Fun dining experience here. We sat outside, but the different dining areas inside each had a unique and cozy charm to them. The tacos were great as well as the margs, but they are strong so be careful.

Tacos were pretty good Udate 2/11/22: I have been three more times and the food has been great and the servers are awesome and friendly. Its near my office so it will definitely be a regular lunch location. Update 1/30/25: This place continues to be outstanding and the service is great. Hands down one of the BEST spots in Austin for authentic Mexican food. Every single bite tastes fresh and made with love. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and you can tell they genuinely enjoy working there — happy employees make the experience even better. The vibes? I was very hesitant about this place thinking it was a tourist trap 😩 but boy was I wrong! The drinks are great and strong! We had to wait an hour and 30 minutes to be seated on a Thursday night. The food was all delicious the tortillas are delicious. I highly recommend the barbacoa tacos you can’t go wrong. The chips and salsa appetizer is fun especially the spicy one so so spicy but delicious! Must check this place out but be prepared to wait. Can’t wait to come again!

The bean and cheese empanada type taco was amazing. Every single salsa with the chips was killer. My daughter is extremely gluten free so finding a restaurant where we all can eat without worry is awesome. Top that with excellent food and service and you have a 5 star experience. Amazing experience at De Nada Cantina! I got the prickly pear margarita on the rocks, and my friend got the spicy pineapple frozen, they were simply amazing! We also tried the Carnitas Mexico City style quesadilla, we had the fish taco, shrimp taco, and the Barbacoa taco. Everything was very well made and was out in seconds. I’m not lying When I say it comes out it seconds. The kitchen is so fast! Good prices, and amazing atmosphere!

Just went to De Nada for the first time and was served by the absolute best, Lily! She was the most amazing and sweetest server ever. She answered all my questions and mentioned what was good to order. I will definitely return not only for the great food but for her great service! First off, we love our server, Edgar! He is as so hospitable, kind, AND walked my through my allergy’s! This restaurant is 100% gluten friendly, which is a major win for feeling safe when looking for a good place with with good food! When you come, request to sit in Edgar’s section, you will not be disappointed and order a marg - any flavor you can’t go wrong! Just don’t order too many or you will be dancing on their tables!

She was handling a huge party effortlessly while still making every one of us feel seen and taken care of. Drinks were flawless, service was fast, and her ability to socialize and keep the vibe alive was unmatched. On top of that, she suggested the flan for dessert… and WOW. Hands down one of the best flans I’ve ever had, perfectly smooth, rich, and not overly sweet. Trust Jordyn when she recommends something, she knows exactly what she’s doing. De Nada is lucky to have her, and we’ll definitely be back asking for Jordyn every time.

This place is visually interesting lots of outdoor covered seating. Packed on a Wednesday evening 530. The food was all really good and we enjoyed a mixture of 3 salsa, queso, guacamole and chips and the salsa be careful they increase in spicy! But loved them all! 2 margaritas frozen a mango and a strawberry was perfect on this 103 degrees May day! We also tried the burria deep fried cheesy quesadilla with some sort of sauce and they melted in your mouth! Visually you are like wait what is that? But definitely a true real Mexico quesadilla. If we hadn't drove definitely would of tried more Margaritas but I drank half of a small and gave rest to the one not driving! Place was hopping, food and drink was amazing prices are very reasonable!

Went here yesterday looking to grab a bite to eat with some friends who were in town, and genuinely was some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Austin. Was looking for great food and great vibes and this place delivered. Staff was also lovely too of course (big shout out to our server Sofia too, you made the experience all the better). Will definitely be coming back here again with some more of my friends!

De Nada Cantina is straight up the spot. The whole place has a fun buzz to it and the margaritas are famously strong. Found out real quick that the rumors were true because my girl took one sip and was acting like she got hit with a tranquilizer dart. One drink in and she was already reconsidering her life choices. We didn’t have a reservation so the wait ran close to an hour, but it wasn’t bad. Everyone’s hanging out, music going, and there’s a margarita bar in the parking lot. Just know that rolling in hungry and drinking while you wait can turn you into a cautionary tale real fast. When we finally sat down, the chips and queso showed up faster than two squirrels fighting over a Cheeto. I ordered three tacos and let the server freestyle the last pick. Ended up with a quesadilla that slapped way harder than expected. If you’re visiting Austin, put this place on your list. The vibe is fun, the drinks hit a little too hard, and the food is worth the wait.

The minute we landed in Austin I began searching for the best taco I could find. Being a review person, I found some spots that had so-so feedback and nothing really caught my attention. Well thats when I came across De Nada. "You are Welcome" was this an arrogant preemptive display of we know you'll be thanking us when its over or was this a simple warm greeting? Turns out it was both. As we pulled up the parking was a bit tricky but seeing the active parking lot and copious amount of people in and around the building, we knew we had stumbled upon exactly what we were looking for. We didn't have a reservation (definitely make one if you plan to stop in) and got lucky enough to slide in on the last available table inside. Our server was pleasant and present which made my party of 4 feel welcomed right away. We had chips and sauces for an appetizer and a variety of tacos to boot. Paired with some delicious but expensive drinks and this was everything we had hoped it would be. I would suggest making a reservation and limiting the drinks if you are on a budget but make this one a must try.

De Nada Cantina has a very "Austin vibe." It's very casual with lots of outdoor seating. It was a hot day in August so we chose to sit inside with what we hoped to be a cooler location. Not really.…

The food here is definitely worth the long wait in queue to get in, the line was super crowded even at 9 pm. The ambience is great, a nice spot to get a meal and hang out with friends. There is limited outdoor seating by the side of the restaurant, plus some more outdoor seating by the front, an indoor area with fans and a closed (a/c) indoor area with a bar and some more tight seating. The place was absolutely packed, but we managed to get margaritas and chips and queso at the bar while we waited for our table. Service was friendly but chaotic, probably because our server had so many tables to handle. After we were seated and had ordered, it took about 15 minutes for the food to come out, but there was an issue with our 10 taco order. The space is very noisy so it took several minutes to explain to two servers what was missing, once they understood, they brought out the correct order another 10 minutes later. The vegetarian tacos are excellent, probably some of the best veg tacos I’ve ever had. However, the blue corn taco shells fell apart before we could eat, so I had to use a fork for the filling (which I got from a service station myself, because the servers were all very occupied). Definitely worth a visit, maybe a better experience at less popular times. It’s not as economical as other taco places, but this is a restaurant and not a cafe so that was understandable.

A fun spot if you want a good margarita! Their prickly pear is my favorite, and their chips and queso are great! It does get very busy & you do have a 2 hour limit on your table so plan accordingly! Happy hour has some good options too!

Simple & delicious Latin food - the flavor and vibes of the restaurant hit you as soon as you enjoy the first bite. My only feedback are the 2 bathrooms - like why - you have at least 200 people here on a “slower day” and only have two single uni-sex bathrooms. What are we doing guys??? Let’s get the plumbing sorted so we can get back to the vibes, food, and drinks!

The host service could have been better for our first time there. She was on the phone and didn’t acknowledge us. No one was answering her, so a quick “please give me a moment” would have been appreciated. They sat us by the bar which I wouldn’t recommend since an employee spilled a whole iced drink on me and did not apologize until I got up. Also, while we were trying to enjoy the meal, they were reprimanding an employee right behind me, which to each their own but please take it to the kitchen. Maybe y’all were just having a bad Tuesday, but regardless, I hope y’all take this as feedback because despite all the place itself is great. Our server was amazing, he was an angel. The food was also great, highly recommend their quesadillas. Their drinks are STRONG, so expect them to taste like a strong drink, but get it nonetheless.

i didn’t have the pleasure of trying their food as it seems like they are very popular and booked, though if you go in for their frozen margs… you’re in for a treat. trust me when i say the frozen marg will hit you halfway into it, perfect as a pregame haha. super busy and crowded, not my cup of tea since it screams a bit of overly hyped non-authentic mex food.

I’ve heard such good things about this place so I decided to check it out. Made a reservation, upon arrival immediately was told we had a time limit on our table. That honestly rubbed me the wrong way and made the experience feel rushed. The service was okay, nothing stood out. The chips and dip were good. The margarita tasted smokey which was new for me. The taco was really good! The beans tasted smokey as well which was odd. Overall, I’m 50/50 on this place. I would not seek it out on my own.

I never leave reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to mention. I came in with a group of coworkers after work, and while we understand it was late and busy, the service was poor. Our server barely checked on the table even as people in our group arrived, and two people had to wait around 20–30 minutes before we could flag her down just to order. There were also drink mix-ups, including a margarita served in the wrong size and another drink that was completely incorrect, and it felt like we were being argued with when we tried to clarify. At one point we were asked if we were ready to check out even though two people still hadn’t received their food. We were a table of 8 so 20% gratuity was automatically included, and some of us still tipped extra. What was most surprising was later hearing that the server said we had been rude. That was honestly confusing since we were patient the entire time. I also noticed several other recent reviews mentioning poor service, and the most recent owner response saying “we fell short tonight.” Unfortunately, we visited three nights ago and experienced the same issues.

I’m honestly not sure I understand the hype. We put our name on the list and were initially told the wait would be about an hour. After waiting an hour, we followed up and were told there were still two groups ahead of us. Two groups were seated shortly after, but we were again told there were two parties in front of us. By that point, it had been an hour and 45 minutes. Thankfully, we grabbed a few small bites at Central Machine Works during the first hour of waiting, because both the extended wait and the birria tacos ended up being subpar at best. The highlight of the evening was our waitress - she was sweet and attentive

Food is 4-5 star quality. Drinks are solid. Service needs work. Epic greenhouse vibe, vibrant colors, authentic Mexican energy from someone who knows what authentic looks like. That sick bar area? Pure eye candy. Here's the problem: every single person working here acted like hospitality was a foreign concept. Hostess, server, food runners - zero energy, zero care. Had to flag down our waiter multiple times just to get water. Asking for more drinks felt like I was personally ruining their day. The space is gorgeous. The food delivers. The drinks work. But when your staff treats customers like a burden, you've got a fundamental problem. This place could be incredible if management actually trained people to give a damn about service. Will probably just Uber Eats next time. Get the good food without the attitude. Fix your service and this becomes a 5-star spot. Until then, you're wasting an amazing space and great kitchen.

I had high expectations for De Nada because of the reviews I read before going, but unfortunately it fell short. The food was very plain and didn’t reflect authentic Mexican flavors as advertised or described in the reviews. The restroom situation was frustrating, with an extremely long line. The service was okay but not very attentive; it felt awkward to ask for refills or additional food. Not a terrible experience, but not one I would repeat. Extremely Expensive for the food, atmosphere and service.

Extremely disappointed and left before ordering. We were told there was a 30+ minute wait for warm, covered patio seating, then walked past several open tables in that area and were seated at a cold metal table instead. Minutes later, the host returned to tell us we’d need to leave by 9:00 p.m. (it was 6:57). Poor hosting and confusing communication cost this restaurant our business. Thank you Da Nada for nada though, we found a gem in Lil’ Easy!
