Hoang Chinese Restaurant

What a surprising gem! Hole in the wall but fresh, crisp, and delicious food! We had vegetarian mu shu and salt and pepper fish. Both were delicious and well-seasoned. I will be craving that mu shu full of fresh veggies for awhile.

Delicious Chinese food in a wild west interior. Vegetarian soups and mains were delicious, and the waitress asked if egg was okay so they are happy to cater to vegans as well. Will stop here again my next time through!

The Food was Amazing, if you're a fan of the Delicious Food, you owe it to yourself to stop here and eat, the fresh veggies, the freshly cooked meats perfection, sauces all on Point, prices are fair and you can also call in for pick up. Great Location if you're local or visiting family like me this the spot for Dinners or Lunch.

Okay. This place is a gem 💎! Hidden away, WAY OUT HERE IN ALTURAS! I do not often leave glowing reviews. I'm very picky, and quite critical. This is one. This restaurant is on point for selection, quality, and fast service, and above and beyond for taste and preparation. Five stars, well-earned!

This is the BEST Chinese food we've had in a very long time! Hoang's has decent prices and you actually get a heaping amount of food! The food tasted good, too! We've been to a lot of Chinese food places, but none of them had flavor and they were way too expensive! I think we've found our new favorite Chinese restaurant!

This place was awesome. Sat down for dinner one night at Hoang’s while on a work trip. Whole staff was amazing and the food was delicious. My only wish is that it was closer to where I live.

Ordered snow pea beef, snow pea chicken, chicken chow mein and the cream cheese wontons. All were well made and tasty. The people were friendly and even offered to put the tub of ice cream i had into the freezer while I waited. Great place.

By far the best sesame chicken I have had. The staff is extremely friendly and hospitable. I haven't tried a dish from here that I did not like. Best Chinese food in the west!

After hiking all day, we were desperately seeking a place to sit down and eat at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Monday. Good luck during COVID in a small town. We were told Hoang’s might be open so we headed over there. To our delight, we had one of our best Chinese meals! The Mu Shu Chicken was the best I’ve ever had and my husband devoured the Kung Pao combination. The portions are very generous and the egg drop soup that came as a starter was very tasty. Our server and the many people coming in to pick up to go orders all wore their masks 😷. Thanks to the people of Alturas and the surrounding areas for supporting and keeping this restaurant open during the pandemic!

This is a restaurant that the locals all know and love. Consistently great food at a good price. If your new to town or are just passing through and need a quick stop, this is it. I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Best Chinese American food in the whole region (Big Valley and Fall River Valley to Surprise Valley). Great flavors, no msg, and obviously cooked with love! Thank goodness we found you!

Stopped in mainly because there were more cars in the parking lot than any other food place. Walked in and there was one couple eating. I was nervous sitting down. The woman seated us, gave us menus, made small talk and gave us recommendations. She was very nice and personable. We ordered sesame chicken and orange chicken with half pork fried rice and chicken chow mien. Truly enjoyed everything. More than enough food, and it was so good we ate all of it! After dinner, the owner’s son came over and gave us fortune, cookies and carried on polite conversation. These folks were so nice! The food was great! Keep up the great work!

Ordered 2 meals because I thought for the price the portions would be smaller. Oh boy was I wrong (but at least I have dinner for tomorrow). The fried rice was delicious, rely the only complaint I have on the food was that the lemon chicken wasn't lemony enough. It was good, just more like sweet glaze chicken instead of LEMON. I asked for a few more cookies and got a huge grab! Not mad about that at all! Great little stop in a small town on a busy stretch of back hwy!

The best Egg Flower Soup ever! Everytime we are in town, we HAVE to get a few containers of soup to take home. It is so good! We have a hundred Chinese restraunts where we live and none of them even come close to them. All of them taste like dish water compared to them. Love it so much!

Gave this 3 stars because this is a local business struggling during covid, This was the worst Chinese food I have had in a Decade. My Beef and Broccoli was so tasteless it bordered on cardboard. The noodles were greasy, and the rice was undercooked.
