This is an awesome place, Chris and Megan brighten up my nights after a long day at work, even the customers are cool, you gotta meet Kevin lol (“always think positive” he says) Over 20 different kind of beers, great atmosphere, just awesome. Not to mention the owner being a humble hard working man. I’m not the kind of person that leaves reviews But they sure deserve one. Keep up the great job and thanks for the welcoming to the neighborhood. Success to you! Cheers!! They’re a cool family, a must in Astoria. 10 stars.

Per usual, I Googled "where the locals drink near me" and found "The Local" was the kind of spot for me. Maegan, the barkeep, was personable...sweet and simply ON POINT. She keeps an excellent atmosphere for the locals and travelers, like me, in which to enjoy. The people I have met were great representatives of what real New Yorkers are at the core...good people. Enjoy this treasure, as I have.

Great selection of drafts in a friendly space. Chris is a great bartender, and the staff is knowledgeable about which beers they have! Only complaint was one time we went in to watch a Giants game and the female bartender was working, but rather than the game audio, we had to listen to her awful music, and stories about the guy she was hooking up with, because she couldn’t stand the game audio.

Love the Local. Very chill atmosphere, great tap selection. 3 dartboard's. Outside space. Karaoke on Friday nights. What more do you want? No food. Don't come here on an empty stomach. They do have popcorn available most nights, though.

Laid back bar with a good number of taps with a variety of craft beers. The seat and bar have a well used feel. Three large TVs showing whatever game is on. At least occasionally have Sunday fun day wings. The staff seem to be avoid darts players. During slow times the service is definitely hands off. Very much a local place with people knowing each other's names. It would be nice if they kept their beer menu listing more up to date.

Nice local bar with one of friendliest bartenders I've met in a while. Happy hour is daily from open until 7pm or 19:00. Best days to go are Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Need friends, real blunt but loving ones? Come here. This is a gritty but welcoming Pub that will show you what a drinking hole is, not pretentious. The people make this establishments what it is and the bar keeps are even better. Different crowds at different times, great balance.

friendly, good outlet for local musicians. theres a shot youll hear live music at any given time. they social distancing seems to be taken seriously. staff are pretty cool too. the clientele is pretty diverse- which for queens makes a lot of sense. The outdoor area is sort of large. as weather improves i will be there more & more because you really need to be inside the structure a whole lot

Great local bar, looks like someone's home almost. 3 darts boards with plenty of bar darts to play with. An outdoor patio open year round with seating for ~20. Good beer, and they will let you order in food (good wings and pizza nearby). About 5 TVs, they seem to have most sports channels (definitely MSG). All in all, pretty much everything you want in s neighborhood bar.

I like this spot, never too busy and it definitely feels like the local watering hole. The variety on draft is pretty good, but almost every time I've been there they've been out of something I wanted to order plus their online menu isn't frequently updated anymore, which is a bummer. The bartenders are also all very friendly, but often can't hear what you say because of the volume of the music. The nights they have live bands are even worse with not so great music playing obscenely loud. I like their prices and drink specials, which is why I keep going back, but not really a bar I would go out of my way to visit.
