Update 12.28.2023 I visited this place for the first time in four years, and it appears to be under new ownership. Notably, the prices have increased, and the thali is noticeably smaller compared to my previous experiences. Upon tasting the food, it became apparent that the recipes have also undergone changes. Unfortunately, this is no longer my favorite spot. Despite my initial disappointment, as the meal progressed, I found myself appreciating the overall taste; it was still quite good. Surprisingly, the puris were even better than before. While it may not rank as high on my list as it once did, I believe it's still worth including in my dining rotation. I would rate it 3.5, rounded up. Prior review: My favorite weekend Thali! Get the puri. I've had plenty of Indian vegetarian food in Austin during the past few years and I'll still vouch for these guys every time unless quality and taste drops. Sure, the presentation is not as nice as some other places...food is still served in weird plastic-y plates. Do I wish they used real plates? Off course! But at the end of the day, it's the food that I care most about and it just can't be beat.

In the mood for authentic South Indian Street food? This is the place. They have a wide variety of items on the menu to choose from. Tired the samosa chaat, maysori dosa , pani puri and vada pav. The food was a tad spicy .. but that's just me. The staff was super helpful and friendly, assisted in choosing out items from the menu as well.

There are only few places in austin where you see Dabeli and kachori and some of the rare items on the menu. This place is one of them. We got Dabeli, khasta kachori and pav bhaji. All 3 were delicious. I got take out and it was ready within 15 minutes of order over the phone - so quick service. Khasta kachori had yogurt and chutney packed separately so it wasn’t soggy even after half an hour of travel. It was full with sprouts so unique. Dabeli also came with sweet and sour chutney. And pav bhaji was good as well. Food was a bit spicy for us but it was good to have that kick instead of having some bland tasting food. Wanted to try their sandwiches as well but during that time - sandwich machine was not working and it was broken or something so probably will try next time when we visit again.

While the ambiance is pretty shabby, the food was amazing! It is very traditional and flavorful. Highly recommend the chole samosa and even the masala chai was exactly how it should be. Finally, the prices are really great for the quality and quantity of food! Totally will be coming back...!

Alas, I never thought I would review this restaurant so low. This was once my favorite. Once the original owner sold it, it lost everything it had. Food is made by Mexican folks I believe and you'll certainly realize the food quality sooner or several hours later. Too much oil or the dish is sweet as a bonus. Visited based on the 4⭐rating, which honestly made me rethink trusting reviews. Ordered samosa chaat and bhel puri - both were extremely disappointing. The flavors were unbalanced, overly minty and tangy, with too many sauces. The bhel puri was soggy. The restaurant was empty and barely lit when we arrived. Ended up leaving without finishing the food.
