This is by far the best Chinese restaurant I've eaten at so far in auburn. I specifically drive out if my way to eat here. The staff and owner are very sweet and kind. The food is always cooked well and is consistently good. You can order a large family meal and it be ready in 20 mins. We usually get the following items: Spicy chicken fried rice It's never greasy and is full of veggies. Sweet and Sour Pork It's not overly sweet and is perfectly fried. Sesame fried tofu My vegetarian sister gets this every time. It is a little sweet but that's expected so we pair it with steamed white rice. Beef and broccoli They are generous with both the beef and broccoli. The broccoli is flash steamed so it's both soft and crisp. Fried Dumplings They're large age you can tell they're made fresh. I also want to mention that they have paintings all over the wall you can buy from local artists and they're really cute and well done.

I had an excellent lunch here with enough food to feed 3 of us, so they boxed it up and took it home with me. Very nice people.

We were seated promptly by a very pleasant woman. She accommodated a request for something special on our food and it was done properly. The menu was extensive and had something for everyone. The prices were very reasonable. One additional thing was the tons and tons of local art on the wall for you to enjoy viewing while eating your meal. I would definitely recommend going there for a meal.

Some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. I had the beef with lister sauce and loved every bite. It's incredibly cheap for the huge quantity and speed of the food. Please come here. I recommend it deeply.

Tried this place for the first time and got takeout food for family of 5 with a lot of food for leftovers too.The portions were big and the prices were fair.I was impressed by the good quality of the food! It was fresh, balanced and the flavors were great.Everything was good and not soggy and over done like some other places.I will definitely be returning to eat here again. I recommend this establishment.

Got some general's chicken and rice with a egg roll and crab puff pastry to go! It was all super tasty and very good. The rice was perfectly seasoned and so fluffy and fresh. I hid it in the fridge so nobody else would find it. I did give certain family members a bite when I reheated it for a midnight snack. That was a special treat and I look forward to trying more things from the menu. The sweet and sour sauce is good but they did forget to put the Chinese mustard in the order. Family is going to have to get their own. Lol

Really delicious food, and our server was really friendly. I almost gave 4 stars because they were swamped and understaffed and once we had our food we were kind of ignored. But it's not their fault there was like 2 people running the place and only a couple other people dining in. LOTS of to go orders being picked up and taken out though.

We visited this place over the weekend for lunch before attending a wedding nearby. Service was friendly, food was excellent - we had the paper wrapped chicken and broccoli beef lunch special with chow mein. Everything was tasty and fresh.

I love this place! I'm over here once a week to do laundry and always go and grab lunch or dinner. The chef gets so excited when I order dishes and ask for spicy! He's even danced about it before 💜😂💜🤣

Hidden gem! Vegetables prepared fresh! Cooked when you order. Flavor so good you'll want to stuff MORe in! Cashew and Orange chicken are my staple foods... Reasonable prices! Phone ahead and arrive to a table full of food and Linda's art on the walls is great fun to look at. Lots of color and they are FOR SALE TOO! Fun family atmosphere with awesome hot food (ask them to make it real spicy if you dare!!!)

I love shrimp curry and travel a lot, going to trail races. Canada and Alaska are yet to be evaluated, but so far, this restaurant has the best shrimp curry in the continental USA and Hawaii. We usually order take-out to bring home and eat with large quantities of brown rice that I cook up, typically around the living room wood stove or the chimera burner in the patio. Haven't found anything they serve that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Never an MSG headache. Prices are reasonable. Service is prompt.

My husband and I drive up here from Roseville to get our Chinese fix. We have tried so many other places and nothing ever compares. Great flavor, affordable price and awesome lunch specials with huge helpings! My favorite is General Tao's Chicken and cheese fried wontons. You can tell everything is freshly cooked and not just sitting in tubs waiting to be scooped on a plate. Highly recommend!

Stopped here on our way home from Reno for lunch, lunch menu was a good deal but we opted for 3 entrees. We got beef chow mein, beef w/snow peas, broccoli w/garlic sauce and everything was delicious. We also had a sweet and sour soup to start and it all came out fast and fresh. We had plenty to take home for leftovers and they reheated just as well.

Must try!! The service is like no other. The server we had was so kind to my children, she helped clean up my young baby and was just a sweet soul. The food was great. We will never forgot her kindness. 1000/10 best place around.

Long time customer , this is a gem. I don’t usually leave reviews but I just had to… love the food, and occasionally a woman from the family will play the po ling (traditional Chinese guitar)… the best sound I’ve ever heard from a solo musician.

Had the place all to ourselves on New Year’s Day. We were a group of 21. Service was amazing. The food came out fast and everything was delicious. 12 of our group was kids and the staff were very accommodating and patient with the kids. They brought out chocolates and cookies for the kids at the end. We had a great time. I loved the chow mein, very flavorful. Beef with broccoli and general chicken were my favorites.

Delicious food, generous proportions , liked the egg rolls. It was a good experience UNTIL the fortune cookie. The fortunes were nothing more than advertisement for a self driving car :/ ruined the entire experience.

Clean and quiet. Friendly server. Good food in very generous portions, like a meal and a half for my husband or closer to two for me. I really like that the veggies are done right, not cooked to death. I like both the egg flower and the hot and sour soups, and I can be picky with soups.

Really enjoyed their food and atmosphere. Was there with our two children. Had the lunch specials (sesame chicken, general tso's chicken, broccoli beef and broccoli chicken) and everything was fresh and hot. The art on the walls was nice. The lady (owner?) who served us didn't seem to know a lot of English, but that's okay. We got what we ordered, so that's good!

K

I was somewhat impressed with the food. The food was well cooked, good flavor but not too much salt. I could actually remove my ring after which is not the case with most Chinese food places due to the high sodium content. I'll be back to try another dish for sure.

Friendly prompt service. Fresh vegetables not over cooked and tasty. Very grisly beef. Had to remove several pieces from my mouth Adjusted room temperature for workers' comfort but blowing cold air on my neck and ears in March. Fair price. First person's plate came out way before other person in dinner party. So first meal was not hot by the time the second meal arrived. Atmosphere very casual. Generous portions.

This is a nice, larger family owned Chinese restaurant which has large portions of mildly spicy foods. One of the chefs is from the mainland China (Guangzhou, Guangdong region), where my wife grew up, and she commented that the Chicken Chow Fun was one of the best that she has ever had (in her 40 years in America). Difficult to make, and just like home made. That is saying a lot from her, as she is a Very particular eater. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and would say the meat, while fresh and good cuts, was not developed in flavor with the spices much. Having personally eaten a Lot of Sichuan, Hunan and Jiangxi region foods myself while visiting mainland China, I am used to a far more challenging taste profile. So I would not recommend that one. The owner's daughter is an artist who decorates this business with her paintings (which I believe are for sale too!). Very bright, colorful and original art. Check it out. Authentic (American \ Chinese) food, larger portions and fresh ingredients without MSG or preservatives are the strong points here. I think they are open 7 days a week, and long hours. Give it a try some time.

The food at this establishment is fantastic! We always order online for pickup, and their ordering app is easy and convenient to use. We have no complaints about the food itself—it’s always delicious. However, our past two pickup orders could have been packed and secured better. By the time we transported the food home (about a 15-minute drive), sauces from several dishes had spilled out of the containers and onto our car. We had another pickup order last night, and although we placed the containers in a box for transport, the sauces had still spilled by the time we got home. I would recommend securing the containers with additional plastic bags and possibly offering boxes specifically for transport.

Something has changed, not the owner but maybe the cook. Food is overcooked now, especially the vegetable dishes I tried recently. It was my go to for potstickers and chow fun however my Hot and Crispy pawns were not what I expected. There was no crispiness to them at all and the vegetables were overcooked and soggy. My alternative is Chang Bros who always has fresh and correctly cooked food. It might take me a while to come back here.

Food was seriously average. Nothing stood out. Honestly, the best part of the meal was the cold Coke on a hot day—and that says everything.

One person at the counter & waiting on customers in the room but she was super nice. Food not great, actually I cook better Chinese at home using a cookbook. We have yet to find a good Chinese restaurant in Auburn. Maybe we just have high expectations coming from the Bay Area that has the best Chinese restaurants!

we visited this restaurant for dinner , consumed house special fried rice, soup , house special noodle and other items. Unfortunately none of them taste good and food seems to be old as well, specially shrimp. Service and the hospitality was not pleasant experience. Unless they change these , i would not recommend this restaurant for dine in experience.

Tried Szechuan Resturant for the first time today and was disappointed. Ordered the Broccoli Chicken lunch combo which comes with fried rice and chicken chow mein in addition to an egg roll and crispy fried wonton. Requested steamed rice instead of fried and all white meat for the chow mein. After picking up my takeout order and driving all the way back home, I realized they gave me fried rice. Plus, I don't think all white chicken meat was used in the chow mein yet I was charged extra for it. The egg roll was soggy inside, there was a lot of oil in both the fried rice and chow mein, and the main dish was bland. Doing my best to support local business but don't think I'll be returning.

The Szechuan Restaurant has been in the same spot for over 30 years. They haven't changed the decor of the restaurant since they first opened. Before Google maps and reviews, this restaurant used to be the place to go for Chinese and Szechuan style cuisine. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. When a restaurant no longer cares about the product and service they provide, it is very apparent when you visit the restaurant. Apparently, vegetable chow mein now included chicken. The general chicken was flavorful, but the chicken was fatty. With a remodel and a new cook, this place could be a Chinese food destination that it once was. IG SACRAMENTOHONEY

Uses some third-party for its menu, which is apparent unless you notice they URL switch. Added almost $5.00 in “fees”, “convince charge”and “surcharges” for the PRIVILEGE of using the app for order food I then have to go in and get to take home. The fees aren’t readily apparent until you checkout and easily overlooked. The food mediocre is not worth the price listed on the menu let alone worth an EXTRA $5.00 on top. Also, note the $10.50 order of fried wontons are NOT cheese-filled wontons. They’re a small serving of wonton strips I would have expected to have been given without charge liked chips at a Mexican restaurant. Read the menu carefully if you do go there. Pleasant enough people, but I won’t be back. Live and learn.

Got dinner for 3 of us. Nothing had any flavor. Lemon chicken and sweet and sour shrimp both taste like bread. Everything was bland, almost gross. Never going to waste my money again. Wouldn't recommend for dog food at this point.

The first time I ordered take out the sesame tofu was the best! But the second time it was horrible and soggy like they had a new chef or something. Gave another try and it was the worst egg fu young I’ve ever eaten. It was thick and dense and didn’t even taste like egg. Egg rolls were like mush on the inside. $24 down the toilet! Ugh never again!

The food was absolutely awful, and the chicken was grey in the chicken fried rice. The garlic chicken was way too spicy. The fried noodles for the chow mein were not edible. The happy family has disgusting seafood. It was so gross. Will never go back.

Took a day to calm down…Last two take-out experiences have been memorable. Now, we have been customers for nigh on two decades because of great food and tremendous service…never again. Ordered take-out as usual, told as always 10-15 minutes. Well, only one table occupied, as usual, ah but order not ready! Lots of yelling inthe kitchen - this was happening our previous visit, cashiers indifferent. Should have left but… took an additional 40 minutes for food…should have scrammed after 15. More commotion in the kitchen. Food came out, paid & went home. Wow, cold, undercooked, overcooked…could go on. Live on the other side of town so a return wasn't in the cards because they weren't answering the phone. Hopefully they all murdered each other to settle their differences and there may be something better in its place for the sake of us all!

This place is even worse when Susan is working! The worst Chinese food I have ever had. My 4yr old could cook better. My 4yr old loves fried rice but wouldn't eat fried rice from here.

Ordered 3 dishes for just myself so I’d have leftovers over the holiday. Dined in the restaurant which was beautifully appointed & decorated for Christmas. The service was friendly & attentive & the food was great. By the time I received the check I started feeling sick to my stomach. Went directly home & was terribly sick the rest of the night & into the next day which was New Year’s Day. Had to throw out 3 large leftover containers of food, cashew chicken, kung pao chicken & veggie fried rice. $67.00 including a 20% tip. What a way to start the new year. 🤒🙁
