Amazing BBQ. Visiting from Australia and wanted to have an authentic experience while in Texas. Cafeteria style ordering system means once you are at the front of the line you order and get your food immediately. Everything was hot and fresh, meats sliced right in front of you. Pictured- two meats plate with an extra side. Brisket, ribs, Jalapeño creamed corn, slaw, beans. Brisket was very smokey, which I’m not used to. Ate some and took the rest home. Very delicious but a lot for one sitting. Cosy atmosphere and outdoor seating if you want to sit in the sun or bring your dog. Would absolutely recommend!

Very excellent, authentic Texas BBQ! Has won a lot of awards, and easy to see why - their meats were delicious and sides were fine! Bit too hot in the summer (little AC), but the atmosphere was very fun.

Delicious! We got the 4 meat plate to share for 2 adults. We both loved the smoked sausage. The staff was really friendly and the owner was washing table and talking to customers. We enjoyed our meal and would go back.

I had the Ribs special (3 ribs, was given 5 but no complaints here, chips, and toast, with a drink for under $20). Great atmosphere, Tyler walks around and talks to people. A woman sitting next to me told me all about the town and everything. Great place, 12/10 would recommend.

As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted with smiles and enthusiasm. Before I ordered the food the soft smell of burning wood was telling me this is going to be good. I was wrong, it is GREAT! The guy serving the food sold me on the cobbler, as his pitch said, I understand why people comes for miles for it. It's on the pricey side, 20 bucks for a 1/2 rib and 2 sides but I got to say, it is worth it. Parking lot is pretty big, you could park a semi here, or just park on church street and walk a few feet.

I had ribs, brisket, beans, and coleslaw. The ribs and sauce were amazing! The brisket and the sides were good but not as stunning. The service really shined. All the staff were all nice, and one of them threw in a free drink. I overheard another person ordered a partial portion of food since they didn't want a full one, so they also comped their drink.

All were great but pork ribs were special.

Amazing place. Its well worth the visit. The people are are some of the most hospitable and kind staff I have ever met. They were extremely busy yet the were very fast and they still took the time to make me feel comfortable and welcomed. All the food was superb. We had the jalepeno sausage, brisket, ribs, peach cobbler, and the the creamed corn. We ordered togo which was a great experience, you can just call in advance and skip the very long line when you come.

I have never had Texas bbq before and this place did not disappoint! The staff was super nice and slice the meat right in front of you! The corn had a very nice kick to it as a side option. The meat was utterly AMAZING! I had the sliced brisket, ribs, and turkey. I could not believe how good it all was. The sauce had a nice kick go it as well. Definitely would eat here again!

Picked up a call in order. It was ready at the scheduled time and cashier service was great. When I got the food home, it was delicious in every way. We did the Saturday beef ribs, jalapeno cream corn, and pinto beans. Everything was full of flavor, and the meat was perfectly tender. Even when full, I wanted another bite. No wonder Tyler's is a top 50 BBQ joint in Texas.

Made a trip from WI and had Tyler’s as the #1 spot to eat. Was not disappointed and enjoyed it thoroughly! Our brisket was cut from a whole roast straight from the warmer. Excellent aroma, taste and fall apart in your mouth! Turkey, pork, and sausage are all phenomenal. Tyler took a few minutes to chat and the front line staff were very friendly. Bought the t-shirt and look forward to my next visit. This is Texas BBQ!!!

Really good example of traditional Texas BBQ. I had the brisket and hot sausage with green beans and potato salad. The sausage was great, perfect amount of hot. The brisket fell apart beautifully with just a fork and tasted great, though the crust was a little tough. The sides were as expected. I don't live in Texas, so it's great to have stellar Texas BBQ on a route I drive a lot. Definitely stopping again in the future.

Wow!!! Hands down one of the best places in Amarillo for BBQ! I dare say it is the best by far. I had lean brisket and ribs, both cooked to perfection. I'm talking tender, fall off the bone and melt in your mouth goodness. The jalapeno cream corn did not disappoint and the green beans packed full of flavor. My only complaint is that this place isn't open past 7pm. Ugh, why????? 😋 A bit on the pricey side but well worth it. This will be my go to for BBQ from here on!

Excellent bbq!!! We travel all over and have eaten every style of bbq. Hands down, one of the best briskets. Seasoned simply, great smoke flavor. Tender ribs, yummy sausage. Customer service excellent, had a lengthy conversation with the owner who is knowledgeable and proud of his food and neighborhood. Will definitely stop if in Amarillo again.

Fantastic place. After being in the restaurant industry and specifically BBQ for the last 20 years this place is solid. I have cooked BBQ and managed BBQ restaurants most of my adult life and Tyler's BBQ provides a great experience. The staff was pleasant and the owner was out having conversations and interacting with customers. A young lady came outside to check on me and she was fantastic with a great personality. An older gentleman with a cane ordered some food and I witnessed one of the staff members carrying his food and helping him to his car. As a service professional this is great to see. Good job Tyler's BBQ!!! Keep up the great work!

The jalapeño cream corn was amazing. I tried the ribs and brisket. I personally did not like the beans, I assumed bbq beans but these were more pinto. That was more my error, they seemed good quality.

I recently started eating meat after being vegetarian for 15 years and it’s places like this that remind me why I gave that lifestyle up. The ribs and brisket are so juicy and flavorful. And I highly recommend the jalapeño creamed corned! They are VERY dog friendly :) they have an outdoor seating area, a mini dog park and staff brought our pup some water right away.

Some of the best BBQ I've had in a very long time. I was really impressed by their side dishes (green beans and potato salad) but the ribs and brisket were on point! The cold Lone Star didn't hurt either! If you are looking for great food with good atmosphere, this has to be the top on your list when you are in Amarillo.

We were fortunate enough to try Tyler's BBQ during our visit to Amarillo. We made it just before they sold out and staff was very welcoming and friendly. I was not disappointed with anything that with had, family was very happy as well. Everything from the brisket, jalapeño sausage and the sides was great. Will definitely be coming back in the future and would advice to get there early so all meats are available to you before they sell out, very well worth it!

My son and I are from Idaho and had gone to Missouri to pick up a motorhome I had bought and drive it home. Because of bad weather in Nebraska and Wyoming, we planned a southern route that took us across the Texas panhandle. Neither of us having ever been to Texas, we decided to take advantage of this opportunity and stop for dinner at a Texas barbecue restaurant. Based on Google reviews, we chose Tyler’s in Amarillo, and, boy, are we glad we did! The atmosphere is exactly what we wanted in a barbecue restaurant and service was fast and friendly. We had ribs and brisket with sides of creamed corn with jalapeño, beans and potato salad. The ribs were great! Fall-off-the-bone tender and deliciously smoky - truly finger-lickin’ good! But the brisket was even better. It was so tender and flavorful that we couldn’t stop talking about it. But the dish that excited us the most? The creamed corn! What a surprise. Really creamy and fresh-tasting with just enough zip from jalapeño to make it interesting. We really enjoyed the entire meal and were pleased that we had enough to take half of it with us for left-overs in the motorhome the next evening. Thanks, Tyler’s, for a wonderful Texas barbecue experience!

My dad brought me to try out Tyler's BBQ - The food from here is delicious!! I love that the turkey isn't bland or dry, and the sides are so yummy, I wanted to get some Mac, but they only do that on Thursdays, and they were also out of pork, so I'll be back!! The brisket literally falls apart 😍. We both got 3 meat plates that come with 2 sides and bread, and we finished it off with some banana pudding, which was also so good!! My dad also bought some ribs they had in their little fridge section by the register, and I can't wait to make them. 😋 The owner comes by the table frequently to ask how everything was and chat with you for a bit. He is so nice!! Top BBQ place for sure, we will be visiting again!! They also have an outside patio, and you can bring your furry friends 🐶. There are too many good things to say about this place. If you're thinking of stopping by, DO IT!!! 🍽

I had the brisket sandwich and it was very good. I can’t believe it came with a side and drink for only $12.95. All the sauces are homemade and there is even a homemade robust mustard with lots of mustard seeds. Coleslaw and tea were also homemade and very good. It was super chill and no line at 4:00 PM on a Friday. A friend in Albuquerque recommend this place 3 times so I had to stop and they were spot on!

We were traveling through Amarillo and found Tyler’s. Lucky us! What a great BBQ restaurant! We shared the two meat meal with two sides. Had the ribs & brisket -and the coleslaw, potato salad & Jalapeño cream corn. The ribs and brisket were exceptional. Great smoke ring and flavor profile. The brisket was juicy. The ribs have a great snap to them but remain tender. Love the homemade barbecue sauces. Ended up mixing the original sauce with the spicy. Excellent sides. The cream corn was delicious as was the coleslaw - which is a Mayo base w a hint of vinegar. I am not normally a fan of potato salad - but Tyler’s was very good. This is a typical Texas BBQ style restaurant. You order your food at the counter. Then, seat yourself, grab the bbq sauces you want and pickup a drink. Plenty of seating options in a Texas themed roadhouse atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating and pets are welcome on the pet friendly patio. Excellent restaurant!! If you are in Amarillo, you must got to Tyler’s. You will be glad you did!

Everything was amazing. My wife and I stopped for lunch, she got the baked potato combo with chopped brisket, and I got the chopped brisket and sausage sandwich. It was the best BBQ I've ever had. The service was fast, friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great.

Best BBQ in the Texas Panhandle. Every year my brother and I make a roadtrip out to Utah. On our way back how to Waco, we always stop at Tylers for some bbq. The brisket and ribs are tender and juicy, and the turkey is right on the money. My brother is a huge fan of the beans as well.

We will be back for sure. I had the 2 meat plate with Brisket and turkey. sides were potato salad and beans. The brisket was perfectly cooked with great bark and was very tender. The star was the turkey though. It was perfectly juicy tender perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of black pepper. I love black pepper. My wife had the ribs they were excellent tender juicy. My wife wants to go back and try the beef ribs I am in. Lol I forgot to take pictures till we had all ready eaten a few bites. UPDATE 3/18/2023 BEEF RIBS ARE AMAZING. only available on Saturday till sold out. Will make this a regular. Also had pork belly burnt-ends. New favorite there also. You must try these 2 items. I got both of these to go with no sides. Not cheap but well worth the price!!!!!

If I could give more stars, I would. When you hear there is nothing better than Texas BBQ, then they must have ate at Tyler's BBQ. This place is one of the Best BBQ places I have visited. My wife and I were driving through Amarillo and decided to stop for lunch and we both glad we did. I love the layout of the restaurant. You order your food from the person who cuts and prepares your food. They cut the meat right in front of you. Very nice people behind the counter, Texas hospitality at its best. We ordered a brisket and pulled pork sandwiches. Sides of beans and potato salad, both were amazing. The brisket and pulled pork were so tender and amazing taste. The BBQ sauces were great. I also ordered a bread pudding, best I've ever had. You can't get BBQ like this in California, that's for sure.

Stopped here for lunch on our way to see Cadillac Ranch! It’s nice that they allow dogs on their patio, but it is a bit windy, so we ate in the car :) The food was delicious! I had the dinner brisket plate with potato salad and green beans. The brisket was AMAZING! So tender and perfect. My husband had the brisket sandwich with a side of beans. He reports that the sandwich was great! Friendly staff!

Might be the best bbq I've ever had in my life. We stopped here on the way back to Georgia and I'm so glad we did. The pulled pork sandwich and the Frito pie were delicious. Also, the people who work there were so nice and friendly. Stop by here because you will not be disappointed!

I always prepare myself for disappointment when I go to "media acclaimed" restaurants. This place is the real deal. It has been a long time since I enjoyed BBQ this good in a restaurant. The ribs are tender and juicy. The sausage is really flavorful. The brisket is spot on. The sides taste like they were made in grandma's kitchen. If you have a chance, try it out. You will not regret it. Pro tip, get there early because their is usually a line.

Best bbq we've had anywhere! The brisket was peppery, moist, and so tender. The ribs were perfection. Excellent rub on ribs with a slight sweetness. Potato salad, green beans, and pinto beans all prepared with the same care that the meat is given. You will not regret eating here.

The food was amazing! And the smell of the BBQ when walking in just took our breath away with the aroma of wood! We had the 4 meat plate with pork, chopped brisket, spicy cheddar sausage & ribs. Omg it was more than enough for me! The jalapeno corn was my favorite along side with the homemade banana pudding! I wasn't a fan of the potato salad. But the rest of it did not disappoint! My girls had the 3 rib plate and still couldn't finish it! The staff there was super friendly and because we were traveling I did not want to waste any food we had left. I mentioned about only having a cooler available, so a box wouldn't fit. They offered to wrap it up tightly for me in foil and plastic. They did an amazing job, from the pure kindness to the great food. It was all amazing! From being a former manager of a BBQ restaurant for years, this place has got the crew and the food it needs and deserves to run proficiently and successfully! If we are ever back in Texas we will come back here!

The only good thing about Amarillo is this place. DELICIOUS ribs and brisket. We ordered the 3 meat plate with 2 sides. It was plenty of food for 2-3 adults easily. The staff was friendly and the patio was great for the dog.

On drive back from Colorado, had this place on my list to try. It was a late lunch and they had run out of sliced brisket, so went with chopped brisket sandwich, jalapeno cream corn, pork belly bites, and peach cobbler. The service was friendly from everyone working there. I took it to go since I wanted to hike Palo Duro before the sun set. The pork bites are worth it! The jalapeno cream corn had a little kick that was good and the sandwich hit the spot. Peach cobbler was taken home so that I could heat up and eat a la mode.

This is the place to go for some great BBQ! We wanted to try some Texas BBQ while visiting Amarillo and were not disappointed! We ordered takeout to take to eat at a local brewery. It was busy at lunchtime but we were quickly in and out. We shared a three meat platter which came with two sides. It was more than enough for the two of us! Highly recommend!

For years I worked security at the Memphis in May BBQ Festival and was blessed enough to have tried some of the best BBQ from across the country and around the world. Tyler's is in the top 5 I have ever eaten in my life. The brisket alone is was smokey, moist heaven. The spice on those fall off the bone ribs, my God. I usually don't like spicy ribs like that, but the balance of flavor made me want more. The biggest surprise was the jalapeño corn. The spice builds as you eat it but the butteriness makes you just not care. Divine. The staff were amazing and got the order fast. Yall are doing God's work. 5 stars isn't enough.

Awesome award winning BBQ!!! Possibly the best I’ve had and I’ve been on a quest to find the best BBQ! So extremely tender and flavorful! I didn’t even need BBQ sauce. They have so many awards on their wall and I can see why. I had the plain moist brisket just so I could try it. My husband had the chopped sandwich plate with cream corn and tea. He said it was delicious and a great value. They are definitely dog friendly on their spacious patio with cool water. And the patio is well thought out and smart outdoor fans and misters to make it cooler. They also have a grass area for dogs to do their business. Come for the amazing BBQ !

Best BBQ ever. If grandpa forgets to bring his teeth order the ribs, no teeth required. It looks like a little hole in the wall but the line moves quick, and it is so worth the wait.

The food here is Amazing, and I am glad that they had some left when I arrived on 7.6.2024. I have traveled across Texas and tried many BBQ places, but this is one of the best ones I've discovered. The peppercorn sausage, and beef brisket were Awesome and the jalapeno cream corn was Outstanding. I am not a fan of potato salad, but the one here was good. Got there right after they opened, and just in time to get the last beef rib. Had a beef rib, brisket, cheddar jalapeno sausage, and green chili mac and cheese. It's honestly hard to review, because I've never had anything like Texas barbecue. Everything on this plate had a unique flavor, and blended so well together. This is undoubtedly the best quality and best prepared beef I have ever had. I would spend two days driving down here from North Dakota just to eat at Tyler's again. If you happen to pass through Amarillo, you need to make time to stop here.

If you are staying in or passing through Amarillo and looking for a great experience, forget the 72oz steak place and do yourself a favor and try the Ribs and Brisket at Tyler’s BBQ and follow it up with some banana pudding!! 🍖 BRISKET is delicious here! We had the sliced brisket sandwich, chopped brisket and sausage sandwich, pork belly bites with spicy berry sauce on top and cream corn. Everything was perfectly cooked, tasted great, staff was very friendly and we sat outside on the pet friendly patio with our pups. 🐕 The parking lot looked packed but inside we only had to wait in line for one person to finish his order. Absolutely the best bbq I've had in texas. The ribs fell off the bone and needed no sauce, the flavor was great. The mac n cheese which has onion and green chileez was incredible. (Only served on thursdays) just a heads up! The service was great also! I would definitely recommend to anyone especially if your from out of town.

Fantastic bbq at a reasonable price. I had the brisket and hot links with two sides, jalapeno creamed corn and beans. The standout was obviously the brisket, with a delicious char and so tender you barely had to use the fork. The surprise was the jalapeño corn. It was so spicy and flavorful. I just wish it wasn't so far from home.

Highly recommended for brisket lovers! The meat is cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and seasoned just right. The atmosphere truly enhances the restaurant experience, and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. A minor point of refinement: When we first approached the restaurant, it looked quiet and a bit deserted, to the point we wondered if they might be closed. The blinking “Open” sign was our clue! Once inside, though, the entire experience pleasantly contradicted that initial impression. Kudos to Isaiah and the cashier! They were both exceptionally kind, helpful, and welcoming throughout our visit. Their genuine smiles and attentiveness really elevated the entire experience.

The smokes pork belly is heaven, my go to is turkey with some sausage, tater salad and some of the greatest beans ever. Tyler's serves some amazing barbecue. Being in Texas, I had to try their brisket and it was super delicious. When we came during lunch hours, there were no beef ribs available so we ended up ordering pork ribs, and they were just as delicious as the brisket. In order to try their beef ribs, we came the next morning right at the open, and got the ribs and a few more slices of brisket. If I said that the brisket was super delicious, the beef ribs were even better. Two thumbs up! This is a must visit place in Amarillo that I strongly recommend.

The only reason for the 4 stars was —-it was good actually but the beans and the ribs were too spicy for me. I ate more of his sandwich then my ribs I gave them to him I could only get one down.

Great bbq! While it won’t be the best bbq I have ever had, I was surprised that it was quite delicious. The hot bbq sauce was sweet and spicy, green beans were classic but yummy and the ribs were the star! The chicken was very dry but the flavor was there. Don’t miss out of the peach cobbler either. It’s more like peaches and spice cake but it was the best way to finish the meal. Only complaint was that some the employees had their mask below their nose the whole time we were there. Update: returned a week later and not a single employee had a mask on and no sanitizer in sight.

Ordered the rib special. The ribs were so delicious and did not need any sauce either. They were so tender as well. The potato salad was just ok. The toast was good. The service was amazing. We enjoyed the atmosphere.

We stopped here on our drive from Phoenix to Alabama. I'm a barbecue junky so it was fun to eat some real Texas barbecue in Texas. The brisket was smoky with good flavor. I really loved the jalapeño corn side and the slaw was light and refreshing. Bonus points for the self-serve Coke fountain. It's a cool joint and worth the stop.

We were anxious to give this place a try since they say it's ranked the best in Amarillo. The brisket was very good but the ribs weren't quite what I was expecting. They weren't your fall off the bone type of ribs like I was expecting but it was okay. I still like Mission BBQ the best.

The food's good. It's pretty much self serve for everything, and it's a little high priced. The food's not that good, you know. I did see the sign for yelp rated them very high. But I just felt like there's other places in town that had just as good of food, better atmosphere, and a little less pricey, but barbecue is expensive. So it's to be expected

I was passing through the area and wanted Texas BBQ. Flavor was good. I had the brisket sandwich. It was smaller than my side of coleslaw amd my hand completely covered the sandwich lol. I did like the coleslaw and the lemonade was great!

Solid brisket that was easy to cut with a fork. Didn’t fall apart, but wasn’t tough. Really good bark. A little dry on the finish, but overall solid. The rub on the ribs was excellent. The Jalapeño Cream Corn and potato salad were good sides to complement the salt of the meat. I give the atmosphere a 4 but to be fair I came on a Tuesday night about 45 minutes before closing so it was pretty slow. Great Texas BBQ in Amarillo!

I got the 2 meat dinner. The brisket was just ok. It was dry and lean. I prefer fatty brisket and if you do, i would get chopped or tell them. I should have. The ribs were very good and the hot bbq was pretty good. The jalapeño cream corn was great. Service was great Meat portion was a bit small Overall it was good and i would go back but not for brisket flat. Smoke flavor was good but nothing extraordinary beyond that. 7.30.24 We tried this place for lunch. I got a 2 meat plate with ribs and fatty brisket along with potatoe salad, beans, and a banana pudding. The ribs were amazing, but that's about it. Beans and potatoe salad were nothing special at all, barely touched them. The sliced brisket looked promising but a big letdown, not much flavor. The banana pudding was super sweet and mostly just pudding with just a few bananas and 1 large cookie, I may have tried half at best before tossing it. Sweet tea wasn't that sweet, just enough to be different. Friendly service and nice atmosphere, but food takes the ratings down. Our group of 8, overall, we were not very impressed with food, esp given the awards this place has. We've had a lot better and not so good. Not a recommendation, I can give, unless you want some ribs, then a maybe.

I decided to try out Tyler’s while I was in town for work. I was excited to try because I enjoy good bbq, but was disappointed with the food. Now, I did go for dinner 30 minutes before closing, but my brisket seemed over cooked, dry, and had a really strong smoke flavor. The ribs were cooked to perfection, but I am not a big sweet bbq sauce fan. The sides were good and the peach cobbler was really good. The atmosphere of the place was inviting, and the staff were friendly. Also, the owner was walking around checking on everyone, and I think that is great customer service. This place, by reading the other comments, is known for its brisket it seems. When I am back in Amarillo I would definitely try again, definitely at lunch though as it seems they may be more of a lunch spot.

Side of beans had little flavor. Side of jalapeno cream corn had good flavor but corn was chewy. Couldn't finish. Bread pudding was good but tasted like cinnamon roll. Had brisket and sausage. Both were good but nothing spectacular. Lemonade was watered down. Whole meal was pricey for the amount you get. Wouldn't choose again.

Well not a fan. People and staff were friendly and professional, place was clean and inviting , no issues there. I thought the meat was tender HOWEVER, it was tasteless, no seasoning or flavor. To me good BBQ doesnt need sauce . This Bbq needed sauce and it left kind of an charcoal fluid after taste in my mouth. Maybe it was the cook on this day. I had ribs and brisket. The coleslaw was delicious but the bbq beans were just well cooked pinto beans with a mild bbq flavor seasoning ,not a fan. BBQ acceptance varies by person and area of country so not saying horrible but not MY kind of BBQ.

Service (9/10): It just feels good to be back in Texas again after 3 months. Everyone was super nice. Even though I ordered a pound of brisket, I was charged for the chopped brisket, which is about $7 cheaper. Brisket (4/10): This was a huge disappointment. The brisket was toooo thick, making each slice very wide, precluding good distribution of seasoning. And there wasn’t much seasoning to start with! The brisket wasn’t cooked well too. I saw a decent smoke ring, but the meat didn’t feel smokey. It also didn’t fall apart in my mouth like jelly. Good brisket does that. Jalapeño cream corn wasn’t anything to write home about. We really weren't impressed with the brisket sandwiches. Very smokey flavor wich was great but there was no rub flavor. We got here at 1:20 pm the brisket was dry. NO DISRESPECT To Tyler's Barbeque. But I never use az ny bbq sauce when I get brisket from Burn't N'z pit crew in Laveen, Arizona. So if any bbq lovers are ever in Arizona please try Burn't N'z pitcrew and I swear you will know a DELICIOUS BRISKET, PULLED PORK, AND RIBS! Finger licking deliciousness

Was super excited to try this place out since it’s listed as one of the top 50 BBQ places in Texas. You could definitely smell the BBQ as we waited in a line out the door. We ordered brisket, rib and three sides and we were lucky to get the mac’n cheese! The side portions were less than minimal for the prices - in pics. The beef had a good crust of seasoning but the meat itself tasted like boiled beef - no true BBQ smoke or flavoring through the beef. Staff were friendly but was disappointed!

We have family and friends who recommended Tyler’s Barbeque to us and were pleased to try it while visiting Amarillo. Let me positively affirm the service was fantastic (and very friendly)! The atmosphere was second to none!!! Fun atmosphere, decorations and home town feel. Loved that! The barbecue SAUCE was amazing! Try the jalapeño cream corn. That was good. That’s the best of Tyler’s. The brisket and pulled pork was very dry and absent the anticipated smoky flavor. The sausage was even overcooked (but this was flavorful). The white bread wasn’t even toasted or buttered. I paid more than $23 for a two-meat dinner plate and the portion size was unreasonably small for the price charged (see my photo). Tyler’s is way overpriced. It is not worth the money if you are considering a dinner plate.

With such a great rating, why was the parking lot empty as it appeared to be closed. Never doing that again, going inside a restaurant when it's empty.

I follow Tyler's Barbecue on Instagram and I was going to be in Amarillo for the Christmas holiday. I made sure that no matter what, I would order something before heading back to my hometown. Unfortunately I did not get to experience the dine-in, but the drive thru. I judge a barbecue place by their brisket, ribs, and pork. The drive thru menu is easy to read, so quickly I saw a combination plate that had two of the three meats I wanted to try. I hoped to have fries as a side, but that was not an option. The guy taking my order sped through the side options so fast and understandable I had to ask three times what my options were. He sighed and dramatically rolled his eyes. The only thing I heard was chips. I apologized for not being able to understand him and told him that this was my first time trying Tyler's. He apologized for saying the options so fast, threw in some extra ribs, and continued to apologize several times. I was not upset that I could not understand him, but by the way we treated me and spoke to me. Also, him rolling his eyes, shaking his head, and frustration told me this question is probably asked often, and he's annoyed with having to repeat the sides. The brisket was dry and super rubbery. It did detach as it should when pulled apart. The smoke ring was barely visible. The outer skin was my favorite because of how crunchy it was, but the flavor of the brisket was not good. The pork sandwich was dry and I had to add barbecue sauce to moisten it up. The sauce provided did not help the flavor. I ended up using a different kind. The ribs were the best part. They were very juicy and had a decent flavor. I ended up not finishing any of my food. Oh, and back to the chips. The guy asked if regular lays were okay. I said sure. I wasn't even going to eat them, but whatever. As you can see in the picture, I was given Ruffles. I hope this was just an off day. I'll give you another try next time I'm in Amarillo, Mr.Tyler Frazer. I hope the barbecue is better then, and the hospitality won't roll their eyes and me.
