Excellent experience beginning to end! My company hosted a retirement celebration for one of our coworkers here and it was a wonderful night. We were on the porch and it got a bit breezy so they pulled down the covers and we had heaters plus the fireplace - so cool! We had two servers for the total party and they were spectacular - we never wanted for anything. Although I only got a few food pictures, I tried several different dishes and every single one was delicious. I really enjoyed the experience and everyone left happy.
amazing dinner experience! staff is kind, attentive, and accommodating. food is high quality and absolutely delicious. great variety of choices on the menu (including vegetarian and gf), each one as great as the last. would definitely recommend FSE for a group celebration or fancy night out. our party of 6 loved our time here!
Good god this place is incredible!!! Every dish we had was better than the last and each one was a masterclass in perfectly balanced flavors! Alpharetta is lucky to have such a fantastic chef who is clearly so passionate and has a beautiful and clear vision. I feel lucky to live so close by! The atmosphere is exactly what you want to wind down (or up?! 🤣) on a Friday night! Great lighting, cool interior and artistic design, and great overall vibes! We ordered so much food because we were so hungry and it was all just perfect. The cocktails were superior! Our server, Julio, was just the best!! So approachable and super knowledgeable about all the dishes. He made an already awesome experience over the top excellent!! I can’t wait to come back and am so excited to see what this relatively new restaurant goes from here!
Foundation Social Eatery and the amazing Operating Partner, Nick and fabulous Chef, Mel made October 24th a night to remember! I chose to have my post wedding ceremony dinner here on the patio with 25 guests. I worked with Nick along the way to plan the most amazing experience! We offered a cocktail hour with three passed apps, all absolutely fantastic! Then served a sit down 3 course meal at one table which was my vision and main request! Service was fantastic and the food was out of this world! Not a single complaint. This restaurant takes zero shortcuts and we made the right decision hosting a meal we will remember forever here!
I read reviews before going and knew the food would be good, but have to say it was GREAT. We had a group of 7 and our server London was awesome and personable. Not to mention the cocktails. I had the Your Gin Cocktail and Oleo Fashioned that were both the perfect made drinks we were looking for. This is the kind of place I want to be a regular at.
JUST DO IT! Perfect every time. Detail paid to every flavor. Imaginative with excellent ingredients. Great cocktails. Casual vibe.
Everything was fantastic. We really enjoyed the loud but vibrant atmosphere of the new space. The chicken liver pate board was a stand out for us. Full of good flavors and anchored by a rich but smooth pate that I just wanted more of. The scallops and halibut were both perfectly prepared and delicious. Thank you to Sam for the excellent service! We can’t wait to come back!
Looking for an incredible Restaurant North of Atlanta? You have to visit Foundation Social Eatery in Alpharetta. Within a comfortable, relaxed dining atmosphere, you can sit back, enjoy your favourite drink, and know that the food is going to be top notch! Every bite takes you on a food journey that is out of this world! Be prepared to be impressed. @foundationsocialeatery Thank you to my lovely sister who brought me here and treated me to such a wonderful dining experience! P.S. Our server, Stephen, is among the best of the best in the service industry! That made the dining experience phenomenal.
Had dinner there for the first time and really enjoyed it. Wonderful service and excellent dishes. We had their pork ribs, octopus, halibut and chicken. Everything was outstanding. So unusual for such healthy dishes to be so delicious! Update: we keep coming back to this place and it never disappoints! The food is beyond excellent with incredible flavors and beautiful presentation! Thank you for yet again impressing us!
My husband works in Alpharetta and always walks around for lunch. He had seen this restaurant and wanted to try it (it was only open for dinner). We finally had an opportunity after work one Friday. The service was top shelf the entire time. The perfect balance of kind and professional, as well as attentive but not overbearing. Our waiter Justin was very knowledgeable, easy-going and helpful. Every bite of food was exquisite. We had the charcuterie board appetizer, Athletic Haze IPA (non alcoholic) and a glass of Chardonnay. This is a random detail, but the glassware and the plates were tastefully ornate and added to the overall presentation. We chose to sit on the patio, as the evening had cooled off some of the Georgia heat. It was comfortable and quiet. We had the flank steak as our entree. It was perfection. The truffle demi glaze was brilliant. It was a little pricey, but worth it. I will definitely be back.
We decided to bounce around Alpharetta Saturday night, after the rain lifted, and try a few places just sitting at various restaurant bars. As always, FSE did not disappoint with the incredible cocktails and distinctive food choices. This was our first time ever trying the "tinned fish boards" and if you want something that is unique and different, you must try this delicious treat! We also had the mushroom ravioli that was savory and the earl grey panna cotta that was perfect.
Best dinner in Alpharetta! Delicious food, attentive staff, exceptional cocktails, and killer desserts. The owners put their hearts into FSE and it shows!
Food was delicious! The restaurant had a fun atmosphere with lots of seating options. Would also be good for large groups as there were several spaces that could be blocked off into private eating areas. All the food was amazing. The server was able to explain everything to us in great detail and answer any questions we had. Since two people in our party were celebrating a birthday they also brought us a complimentary birthday dessert.
We loved FSE when they were in Roswell and we still love them in Alpharetta ❤️ We visited in their 3rd week of service I believe and it was just as great as in Roswell. It's more expensive than I remembered but that tracks with their new location. I hope they (re) introduce a happy hour menu of some kind and/or daily/weekly specials. We had the escargot, Caesar salad, hanger steak, pork Pappardelle, and ice cream/sorbet. The hanger steak was a bit too salty and I like salt. I'd still order it again though. Other than that I thought all the dishes were amazing! Original Review from prior location: Wonderful European restaurant in Roswell. Excellent value given the high quality ingredients and dishes. They have a comprehensive Covid policy that actually does socially distance. Unfortunately, their last service in this location is Dec 31.
The place is visually beautiful. Big open bar, and open kitchen concept where you can see them cookin it up! Everything and I mean everything was decadent. You can't go wrong with anything that you get, whether it's the drinks or the food. The service was great. Everyone is so nice and welcoming!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Everything I mean everything is delicious. Great service. Menu changes with season. Very good Caesar salad. Hanger steak good flavor and presentation. And the sea bass was perfection. Ask for the Old Dogwood if you like a bourbon cocktail. Very very nice experience every time.
The food: very beautifully plated and always delicious & creative. The service: Sam--! 🙂 Your service and low key attentiveness-thank you! (And Nick--you make it all even better just with your presence ✨️). Chef Mel Toledo: always giving us more than what we expect!! GENIUS. Love ya'll!! ❤️
Wow! Wow! Wow! Foundation Social Eatery is back, with a better location but the same amazing food and staff! FSE reopened last December and we were never able to book a table until tonight! It was like being back home! Britt, one of the bartenders she is awesome! Justin is still there! Great waiter! Mel, executive chef and owner was there to make sure everything was just perfect! We had to have the octopus as we had great memories ... had the crab special (to die for), the Lamb Shank. And for dessert!!? Tropical Posset yummi!!!! Cannot wait to go back for more!
Good food, good vibe, good service. Was apparently there for the last ever brunch service, which is quite a pity as it was a great spot for brunch on the patio.
Our servers did a great job with our party of 18. We were celebrating a 1st birthday and they were very patient with us taking a ton of pics and such. Excellent service! Food did not disappoint at all. Not a single person in our party had a negative thing to say about the food. Personally, I had the pork osso bucco and it was delicious. Super tender without losing all texture, much like a good rib. The poached pear complimented the osso bucco very well. Really enjoyed the crisp Spanish octopus for a starter and do did my 7yo to my surprise. When you can get a 7yo to have thirds on octopus you did something right!
What a wonderful experience!!! We took a chance and went to a new restaurant called Foundation for our Anniversary. We had a fantastic experience. The food was incredibly delicious and the service was excellent. The chef is very accomplished and that was evident in the menu items and our meals were amazing. They had many gluten free options and they were willing to tweak any dish to accommodate my allergy. My dish was the Halibut and this is a picture of my husbands lamd shank.....totally amazing..Highly, highly recommend and we will be going back soon.
One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. Couldn't stop smiling with each bite. Our waitress was also amazing and made everything sound appetizing, even stuff we would normally never try.
Fantastic dine in experience on New Years Eve! We had the Mushroom Ravioli as an appetizer and it was delicious! ( order bread with it to soak up all of the deliciousness after you eat the ravioli ) you will thank me later. Chicken Bolognese was my main accompanied by an Oleo Fashioned, both were spectacular. Probably the best old fashioned I’ve had. Go here, and enjoy.
Stopped by for lunch while running an errand and got some really delicious pork short ribs and a chicken sandwich, so good! I definitely have to come here again, the presentation was amazing, I didn't want to leave, their dessert was great too! Wonderful atmosphere and great dining!
My father, husband and I brought my grandmother here for her birthday. They went above and beyond for her! Their charcuterie selections are wonderful... The entrees were fantastic (they always are!) Creative and delicious desserts!
Genius food, all the dishes came out brilliantly, hot, tasteful and fresh! Drinks were special and the service on the bar was excellent and definitely a place to finish a successful day!
Great little eatery. Surprisingly calm but full for lunch. Greeted and server were pleasant and straightforward: glad that they held the door for me! Food was lovely and great lunch portions. The menu had enough great items that it was hard to choose. Would knock off a half star because the sauces were dripped under the sandwich, making it soggy; the bench at the bar had a bizarre vibration on it that shook the table (it wasn’t anyone shaking their leg, but it felt like it!); and the high seating at the bar felt precarious, not comfortable. More like a 4.5 star rating. I liked that they have homemade bread.
I rarely give a 5 rating! Foundation Social Eatery. I had a special that was a fried halibut sandwich. Good luck in getting this sandwich, it is not on the menu. Although I am trying so hard to keep it on their menu so if ever u visit first ask if it’s on the menu for the day. Get it if they do; u won’t regret it. The herbed fries are delish. All the food I have tried here has not been less than great. Everything TASTE fresh and clean. Oh btw, I’ve had all the desserts too. In a word YUM! Then to top that off the bartender Britt is a living doll! Go Enjoy.
Absolutely Wonderful!!!! Everything was delicious and Justin was so knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you for a great night!
Extremely nice experience. Should have made reservations on a Saturday night, but sat at the bar and had a great evening. The food was amazing and the staff was great.
Foundations Social Eatery has AMAZING food with knowledgeable and friendly staff. A great atmosphere for family and friends.
Outstanding food and service!!! We will be back. The part of the restaurant we were in was more brightly lit vs the other areas that had a bit darker, cozy atmosphere.
Oh my goodness! This place is delicious! The pate board, the sea bass and the mushroom ravioli is A-mazing. So much flavor you want to lick your plate! Great service by Julio. He gave great recommendations and not one disappointed. Down to the toffee pudding! We will be back! Great food!
Absolutely delicious! We loved everything we ordered tonight. The pate, octopus, mussel toast, duck breast, braised beef, and more. Very unexpected flavors on all the dishes, some that resembled the comfort of a home-cooked meal and others that were bold and adventurous. All in all, a fun rollercoaster ride for your mouth! The service was on a par with the food. Very attentive and super friendly. We couldn’t have asked for a better meal tonight.
Wow this place, IS amazing! The food was superb! Every dish had the best fusion of flavors. From the specialty cocktails and shared table plates to the main course to the deserts. The atmosphere is hip with a great vibe. Our server Brittney was knowledgeable of the menu, she complimented the experience. A few of my favorites were The Crisp Spanish Octopus, The Spanish Mussle "Escabeche" and The Confit Pork Ribs.
I was kinda nervous that you had to get dressed up to come here but you don't. We sat outside with the beautiful sunset, in the breezy air. The patio was the place to be on such a great weather day. The waiter was very nice and friendly and gave real suggestions on drinks and the food and gave great descriptions of what things were. The food was really great upscale food. We had the deviled eggs and this sourdough bread thing to start both of them were delicious. We had the scallops, hangar steak, mushroom ravioli and the burger. Everyone was quite satisfied with the portion, taste, quality and presentation of their plate. The cocktails were easy to drink which could be really dangerous...
Excellent restaurant! This is one of those places that you will love if you love food. It’s a place that you can be adventurous and try things you otherwise wouldn’t because everything is delicious! Have gone several times in the past year and even hosted a holiday party here because I wanted to share the food with the people with whom I work. Cocktails are amazing. Get the Ghosted. Devour the schnitzel.
Came here for a business dinner and was genuinely impressed. The food is downright amazing, with a wide variety of dishes that feel both creative and well-executed — and the cocktails are just as good. When we first arrived the atmosphere was quiet, which made conversation easy, but as the place filled up it definitely got louder. We weren’t shouting, but we did have to raise our voices a bit. Service was friendly and attentive, just a touch on the slow side — nothing terrible, but it could’ve moved a bit quicker. Overall, a great spot with excellent food and drinks and a lively atmosphere.
The best restaurant in downtown Alpharetta, hands down (& surrounding areas for that matter). The food, the service, the atmosphere is all unmatched. Have yet to have a dish where I walk away unsatisfied. Some favorites are the octopus, the ribs, and the rotating pasta dishes (specifically the lobster agnolotti). If you are a foodie, this spot if for You!
Had a reservation at a different restaurant that was too packed so we ended up here. We got a table right away and we quickly realized we should have started our night here to begin with. This place is a gem. Great service, bomb food. Perfect date night.
This restaurant is a great, fine dinner place. The food is divinely delicious, small portions and the price is moderate to high than normal restaurants. I thought it worths the price. If you want something fine and tasty to eat this is the place. Highly recommended.
I’ve dined in a lot of places….from back-alley food gems to white-tablecloth shrines to ego….but few spots have me planning my next visit before I even pay the check. This is that place. My father was a chef, so my standards aren’t just high…they’re haunted by childhood memories of food done right. So when I say this restaurant delivers? I mean it punches at heavyweight level every single time. I don’t leave reviews lightly. If you scroll through my history, you’ll see I’m not the type to gush for clout. But this place? Deserves a standing ovation. From appetizers like tender grilled octopus, beef tartare so fresh it borders illegal, or mussels that taste like they were flown in from a fishing boat in Normandy….everything is dialed in. The mains? The grilled hanger steak is a masterclass in execution, and their daily fish special always tastes like someone had a personal conversation with the ocean. The bar? Don’t even get me started. Whether you like your cocktails shaken, stirred, or philosophized over, the bartenders here craft drinks like they’re composing symphonies. Their Old Fashioned could square up against any craft bar in New York, and the wine list? Someone did their homework….with extra credit. This isn’t just my go-to. It’s my can’t-stay-away. No other restaurant within a 100-mile radius even gets in the same lane. Frankly, if you told me I could only eat one place in Georgia for the rest of my life, I wouldn’t hesitate. So here’s my humble suggestion to Michelin: before you hand out your next star, stop in. You’ll understand why I never shut up about this place….and why, after all these years, I still can’t get enough.
The best restaurant in Alpharetta. The menus change seasonally with fantastic flavor combinations. From the drinks, small plates, mains to desserts, thoughtful flavors that work beautifully together. Looking forward to our next visit. Excellent service from knowledgeable staff.
A locally-rooted restaurant featuring seasonal sophisticated dishes, with a laid back lofty atmosphere. The culinary team without a doubt focuses to incorporate unique flavor combinations to help tie all their dishes together. The intricate plating is not only eye catching, but the dishes deliver lots of bold flavors. The kitchen is an open concept to the guests eye, and helps showcase the hard work behind the scenes that is carefully crafted into each dish before sending to your table. The four stars for food is based on a few factors: -We dined around the 7:30 hour at the bar and a few dishes were already sold out. Leading us to pick other selections. It honestly surprised me a bit, considering how many seats the restaurant accommodates. -I did have to send back my hanger, as it was cooked on the rarer side than medium rare. Although the service team, especially Britt was on top of it. -Favorite dish was honestly dessert, we were so full, but convinced by Britt to try one. Corn Mousse was Devine, the caramel popcorn makes the dish; well done Chef Gus. Their bar + wine program: we loved the various curated dynamic cocktails. Too, the wines by the glass selection feature around the world varietals. All in all, we will be back for another experience.
Beautiful new space feels open & lofty yet intimate. Perfect for a date night or casual dinner with friends. Likewise, the food is elevated & beautifully presented, yet approachable. Our table of 4 tried & enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts, & cocktails with only a few quibbles - mainly that we found the delicious lamb neck for 2 and the turnip & ricotta tortelli were a bit salty after a few bites. That said, the mushroom ravioli was spectacular! As in, it'll be on my mind until I go back for a 2nd round (of which, this time, I won't be sharing!) I preferred the baguette that comes with the escargot over the bread service to sop up the ridiculously delicious mushroom sauce. The delicate, buttery scallop crudo is also not to be missed. Overall, it was a solid meal & worthy of a return visit soon!
Yummy food and cool atmosphere. The Cuban had well balanced flavor from the pulled pork to the mysterious herbs. The panna cotta was also delicious. Not too thick and garnished with sorbet and lemon thyme meringue. The only downside was the wait. It took way to long to get food during lunchtime.
Lovely place for a good lunch. Great pre fixe menu. Great wine list! I had a shrimp BLT that had nice extra large juicy shrimp in it and my friend had the mushroom tortellini. My only complaint is that for a more upscale restaurant the staff, although nice, were inappropriately attired in my opinion and could have been just a touch more attentive. But all in all, a great dining experience.
I would give this place a solid 5 if not for the weird lady at the host stand asking 20 questions, leading to a completely weird situation when we took seats at the bar the people behind us tried to snake while we talked to Miss 20 questions and they rolled right in. Great food. Great bar tenders!!
Food was awesome; service was slow and vibe was dull. I had sea bass which was great, octopus was awesome in starters, wine was great.
We were sat on the patio, directly in the sun. We asked to move and they declined our request, even though there were plenty of other seating options. The open tables remained open our entire dinner. We moved ourselves before our food came and there was no real issue. It was just strange. Food was fine. Wine was good. On my own accord, I would not choose to dine here again.
