told he could only have one drink and would be closely monitored throughout the night .feeling uncomfortable we only stayed no longer than 45 minutes and he only had ONE drink which we wouldn’t have had only it was a family members purchase. Being a landlord himself back in England he understands the rules and regulations and pays to have SIA licensed doormen to ensure safety of his customers. He provided ID and then told the lady what he had in his bag as she had stated the pub have had troubles previously with drugs hence their reasoning for not allowing people with man bags into the pub .why didn’t she ask myself what I had in my bag as I also had a clutch bag and I feel it’s the same concept.I saw no one else being questioned about their belongings , however I feel this was due to them being locals and feel he was discriminated against. This is very disappointing and upsetting considering this was a favoured pub of most my family.
Came in for a pint after work, didn't happen to have a mask on me so i then bought one from themselves for £1 and put it on, got approached by an absolutely vile staff member who i was then informed was the land lady, she proceeds to raise her voice and shout in front of all her staff and customers about how i didn't see the sign saying about wearing a mask ect, she spoke in a horrible belittling tone perhaps because im not a regular?, i responded saying that there is no need to shout then she told her staff not to serve me, i was polite the whole time, absolute horrible experience, definitely won't come here again. all i wanted was a quiet pint after work .
Mold seemed to close down very early tonight- nowhere open after midnight. The landlady immediately started shouting at us when we arrived saying “go back to where you come from”- entire group from Mold?! Then told us they were offended that we had come because other places in town were closed. Explained we have been here lots of time before but landlady stormed off and closed bar down immediately. Really weird experience. Often go here but won’t bother again. Owners are thick as anything! 😂 Edit to respond Literally didn’t happen and took a month to make up the weak lie of a response- pathetic as you were at the time
Popped in today as I needed to take insulin asa my sugars were low call the bar lady over and ask if I cud use the loo too take it I did have my diabetic card with me she refused said it was for customers only wud never of made it to tge bus station ...I went out side then back in and had to buy a coke ...I used the loo left my drink and came out . Very upset .I actually bought someone a coke yester and sat her down tgen walked her too her taxi ....were the kindness..thanx alot
i came to visit my family in mold, so me and my cousin went for a few drinks in the centre because hes back to the army on tuesday, we started at weatherspoons, lovely service ect, so we left and tried to find another local pub, we walked to the griffin because we heard music and a lively atmosphere, we walked in i asked for 2 pints of moretti, the blonde haired landlady or employee, looked at me and said no! Attitude was discusting, as we had never been to this town for drinks or ever stepped in the griffin, i asked her whats the problem? She replied with, " i dont have to have a reason to not serve you " whilst waving her hand like some power trip, so we left, the mentallity of her was of a sheep, very hostile and unessaray, will not put money into somebodys till so rude, if i was you dont bother unless you like beeing talked down to and beeing embarssed infront of other customers, and we was not drunk or behaving in any type of way silly little girl.
We had booked to watch Wales in the Euro’s. Both of us are mask exempt- we were made to feel very unwelcome as soon as we stepped in- told we NEEDED to show proof of exemption and sign in of the NHS app- both statements are false. Then told we could sit anywhere outside- then this change to 1 table inside (right infront of the bar) I refuse to spend any money in any establishment with such discriminatory behaviour- I will NEVER step foot in there again!
Ok pub but the blonde land lady how she thinks she can take people drinks of them like she did to me on Saturday even thou I'd paid for it is out of order, she really ruined my night definitely would not recommend there for anyone the blonde land lady what a horrible rude land lord she is
Landlady has issues with alcohol herself so not much hope for the place really..I'd liken it to "The Jockey" from Shameless..but a bit rougher around the edges and a lot less classy
I would highly recommend staying away for this pub as you are made to feel very unwelcome by the land lady of the pub especially if your young
The landlord is an absolute lunatic and shouldn’t be allowed to run a pub she needs help, stay away from this crazy woman, plenty more lovely pubs in mold,
Not a good atmosphere in here. Spend your money elsewhere in a better pub with nicer staff.
