Excellent fresh & authentic Vietnamese food. The staff were so attentive and when they over heard us talking about how we were eating there because we were meant to have been going on holiday today to Vietnam, but it had been cancelled because of the Middle East war, they gave us free food. So nice and made our day!
Was pleasantly surprised with the food! If you’re looking for super authentic viet flavors you wont find it here, it’s more of a fusion of south East Asian flavors with heavy peanut flavors like you would find in Malaysia however it all worked really well! We had a fantastic meal and was left satisfied with the whole experience. Particularly loved the beef curry that was very well flavored and the beef was soft and chewy. My wife had the pho which was also decent (they don’t have hoisin sauce though which is a bit of a miss). The papaya salad and spring rolls were also solid (but again the spring rolls came with a peanut sauce rather than fish sauce). Great location with a chill outdoor patio in the middle of castle street. Oh and the juices were made ready to order which also went well with the meal.
Excellent restaurant in the center of Liverpool. The dinner atmosphere was cool - warm lights, good music but not too loud. Staff was quick, polite and nice with the solo foreign traveller I was. Great choice of dishes, even for a vegetarian. I had a pho and prawnless crackers, everything was delicious and in a good amount. Would recommend!
Totally enjoyed our lunch here a couple weeks ago! Service was efficient and quick, staff are welcoming and friendly, vibes was relaxed, food absolutely delicious, generous portions and reasonable prices !! Ideally located as well! Definitely coming back again when we’re back in Liverpool.
We came on a late lunch with my family last Monday the 5th of January 2026 at about 3:30pm, and the Restaurant that time was empty. We we’re welcomed and greeted by a very friendly lady and led us to choose any table by the window. She ask if we dined in at Pho before and explained the Lunch and ala carte menu. We’ve been to Pho all over UK and we are familiar with the food already, however this visit was particularly impressive for me because the lady who welcomed us went beyond my expectations. She was extremely friendly and helpful with every bits of our dining experience. The lunch set comes with fresh juice which she highly recommended because its fresh and healthy. Then she saw me placing my paper napkin on my collar and again she offered me a bib to put around because Im having a Beef brisket noodes soup. Our overall dining experience was great! We love this particular branch of Pho.
Brilliant site and great staff! Uses to frequent the pho in Guildford when the manager was down there and just found she has now moved to the Liverpool Castle Street site which is a very pleasant surprise! Love Pho and this is definitely the best I've ever visited!
On Saturday, our group of nine was warmly greeted by the effusive DONNA who asked what was the occasion. On bring told it was our old school class annual reunion, she immediately gave us two bottles of Prosecco to celebrate. How lovely and kind of her. We had a starter, a main, and drinks. The service was excellent as was the food. A great selection, and explanation of the menu by Donna which was helpful in deciding our choices. Arriving at 1:00, we left at 4:45, but could have stayed longer, so we had plenty of time to enjoy the food and each other's company. The restaurant was then starting to fill up, so Pho is obviously a great eatery. We will definitely go there again. Top marks to all the staff. If this was an Ofsted report, it would have said 'Excellent'.
Food was unreal, staff were brilliant and drinks are underrated! Special mention to Donna the manager tonight as she was the best hostess you could wish for! Best service and so funny! Love to see it especially now a days when there are so little left with personality. She went above and beyond to the max! Can see she genuinely cares and loves her job!
Went for a birthday treat and we're not disappointed. The whole experience was amazing. Food was excellent and the staff were exceptional. The menu was explained to us in detail and we felt we had known the manageress Donna for years. Would definitely recommend and go back.
We had the most wonderful time. Jess, who looked after us was amazing. She gave us full information about our food choice, explained the best way to enjoy our food e.g. using rice paper to enhance the flavours. Best food and service in such a lovely place. Very reasonable prices too. Really looking forward to taking my friends and family. Very highly recommend. Once again thank you Jess, for making us so welcome.
Absolutely fantastic service from the staff here. The manager Donna and vanessa and Alex could do not do enough to make sure that my experience was next level. The food was amazing, serviced quickly and full of flavours. I would 100% come to this location on bold street again and again. Tha KS guys you're wlamazing
The food was absolutely delicious, the potion sizes were perfect and there were so many vegan options to choose from. After chatting with Pho about allergy risks and asking heaps of questions to Alex, the manager, and Ben, who always replies to emails, my partner and I finally decided to have dinner there today. It was such a lovely, relaxing and enjoyable experience. The food was delicious and the staff were incredibly helpful with allergies. Alex, one of the managers, and Ben, who replied to my emails, have been incredibly helpful. They’ve been kind, informative and patient, answering my emails and phone calls about allergy and cross-contamination risks. They really put my mind at ease. I’m so sorry I didn’t get the name of the lovely lady who served me and my partner today. She was absolutely wonderful. She was so happy, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our meal was allergy-free and completely vegan. She talked us through the allergy book and took the time to explain any potential risks and check with the kitchen. We went around 3.30pm when the restaurant was quiet which allowed space and time for extra checking too. Thank you all for a lovely and enjoyable meal and experience.
Came in for a quick bite to eat, amazing as always. The staff were fantastic. Really friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience easy and welcoming. Big shout-out to Ella and Vanessa, who were all brilliant and went out of their way to help. Great food, and great people. Always a pleasure coming in.
Wow! What an absolutely amazing experience. Came here with my son for lunch as a special treat. Donna greeted us and took our border. She was not only helpful when deciding what to order but so friendly and personable. She really personifies what customer service is all about. The food was amazing, the service fantastic. It was definitely a first class customer experience and I can not wait to come again. Thank you 🤩
Lovely meal in a clean friendly restaurant with lovely staff. Waited no time at all to be seated despite it being lunchtime. Helpful and knowledgeable staff who are heppy to guide you through the menu and offer tips and serving suggestions. Food arrived quickly and was exceptional.
Quick and tasty meal. Service was very good and food the right level of spicy.
Absolutely one of my favourite restaurants. The servers were so lovely, the food was incredible and it's an amazing price to boot. Kids meals are £6.95 with a drink and the boys loved the food. The atmosphere is really nice and we will definitely be returning.
Ketan did his level best in recommending some of the best dishes on the menu. Service, food portions and ambience was just perfect, definitely a place for foodies 😋
enjoyed the food, the staff were really friendly. it’s always crowded though
A late change of dinner venue while on a trip to Liverpool meant we ended up here on Saturday evening. It was a unexpected surprise, everything from when we entered to when we left was impeccable. A special mention must go to Darsh, our waiter, who was friendly and gave great advice regarding the menu.
Excellent find on a trip over to Liverpool. Food was authentic and absolutely delicious but what truly made the experience special was my server, Caitlin, who made a single, female diner so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and she made sure I had a window table so I could people watch to my heart's content. Top job Caitlin and you're a credit to your business. I'll be back!
Love this restaurant so much, food is always on point I got the hanoi pho bowl with egg yolk and extra mushrooms and my partner got the 3 meat rice bowl and said it was so nice. Staff are really pleasant and eager to help and Elle was absolutely amazing.
Love this place! Great food, lovely staff and the best spicy lychee margs in Liverpool! Thanks for always looking after us!
Centrally located and has good vegan options. Food was great and service was great as well.
Really great customer service, friendly staff and the pho always hits the spot
Amazing service, all the staff were lovely, and it wasn't too packed when we went in around 5ish. This was our first time trying Vietnamese food and we loved our drinks and mains especially.
Was super busy but the lady that saw to us was super helpful and cleared tables as quickly as possible. She was great with out little boy and took the time to make recommendations, we opted for the prawn crackers to share, a chicken curry which was absolutely delicious and a curry chicken noodle soup which was also really tasty. Couldn’t fault the food or the people working there! The atmosphere was great too, bit off a trek to the toilets but they are super quirky with the old bank vault door as the entrance so worth it! Highly recommended as great food, very reasonably priced!
This is my second time visiting this restaurant in Liverpool, and while I often struggle to find somewhere nice to eat when I’m on my own, Jess completely changed that experience for me. From the moment I arrived, she was absolutely amazing. Her customer service was exceptional — so warm, friendly, and welcoming. She made me feel comfortable and truly well looked after. She is a real asset to the team and the company. Such a wonderful experience thanks to Jess!
The food was amazing. The service was even more brilliant and fast. Especially Alex, incredible guy, very kind and friendly, guided me through the menu, and helped me when I wasn't sure what to choose. Will definitely be coming back again.
We had a great meal and experience at Castle Street Pho for Valentine’s Day. The food was lovely, staff were great and the hostess was amazing, she had our 19 month old laughing and blowing kisses by the end. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it.
My friend and I visited Pho after a lovely afternoon shopping. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. The manager patiently answered our questions about the menu, providing recommendations as to what she thought we might like. When the food arrived, we were blown away by the explosion of different tastes! The food here is just amazing, the service is very attentive and I really cannot praise it enough. Please do visit this gem of a restaurant in Castle St, Liverpool - you won’t regret it!!
Called in midweek about 7pm. Not too busy and was seated immediately. Was able to order drinks whilst perusing the menu. Choice was not vast, but covered a good selection. Range of noodle soups, served in a large bowl. Just like eating in the far East. Baby squid and the beef rice bowl were excellent. Nice touch having chilli sauce and fish sauce on the table. Most unusual in UK. Not cheap but worth it and will definitely go again.
We had a lovely lunch at Pho today. The food was hot, tasty and everything came really quickly. The serving staff were wonderful and special shoutout to Donna who gave us a lovely surprise with our bill- a lovely woman and a credit to Pho. We will be back!
I got served by Ella, she was so knowledgeable and really knew the food. Extremely good service. Very enjoyable meal and will definitely be coming back. Thanks Ella and team 😃
This was my second time eating at Pho. I actually asked ChatGPT for a healthy, protein-packed meal in Liverpool city centre and it recommended the chicken pho with fresh chicken rice rolls. I’m glad it did, as the food was excellent and full of flavour. I also ordered a juice and an egg yolk to add to my pho. Unfortunately the juice wasn’t brought to the table and the egg yolk didn’t arrive in the bowl, although both were still on the bill. That said, the food itself was 5-star quality. The chef even brought the dish to the table and explained how to enjoy the bowl properly, which was a really nice touch. Overall, 5 stars for the food and 4 stars for the service. A couple of small things were missed from the order, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Centrally located at city center, nice atmosphere and very good service. The noodle in the pho we ordered is not as soft as it should be, the waitress kindly offer to redo it and explain it’s probably due to the noodle not stay long enough in the hot broth. The broth is if high quality and consistent with other branch all over UK. A nice and fish place to hangout with friends and family. Worth to mention that it’s pet friendly, not only our dog is able to get in, he also get a big pot of water !
First time visit on 04/02/26. It was a nice quiet chilled vibe. Staff were welcoming and informative as to Vietnamese food. I opted for the Pho house and Mrs N the Pho hot and spicy chicken. The food was refreshing, full of flavour, delicate but more than enough. It was fulfilling but without stodge. For my own tastes and experiences, the food could do with a wee bit more spice and the condiments available should offer this option to personalise your meal, but this is just picking based on authentic food from my own travels. I highly recommend and look forward to a return. I will definitely return
First visit here for us. Friendly welcome and service. I had the spicy curry. It was very nice and not too spicy. It was a little salty for me, though, but it was still very good and a good portion. The price for food was quite reasonable for city prices. Drinks what you'd expect, really. Beers are cans or bottles £5 to £8. Cocktails are also on offer. £8.50 each. My wife had the punch, which she was lovely. The dessert menu could be better, in my opinion.
The beef brisket curry is a bit too sweet for my likings but overall tasty. My friend had the dry Pho the spring roll is not authentic. It should be the one with duck. Atmosphere and location is decent for a walk on the riverside.
Always come to Pho when I am working in Liverpool. Appartment just around the corner so perfect location for this visit. I will be returning. Healthy and yummy.
The good: The food was good quality. The chicken curry and noodles were tasty and fresh. Nice atmosphere too, good street views and outdoor dining areas. The not so good: The service was bad for my table .... for some reason. I saw our waiter twice, to take our order and deliver the food. Then she disappeared. I saw the table next to us, with a different server, received frequent friendly service. For me, it was difficult to order more drinks, and to ask for the bill. Perhaps our server ended her shift soon after being assigned to my table??
Had lunch here while we were visting Liverpool. The staff was really lovely and friendly with us. Service was quick at first and the food was good as usual with Pho. Unfortunately a huge group arrived and the staff wasn't prepared for this so they were very busy. We had to wait around 20 minutes for the bill which never arrived so I decided to pay at the counter because they forgot about us. It wasn't a big deal but not the ideal situation as the place was also very noisy.
The staff was lovely, my takeaway order prepared quickly, but only one dish out of 3 was correct. Yes, that one was great, but the prawn noodles came with chicken instead and one more dish came with fresh coriander, when the only "special" request was specifically that it should not have any... Quite unfortunate, as I can tell I would have enjoyed it otherwise.
We have eaten at Pho many times and thoroughly enjoyed it. Today, however, was not great. Despite ordering the 'Classic' curry, it was choked in chillies and made it inedible. Most other main courses were ruined by too many chillies. We like 'hot' food but this was way hotter than normal and, frankly, must have been made by a junior chef. Such a shame as we had raved about Pho to our guests, and it's just typical that a £225 meal was distinctly average at best. The serving staff ranged from good to weak. Guy with beard who seemed professional to a bloke who couldn't balance a plate it if his life depended on it. I'll try it again in the hope that this was a one off, but I for one was really disappointed. Beer was poor too. Also, turn the music down, it's a restaurant. People go there to eat and engage in conversation, not dance.
Booked a table for 3 for 5pm on Friday 13/02/26 for a quick pre-theatre meal. Arrived and were promptly seated. Staff were lovely and answered my 10 year old sons questions regarding the food options. We ordered our food and drinks and started playing a game on the children's activity sheet! The restaurant quickly started filling up and, after 40 minutes, I asked staff when our food was going to be with us as tables who came in (and ordered) after us were enjoying their meals as we had to leave just after 6pm to make our show... From previous experiences with other Pho restaurants, the wait for food very rarely exceeds 10-15 minutes even when busy which is one of the reasons we chose to eat there. The member of staff acknowledged that our food should have been with us, went to the till to check but didn't come back to us with an update or apology for the delay... Our starter arrived a couple of minutes later so I can only imagine that they hadn't put our food order through initially. We then chased our mains which arrived quickly but didn't give us enough time to enjoy our eating experience before we had to leave. When the bill arrived, I had to ask for the 12.5% service charge to be removed as we still hadn't had any explanation or apology for the huge delay with our food order (made even worse by staff telling the table next to us, who arrived when it was very busy, that they'd have their food within 10-15 minutes). Really disappointing!
Poor service. Staff not friendly or attentive. Had to go up to counter to pay my bill. Visited the Brighton branch lots of times and enjoyed it hoped the Liverpool restaurant would be the same. It was not at all. Lots of empty tables, waitress more concerned with setting up the empty tables than seeing to customers. No atmosphere, food very average. Will not be visiting again.
Unfortunately, we won’t be visiting again. The service was extremely slow — we waited around 45 minutes for our mains. Starters were just okay. I ordered the green papaya salad, which is hard to get wrong, but the “this isn’t chicken” was freezing cold, dry, tough, and genuinely unpleasant — as if it had been cooked days earlier and added straight from the fridge. After the excessive wait, our mains arrived and I honestly wish they hadn’t. The curry was well below the usual standard: cold, bland, and topped with what I assume were meant to be dried onions, but they were more like crunchy cardboard. There were hardly any crushed peanuts, and once again the “this isn’t chicken” was rock hard and vile. The dish was so bland that I asked for salt, only to be told they’re not allowed to serve salt and that I should use fish sauce instead. This isn’t helpful if you’re plant-based, and frankly I don’t appreciate being told I can’t have salt — I’m an adult. If I hadn’t eaten at several other branches, I might have assumed this is just how the food is meant to be. However, we’ve visited the Bold Street and Cheltenham locations many times and had consistently good experiences, so this was especially disappointing. Service throughout was poor — we had to find staff just to order drinks. The toilets were dirty and mucky, there was no cutlery available, and although I was fine using chopsticks, my husband asked for cutlery and only one set was provided because they had apparently run out. Overall, a very disappointing visit in terms of food, service, and cleanliness.
