Opinions de Café at the Loren Austin
Fresh pastries made from scratch and delivered daily by a wonderful chef and staff. Ideal place for working remotely there’s seating indoors and outdoors under beautiful trees; there are charging outlets indoors but not outside. Connected to The Loren Hotel lobby it’s modern and cozy aesthetic; staff was always very friendly and welcoming. They also have a golden hour happy hour, mimosa’s and other specialties are discounted at a certain amount all are great. They also try to practice sustainability with their fresh squeezed juice bottles return you will receive a free coffee or tea.
Stopped into the cafe after visiting a local park to take skyline photos. The two ladies at the counter were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. I had to step away for a moment while my order was being prepared. They graciously agreed to watch my coffee and began coffee cake until I returned. The coffee was hot and smooth. The coffee cake was scrumptious and hit the spot as an afternoon snack. If you are in the neighborhood stop by and grab a cup and a snack!
The atmosphere was amazing with great vibe. I reported a bathroom issue and Julie and Simone provide help so the customer service is great here too! Try the Pain Au Chocolate
Pair the espresso tonic with the pistachio croissant. I thought it was Perfection!

One of my favorite cafes in the city. It's a great spot to work from since it's on the quiet side, the view towards the river is great and there's usually a few cute dogs that pass by and some that pop in too.
We grab our coffee almost daily here and Hector and Enric are the best! Kindness, smiles and good coffee 😊
This is my personal favorite coffee shop in the larger Austin metro area. An ideal escape from the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. The large glass frontage provides a wonderful spot to soak in the natural light and spectate life (and cute dogs) passing by. Friendly baristas, good WiFi, tasty drinks, and a regularly-rotating assembly of baked goods keep me coming back regularly! Plus, their monthly trivia night is a wonderful reason to get out of the house.
Went here a couple weeks ago while I was on a trip and needed some quick coffee to go. Service was excellent, the sweetest barista named Anna helped me out and her kindness was very much appreciated. The coffee was absolutely delicious, I got a vanilla latte, simple yet so good! I will be going back when I’m back in town!
Had the Cortado and it was pretty good! I would’ve liked the beans to be slightly less dark. But the baristas did a great job in pulling the shot and steaming the milk, which are pretty much all you need for a Cortado! PS - the place was open on Thanksgiving Day! Thank you to the staff for that :)

Great spot to people watch and enjoy a coffee, wine, or beer on tap. Barista is excellent. One of the best cups of Latter I've ever enjoyed. Nice even foam, proper ratio, and milk at the appropriate temperature. #chefskiss
Cute coffee stop right off the Lamar Pedestrian Bridge at Ladybird Lake downtown. A clear favorite of runners and dog walkers during an outing to the lake, there was a line but nothing outrageous. Very limited in terms of drink sizing, adjustments, etc - although perhaps that was because it was busy. Staff on duty had a “we make it this way” perspective. That said, the cappuccino, matcha, cold brew and kombucha were all lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed drinking on the patio and watching folks walk by.

Atmosphere is great. They have sandwiches and salad for food. I ordered turkey melt but they served the sandwich as how it was displayed. I asked to heat it up as I was expecting warm sandwich with melted cheese. What I got was outside was a little toasted but inside meat and cheese were still very cold and nothing was melted. Not sure that's how it should be.... Drink was fine.

Really good cold brew and friendly staff. I do think it’s a bit overpriced but what isn’t in Austin. Outside patio is great for a coffee break in the shadow. Love that it’s close to the trail!
I have come here a couple of times before and always liked it a lot! Their drinks and pastries are both delicious. However, I came in today, the morning of 5/8, and BOTH of the two women working behind the counter were extremely rude. The woman who took my order could barely be bothered to take it. I waited for about 5-10 minutes while she had a conversation with the other woman, didn’t interrupt, just waited patiently, and she still seemed pissed off that she had to take the time to take my order. When I came to pick up my drink and asked, “London fog for Madeline?” (I didn’t want to take someone else’s by accident) the other woman literally glared at me and said, “that’s a London fog” Like, okay, we’re good. Literally just trying to get my drink without mixing anything up… To be clear, it wasn’t super busy—it was a normal amount of busy, for 8:30 AM on a Thursday. I’m not someone who needs a ton of service, but it was just really unpleasant to deal with these two women. Food is delicious…hopefully it was just an off day or something.
The coffee cake was very good. I heard the pastries are from Sour Duck. The servers were stressed as there were probably more customers on this Saturday morning than expected for this brand new coffee shop. The coffee was just ok. The location and atmosphere are great, with outdoor tables under big trees right across from the pedestrian bridge.
Great location across from lamar pedestrian bridge. The latte and cappuccino were just ok. The service was slow at 8am Saturday morning. Now the bad news. The ham and cheese croissant was mediocre at best and served cold. Ugh. Why not just out source breakfast tacos from Taco Deli.

Pastries and coffee are really very good. BUT service is distracted and spotty,. I’ve never been to a coffee shop where they told me they wouldn’t fill my large coffee up because they were afraid of running out of drip coffee. It seems bizarre to charge someone $7 for a large 16 once coffee and fill it halfway up the cup. Then when I questioned it, they gave me attitude and seemed annoyed. Completely strange.
Beautiful location so if you’re going for the environment or a conversation it’s great. For the coffee enthusiasts, they use a Marzocco but I got an espresso that tasted like it was pulled from either bad beans or a nespresso machine. No latter art if anyone cares(I don’t). Was tolerable, but would’ve skipped the coffee if I had known.

Did not expect much from counter service but the staff seemed to be in bad mood. Coffee and croissant were fine. Some tables were unclean, with crumbs on the floor. I hoped this did not reflect the hotel’s standards.

Giving it two stars because the location is great. I stop there on my walks a lot but am finally stopping once and for all. The girl working the register never greets anyone or says thank you for a tip. The baristas never smile or acknowledge anyone and the drinks are nothing special. Third eye cafe is right up the street and is so much more warm, welcoming and kick ass drinks.
Service is okay. Value of pastries and cafe drinks for price, not equal in my opinion. Sure, hotel in a prime location with a long line all through the weekend, no complaints about that, that's understood. Just hard to pay $8 before tip for a specialty drink that was boring, when the standard in this city is so high. The croissant tasted devoid of butter sadly, and I know they end of selling out, so wish it hadn't tasted day old. First time trying, so maybe was an off day for them.

I was sitting with my husband a few days ago and we carry sustainable cups to get coffee in. The ultra rude female manger comes in and asks the staff in the person sitting there has ordered anything. Lady, this a hotel cafe and people come and go. Ultra rude manager who does know the concept of cafes or hospitality.
