May 2023 Tried Fontina's lunch today. Charming ambience, attentive and efficient service. Cal took great care of us. Thank you~ Pork Chop and Chicken Piccata both juicy and flavorful. Highly recommend. Updates in Feb 2024 Family dinner tonight. All dishes delicious. We're still satisfied customers at Fontina, keeping my 5 stars. Updates in October 2024 Had brunch here, Benedict delectable. Best mussels, no bad ones in whole dish, couldn't say that to other mussels I'd tried elsewhere. Keeping my 5 stars.

Stopped here for an evening with friends before enjoying the beautiful downtown McKinney. Decided to go with wine and apps and it was a good choice! Jade took care of us and on her recommendation we tried the Bruschetta and Spinach Dip - both amazing - and added in a little protein with the Meatballs which made it a perfect combo for the three of us!

Each time we visited, we were seated quickly without needing a reservation. We were warmly greeted at the door and our server and other staff were friendly and attentive. The dining area is cozy and closely quartered but not unreasonably noisy. You can easily carry on a conversation while you dine. Our water glasses were kept full and the fresh bread was provided throughout the meal. Our meals were served quickly, piping hot. Fresh Parmesan cheese and ground pepper service was offered. Each dish was delicious, leaving us wanting to lick the plate clean. Having some bread for that purpose was helpful. If you're looking for a quality Italian meal on the square this is a great choice.

Eric, Adam and the entire staff at Fontina are always amazing. We’ve become regulars here because of the quality of food, drinks and customer service. We’ve gone to many nearby “high dollar” restaurants that don’t even compare to the quality of food and customer service that’s offered here. For a downtown McKinney location they offer World class food and service. Check them out you won’t be disappointed.

We have been on the hunt for authentic food in the DFW area and this definitely hit the mark. The ambiance was nice and in a great downtown McKinney location. We loved the spinach dip with fresh bread. Our favorite pasta was the spaghetti. We will return!

The food was so good and fresh. They brought out fresh warm bread and an olive oil/balsamic dip for us. We shared a Caesar salad and the rigatoni bolognese and it was outstanding. Vibes and atmosphere were nice but not snooty ❤️ loved it!

Food Started with the bruschetta crisp bread, sweet tomatoes, hint of balsamic. Simple and solid. Main courses were the showstoppers: • Vegetable Thai Curry Pasta – Not your average Italian dish, but bold and creamy with the perfect kick. Loaded with veggies and flavor. • Fettuccine with Shrimp – Rich tomato sauce, fresh herbs, and tender shrimp. Pasta cooked just right. • Cheese Ravioli in Butternut Squash Sauce – Sweet, savory, and buttery smooth. Comfort in a bowl. Atmosphere Dim lighting, warm tones, and not too loud. Great for date night or a slow dinner with friends. Service Friendly staff, not pushy. Let us linger and enjoy. Verdict Unexpected fusion, classic Italian comfort, and fresh ingredients. Worth the visit. Would recommend and repeat!!

Enchanting beautiful spot! Great service and friendly staff. Fatima was very sweet! Also our server was wonderful! This pasta was so good! So grateful to have a gluten free vegan option here at this lovely restaurant! The plants inside were so uplifting. Definitely recommend :)

Wonderful food, service and atmosphere! Perfect for any romantic or cute date. Served with bread and a tangy olive oil vinaigrette. We ordered the margarita pizza, lasagna and meatballs. All amazing. It was quiet and beautifully decorated. An absolute must if in downtown McKinney .

Restaurant is decorated so cute&chic, very warming atmosphere, we had lobster ravioli, spaghetti&meatballs and rigatoni, everything was good including desserts, chocolate cake was moist and lemon dessert was very good as well! Didn't really like the spinach dip, it was more like a soup. Our server Brookelyn was the absolutely BEST, she was the sweetest! Highly recommend!

I had such a wonderful experience at Fontina Ristorante! The food was absolutely amazing—full of flavor, beautifully prepared, and truly authentic. The service was professional, attentive, and made the evening even more enjoyable. This place is a real gem in McKinney, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

It was one of the greatest dining experiences of my life. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere was phenomenal, Beautifully organized and spotless. The dessert was especially delightful! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Italian food and warm vibes. I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes!

This is a lovely restaurant to dine in the McKinney downtown area. We went there for a late lunch while strolling around the downtown area. It is an Italian restaurant with a good menu and a selection of beverages. My husband ordered this penne pasta with a arrabbiata sauce and I ordered chicken soup. I enjoyed the bread along with the bread dip that came with the soup. The server was courteous and they gave us a complimentary tiramisu which tasted great. Overall, we had a good dining experience. Reservations are recommended during dinner times or peak hours. Recommended to all.

Amazing Italian experience! Fontina Ristorante was incredible. Our waiter Isabella was attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. The risotto was absolutely delicious—so authentic it made me feel like I was in Italy. Can’t wait to come back! 🇮🇹🍝

Happened to stop in on a Sunday evening on our way back home. Absolutely delicious! The bartender was very friendly and made the best margaritas and expresso martinis. The pizza was delicious and the seafood pasta was divine. We hope we will be back in the area soon so we can try other things on the menu.

Excellent experience. Truffle ravioli was sooooo good (suggest lowering salt by 10%, but amazing flavor). Eggplant parm also great quality. And our server Maria was such a sweetheart. Will be back!!!

The lasagna was delicious. Great sauce with the right balance of cheese. You will not be disappointed. It seemed like the pasta was made there too. The food tasted fresh and made from scratch. A very authentic vibe. Any red sauce dish would be a recommendation.

Ordered food to go, with a food allergy. We have been here dozens of times and even have a preferred waitress. Normally we eat in, but tonight, decided to take food to go. Rotated the food allergy and promised it would be respected (even ordered our standard go to entrée for easy substitution ofnsauce). This was not respected and the allergy was received. 15 minutes after consuming, the reaction started. Called the restaurant and the response was 'we are sorry to hear that'. Obviously upset with slouch a poor response, I responded with 'i will be there i. Front of the restaurant to inform any customer of their lackluster customer service' - with.juch more colorful language. Will never visit/patron this establishment again. And I will follow thru with informing any potential customer on their way into Fontina of the absolute disregard for public health and safety. Find olme outside the establishment every night for as long as I can.
