Hella friendly staff, good beer, and slamming pretzels!!! This is a craft beer lovers safe haven! The staff if is very knowledgeable when it comes to tree beer and local beer! Come thru have a beer and enjoy!
Awesome local brewery with some of the best beers around and great jams playing. Please start opening earlier on Fridays! Need my weekend growler before I hit the road home after work! This place will not disappoint, support the local brew-house!
Great place to hang out with friends in Queens. It feels like it's kindin the middle of nowhere but it's worth coming all the way here to sample some very impressive artisan beers. They also have board games and some good pretzels for 5 dollars. Beers are around $7.
Great spot to kick back and enjoy some refreshing microbrews! Also, plenty of seating so you shouldn't have a problem if you want to sit back and relax. Weekend afternoons do get busy so make sure not to get there too late!
GREAT Brewery!!!! The beers are amazing. Some of my all time favorite IPA's are from Singlecut. Nice friendly atmosphere. The food, though not a large selection is really good. Try the tacos!! Bartenders are friendly and you can always get a sample before you buy. I've filled many growlerfs here too. If there was 1 complaint it would be that sometimes there is a beer that they don't do growlers and only allow you to buy cans.
Yes I gave it five ⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️. very friendly bartenders. Very professional and knowledge. They had live band which was very cool. Craft beers more than you can count. I like IPAs , they several types. I’ve visited about three times and plan on going back again soon. update 4/23/19 went back last night. Had some more IPAs and pork tacos 🌮. Also took home 22 oz Growler can of same IPA I had there 5 stars ⭐️ 8/17/19 in again for another IPA . Don’t ask which one.🤪I also picked up this T shirt. Back after a while. 2-24-20 Came back during this virus pandemic. Had to get order to go unfortunately. I got 4 pack of 18 -Watt. Pretty bummed I had to get it to go but I enjoyed never the less. Hope to see you soon hope you’re back to business soon. Stay safe
Great selection of beers. Large inside and even some outdoor tables. Mostly want to say their customer service is extremely responsive and helpful. I contacted them through google maps (didnt even know that could be done), and had a response and solution to my billing inquiry within minutes. All in all a Great place, good beer and great pricing on the beer as well. But, Above all customer service is spot on. Will be back
Great beer! I especially like the lagers and sours. Nice atmosphere with outdoor seating, clean bathrooms and a convenient self-serve water tap.
Really nice wee brewery. Staff werr very nice and helpful. Really enjoyed the Levon, very light beer but citrusy. Also the Queens Lager was very tasty. Enjoyed this brewery plus the smell was fine. Sometimes some breweries are so overpowering. Will certainly return
SingleCut is an excellent place for craft beer and tacos. I love the combination of the two. It's fun when new people who are on the NYC beer tour come through. We watch them and watch their faces to see if they like the beer that day.
Oh, Singlecut, how I love thee so! In all seriousness, a trip that has been years in the making finally happened, and it was well worth the wait. The beers were excellent as usual. More Cowbell on nitro was simply divine. Perfect for a cold January night. The rest of the lineup was equally good. The service was also excellent. I've noticed that some of the "trendy" breweries these days don't always put much emphasis on service anymore. Not the case with Singlecut. Warm, friendly, and happy to chat about beer! The aesthetic of the brewery is also pleasing. In a nice little neighborhood, too. The kind of place I'd hang at regularly if I lived nearby. Singlecut, thank you for being you, and don't ever stop what you're doing.
First time at Singlecut- they have a good selection of beers ranging from sours, IPAs, ales and lagers. I was a fan of their golden ale. We tried their cheddar truffle pretzel, which was yummy. They also have stacks of fun board games available.
An IPA haven with mostly unfiltered brews, SingleCut takes the cake for best brewery in Queens in my book. Nice variety of beers on tap, both flagship and regulars as well as one offs. This place will keep you pleased. Plenty of space with outdoor seating and parking nearby. Board games for hanging with friends and less riff raff and noise in comparison to the Ditmars Blvd drag.
Singlecut was my 'local' for 3 years and I can't speak more highly of it. The staff are all wonderful and the beer is consistently great with a good range of styles. Large clean space with plenty of seating. Pinball in the back and a really good pizza shop across the road. Trivia on Friday is always a good time too. It's a little bit of a walk from the closest train but absolutely worth it.
This place is amazing! Amanda (who isn't the owner but really could be), is a plethora of knowledgable. She was able to recommend multiple choices for someone less than beer savvy, while being patient and personable. Nate is also amazing and was quick with help. Highly recommend this place for a group gathering or a quick drink. Go there, you will not be disappointed!!
Amazing Local bar! Great beer! They have a wide variety of beer to select from! Always updating their selection & you Cant go wrong with an order of tacos!! Friendly, down to earth staff! Always jamming out to classic vinyl!! Been here for couple trivia nights & even the world cup a while ago. Pretty fun chill atmosphere, if you never been I'd highly recommend you check them out!
Went here for an event last week and was pleasantly surprised. The beer varieties were awesome. Try their IPA and half and full cuts. Also, great interior with space for a band. There were also board games sporadically placed. Great brewery to visit if you are in the Astoria area!!!
This is a great spot to escape the city, but still be in it. The brewery is situated by a very quiet neighborhood with no view of Manhattan. It really makes you feel like you're out for drinks in a small town. The beer itself is good, but the selection is pretty IPA and Pale Ale heavy. If you're a fan of light beers, you'll find that you don't have too many options.
Very cool place. I like such authentic places that combine a bar with a brewery and with something to bite. You can’t find very much of them in such a busy area. The beer was superb. I got the chance to do some beer tasting and I fell in love with the Plaintop pilsner, probably because I have a taste for European beers. The half-stack IPA and the 18-WAT IPA were also pretty good, too. And I had a good chuckle with the Chocolate milk Stout, nice one there. The kitchen is decent and not pretentious. Good old tacos and plates with cheese and some meat. You can’t ask for more. The atmosphere is good. It was a bit full and we barely managed to get a table outside. But I’m not complaining, the place is good and people like it. And it was worth it. The staff was swift, polite and seemed to handle the crowd with ease. Oh, and they have a great gift store. I got myself a cool t-shirt and a 5-liter keg. And friend of mine got very nice hat and a cool growler. I got my brother one, too. I would recommend this place to all of mine beer-loving friends! Cheers!
I had a small gathering there for my birthday and loved it. The beers are really, really good. The service is good -- Amanda took good care of us. I love the decor and the rock/guitar theme. It's great to see a small craft brewery open in Queens -- especially in Astoria. I hope it grows and succeeds.
I love craft beers and this place delivers. The bartenders were all very knowledgeable and friendly. The place has a super chill vibe. I'd like if they brewed more ales and fewer lagers, though their sour lagers are still very good. Our group had one negative interaction with a server who told us that we "had to go back to Manhattan" when we asked her about where to catch the bus back into the center of Astoria.
Nice open space to hang out and catch up with friends. Usually, the noise level is manageable before the band shows up. If you're into loud, live music and conversations, this is the place for you in the evenings. I prefer a quiet conversation over a nice beer so I don't stay later in the afternoon. There are a lot of good beer choices. Food options are limited for now until the kitchen is renovated.
Listen, this is the spot for great beers and an even better vibe. Walking in feels great, like your walking into your good friends basement who's having a kegger. Everyone who works here feels like they WANT to be here. Super friendly, great music (they play vinyl), generally just loud enough to feel exciting but you can still converse with others without yelling. Good mix of clientele, not just hipsters. I try to stop in whenever I'm in Astoria. Can't beat it for beers and music. Food options vary but are pretty solid and interesting, but it varies. Bring a board game or check one out there too while slamming pints. It will be worth your time!
Awesome experience! Bartenders Amanda and Nate were great! Lagers and chocolate stout were our favorites! We had a ton of fun, we will definitely be back and we will be bringing our friends!
Friendly staff and cool ambiance. They play some pretty cool music from a nicely displayed vinyl collection. The beer selection is skewed toward IPA's but that is probably to follow the latest trends. They have a nice little selection of small plates to nosh on. It's out of the way but that might be a good thing to keep the crowds at bay.
Fun Friday night spot. Especially in the summer. They have outdoor seating. Large beer selection, not a lot of food choices but the burger was fire. If you are not a beer drinker they have cider. So good. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Lots of parking.
Great vibe! Walked in, music going, vinyl records spinning, Ghostbusters on huge screen and lots of great IPA s on tap! Sampled four"short pours", 5oz. each, and one was better than the other. Really liked the bartender recommendation, "Workers are going home" double IPA, really was awesome! Definitely looking forward to returning, especially with the second floor addition coming soon.
Either my first or second favorite brewery in New York. A fantastic selection of beers that are continuously rotating. Always something new. Check the website for the latest releases. The space has a laid back atmosphere with room to hang out inside and outside. Makes me want to move back to Astoria. Actually can I live there?
Having tried their brews, we had to take a trip to Astoria, to check out the taproom. We were delighted with the tap selection. We stopped by on Father's day and the place was hopping. Very enjoyable experience, highly recommend it. Mighty real was our favorite.
My husband enjoyed the lagers very much. I’m not a beer person so there wasn’t any options for me. You can bring your own outside beverages & food. We were passing through during a long flight wait. Staff was very nice & friendly. It is super clean too.
Hands down best brewery you could ever walk into. Staple of the neighborhood. Several times I have left this place thinking this is the best beer I have ever had. Love this place. Great people. Separated but close to everything location.
This brewery is amazing!!! Ridiculously legit. Some of the best craft beer I've had in NYC! Their IPAa are stellar! You really can't go wrong. It's a bit out of the way in beautiful suburban Astoria, but the trip is completely worth it. The bartenders are all super nice and chill, the beer is reasonably priced, and the menu is always interesting with a nice rotating draft. The brewery itself is spacious with a huge seating area. I also appreciate that they don't blast music so people aren't screaming in order to talk to each other. Not really a sports bar feel, but they do play games on the screen sometimes. The music is always good and you can check out the record they are jamming if you are interested since they always have it on display behind the bar. One night when I was there I saw a couple next to me pull out some UNO cards and get into an intense game, I almost wanted to join in! There's also a changing table in the bathroom, so feel free to bring your baby and enjoy an IPA at the same time. I'm all about Singlecut, check it out, bring your baby, grab a cold brew, play a game of UNO. I'm telling you, this is the place to be!!!
A walk from the Astoria ditmars stop, singlecut is an excellent brewery with a range of delicious IPAs souurs and stouts. Food offered on premises is a great companion to the beers and plenty of take away options in crowlers, growlers and cans. If you're looking for a beer destination add this one to you must visit list.
Great fun place!! We were in sour way to the airport. And looking for a place to enjoy before 4h waiting And was awesome!!! Food was tasty and the guy who served was very friendly!! Those churros and the end…. Huuuuum With strawberries 🍓 recommend 👍👍👍 💯
Incredible beers, incredible food, and the kindest staff. Worth the trek!
Good selection of local beer in a bar attached to a brewery. Space to hang out with a date or with friends. Stay as long as you want. Normally not too crowded. A neighborhood gem. Airy and open with pinball machines in the back next to the beer vats. Bring your own food. Occasional live music.
One of the country’s best breweries right in Astoria AND next to a grocery store (grocery shopping always better after a couple drinks). The brewery has cozy indoor space, ample outdoor space, and the folks running the bar are kind and knowledgeable — nothing is pretentious. If you’re an aviation geek, sit outside, as it’s a prime spot for watching narrowbody departures from LGA.
Very glad to have a brewery of this caliber in the neighborhood. The beers are fantastic, especially if you are a fan of hazy IPAs, but they do other styles (sours, stouts, sessions, lagers) and they do fun partnerships with other breweries. The staff is also super knowledgeable and helpful and the taproom is really nice with board games, pinball, and good music. Can't recommend enough, sad that we will be leaving the neighborhood soon, will miss it!
This place is great! I love their beer! (Weird and gilly was one of my favorite) Met the owner at an event in Columbus, Ohio and drove out a couple months later to check it out. Rich you're awesome and so is your staff, John and Nate! Thank you for hanging out with us and for your amazing food recommendations.
Great beer. Great location. But just a tap room now. Tons of space to hold an event or just chill out with some friends. They have a decent bar menu as well. Their is even a record collection and a turntable where your favorite bartender can also slap some of your favorite wax down. -and YES, they have Huey Lewis and the news!
Solid spot, great beers, but they gotta figure out their kitchen ventilation. The entire place smells and you walk out smelling like fried food.
One of my favorite breweries in New York City, I first discovered it back in 2013 during my bike rides through Astoria. I was immediately captivated by the exceptional quality of its beers and the unique atmosphere of its taproom, tucked away, like many great craft breweries, in an industrial neighborhood that only added to its mystique. In short, excellent beer, outstanding staff, great music, and an all-around fascinating environment.
Friendliest and coolest dudes in the world work here. We threw a little thing for my friend Gary's baby shower and they held a few tables for us. Amazing beer and food. Thanks guys 👍
Love this place. It's big enough and spacious to easily have a one-on-one date. 💖😊🥳 The food is amazing, and they also have vegetarian and vegan options on their menu. 😋🥗🌱 I can't see anything bad on the menu. 🤔🧐👍 Highly recommended. ✨💯🌟
Was here for an event last night and forgot truly how great this brewery was. Pinball machines in the back and great food options in the front. The mozzarella sticks were the perfect and not too oily, fries also slamming. Beers are great from here. I’m a big sour beer drinker and loved both the hibiscus sour and the augmented sour with raspberry, cranberry, and lime. Great hang spot and noticed the board games on entry too!
The beer and staff were amazing yesterday. I’ll definitely be back — on one condition… As a mozzarella stick lover (and really, who isn’t?), I feel obligated to report a crime: you served mozz sticks without marinara. Instead, and I quote your cook, a “marinara aioli.” This isn’t just illegal under the Mozzarella Stick Code of Ethics — it’s an affront to decency, democracy, and dairy itself. Mozz sticks are one of the last things Americans can still be proud of. But this dipping sauce? It made me want to defect to Cuba. In the name of all that is holy (and fried), please — never serve that sauce again.
Really good beer and a great place to chill with friends and the kids. Food place is good but vegan but tastes really good and it has a bit of a kick. You can bring food from outside so do that if you want to eat something you like, there is a Chinese place across the street and a pizza spot. Will come back again when we come to NYC.
Fun brewery for board games, and watching the game. Came for a Sunday afternoon, place had a good crowd and seemed to have an event going on, bonsai tree pruning. Interesting I know…the beer was good, for sure would come back to check out the bingo or events they host. Also big plus for being in Astoria 👌 probably my favorite place in Queens. Staff were nice, walk up order a beer and sit anywhere. Chill. Food options limited, they recommend ordering delivery from nearby restaurants.
Dean (Mahogany Pale Ale) was medium bodied and nicely seasoned with hops. The pretzel and mustard was also tasty. After a few weeks I came back to try River Cryin Leonardo but it wasn't on tap. Instead I got a Shoegazer Triple IPA which was similar. It was good with a nice bitter finish. As good as the pretzel was before it was even better with pimento cheese. I'll get a 4 pack of the River Cryin Leonardo to go and try it there. Upon getting home I opened a can of River Cryin Leonardo Triple IPA. It was pleasantly astringent but I had trouble detecting the peppermint it was fermented with. Personally I would stick to Shoegazer or try another one of their offering. If there was a beer I would pick from this place Green Plastic Watering Can I the best I had so far. There is no bitterness and there were nice notes of cantaloupe and peach in this Double Dry Hopped India Pale Ale.
So many selections on tap to appeal to a variety of palates. I enjoyed a cream ale, and sampled my friend’s porter and double IPA. Great flavors in all 3. The tasting room itself has a really cool vibe all the while maintaining a neighborhood feel. Great way to enjoy an easy Saturday afternoon in NYC.
It was the summer of 2018, and their was a Syracuse football game up on the big screen. We ordered up a few delicious beers and made ourselves comfortable at some long tables in the rustic space. It's an under the radar spot and definitely worth the treck to deep Astoria. Cons: would not allow me to play guest dj (probably a good call on their part)
I've loved every visit to SingleCut. First time I visited, I came with a bunch of friends...we were all as full as possible, coming off a Sunday brunch @ Queens Comfort. We tried to walk off our meal by walking from QC to SC. It was a success for most of us. I loved the beer selection. As many breweries do, they have a lengthy IPA list...but they also had just as many, if not more, other beers. A sour that was interesting - it was a cask beer so it was relatively warm and not too carbonated...I likely would have enjoyed it more if it had been colder and bubblier - just my opinion - I understand a cask beer will be lacking those two things. It was funny - our group of 10 had run the American Brain Tumor Association's 5k that morning, and they had a beer on tap which all the proceeds from went towards Brain Cancer Research. We ran the 5k in honor of a friends wonderful Mom, who left us too soon. So this was really touching for our group. Really generous. Anyway, to keep me from getting emotional over here, their white lager was my favorite. It was floral and a little cloudy...just how I like my white lagers. I really loved it. They had a few sassy stouts. They were tasty. I also really like how they have varying sizes - you can get cute little half beers -- REALLY key for full bellies after comfort food intake. I also loved the resident board games and card games they had for people to use. We played some kind of trivia game based on Wikipedia. Awesome. Also, the space is beautiful. Wide open, lots of tables.
Giving it the benefit of the doubt. Very short visit on the way to the airport. But from what I saw it's great place to hang out. I didn't notice if snacks are available, which is always very much appreciated. I only tried one beer, due to time limitations. But that one beer was excellent. I would definitely go back for a longer stay next time I'm in the area.
Great brews. Haven't had a bad one yet. Whoever gave a 1 Star rating (with no explanation why) is a douche. This place is great. They don't do flights, but they do 5oz pours that are worth it. That way you can just try two or try them all. The prices are my only issue here and why I had to take it easy going there. I GOT BILLS TO PAY, damn it!
Really great beer! Bands play on weekends, and food is also very good when available. Could be a bit more friendly, but we’re New Yorkers! Highly recommended!
Friendly bar staff, clean bathrooms, and just a fun casual environment. Went for a couple beers with friends on a Friday night. I’ve been to a few bars with some yummy bar food but what I ordered here, I probably could have done without. The chipotle chicken quesadilla didn’t really taste like much. The cheese pretzel was a little better though! We enjoyed free trivia and got to sample a couple beers before we made our final selection. They also offer a couple board games, which is fun!! Be mindful, place has a hoppy smell since they do brew beers at this bar. Overall a fun place to have a couple beers causally!!
Wish there was more food choices than just pretzels. But workers were nice. If sitting outside just know you have to go inside to order your own drinks. Small place but lots of parking on street.
A really good brewery with a very good selection of beer types all brewed on site. Takeaway packages of beer are also available in cans. The food, a limited menu, is really good and a nice touch. One of the better breweries in new York city and definitely worth a visit. I really like that they have a rewards program.
Great local brewery. Huge space with board games and books and stuff. Extensive beer list on tap where they'll have lots of the standard stuff and some really interesting stuff that rotates. Really friendly people. The only thing that stinks is getting there - it's a fairly long walk from the subway. Worth the visit though!
Great low-key and fun location. Usually friendly service and pretty good beer. They've improved a lot since they first opened. They sometimes have live music and other events. There are some tasty snacks you can get here as well such as pretzels and bratwurst. They offer brewery tours on weekends and you can get growlers or crowlers to go here. Great prices all around.
Although, this spot is a decent walk from the nearest subway station, it’s still worth the trip for beer lovers. The operation is small and this is still a new establishment. I don’t particularly love their beers as they tend to go more hoppy than I like, but can appreciate the space, beer mission and people behind it. I think the setup of the whole place is wonderful and extremely welcoming for those looking to linger over fresh craft beers.
No alcoholic beverage choices for a gluten-free gal like me, but I still had a good time. There was great live acoustic music the night I was there. I ordered the bowl of chili and was quite pleased. I really like the owners and staff, so I hope they will do well!
Generally, i would have said 5 stars, but they sold me a Weiss beer and called it an IPA. These guys are better than that.
I'm enjoying a hefty "Heavy Boots of Lead" Imperial Stout, courtesy of the New York Blood Center's "Pint for a Pint" blood donor voucher program. Singlecut's brewery-bar is a nice spot, and I've got to say that ultimately, I'm rather glad that the "historic" White Horse Tavern out in the West Village denied their own honor in not honoring the same voucher that I redeemed here. Get out here to this precious gem of Killa Queens when you can!
This was a really cool spot in the old industrial part of Jackson Heights. Great selection of beers and surprisingly good food for the small menu. Watched some March Madness, had some chicken tacos and some delicious Imperial Stouts. Nice indoor beer garden style brewery with a solid selection on tap. Support your local Beersmiths. Awesome Eats, better beer.
The entire menu is too bitter, sour, tart and/or hoppy for my taste, just so you know what you are getting yourself into. I tried 4 beers here and they were between bad-but-tolerable (the 19 33) and so undrinkable i couldn't give it away (shadows from the flames). You will likely have a very different impression if you really enjoy heavily hopped or bitter beers That being said this is a cool space with friendly people, good seating, board games, etc. I feel bad being so mean to something someone has put so much into, so I'll close by saying if you enjoy hop wars era IPA's, sour lagers, and black coffee like stouts, you will likely really enjoy it here.
Good beer, so the bad rating is just about their pricing for picking up some cans to take home, which was nuts. They wanted to charge $8 a beer - the same price as if having a pint in their taproom -, which makes no sense, especially when every liquor store sells their beer for half that price. Really weird business model.
This place can be a good value if you play your cards right. Go with large growlers of the 1933 lagrrrr for $14 and you'll be thrilled. Skip around and go pints and your bar bill will soar... Music is excellent and the staff is warming up to clientele a bit better. You will enjoy this place in the warm weather. **UPDATE** The prices have gone WAY up to the point where it's no cheaper to drink beer at this brewery than it is in one of the local bars. The place has also been overrun with hipsters with the large collection of board games they now have in the corner. Such a shame. This place was sooooo good.
Decent beer but the bartenders were rude and made us feel not welcomed. We arrived in the area yesterday(on a day closed for business) and really looked forward to going today since its walking distance from our airbnb but left very disappointed. I work in the craft beer industry and I know that the attitude of the staff here would not fly at my place of employment. The employees are the face of the company and should represent them in a good way for all the customers. I will not be returning nor do I recommend it to anyone visiting NYC out of state.
The lady behind the bar was extremely rude. I gave her a $20 bill and gave me incorrect change. I asked what the price was and she pointed to the screen. I then asked if she would give me the loose change and she said no she doesn’t have so then told me to pay in card instead but in a very, very nasty way. So in other words, they are rude and don’t respect you and your money. Will not go back and that’s a shame since I love to support local businesses.
