We had a wonderful experience dining at Nan today. I absolutely recommend for lunch or dinner! The Tom Kha soup is a must as a starter. We also really enjoyed both the crispy dumplings and the steamed ones. Entree highlights for us were the Chilean Sea Bass served over crab fried rice with steamed bok choy. The Wagyu beef cheek entree with curry and rice was outstanding as well. Overall, we really enjoyed every dish that we ate - the flavors were rich and thoughtfully combined. The service was also really lovely. Valet parking is easy and directly adjacent to the Nan entrance.
Went to this fabulous Thai restaurant for a birthday. Beautiful decor and the menu is amazing. Their Thai curry sauce is one of the best I have ever had. Lamb Chops are my favorite here. Service was impeccable and atmosphere was great. Music 🎵 in the background brings another flavor to the atmosphere.
We ordered all the appetizers, and they were absolutely fantastic—each one was delicious and well-prepared. However, we found that the main dishes did not quite match the high standard set by the appetizers. On a positive note, the service was exceptional and truly above and beyond our expectations. Additionally, the cocktails were wonderful, with the Negroni being the best we've ever had.
While the four girls sitting across from me absolutely blessed my line of sight, the ambiance was nice too. Service was fast and good, with water refills really well executed. Very accommodating to dietary restrictions. The drunken noodles were delicious and surprisingly large portioned too! The dumplings were a good, standard 8/10 dim sum. The chef’s award soup has a bit sour and too creamy, but if you like Thai soup you’d like it! Do come if you’re in downtown buckhead 😀
Amazing experience! The food was so good & full of flavor! The staff was beyond kind and very knowledgeable. They validate parking at the Buckhead Plaza valet. Highly recommend!
The food is amazing, the atmosphere is really soothing, and the service was great! We got the crispy rolls, sea bass and lobster. We like our spice so we got Thai spicy and it did not disappoint! The noodles were crispy but soggy in the sauce and the sea bass was flaky to perfection. We also had the lava cake with coconut ice cream, just a great way to cap it off. Would definitely recommend!
The food was very good but the portions were small. Our server, Rosalinda, made the experience even better. She was very familiar with their menu and courteous. We will be back .
Giving it an overall 5star. Service is great and drinks are good as well. Food was a 4/5 although definitely a must try Thai food in the area. I wish the dishes could be spicier by itself vs adding a lot of Thai chilli powder that they provide on the side. The Tom Kha soup was good and flavorful and was good quantity. The pad kee mao too was great but I wish this could have been spicier standalone.
Definitely feel the fine dining experience once you enter the restaurant. The menu items are all very exciting! We got the Lamb Chops and the Duck curry, savored till the last bite. The drinks are nicely stiff for the price!
OMG!!!!!! This is by far my favorite new thai spot. It’s rustic, modern, sexy, & quaint. The ambiance is beautiful! Now let’s get to those tasty drinks! Linda did her thing!!!!! I ordered the my rai or die, & the Thai you up. Best cocktails I have had in a looooong time. Both bursting with flavor and Thai spices. My favorite was the rai or die but they do have a little spicy kick to them the Thai you up is more spicy. Next the apps I had were the basil roll which was very fresh and good but not quite my favorite. The mushroom ravioli was great. It was light but full of flavor. Also tried the thom yum soup it was a small portion but also delicious. The best part was the lamb with scallops & eggplant! I could literally eat that every day for the rest of my life!!!! I also had the beef cheeks which came out in a traditional Thai bowl over a lit candle. The meat literally melted in my mouth!!!! To finish off I had the Thai tea crème brûlée. I love love love this spot. Ask for Linda! To see the official videos follow my Instagram @rosadivina29 and check out my highlights section labeled “Foodie & Foodie 2.”
Absolutely gorgeous space with the option to dine near an open wall looking out into the courtyard. Excellent, friendly service from a detail-oriented waitstaff. Refreshing and thoughtful bar menu. Exquisitely-presented and meticulously-executed food offerings. Chai Yo did not disappoint! Menu highlights include the Lobster Tom Kha, Scallops Three Flavor, & Seabass Garlic. We look forward to returning soon!
This restuarant visit was an unplanned lunch date. We didn't know what to expect. The decor is modern and hip. Everything sets the mood, from the placement to cutlery to the host pulling out the chair. We were greeted in traditional thai style. What stood out to me, what the excellent customer service. Every time a dish was bought to the, the waitress would refill out water glass. It was a unique experience and the food was delicious. This has set my standard for lunch or date nights.
Dining at Chai Yo was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food and cocktails were creative, beautiful & absolutely delicious. The ambiance was equally impressive, all the decor is from Thailand and set the perfect mood. Service was exceptional as well. We will definitely be back. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!
Chai Yo is amazing!! The best thing we have eaten during the quarantine period. The social distancing made us feel so secure, and the staff was knowledgable and amazing. Please visit our food blog for more info at t_v_fooduniverse on Instagram. Update from visit 11/11/14 Another Foodie Friday is in the books. This most recent Friday we visited @chaiyomodernthai . A great place for a beautiful dining room, great service, and world class Thai food. Here is what we had to eat and drink: Drinks: Chai Talay- a tropical fusion of vodka, Lemongrass syrup, lime, and house made coconut cream ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This drink was absolutely amazing!! Like a Thai style Pina colada with lemon grass!! Food: Golden Pouches ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ These were amazing. Little pouches filled work tasty shrimp, chicken, and mushroom. The top closure had a nice crunch that added wonderful texture to the dish. Drunken Noodles ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Chicken, shrimp, onion, bell pepper, bean sprouts, noodles in a Thai basil sauce. So yummy!! Pork Belly ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Garlic chive blossom, onion, red bell pepper, Thai basil sauce. Dessert: Thai Tea Creme Brule ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Slightly sweet, light, and yummy. Like tasting a Thai tea cloud with added sweetness. Chai Yo has literally never failed us. This is world-class, A1, and amazing. It's what you get when the chef knows what they are doing, and every attention to detail is important. What an amazing experience as alway. #topfive #topatlantarestaurants #bestofbuckhead #bestofatlanta #worldclassthai #thaidining #finedining #luxuryeats #foodiefridayswitht_vfooduniverse #foodiefriendvibesonly #topfiveatlanta #amazingasiancuisine #bestofatl2022 #amazingeats #worldclass #thaifoodstagram #bestthai #foodielover #foodiefriends #foodexplorers #foodfinders #weexplore #weexploreatlanta #atlexplore #food #eeeeeats #foodlover😍
Amazing! High-end restaurant style Thai. The food has a co temporary take without missing any of the traditional Thai flavors you know and love. Custom craft cocktails are amazing too!
Very delicious food! One of the best drunken noodles I’ve had.
The place is incredible, the food is quite good, the only thing that for a work lunch if you don't have much time is complicated, because the dishes take time, even so I don't regret it because it was magnificent, each one. The dish I tried was unique, I would return. I have loved the place 1000 times!
Pretty sure I did this a few months ago, but this place is so good it deserves a second review. AMAZING, literally, try anything and everything, leave your food comfort zone. Great decor, imaculate restrooms, and great service. Shout out to Lynn. I always appreciate someone truly passionate and knowledgeable about their job. Bonus points for making me on two occasions awesome mocktails.
I absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I got several dishes and I was just amazed by the flavors. We got the pad Thai, lobster soup (least favorite), wagyu beef cheeks, kanob jeeb, and plah pla meuk (my favorite). It is a must try!!
Probably the best Thai food I've had in a while. I can't wait to return. Good food, good staff and lovely ambience.
By far my favorite Thai place in Buckhead. Their atmosphere is intoxicating. From the quick access to other Buckhead gems to the authentic pants the servers wear, the vibe here is great. Plus the drinks are well crafted and the food is delicious. Caution: Sometimes they do special events like Thai BBQ. I would not recommend those as they tend to be hit or miss and cost more.
Started with a shredded chicken dumpling, steamed. That spice from the Thai chilis was a great way to start. Followed with a soup with lobster chunks that was the highlight of the entire meal. My main course was a crispy fried chicken breast. The peanut sauce made it great. Thanks!
The ambiance to this place is soo good. A very good date spot. Loved their menu selection, limited with wide variety. The cocktails was pricey but good. Appetizers was sucha hit. Tried their mushroom ravioli and Kanom jeeb. Loved their massaman curry with steamed rice. Definitely will come back. They validate only valet parking and comes up to $2. They do not validate self-park. Will definitely recommend this place.
Food was fantastic! They have a lot of great starters for the table. I recommend the tacos or the dumplings! Restaurant is on the high end but the portions are generous. Very cool modern vibe and when you walk in, you are warmly greeted. Would definitely like to return to try some new dishes!
Everything was delicious! I wish they had more drinking options if you don’t take alcohol. They had enough food options on the menu and the waitress helped me choose a plate based on what I wanted.
Definitely would recommend. First time dining here and have added it to my top faves. Service A1, and the food is delicious.
Great food, cocktails and top notch service. My favorites were the spring rolls and the drunken noodles but we enjoyed all that we ordered; the lemon grass soup, shrimp dumplings and even the crab fried rice.
Fantastic new Thai restaurant. Not your usual hole in the wall, this place has a 'high end' feel while still being authentic. Super decor that the owner explained had been hand picked and shipped in from Thailand. Great drink menu and bar man (try the Thai Whiskey Sour) and last, but not certainly not least, the food. I ordered the pork belly, which was very good, but my friend's Beef Cheek Penang Curry was outstanding.
We had the lobster soup, lamb chops, wagyu cheeks, crab fried rice and mango chili sorbet. Everything was so good. Very highly recommend the lamb chops, crab fried rice and papaya salad.
Fantastic meal! Tasty, quick, and pretty outside dining. Waitress was 3-3 on her recommendations.
I'm tongue-thai'd...where do I even begin⁉️ The food was cooked masterfully and the flavors were a dance party in my mouth! Can't wait to return 😋
WE LOVE NAN THAI BUCKHEAD!! Every single thing we order here is perfection. Perfect service, great atmosphere, great cocktails. The Sea Bass with crab rice will be my final meal if I have any say in it. LOVE LOVE LOVE
Went to Nan Thai Fine Dining in Buckhead for dinner and had a pretty good experience overall. The food was solid — the lamb shank curry was rich and tender, definitely the standout. The green curry chicken was decent but could’ve used a bit more spice or flavor depth. The dumpling lettuce wraps were fresh and fun to eat, nice as a starter. Drinks looked amazing (the purple one with lychee was super pretty), but taste-wise they were just okay — not bad, but not something I’d order again. Service was honestly excellent — super attentive without being overbearing. The staff really added to the experience. Overall: good food, great service, drinks were fine. I’d go back, especially for the main dishes and the vibe.
Had dinner with my sisters. When you come in you are greeted by a hostess. The ambience is very nice and love the decor. I purchased Tom Kha lobster soup which was amazing and for the main dish I had the wagyu beef cheeks which was okay. It was too sweet for me. I also purchased with lychee mocktail was good. Overall, I would def eat here again and try other dishes.
Overall pretty good. I couldn't quite put my finger on what was missing but the ambiance was perfect for a date night. Our server was extremely polite and helpful with making menu suggestions. The guys loved their old fashion cocktails.
Wonderful experience at Chai Yo! Beautiful design and excellent service. The menu has great variety and the meals are delicious! I was so grateful for coat check and also free valet. I will definitely be back & suggest to all my friends. Especially celebrating a birthday with a free special dessert! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️5 stars!
Had to pleasure of visiting Chai Yo for brunch this past Sunday. I've heard good reviews and they have recently changed their menu, especially the brunch menu with some new items. So it was a great choice for a Sunday brunch. Decor of the exterior and interior is simple and reminiscent of that of a modern bar/restaurant. Everything was clean and sanitized, with Covid procedures in places to social distance tables apart. They also offer patio seating for when the day outside is looking good. Menu for brunch is simple. My fiancé and I went with the recommendations of the server, which was the Friend Chicken and Pandan Waffles, as well as the Thai Eggs Benedict. Both were great dishes, waffle and chicken were very crisp and flavor. The benedict was a little too heavy on the curry, this was just my personal opinion. Still both dishes I would recommend others to try. Service was great, always there to help and ask if we needed anything else promptly. Location is in a relatively upscale part of Atlanta, so there's plenty to do around the area if you're waiting or after the meal. They do validate your parking, if you park in the garage right beside the restaurant. Up to two hours of parking, after that it's on you. Overall it was a great experience at Chai Yo. Will be visiting again to try some items off the lunch and dinner menus soon. Thanks!
We had 8pm reservations for our 10 year anniversary. When we arrived the restaurant was less than half full, we were seated immediately. We ordered appetizers and main course. The food complimented itself well. I want partaking in beverages above water but my husband stated the wine (forgot the name) was good. I myself had a sparkling water. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. My husband asked for a to-go container with carryout bag. The waitress take up his plate and brings it back...... it comes back with a doggy bag! Yes, a doggy bag! The 1 star off was for the to go container was literally a doggy bag! This is suppose to be an upscale restaurant with a strictly enforced dressed code. A doggy bag is below standards and looks tacky!
Dined here for a friend's birthday dinner with a group of 11. Located right across from Seasons 52 so use that side of the valet. If you valet, the restaurant can validate it. The interior of the restaurant is beautiful and definitely has that upscale feel without the pretentiousness. For appetizers we got the shrimp rolls, dumplings and lettuce wraps. All were so delicious and we ended up ordering more. For beverage, I had the Thai tea which was good. The drinks are the reason for once star off because they took a while to come out and usually it was after we were done eating. For my meal, I got the Pineapple Chicken and it was so good! I would come here again for it. I did sample my friend's scallops and brussel sprouts, crispy pork belly and the salmon. Those dishes were equally delicious as well. I will definitely be back to try more things!
Outstanding in starters and desserts. Starters are unique (since they have Saku, you barely find this menu in Thai restaurant in US). Desserts are fusion. Create a new menu by blending Thai and American materials. However, I am not impressed in main course as much as I am impressed in starters and desserts. First Picture: Starter - Saku Sai Kai Tapioca pearls filled with minced shrimp, chicken, pickled relish, cilantro root, peanuts, topped with crispy garlic Second Picture: Main Course - Moo Grob Kra Pow Crispy Pork Belly, basil, garlic, chive blossoms, Thai chilies over jasmine rice. For this menu, pork belly is not crispy. Third Picture: Dessert - Thai Tea with Sugar Crusted The top layer is sugar crusted. The bottom layer is Thai Tea blended with whip cream. So, it becomes Thai Tea in whip cream texture.
Great area. Nice lighting. Ordered the lamb chops. Substituted the sticky rice for chicken fried rice. Also order the Toong Tong (not pictured) and Phuket all & Chai Talay (drinks not pictured) Everything tasted great! No complaints. If the weather is nice, I do recommend sitting outside (that’s what I did)
Our server was really nice. As for the food, I especially liked their octopus salad and steamed dumplings. They were unique and tasty!
The crab fried rice is the necessary compliment to all dishes! Do not go without this! The service is amiable and the decor is magnificent and refreshing.
Always nice dining here. Flavorful entree selection and a fun drink menu.
This is a fantastic space with great service and food. While more relaxed than some of the other neighboring dining options, you are certainly not settling by choosing Nan Thai.
The food was delicious, ambiance is warm and elegant service was the best part. I was sticker shocked by the prices. I paid $147 for just me! 2 cocktails, 1 app and an entree that was on a special. Paid and additional $20 for self parking (not included in the above price). Can't says that I will return. I do feel as though I can get the same quality food elsewhere. If you want validated parking be sure to Valet. The surf n turf entree is $80 and rather small for the price. Ribeye, asparagus and 2 prawns all very tasty. The lobster soup was delicious, Lychee martini's were well crafted and executed. Service was friendly, professional and all around top notch.
Menu is smaller than Nan in Midtown. Staff could have been much nicer. My husband was rudely told to take his hat off and my server had a sly semi-rude reaction to my one year old son being a little antsy, it was in a jest manner but the comment just didn’t sit well with me. Food was decent but the one in Midtown is our favorite and that is where we will continue to go.
How sad and sad it is that because of the receptionist or hostess the restaurant has a BAD STAR!!! The food is excellent, the place is magical, it is a fantastic place! but the host girl is the WORST! Bad aptitude, she was rude, unprofessional and very hateful! I think they should prepare it with a customer service course! or simply replace it with someone else...!!! I feel offended, upset because it is tarnishing the reputation of the good place.
I'm still in shock over what I witnessed this weekend. I, and a group of friends, were seated for dinner on Saturday night near the bar area. There was a group of women seated the bar, normal Saturday night wine night, it seemed. That didn't last for long. All of a sudden, this short lady, whose name I believe was Linda as per the other workers' conversations, started screaming and dressing down one of the servers and a host in front of everyone. The woman was clearly drunk, I myself saw her drinking at the bar, slurring words, and berating her colleagues. From what I heard, the waitress made an order incorrectly, and I guess the hostess was helping her fix it somehow. They probably didn't want to bother their drunk boss. I don't know how or what exactly happened, but I DO know I have never seen anything that unprofessional in my entire life. She was screaming that they were trying to steal, they were stupid, etc etc. Even if every slurred word she said was true, why are you drinking on the job and why on earth would you speak like that to employees in public? I seriously don't even know where to begin. Everyone in the area could hear and see what was happening. I just don't know what to say. Well, other than I applaud those other 2 women's ability to deal with a drunk and abusive "boss." I can only hope they find a better job asap. No one deserves to be spoken to like that, ever. And, again, from a person who was clearly drunk and unable to control her emotions. Shocking.
TLDR: Small portions, very slow service, expensive, salty food, staff mixed up who ordered what leading to folks not getting their drinks and food. Went there on Saturday night with a big group, about 20 people and were seated promptly. I noticed that our group appeared to be the only folks in the restaurant which I thought strange for a Saturday evening. The server was nice and friendly. Unfortunately, that's where the positive things end. The first issue, it took the staff over an hour to bring out the drinks from the time we ordered them. It's not like they waited until all the drinks were done either, they brought them out one by one, some came out fast and some people were on their 2nd-3rd drink before others even had their first brought to them. In addition to taking a long time, when they brought my my drink it wasn't what I ordered. On the topic of them bringing out our orders, every time staff came to the table they never went right to who ordered it, they'd shout a name or the drink type etc and expect you to claim it. Instead of being able to talk to friends and have servers bring you what your ordered in timely fashion it's like you're on edge waiting to hear what item the staff is bringing out so you can finally get your drink only to double check it as being the wrong one. This restaurant has no idea how to operate properly and no care towards providing guests with a smooth, pleasurable dining experience. Next issue, the food portions were small, didn't taste good, weren't presented well, but high in cost. You'd think for expensive food with small portions, they'd learn to use more than a heavy dose of salt as seasoning. You don't get anything for your money here. I genuinely think you'd get better Thai food at almost any other entry level restaurant around the metro and in terms of fine dining, there isn't anything "fine" about this experience. Never coming back, would not recommend.
