Opinions de Cherrywood Coffee House Austin
I went here to find a place to study but also eat at the same time. I tried their catfish po boy, and it was so good. The catfish was crispy on the outside, and tasty too. Fries came with it too! Definitely recommend this one. I also tried their macadamia nut iced latte. It didn’t have a strong taste, but more creamy and sweet. They have free wifi and free parking too.
My favorite coffee house and sandwich spot in the area. They always tend to have some type of evening and weekend entertainment in their pup friendly outdoor patio. Food has always been well prepared and delicious. Love all of their sandwiches! Recently tried a few super strong IPAs they have on tap and I am super happy to realize they have pitchers! Wooohooo! :) Update 2/2022: I now live on the south side of town and still make a trip at least once a month for my favorite Cuban in town. Yes, you read that right. They also have a bomb cheese steak sandwich. Heck, all of their sandwiches are fire if you ask me. Haven't had one I didn't like. They do breakfast all day and have some pretty good breakfast tacos. Their specialty Luna taco is huge and requires a fork. I tend to enjoy their basic iced coffee, but they do all kinds of coffee. They have added a lot of tasty and strong IPAs. My favorite is Tahitian Dreaming.
Loved this place! The music was obnoxiously loud though like other ppl were saying. You can’t really enjoy your meal. And I dno how ppl were studying with club like music lol. But the food and drinks? YUM!! I had the Reuben, it’s house made corned beef and uber flavorful. My husband got the Texas omelette. Really good. For drinks we got the green tea pomegranate and Cuban con leche and the Cuban con leche is a MUST try!! Will be back (with ear plugs lol)
amazing food, wonderfully kind staff, and really lovely music playing. not too loud, but some nice chatty background noise! the cashier was very friendly, my burger (avocado bacon burger, no cheese) was delicious, and i loved my experience overall.
Excellent spot! Food, Coffee, Draft/bottled beer, wine, desserts. I had been here once years ago, I believe and Revisiting It was great! Chill. Outdoor and Indoor seating.
I love Cherrywood and go there regularly for lunch dates. The food and coffee is delicious. Some of my favorite dishes are the ranch chicken salad and the avacado bacon cheese burger. There are lots of seating options inside and out. The only issue I've run into is that they are usually short staffed. Typically 1-2 people at the register/bar and a big line can build up quickly. Despite the small staff, they are always friendly and welcoming.
This is my favorite coffee shop for studying alone as well as trip planning with friends. Inside there are tables of varying sizes, allowing for groups of up to 10-12 people. Finding outlets to charge your laptop can be tricky, so definitely bring your laptop charged. We've always been able tk move to a table near an outlet before our laptops die. As far as parking goes, they have a lot, but you can also park on the street for free if ir gets full. The food is always great, but maybe a tad overpriced. I love their burgers, fish tacos, huevos rancheros, breakfast sandwich, and the Thai wrap. You can sub the side of fries or chips and salsa for a cucumber salad, which is nice if you're looking for a healthier option. When Austin gets our 4 months of good weather, the outside patio is really pleasant, but I don't think there are many outlets outside. Sometimes there is live music or comedy shows outside, which can be cool if you're able to nab a table.
Super chill place to get your coffee on. Excellent beverages and other goodies served by friendly folks. Try the chocolate cake!!
Want an Austin experience eat at Cherrywood Coffeehouse. It is pure what Austin is, here; the location, atmosphere, employees, and the food. You couldn’t get more local than this. Local residents, college students, independent filmmaker, and artists is what you’ll see drinking and eating at this coffee shop. When traveling to know the city eat locally to know the people and where you’re visiting.
While visiting Austin, I happened to come across this place by chance—and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere was friendly, the staff professional, and the food absolutely incredible. I ordered the short stack, and it was cooked to perfection. Great vibe, great service, and an overall fantastic experience!
Tried this place for the first time. The breakfast quesadilla with salsa and pico is really good and flavorful. I tried the banana bread, it was a large piece and the taste was solid. It was moist and tasted fresh. The chia I tried is sourced locally. It’s a concentrate that isn’t overly spicy or sweet. I got it hot with a shot of espresso with cinnamon and really enjoyed it.
The place is a gem!! Absolutely love the atmosphere. Had an EXCELLENT cheese burger! Locally-sourced beef, perfectly ripe tomatoes, sweet onions, with butterleaf lettuce on a tasty whole wheat bun. 🍔 They also proudly serve Ruta Maya coffee! ☕🤤 I hope to back soon to try their farm-fresh breakfast! 🍳🥓 YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO CHECK IT OUT!!
We had an avocado bacon burger (no house sauce), two eggs with hashbrowns (crispy!) and bacon. We had an iced black tea with lemon zest and a hot chia tea. We had banana nut bread as an appetizer - very moist. The burger was good but needed the house sauce (mistake on our part). The eggs and hashbrowns were great! The sourdough toast was crispy. They got my crispy hashbrowns the perfect level of crisp! I put ketchup on the hashbrowns before I took the picture. Both drinks were great. The black tea lemon zest was very faint on the lemon zest which was perfect! We were glad we found this place by accident!
Love this place! Got a vanilla lavender latte with a good morning muffin. Delicious. Hubby got the chai with chorizo tacos…much bigger than expected and so tasty! Staff was A+, cool atmosphere, my only qualm was the parking is tight and right as you drive in you come up on a big sign post so pick a side and go around it and hope the person coming out picks the opposite side! But regardless best lattes we have both had in a long time and that muffin was 🔥
Been coming here for years, but I had never taken the time to review it. It's a great atmosphere for studying or brunch. I highly recommend the Terra Taco. This place is great for those looking for vegetarian or vegan food. You can pass on the huevos rancheros unless you're looking to get a sizeable portion of fried corn tortillas. Great service and the latte was perfect.
I really love this Cherrywood neighborhood staple. The food is great, the coffee tasty, and they have baked goods to die for. Check out their tacos or burgers, or just grab a smoothie. You’ll usually see folks parked here for a while working away, or people catching up or a business meeting. It’s a great place to catch a small, local band as well, if the weather allows outdoor relaxing.
Love the place. Great shrimp Porboys. I highly recommend to check it out. Great menu and beer choices.

I love the ambiance. Though it was a bit hard to find seating considering it was a weekday at 3:30PM, I took a seat at the bar and took in my surroundings. Overall, it's a great spot to come work on school work, there is a dog friendly patio, and a great selection of beer on draft. I felt a lack of friendliness from the staff, but it wasn't bad enough for.me.to.come back.
Never again. The service and vibe weren't bad, but the prices! Jeez, who can afford this place.

This is no.longer the Cherrywood of years bygone. The people no longer seem to care, the food is decidedly mediocre and the prices seem high. \n\nI miss the old Cherrywood.
Cute neighborhood spot! I appreciate the cozy, inclusive atmosphere and the wide selection of beverages to choose from. I opted for a beer this time - they had quite a few craft beers on tap. I've …

We specifically asked that our eggs be cooked medium to well. They came out running all over the plate and raw. The bacon was great and crispy. The toast was fine. The hash browns tasted like old grease. The pancake looks good and my husband said he's had them before and they are good. It's a really big menu so I would look for something without eggs. Unless you order themscrambled and well done. Amended review::: as we were finishing our breakfast, a manager walked by and asked us how everything was, I told her about the eggs and she could see that they on my plate and extremely runny. She amended our bill and offered to remake the eggs. I commend her for that! I'll be back for lunch sometime.
Decent food at decent prices. But service is a hot mess. Five people standing around while one person manages the lines and makes the coffee. Took 40 minutes for eggs Benedict. Then the lady was arguing about giving us a fork to eat it. That was weird, I suppose she misheard something and was confused. Also Latinx stickers are insulting to 90% of Hispanics.
I don't get to Cherry House very often but I was here a couple weeks ago to get tacos and they were super satisfying. I ordered again today went in to pick up and was met with a moody server as I was trying to pick up my tacos in the "pickup" area. Literally she wouldn't even look at me... Walked by, zero eye contact. I did not exist to her. When she walked by me for a third time, I told her I was there to pick up tacos and gave her my name. She acted confused, rolled her eyes and told me someone else would be with me in a minute. Generally, not the kind of vibe you're looking for in the hospitality industry. Thankfully, the person who eventually did get my order to me was kind and helpful. I'm leaving this review because restaurants know that how your customers are met does matter.
They have a delicious BLT and some of their other dishes are really good. The only reason I gave it three stars is because it’s a grungy place and sitting outside is OK but it’s usually filled with bird poop on the chairs and benches and inside it’s OK, but not always so clean.
Tried this cafe for the first time and we really enjoyed the ambience & the staff was very friendly as well. Earl Grey tea was good too just a bit too much water for a single tea bag, didnt get any coffee drinks so can't comment on those. We were craving a cinnamon roll and decided to order one but it was hard as rock even though they heated it up so that was very disappointing. We only had a few bites and threw it away. Our fork could barely even poke through it.
It's an alright breakfast, hash browns were the best part. Good luck leaving without dropping at least $17 without a drink. Tables are creaky, but the ambiance is nice. Taking 2 stars off because t…

The building seriously needs work. Another review mentioned rats and while I didn't see that, I didn't feel like this building was nice and was questionably up to health code. The food was also very overpriced - two tacos and a latte plus tip was $20 - food and coffee were fine - mostly bland, though. Don't reccomend. Read other bad reviews for another glimpse at this place and avoid. Better coffee shops out there.
