I ordered two oxtail plates with rice & peas and sweet potatoes, plus a jerk chicken Rasta pasta. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. The oxtail was cooked perfectly—tender, rich, and seasoned right. Portions were solid, not skimpy at all. The rice and peas hit the way they’re supposed to, and the sweet potatoes were a standout—soft, flavorful, and just straight up good 🤤. The jerk chicken Rasta pasta was fire too. The chicken-to-pasta ratio was on point, and the jerk sauce paired really well with the creamy pasta sauce without overpowering it. You could tell care went into it. Overall, great food, great portions, and everything tasted made with intention. I’d definitely order from here again.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Caribbean Soul and received a generous sample of her amazing menu. The official opening will be next week and I’m already planning a visit. Where to begin? Fluffiest sweet potato mash, incredible mac & cheese, my wife devoured the collard greens, the oxtail was so tender. Wishing Caribbean Soul lines out the door, yum!

The owner is very kind and sweet !! Food is very good like a home cooked meal. LIVE DJs On Fridays which is a nice vibe. The lemonade is sooooo good I got the blueberry one and I wish I can buy it by the gallon. Great menu with a lot of delicious choices. The yams is like someone grandma is back there! They have jerk Mac & cheese 😱 the cornbread is sooooo moist and just melt in your mouth! The turkey wing was nicely seasoned and was the best im still thinking about it. Love the sticky sauce that came in my boneless chicken chunks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVE THIS place!!!!!! The food is delicious every time. My favorite items to order are the Lemon Pepper Catfish Bites and the Mac N Cheese. Why are they my favorite? Because the fish is the most crispy, seasoned and flavorful fried fish I’ve ever had. I mean it is unforgettable. The Mac is the cheesiest delight. Ughhhhh……..🤤 However, I have tried the garlic Parmesan wings, fried shrimp, chicken chunks (fried and honey), stuffed salmon, collard greens, Mac salad, corn bread, and sweet potatoes. I’ve dined in and ordered to go a number of times.

I tried taking a picture before I ate but the smell called and I couldn’t put the fork down after the first bite. 10/10. The oxtail was literally fall off the bone. One of the best collard greens I had in such a long time and the rice and peas was so delicious! The cornbread so soft and sweet. The jerk wings are great too. 10/10 experience! Can’t wait to go back and try that chicken Rasta pasta we got a chance to try! PLATE CLEANED!

You can truly taste the love coming out of the kitchen at Caribbean Soul Food Delight in Mount Vernon. Every bite of food feels like it was made with intention and care. I had the spicy salmon rasta pasta, easily the best rasta pasta I’ve ever had, creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The cornbread (corn cake) was soft, warm, and freshly made, and the cabbage was incredibly juicy and seasoned just right. I spoke with the owner and was blown away to hear that everything is made from scratch, they don’t even use butter in any of their dishes! You can really tell that quality and health-consciousness matter here. They also offer catering, which I will definitely keep in mind for future events. This spot is a gem in Mount Vernon, full of heart, flavor, and soul. Highly recommend!

This place hit past my expectations. Everything was good. Seasoned through and through. Falling off the bone. The owners were amazing people. The atmosphere was perfect. It totally sealed the entire evening. Date night made perfect. As a cook myself, this food was like being at grandma's dinner table. As a foodie they place has found a special place in my heart. Definitely will be returning. If you haven't checked them out definitely do. Did I mentioned we traveled to get here? So can you !

I wanted to get a meal nearby after church so Google suggested this spot. The owner was nice and gave me a taste of her Jerk Mac and Cheese. Will definitely return. For those looking for pork or turkey in the collards, there isn’t any but they were still tasty. Cornbread was 💯

Great food and positive vibes! We needed to find a place to eat while stuck in Saturday evening traffic. Asked Yelp and Google to find something convenient off the Hutch and were so happy it directed us here! We got really lucky because they were closing early for the night to cater a party, but they were happy to take care of us a half hour before closing. Because of the timing and the catering party coming up, some of their menu was limited, but Neek (who is SO AWESOME and vibrant!) recommended the jerk chicken chunks and the fried chicken leg and thigh. We also got a fried pork chop sandwich to go. Also because of the timing we got paper plates rather than the regular plates that other tables had gotten, but I would have eaten the food right off the table since it was so good! The jerk stew (we got mild) was sweet and deliciously spicy. The sweet potatoes the mac and cheese are definitely must tries! Overall would definitely come back whether or not there’s traffic! Thank you!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. When I first heard about it, they were in the process of transitioning to a new location, so I had to wait until they got settled. Even now that they’ve reopened, the hours seem a bit inconsistent, so I’d recommend checking Google before heading over. The place itself was clean, and the owner was friendly, which I appreciated. I ordered the fried whiting with rice, mac and cheese, and cornbread. The rice was good, though a little mushy for my taste. The whiting was good and nicely cooked. The mac and cheese was also good and enjoyable. The cornbread was interesting the texture was different from any cornbread I’ve had before. It wasn’t bad, but I don’t think I’d order it again. The price point felt a bit high, though the portion sizes were generous. I personally struggle with paying a premium for takeout food. Would I go back? Probably, but not out of my way. Overall, the food was okay, but it didn’t quite have that “wow” factor that would make me eager to return.

This was our 1st time at the restaurant. We found the restaurant looking up our closest Soul food place to our home. We are happy we did because we almost went all the way back into the city. We have to say we were very pleased with our experience. This place doesn't have a lot of tables but I expect them to need to add more because this place should be packed. The portions are perfect. I ordered the fried shrimp and I have to say it was too delicious. The breading was light and flaky. I got to try the fried whiting, and it was so fresh and tasty. The only reason I knocked off a star was because I didn't really love the sweet potato. They were too sweet and lost some of the natural flavors. The last thing I wanted to mention was the corn bread. I had no photos because it didn't stand a chance. It was closer to a moist cake consistency and kissed with honey on the top. Not too sweet, but I could probably eat a whole sheet pan of it. Go here guys it's yummy but a bit pricey as most soul food restaurants are. 😋 Bravo to the 👩‍🍳 chef 👏
