Went into today for brunch at 11:00 am. Had never done brunch before and ask our sever Christian what he would recommend! For starters he recommended the salty sister oysters, he then recommended the mussels and clams for the entree, which was a 10/10 perfectly executed by the chefs the warm broth at the bottom was perfect for today’s cooler weather. Will definitely be back
I have been to Clarks so many times. I love the ambiance, attentiveness, and it usually feels very much like the staff is interested in mingling with and creating a comfort that is present in only the most exclusive of environments. Tonight, unlike all past experiences there was a lack of smiles indicating genuine discomfort with their roles. The lack of smiles to create an environment of fun and happiness that is so valuable and palpable. If you find the person who is holding people back from being joyous and free, please let them go.
One of the few expensive restaurants in Austin that the food service and atmosphere actually match the price tag. They hit all the marks. Service here is perfect. The servers make you feel at home, casual (but classy), and effortlessly taken care of. The food is great. Everything I've had is good. Can't lose here. Clark's is excellent.
Came here with my husband for lunch and it did not disappoint. Was quite busy and sat at the high top which was fine. Mikey was our waiter and he was attentive but not over bearing. Oysters were some of the freshest we've had in Austin. We love small east coast oysters and they had plenty to choose from. Food quality is well worth the wait. Making a reservation next time to enjoy a meal at a table!
We made a reservation for Clark's a few weeks ago and were very excited yesterday when the day finally came for our weeknight date night. We had reservations for 6:45 and got there closer to 6:35. We had to wait a bit as the previous table was still at ours and I think we got seated around 6:55. They apologized when they sat us but still, don't think I've had to wait that long with a reservation before anywhere else and usually, at most places, if you're early you'll still get seated early if not on time. Oh well, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt on that. Otherwise, the experience was great. We started with a 'leaving on Monday' as I couldn't help myself after hearing it was Anthony Bourdain's favorite and she got the Amber waves. Both were really good but next time, I might ask for light ice on mine. To start, we got the 2 each of the Sex on the bay, Savage Blonde, and Blish point Oysters and then also an oyster shooter and a dressed oyster. I think the savage blonde was the fave but all were really good and man, she loved the dressed oyster. The oyster shot was decent but from just a mix of vodka and oysters isn't something I'll probably do again. We then had the bluefin tuna carpaccio and it was so interesting. Lots of flavor and the capers were delicious. We had read the gruyere burger was a must so we split that with the shoestring fries. The burger was a top 5 of the ones I've had in Austin; not huge though so if you want a large portion, probably get something else with it. I'm not sure how to feel about the fries tbh. They were hyped too but they were so thin. They were good but I think I'd prefer if they were double the size as you couldn't even dip them in ketchup without them falling apart. To finish, we split of scoop of cream cheese ice cream and it was fantastic. Price D was our server and was friendly and seemed pretty on top of things and overall he did a good job. We left happy and will probably go again but maybe for happy hour next time just to soften the blow on the wallet. Our bill with tip was $180 which was expected but not something I would do all the time. We saw people trying to walk in when we arrived and they were booked so generally, I'd recommend reservations...even if you're going up on a Tuesday 😉
Shout out to Daisy and the team at Clarks. Had a super frustrating experience earlier in the night and they totally turned the whole night around for me and my mom, who's visiting from out of town. They sat us quickly with no fuss and they were super attentive the whole night during dinner. Happy to give my money to one of the Austin's finest and best since 2012. You have to get the clam chowder, linguine and clams, and get the chocolate mousse too. Drinks were on point and chefs kiss again for the service. Although they were busy on a Monday night the staff treated everyone kindly and with respect. Thank you Clark's. Will be back!
I love the vibe at Clark’s Oyster Bar. We sat on the patio, which is shaded and perfect for people-watching and just relaxing. Service is friendly and attentive. We’ve tried every oyster on their menu, and each one was excellent with great brine, texture, and variety. The crab cake was another standout, crispy on the outside, rich and flavorful inside, and perfectly paired with the salad and pickled shallots.
Place is nice and despite it being very hot, the outside has a great breeze and it’s cooling with sprinklers. The service was excellent, our waiter was super attentive and friendly. We did have the crab salad and it was delicious! However, I would not recommend it due to there being pieces of crab shell in our salad. Clark’s took our caviar virginity and we would have it no other way. The toppings were great and the flavor was fresh and delicious. *dog friendly*
One of my favorite Austin restaurants! I’m obsessed with the crudo plate and I’m elated they added ceviche to the menu. The tuna carpaccio and shrimp toast are heavenly and their drinks are pretty light and refreshing, too. We tried the basque cake last time we were here and it was amazing!!
I’ve been going to Clark’s 4-5x a year (sometimes more) for the last ~5 years. Service is always wonderful and food is consistent. Happy hour is great if you can get a rez! Best oysters in town. Great martinis & the burger is fantastic!! They recently made part of their parking lot into a cute patio (I hope they eventually turn the rest of the lot into more outdoor seating).
Clark's was great! With the weather and the atmosphere, it felt like being on the coast and having some amazing seafood. Make sure you start yourself with the ceviche and grab an oyster from each spot you won't be disappointed. You can't go wrong with any of the food truly a great spot to relax and enjoy a light beer and some amazing seafood.
Been here several times - nearly every time I am in Austin - and it hits every. single. time. Lobster Roll is of course a staple but really it’s the wine + cocktail choices, exceptional service, and all around good vibes they’re serving up. Oysters are fresh. Fish is delish. Drinks are where it’s at. You can’t miss going to Clark’s. Pictured: A tart key lime pie that was complemented GORGEOUSLY with some charred marshmallow + Lobster roll with shoestring French fries & a delicious Rosé 👩🏼🍳💋
We came as soon as they opened on a Saturday because there were no reservations available and were seated right away on the patio. The service was top notch without being overbearing. Best food we’ve had in years. The taste of each dish was incredibly unique and light with complexity that breaks up the monotony of bbq and other traditional staples. Can’t wait to come back again and again when we visit Austin.

Had dinner here tonight. A group of us ... everything was excellent. Definitely recommend the tuna carpaccio, the crabcake and just like the reviews say, the burger is awesome.
Great service. Very knowledgeable about the oyster flavor profiles and they were fantastic. I love it for a mid day snack and sitting on the sunny patio while it's not too hot here!

Dinner at Clark’s last night and it absolutely delivered. The lobster roll was excellent and the oysters were delicious — we had a mix from New Brunswick and Massachusetts that were fresh and briny in the best way. The real surprise of the night was the ceviche, which might honestly be the best I’ve ever had. Around the table, the burger got rave reviews, the crispy salmon with polenta was really good, and the linguini with clams was a big hit as well. Drinks were great too — a crisp local pilsner from Meanwhile Brewing and a fantastic mocktail. Add in wonderful service and the whole experience felt relaxed, polished, and genuinely enjoyable. A great night out all around.
I come to this restaurant a few times a year, and every visit used to come with the same anticipation; the linguine with clams. The old version was one of those dishes you think about long after you’ve left. White wine, cream, lemon, kale and pesto. It was creamy but still bright, full of flavor, with this perfect balance where the lemon lifted everything and the sauce coated the pasta in the best way. Rich without feeling heavy. The kind of plate you slowly finish because you don’t want it to end. It was honestly one of the most memorable pasta dishes I’ve had, and I’d spend months looking forward to coming back for it. This time I came back craving that exact dish, only to find it had changed. Now it’s linguine with clams, white wine, chili, summer herbs and pesto. I completely understand menus evolve, but it felt like something really special got lost along the way. The creamy, lemony depth that made the original so good is gone, and the new version feels much heavier almost like it leans on butter instead of the balance the old one had. It’s still a good pasta. But the dish I used to come back for all year the one that was creamy, bright, and full of flavor is the one I wish was still on the menu.
Had a decent time here for dinner. It’s an interesting mix between casual and fine dining with both their menu and their atmosphere. Our waitress was excellent and we really enjoyed the oysters shrimp and linguine with clams. I wasn’t a fan of the hot sauce in the clam chowder or the amount of chives in the lobster roll. Overall, this was a nice dining experience, but next time I would want to sit inside and would be more selective with the items I ordered.
Clark's is a good seafood spot with solid lobster rolls (not a fan of the fries) and a nice menu. Nice outdoor seating. That being said, I prefer Fish Shop over Clark's.

Clarks oyster bar... yum. Cute place. expensive, but was justifiably so. Fries were not really fries, more like crispy onions. The burger was the best thing we had, not pictured. Loved the oysters …
Went to Austin for the weekend and had lunch at this place, although we don’t have reservations but they have plenty table outside under the shade. We ordered fresh oyster from different location…
We visited this spot on a Friday afternoon, and it was absolutely packed, which shows how popular it is. The vibe definitely leans casually fancy, with a stylish atmosphere that makes it feel like a special outing. I tried a few of their vegetable dishes, including the cabbage steak, cauliflower, baked potatoes, and kale. While everything was nicely plated and cooked well, I’d say this isn’t the best choice if you’re vegetarian or vegan. Many of the veggie dishes carried a strong meaty flavor, almost as if they were cooked in the same style as the meat options, which wasn’t quite what I was looking for. The food itself was fine, just not particularly memorable for the price point—it felt a little on the expensive side for what I ordered. Overall, I’d say it’s more of a place to accompany friends than a go-to spot for plant-based eaters.
What's with everything we ordered being spicy ???? Small portions for price. Small Wine list by glass. Bread wasn't warm. Not as good as I remember.

Food was just ok. Servings rather small for what you get. We had oyster sampler, clam linguini, crab cake and all felt like we would have rather gone somewhere else.
Went to the place to celebrate parent’s anniversary. They place a happy anniversary card on the table, but won’t even say it. Only, when our server Vanessa brought the check, she mentioned it, but at that point, our experience couldn’t be enhanced anyhow. Also, don’t expect any complementary gesture. The service was pretty choppy. We placed order for drinks, and then waited forever for the server to come back to take food order. Dinner takes a while to arrive, which is understandable. Meanwhile they offer comp bread for the table: a huge chunk of half sliced sourdough with tiny-tiny drop of a butter. I mean, it’s just not enough for that big of a piece of bread. When we were done with the butter and had half the bread left on the table, we requested another butter from a naked-torso other server, she swept the whole thing and said she’d bring a new one. Why waste perfectly fine bread? It’s a tendency here, they just take your plates, when you didn’t even finish. I had to ask them several times to just leave the plates! Burger was fine, the French fries it comes with looks cute at first, but because it’s basically shredded potato it contains tons of oil in it and pretty awkward to eat. My octopus was a small plate oily and rubbery. I grew up on the seafood and know how it should taste. I still ate it and didn’t mention anything, since didn’t want to wait again. Mom’s whole branzino fish was pretty good except for too oily. The oil was just all over the plate, even though it was supposed to be grilled? Dad’s Choppino was also nice, but pretty spicy, which is not mentioned on the menu. I regretted trying it, since after my mouth was on fire. Shrimp was overcooked. Dessert - basque cake didn’t meet my expectations either. Served cold, not worth the price. Also, there was a sudden change in weather, cold strong wind started blowing, throwing the acorn cups at us, it hit me on the arm and it was not pleasant. I was worried about my 8month old in the stroller, as we only had him covered half way. So we had to keep holding hands on top of the stroller to protect him. Maybe, put some protection for your customers? Very dark both in patio and inside, when I eat I like to clearly see what’s on the plate. All in all, I would not come back. And feel bad that I chose this place for my parent’s anniversary

We had such high hopes for this dining experience. Called to make reservations and was told they were not needed. We arrived early and there was open patio seating. The hostess on entrance let us know they were reserved. When we had been told reservations were not accepted. We were able to get a table with a time limitation. After our dining experience and obtaining the hostess name (Bella) we questioned the manager. She blew us off taking no responsibility. The 1 star for service is for the hostess and management. That being said our waitress was very accommodating. Bella the hostess and the managers lack of concern for customer service will prevent us from ever returning.
