Opinions de Cracker Barrel Allen
OMG I hadn’t been in Cracker Barrel in years and decided to bring a home bound friend a good ole Saturday morning breakfast. The country store has all the cool old stuff from when I was a kid! It’s like their purchasing agent peeked into my memories. Charles Chips, candy bars, moon pies. Even some new stuff that’s so tasty, it’ll be future memories. Oh and their home style breakfast was fabulous!
This place just has an aura in a different level. The entrance to the restaurant is via a store that has quite an extensive variety of products that varies with the seasons. Yes, I think it might be true that they have the best pancakes 🥞 on the whole planet! Why? If you get to take some home, they don't turn into a solid looking Frisbee type thing and that makes you know the ingredients are not bad quality. Breakfast all day, oh yeah. Country home cooking dishes.
Our server had a trainee with him. He made the initial contact and then brought the food out with the trainee present. She made additional checks on us as we progressed through the meal. Overall I was impressed with the server and the trainee's service to us. We will return to that location soon.
Have visited this location numerous times, but never have I experienced the level of service provided today by Spencer. He exceeded our family's expectations with his kindness, attentiveness, efficiency, and willingnessto go above and beyond! Thank you Spencer! Your excellent service is valued.
Went there with family that was in town. During the early bird, special. They had plenty of room. I got seated right away. Food came out quick. But service was kind of slow in-between from after I received my food until I received my check. Enjoyed it and food was good.
Great service with some very good food. Waitress was amazing super kind and very friendly.
It was early morning and our visit was great. Our server was lovely.
We are here now and had the pleasure of meeting Lupe and our waiter, Jaiden. Both were super attentive, kind and very personable. The food was great, drinks were on point, atmosphere is fun, clean and no one table was left unattended to. They stay on it! Never once did we sit there looking for someone to refill our drinks. I honestly expected a long line and to have to wait but it was the complete opposite. Everything came out quickly and we were seated immediately. I definitely recommend this location. You won't be disappointed!
Spencer was our waiter and was very professional, attentive and friendly. He made sure that we were taken care of and always checked to make sure we did not need anything. He is a great asset to Cracker Barrel. He made the experience great and if we went back would request him as our waiter.
Love this place so much during road trips that sometimes I have to take a road trip just to visit cracker barrel. All the meals are good, but breakfast is my favorite. Don't know what the magic is with their pancakes, but they are better here than any pancake house. Tried the new peach and apple teas this visit. Loved both of them initially, but too sweet. They either need to tone it down or mix a regular tea with half flavored tea.
Great food. Waitress was very sweet and attentive. How ever the 2 dudes that worked the register where highly unprofessional. Stood there talking in the shop by hostess station. As I didn't want to interrupt there colorful conversation they seen me standing there and moved away to the front of the counter. Like I wanted to listen to there conversation. Asked a polite lady for help and she went and got one of the guys standing talking. He didn't know that answer and had to leave the showroom and ask his manager for pricing.
Love the food. Even when really busy they get your food out quickly. The Food is always good and hot and we can take some home with us too. They have lots of goodies to look at with a Good price! We Love this place and highly recommend it any time of the week! 😉 ENJOY!
Breakfast at Cracker Barrel was Simply Delicious! It was very crowded as we went at 11:30 a.m. so please expect a long , if you go after 10 , wait but the food and service is worth it. Both my cousin and I ordered the Grandma's breakfast sampler and it has a little bit of everything that I like to have for breakfast! For $10, you will get to buttermilk pancakes + 3 choices of meats Plus two eggs any style and hash browns with cheese or fried apples your decision. It never disappoints! And today our waitress was fantastic. While you wait for your table you can shop a little....lol! Their country store is so much fun!!! Today, I bought some cool sandals 25% off- totalling $15 ! Great deal! Go have a scrumptious breakfast and do a little shopping!!!!
I have to update for these beignets! If you like then you'll LOVE their biscuit beignets. They are some of the best I've tried outside of New Orleans. I have to come to cracker barrel when I want country ham. I can't find it in any grocery stores. I just really like this place. I'm reminded of south Georgia everytime I'm there.
After an all-nighter, I was hungry for some real breakfast food! Cracker Barrel didn’t disappoint! The blueberry pancakes, fresh scrambled eggs and chicken sausage was on point! My server attended to my every need during my visit. Unfortunately they didn’t have a bed and a blanket that I could use after I stuffed myself! Therefore I can only give them a 4.999999999 out of 5.00i😀
The hostess was excellent; sitting us quickly. The waitress took our drink and meal order within 3 minutes of us sitting. The food was outstanding. Pancakes fluffy, sausage cooked to perfection and eggs scrambled well so they were soft or running. This location was clean organized and well managed. Bathrooms also clean and well-stocked. I most certainly recommend this location.
Went here today for lunch and it was very good! I got the chicken and dumplings with side of mashed potatoes and fried apples. The chicken and dumplings were amazing. The mashed potatoes were good but they could use more seasoning. I added salt and pepper. The fried apples are also good but they don’t take the skin off all the way and it can be a little hard when you are eating it. Overall really delicious southern food!
Food was good, not great, but the service awesome! The guy in the store was very nice, respectful and helpful. Waitress also very sweet.
We've been going to this place since my son was 4 and now he's 14! Food portions are large and prices are typical. Friendly staff and quick service.
I don’t normally leave reviews for restaurants or businesses, but this experience last week truly touched my heart. While visiting Cracker Barrel in Allen, I witnessed the retail manager going out of her way to help an elderly guest tie their shoe on their way out. But it didn’t stop thereshe kindly walked them to their car to make sure they got there safely. On top of that, my own shopping experience was wonderful. The staff was so warm and attentive, helping me pick out the perfect gifts for my children. This is exactly why I love Cracker Barrel, and this location in particular. I later had the chance to talk with the retail manager, Ms. Yessi and later said, “If I can make someone’s life a little easier, even for a moment, then I feel like I’ve done my job.” That kind of kindness and dedication is rare these days, and it’s what makes this Cracker Barrel so special.
I already tried the food on this site and it is delicious 😋 the restaurant area is hot and pleasant, the decoration is beautiful, we were attended by a very nice girl who also speaks Spanish. I ate the desert first because I wanted it and I could not wait until after the meal. The dessert was delicious and fresh. 😍 I hope to go again very soon!
We often come to this Cracker Barrel to have breakfast for dinner. I especially love the biscuits. They always treat us right, but the service we had tonight from May was above and beyond. She was on top of everything and was so sweet while she did all that. We also enjoyed our experience talking with the manager, Shelby. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to our next visit!
This was me and my hubby's first sit down experience at Cracker Barrel. I checked in online and was notified of a 30m wait at around 1p on a Sunday, so the Allen location runs pretty packed. When we reached the restaurant, we were checked in promptly by our host who notified us of 5m remaining on our wait time. While I recommend that you check in online, it's OK if you don't as you'll easily spend that time in the much larger than expected Cracker Barrel gift shop; more on that later. We were seated promptly and our server almost immediately stopped by and took our drinks order. I almost instantly got munching on tasty cornbread while sipping on my delicious strawberry lemonade. Our order was then swiftly taken and before I had finished my first cornbread, there it was, our food. I was mighty surprised at not only the politeness and the sense of humor of the staff at this point, but also at the speed of service given the restaurant was at full capacity. Me and hubby both ordered chicken fried chicken with a side of corn, hashbrown casserole and dumplins. I was impressed by the generosity of the portion size including the gravy that came with the entree. The chicken was perfectly breaded with the right meat to breading ratio, crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. The corn wasn't bad, and the dumplins kept me going back for more. But the hashbrown was absolutely delicious with cheesy crispy potatoey goodness. I gobbled down the whole plate and my glass of lemonade magically got refilled before I ran out. A solid dining experience and all that for just 30 bucks for two, and I'll certainly be back for more. The gift shop was a fun bonus. They have a great selection of apparel, seasonal decorations (Fall and Christmas), old school chocolates, sodas and snacks. While we only got a few sodas and chocolates, we are definitely going to buy some apparel next time we are here as they are not only fairly priced but have that boutique shop quality.
Variety of food options is a plus. I would give more stars but my food was luke warm. We received biscuits with our meal but no small plates to eat them on. I was served a drink refill that I didn't ask for, appreciate it but didn't ask for so it was wasted. The staff was friendly. We were able to sit quickly because of online check-in, which is a plus. Updated review Our server Mitchell provided great service. He was attentive and friendly. I would've given 5 stars but I didn't enjoy the green beans. This visit was much better compared to a visit earlier in the year. I now look forward to returning. Updated review 3/15/23 Service, food, and ambiance was good tonight. I enjoyed the crispy chicken tenders I ordered with a side a sweet and smokey sauce on the side. Loaded mashed potatoes earn 4 stars instead of 5 because the bacon was more fatty than chewable.
It’s a beautiful restaurant and shopping store. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and holidays season. I visited with my family, Our server was very knowledgeable and courteous. Pancake and breakfast was very delicious and specially hot and fresh cinnamon roll. Our server make sure we have our coffee cup full and if we need anything else. They also serve fresh and breakfast all day👍🏽 I was very impressed with food and service. Planning to go back there soon. I Will highly recommend for great place to take your family for any occasion.👍🏽👍🏽
We went out for dinner late on a Sunday evening. Our wait time was 15 minutes so we used that time to pick up our grocery order from ALDI. We got the text that our table was ready just as we were pulling up to the restaurant. We were taken right to our table (much to my chagrin allowing no time to shop). I knew what I wanted from looking at the online menu. The kids made their mind up quick. Our drinks were ordered and brought right out. They made my daughter a cherry Dr Pepper that was incredibly tasty!!! Biscuits & muffins were brought out with our butter & honey request and soon after came our meals. The Sunday chicken dinner was exactly what I had been hoping for. Boneless chicken breast perfectly seasoned and fried to the beautiful crispy golden for that homemade flavor to satisfy !!! My son enjoyed every bite of the beef roast and his loaded baked potato too. Miss Picky who didn’t go outside her wheelhouse got her usual chicken fingers & fries and was happy with those as well. Our server was great-friendly & engaging. The restaurant was clean & inviting as expected and socially distanced due to the times. And I never got to shop because my adult children know how I can dawdle and whisked me directly to the cash register and out the door.

Our waitress was so sweet and she kept coming to make sure we was good. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the food but it was the waitress customer service that really stood out more this time around.
Excellent food! Waitress was most excellent! Store was clean & well stocked. The only problem was that I had to wait almost 20 minutes to be seated due to no one could find the hostess. I have limited mobility so by the time I was finally seated I was in extreme pain. Had to be a bit of a Karen to finally get someone to seat me. I was a little embarrassed but it was that or fall down on the floor when my leg gave out. My experience after that was very impressive! One of the best cracker barrel meals I've ever eaten.
Late dinner here one night recently. We all had breakfast items. Everything was fresh and delicious. Our server was fantastic and took great care of us. Very enjoyable dinner.
Great food. Good service. 2024 UPDATE. Why does an authentic bkfst place now have phony cream that needs no refrigeration? They used to have half-and-half. The syrup used to be pure maple, and now it's half maple. 😲 Not good, Cracker Barrel. Give us a choice to select "real food" even if we have to pay a few pennies more. I'll gladly take an upcharge to get real syrup and cream that came from a cow. Thanks!
I arrived after they closed and departed before they opened. Which is fine because this Cracker Barrel tolerates overnight parking and I'm here in my Sprinter van. It's a friendly suggestion that you could please purchase a meal in return for the free and undisturbed spot. Yes, I will buy a dinner very soon. Just not tonight.
Enjoyed the sampler combo with meatloaf, chicken & dumplings, steak fries, green beans, buttered biscuits, & fried pickles w/ Ranch dressing!
We came here to celebrate my mother-in-law's 78th birthday because it's one of the few places you can order meatloaf in a restaurant and that's what she wanted. It's been a long time since I had eaten at a Cracker Barrel. The staff was friendly and accommodating of our party of 8. The food was pretty decent and the nostalgic signs and whatnot on the walls were neat. It was much better than I remembered it being in the past.
This was a breakfast stop while traveling through. Our server was outstanding! She took time for us and answered our questions. Our coffee mugs stayed full! Prices were reasonable, but I'm sure that's because we were in TX instead of the now over-priced CO. Food was good, and fortunately, they still use real maple syrup for the pancakes. One major frustration is they charge extra for the chicken sausage as a "premium" meat, although the up-charge to swap is NOT noted on the menu. When they had turkey sausage in the past, there wasn't an up-charge to swap - it was a free swap of meat for meat, which is how it should be instead of corporations taking advantage just "because they can" of people trying to eat healthier.
My first visit to Cracker Barrel. The little store was awesome! The food was good but not great.
Went in for breakfast and Ava M. was our server and she was awesome. It was a little more crowded than we've usually experience when going in on a Sunday morning but we were seated right away. We were able to order right away and once we ordered our food came out very quickly! I got the biscuits and gravy with the choice of bacon. It came with 3 biscuits! Way more food than I can eat for breakfast. The kids meals are huge too, I don't think I would be able to finish a whole kids meal either. I always enjoy the food here and the service is always excellent. I love being able to pay via phone with the QR code on the bill.
I enjoy going to Cracker Barrel. They serve comfort food like fried chicken and fish, greens, corn bread and vegetables. While I'm waiting for a table I going shopping in the store and lust after the candies. 😃😁
I always enjoy coming here food is always good. The shop area is a good place to waste time if waiting to be seated. Alot of cute things from clothing, house decor and even toys. I recommend not going if it's super busy, it can get quite loud and a lil overwhelming. We had a few hiccups with our orders but our waiter was awesome and corrected everything we had an issue with.
Good ol' American standard restaurant chain.. always predictably good food and attentive service.. This location was super busy as it was Mother's Day and seemed to have some issues getting folks seated... I used the online wait list and had a table in 10 mins.. ordered the sampler with a side of grits and a coffee.. Even picked out a few gifts in their little country store... Was a great stop!
Food was pretty good! Ivy was new but already a great waitress, super kind and attentive. The front hostess was not very friendly when I told her our name had been called and did not believe me, which was a little awkward. It also gets really loud when it is busy, so come with patience and maybe a little prayer. Overall a solid Cracker Barrel experience with some room for grace!
This location seems not to have as good of food as others. The biscuits were undercooked & the gravy was too much flour. The service & atmosphere was good. In the shopping area we chose an item from an area with 25% off sign near checkout. I confirmed with the nice woman at the counter that our item was 25% off. Then a younger woman came over & said ‘No it’s not. I’m changing the sign.’ The 25% off was not honored. That wasn’t very cool at all.
It was the second time I visit this restaurant chain, the only thing I don't give a five star review was due to the failure from this location to use the app for joining the waiting list as wasn't available or the lady wasn't trained to use it. Food is a very classic american, pancakes flavor is good, and the shop outside this type of restaurant is good for souvenirs.
It is better to go before 4 pm on a Sat. Service was not up to par. Asked for Ice water, got ice in a cup and then was asked if we want water in it. 🤦♀️ then the fried chicken was not completely cooked and two of the servings were cried bones and no meat. Out of 4 pieces only one had meat. Asked for something else and the manager was not pleasant at all.
I decided not to cook because it was just me and my boyfriend and found Thanksgiving Heat & Serve online. Picking it up was convenient because they had a drive thru area instead of going inside. Their Heat & Serve instructions were good for me to plan out my cooking times and the order. I don't generally eat at Cracker Barrel, but I'm assuming the food is just the same. With that being said, although the food wasn't bad, I probably won't start eating there any time soon.
I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Dinner 4-Piece chicken fried...... and it was not to my expectations...... it was not the crispy Brown Fried Chicken that I expected.. the chicken look like it had been deep-fried in used oil. and it was served warm .. not piping hot ..it taste it like it had been deep fried in used oil
Authentic southern food 😋 The place is beautiful with all Texan heritage. While waiting can exceed 10 min, it is a nice a pleasant wait as there is a beautiful waiting shop filled with Texan souvenirs and keepsakes. It is an amazing place to take visitors( like me) They give you biscuits and corn bread 😋😋
Cracker Barrel is a classic breakfast staple… for a popular breakfast place you cannot beat their prices! Their prices have not been raised even with inflation so that is nice. You can go and get a decent breakfast or lunch and not break the bank. The staff is always so friendly and efficient. They have added alcohol to their menu now - beer, mimosa, and Bloody Mary! You can never go wrong with their breakfast sampler… and their fried chicken is bomb for breakfast or lunch. They recently changed their chicken fried steak… to a patty so it looks and tastes different so that was disappointing. Their biscuits and gravy side was good.
When my wife and I first walked in a female employee eating gummy worms walked right in-between us ... looked at me as though I was in the wrong. The food here is always excellent - especially the chicken fried chicken! Tonight seemed like this place was in a funky mood though. Slow service, didn't receive any forks or spoons to eat our food with. We were there for a while before we got our drinks and could order our food. The service isn't like this all the time... most of the time we receive some great service during our meal. Tonight wasn't a busy night at all. The hostess was very nice and friendly.

I usually have a great experience here but today was not that. Everything came out cold the pancakes and the eggs were not fluffy and good as usual. The sausage was the best thing on my plate. Not sure if it's a new cook or changed recipes. But please go back to doing what you have always done.
Had a great breakfast at this location, then a horrible lunch about 10 days later! My wife had the meatloaf dinner, and I had chicken strips. My chicken strips were cold and relatively tasteless when eaten without a dip, and my side of dumplings was so tasteless and bland that I had only one bite! My wife’s meatloaf was not warm, tasteless, and burned. She has always loved the meatloaf at Cracker Barrel but couldn’t eat this one. We both had the greens as a side and they were so salty and bland in flavor that we neither of us ate them! We are not normally picky eaters and hardly ever complain or return food to the kitchen, and we did neither of these things on this occasion as well, but were extremely disappointed! Have eaten at Cracker Barrel’s for well over 40 yrs, so know you normally have excellent food. This time it was terrible! Our servers were outstanding!!!!
Not the greatest. The portions aren't all that much for the price. If you order the fried fish, don't expect more than one piece. The fries smelled odd and had that same odd taste. My son ordered the mac and cheese. They put it in a 'deep' bowl, but the portion isn't worth 5 bucks. They do have a gift shop which is alright. Wasn't crazy good, or worth more than 3 stars in my opinion.
We come here often. Normally the food is spot on but the service varies. My son and I went last Friday evening. It was busier than usual and LOUD. There were several big tables with families. 20 minutes after placing our order, the manager approached our table apologizing that they were out of dumplings. But they could make a fresh batch if we were willing to wait 20 minutes. I obviously agreed to wait. He also assured me that my meal was on them for the inconvenience. The fresh dumplings came and although piping hot they didn’t taste as good as usual. The waitress gave me my check but I didn’t see my meal discounted nor did the cashier mention any thing so I paid for our entire meal as planned. I never asked for the free meal. The manager insisted this when apologizing for the dumplings shortage - don’t say one thing then do another. I would have been completely fine and happy if he would have never offered to comp my meal but he did then didn’t following through!? In my opinion he had plenty of time to discount my bill or make staff aware while we were waiting and eating our dumplings but clearly failed to hold up his end of his bargain.
Pancakes were not good at all. Very dry and don't really taste like anything. Service was mediocre. The atmosphere is unique and quaint. The milk we received was expired.
We usually live our experience at Cracker Barrel but they have really begun to disappoint. This past week the service was super slow, the food took forever and was cold. Our granddaughter ordered chocolate chip pancakes and got regular, our scrambled eggs were running and gelatinous. It is a shame to see them going downhill. We won't be going back.
We went there for dinner. Reagan was our server and she was absolutely fantastic. She was very helpful with suggestions. Extremely nice friendly wonderful experience Reagan was a shining star

The cashier stole a bracelet that we purchased by not putting it in the bag. My wife loves to shop the unique items at CB and this day I spent over 200 not including the meal there. We still have the receipt and plan on returning all of the stuff.
Food is just very average. The southern fried chicken isn’t seasoned and felt greasy. The bacon Mac and cheese which costs 2 dollars extra is like a single bite of Mac and cheese with bacon. It’s very small. The mashed potatoes aren’t creamy. Just felt like they smashed a potato and left it at that. The white meat itself was juicy but apart from that there wasn’t anything that good. I’d enjoy Ihop more over cracker barrel. Which is sad to say
Place smelled like urine for some reason. Had to wait a solid 10 minutes before the waitress even talked to me. She took orders of larger parties, that arrived after I did, first.
First of all, why does it seem that my wife and I can't catch a break at Cracker Barrel! We waited a least 5 min before we get a host. I watched two different tables seated after us get service before we did. Watched others getting refills and full service. A waiter finally took our order, for we wanted the beef Campfire. He didn't ask if we wanted biscuits or cornbread. 20 minutes later, he comes back to tell us that the beef would take 30 min to be ready and offered us the chicken. Kinda been sitting that long with just drinks that were not being refilled, to find out we can't get what we ordered. We went with the chicken. 10 min later, we get the chicken. So hit that it took about 5 min before we could eat. Then it seemed the chicken was bit under cooked. Too much pink colors. Saw waiter maybe one other time before the bill. Not a good experience. So, about 30 plus minutes of sitting, really didn't get what we came for, one refill, hard cornbread and biscuits..just not a good visit.
Well our food was cool when we got it and not hot like it should be. Then my daughter found a hair when she cut into her pancake. Like the hair was in the batter. The only reason I’m giving it a 2 star is the manager finally took the price of the meals off. We love Cracker Barrel but might not go back to that location
We have ordered takeout from here twice now and both times have been less than stellar. Maybe dining in is a better experience? The first time we ordered, the fried chicken was a chewy texture, which was gross. We decided to give it another shot, avoiding fried chicken dishes, and here’s a picture of one of the meals. The meatloaf looked like the sole of an old shoe. It tasted alright, but I’m still in disbelief that an employee put this plate together and thought “this looks acceptable.” I’ll probably be avoiding this location in the future, at least for takeout.

I was here with my fiance on March 22, 2023, around noon. At first, my fiance and I ordered the wrong item, but I corrected it after arguing with the waitress, by name of, according to the receipt,…
I’ve honestly never had such an uncomfortable experience from the moment I arrived. I made an online reservation and got a message confirming my table was ready — yet the woman at the entrance, with a rude and condescending attitude, refused to let us in until she “verified” it. What’s the point of confirming then? Once seated, we waited over 40 minutes for our food, while people who arrived after us were already eating. When I finally asked what was going on, the waitress told me she didn’t know how much longer it would take, and offered to just give me the check for the drinks if I wanted to leave. Seriously? Then the manager came over, and her attitude was basically “oh well.” No apology, no solution, no empathy at all. Honestly, I won’t be coming back. Poor customer service, no accountability, and a complete lack of professionalism.
The experience was awful. After being seated we waited 25 minutes before we got up to get someone to take our order. Then they were out of rolls and corn bread but that was the theme of our visit. No mashed potatoes, no grits, no chicken n dumplings, no sweet tea. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had.
What an absolute mess! I ordered the Biscuit Benny and had to return it because the eggs were cold. It was a Friday, the place was virtually empty and this is what I receive? Cold eggs, hard sausage patties, soupy grits? I returned the plate for 2 fresh and hot over easy eggs. I didn't want to upset my family because of my displeasure, so I accepted the plate after the eggs were re-done. I WILL NEVER return however!
Had the worst day experience in my life here today the meat loaf came out with other meats mixed in with it I asked for another piece and it came out half cooked. I ordered beans with my meal and it had greens mixed in with them(NOT AT MY REQUEST). I drove 45min to this location and will never be doing it again
I went with my family and we had the worst service. We ordered our meals and nothing came out on time. Our drinks were not refilled. We will not be back.
To start our server Lupe did not smile not one time. Her service felt forced and irritable. I was a server/bartender myself so I know people have bad days but don’t rain on others parade because you’re miserable or in the weeds. I guess I’m not as white as I thought I was because the food had zero flavor and the syrup tasted something I’d use to attract bees with, not eat on my French toast. The smoked sausage tastes like awful 47 year old beef jerky. The biscuits and gravy? Tasted like my dead grandpas ash tray. Half our stuff was forgotten about. Just like I’ll be forgetting I ever came here. Terrible. Picture to show how we barely touched a thing.
We have eaten at this Cracker Barrel a few times, and the service and food have always been spot on. However, our breakfast this morning was a big disappointment. French Toast was served with cold syrup and had to ask for it to be heated up. Seems like the portion size has been cut dramatically on ham and bacon and especially the hash brown casserole. I don't understand why when the prices of the menu items have risen. Our waitress seemed like she didn't even care. Hindsight, I wish I had taken some photos. We will find another establishment to take our business too.
We frequent Cracker Barrel regularly and had an extremely unpleasant experience this time. We get seated at a 4 top table for 5 people and ask the manager on duty if we can put tables together only to be told that this table is made for 5 people. You can see the picture that shows we were crammed in and didn’t even have enough room on the table for our plates. He also told us we had to have our fifth person sit in the aisle instead of between the unused 2 seater table next to us. There was no wait the whole time we were here so there’s no reason we couldn’t have used the table next to us. His delivery was also extremely rude. The waitress Mia was super sweet and took great care of us! Lastly, we got our food and three of us got French toast that had varying pieces of burnt toast.
Let me start off by saying I have never written a review on a business on social media or google. I often say I will, but I never do. Usually, if I am displeased with the service or food, I will ask for a manager, and advise of the issue and give them the opportunity to make it right. However, Cracker Barrel’s manager, Joseph appeared to NOT about making this wrong, right. He was more concerned with the number of customers he had in his location at the moment. Blatantly dismissing the fact that I am paying customer as well! I ordered what I thought would be a decent Thanksgiving meal for myself. Co-workers, family and friends all invited me to their home for Thanksgiving, but I declined anticipating my meal I had ordered. I simply wanted to sit at home and binge watch Christmas movies. Around 1:45pm I went to pick up my meal, not dressed to dine or interact with the public. When left my home, I thought I would simply be doing a curbside pick up and not have to get out of my truck. When I arrived at the Cracker Barrel location, I immediately noticed how busy they were. It appeared it would be a seamless process, as it was organized with signs to direct people which way to go. An employee gave me my food, very quickly & I proceeded to go back home. Once I got home, I opened my bag and I looked at my food, and was certainly SURPRISED. Definitely not in a good way. The appearance & the disgust look of this food, I wouldn’t even feed to my dogs. I immediately drove back to Cracker Barrel. Once inside, I asked if I could speak with the manager, who asked how could he help me. I asked if could get a refund. I showed him the pictures of what I thought I was ordering and I also show him the picture what I got and he said, “can you call back tomorrow , we set aside that day for refunds.” How do you have a contingency on refunds, but not a contingency on correcting or ensuring customer orders are satisfactory? I asked if I could get my refund today. He declined and stated he has customers inside that he needed to “take care of. We’re gonna get you your money back.” Never did he apologize for the horrific order I received. He only stated that he could agree that what I received, certainly did not look like what was advertised. He stated that the picture is how it looks when you dine in, not order TOGO. Why wouldn’t it be the same? They were out of pecans for the sweet potato casserole, the juice from the string beans drained into my sweet potato casserole. While there, the manager pulled another order out, and it looked the exact same as mine, disgusting. These all appeared to be frozen dinners, simply heated up. This could have very well, but my last $20 & my only source of food for the day. Fortunately, it was not!! There was absolutely no form of concern or no interest with ensuring I was given an edible meal. Only option, was to wait until tomorrow for a refund! Everything has increased, as far as cost and prices, all while customer service is DECREASING! Not one, “Love for the opportunity to make it right. No accountability for the poor quality of food that I received. Some may think it’s only $20, not much! This was supposed to be my comforting food. Yes, I could’ve drive to a friend’s home, flew to see family, or even cooked a meal myself, however, that was not my plan. Please take the time and train your managers and cooks!!!!! TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN!! Advise them if it’s getting too busy and they get overwhelmed, shut off ToGo orders & only handle the customers in store. Most people order with their eyes and presentation is everything . An upset customer is going to tell everyone and a happy customer maybe tell one person. Take the time to listen to your customers and simply make it right. This year I am thankful for not allowing Cracker Barrel to cater the family dinner as previously planned! Note to self-ALWAYS have a back up plan when ordering Thanksgiving dinner. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Long wait to get seated as attendant apparently was on break. Food selection very limited if the client is on NOT fried food. Asked for water, no ice. Was served water with ice. Check out line maybe 15 minutes long because of cash register system problems. NOT a good experience as I was on a tight schedule to pick up wife from nearby clinic.
The server told us up front service would be bad. He had a lot of tables and was busy. Stated they were out of several items. The appetizer came out with dinner. No bread. Had to ask. Probably worst service I've had in a CB. The 2 managers just stood on and off at the fireplace. Never once helps their staff. No wonder why the staff has such a negative outlook. The gift shop did have cute items.. no one in there either to help though.. ugh!
The food was not the best. My hash browns were hard and cold the gravy didn’t look fresh nor did the grits. The biscuits looked half cooked and weren't brown on the bottom. I was expecting a great meal however it really wasn’t as I thought. Seems like some Cracker Barrel’s are better than others and this was my situation.
Quality is gone and food is not what it used to be. Ordered takeout for family and food was cold, solidified, over cooked and over processed. Daughter struggled to chew a single bite of her tenders before she spit out. Mashed potatoes were cold and a solid chunk. Chicken fried steak tasted as bad as it physically looks in the pictures and was spit out immediately by myself. Wife threw out all her food minus the green beans. Manager was abrupt and wanted me to bring all the food back to them so they could recook it or give gift cards for future orders which I declined as won't ever get this memory out of our heads. Manager swore by foods freshness and borderline accused me of making it all up. I'll let these pictures speak for themselves. Anyone that used to love Cracker Barrel, you've been warned. This stores management should be ashamed of both the food and how they chose to handle this situation.
