Shake shack has become one of my favorite burger joints. So far every time I've stopped by to grab a burger and fries or satisfy my sweet tooth with a shake, the food has always been really good. The service is decent but they could be a little more welcoming and smile.

Cool spot in the Lamar Union complex, where the Alamo Draft is located on south Lamar. If you take a left at the Alamo and head in the garage, then walk out toward the street, Lick will be right there. Lots of options for flavors, some are seasonal and they have a bunch of vegan (dairy free) options. The portions are really good, I got a small and I was HUGE! Waffle cones, waffle bowls and even chocolate cones. Not overly processed stuff, you can really taste how real it is. Definitely enjoyed!

Such fun! Unique flavors made this ice cream evening very interesting! I got the goat cheese flavor, not realizing I'm not a huge fan of thyme--oops My son really liked the chocolate with olive oil. Who would have known? The coffee one was intense and the red velvet one was a little odd-- the chunks inside made it a strange texture. We also tasted the gingerbread and whoa! So much flavor! A little goes a long way--we will definitely visit again.

Best ice cream flavour selection ever! Wow! I knew I wanted the lemon lavender immediately as soon as I walked in because the whole place smells of lavender! Long line but worth the wait. Also if there’s a long line you know you’re gonna get something good. Loved that we could try flavours too because they each sound fabulous! Very unique and looks like they rotate them out too. The blueberry one even had alcohol in it! Ended up with the thyme, goat cheese and honey and the lemon lavender. Wish there was more of a lavender taste to it but will be back soon for the vegan ice creams! Such a cute little place too. Limited seating so most people were sitting outside on the benches They also have pre packaged pints of ice cream and lots of options for like sundaes or making your own pint. Highly, highly recommended 🍨

This is some of the best ice cream that I've ever had in Austin. The ingredients are mostly locally sourced; the cream is nearly perfect in thickness, fresh, & very clean. The flavors all pop out on very well on the tongue. The contrast in the various flavors taste Absolutely Delish! they have nice employees. I had Lemon lavender with goat cheese, honey, & thyme. Enjoy!

Amazing Icecream! The combinations sound very odd or weird at first but the ice-cream tastes amazing and on point with the flavors. I tried the dark chocolate, olive oil and seasalt along with goat cheese, thyme and honey. I must tell you I loved both. The server was very helpful.

My favorite ice cream in Texas! Cones are made fresh on sight and all the ice cream flavors they have are as unique as they are good. This isn't a ice cream place that adds a whole bunch of candy toppings or sugary syrups just good seasonal flavors. My favorite is the tequila lime pie that has graham crack chunks in it!

I was a bit skeptical when I was looking at the flavors online, but the unique creations I had were all really good! I did have a bit of a hard time distinguishing between the coffee with cream and caramel salt lick, as they both had very similar tastes, which was a bit disappointing (though they were both still very good). The dark chocolate also had some salt in it, but I really like that combination. I think the most interesting flavor was the goat cheese and thyme. It was a pretty bold goat cheese taste, but that's one of my favorite cheeses so I loved it. All of the flavors I tried were very smooth and creamy. With all the unique flavors, I would definitely prefer to come here over most other regular ice cream shops.

Shack burger was really tasty,onions also incredible but the portion could be bigger,bacon burger was ok but not recommended.

This is such a cool place! Its close to downtown and has stunning views! The food was pretty good but it looked pretty different from how it was advertised. The service wasnt really active, bevause you order on a screen. It took aboit 10 minutes to get 3 burgers, 2 fries, and 3 drinks. I really recommend going here

I love the unique flavors, but I come to Lick for the chocolate bowls and cones. It’s frustrating to visit multiple locations and find they’re often unavailable. I hope they can keep these in stock more consistently.

I got 2 flavors: goat cheese w thyme & honey and mint chocolate chip. Goat cheese was actually pretty good. Very unique. The mint taste is pretty strong too. I will say the portion size is a little underwhelming for its price. Compare to Dolce Neve, I’ll get Dolce Neve over this. Still very good though.

Smooth ice cream in some very good flavors. We got the lotta latte and the texas sheet cake. The street cake is a delicious dark chocolate marble ice cream variety. I got this in the cove which is a vanilla waffle which is delicious all on its own. The latte was a macchiato made into ice cream. The only downside is how little you get for how much you pay.

Lick was a recommendation from a couple of people I met. I tried the fresh mint & chocolate chunk, hill country honey & vanilla bean, and chocolate chocolate. The vanilla bean was my favorite of the three. The chocolate chunks with the mint ice cream are on the bitter side. Depending on your preferences, this will be great or not. It does have that refreshing taste. I wasn't a fan of the chocolate chocolate. I haven't figured out why. Give them a try for sure. The customer service people were great. Plus, it's a nice place to eat indoors or outside.

The coolest thing about Lick is that they come up with the craziest flavor combinations. On my visit, they had Goat Cheese with Thyme and Honey, Lemonade Pound Cake, Honeyed Peaches with Rosemary, Loquat Margarita, and Roasted Beets with Fresh Mint. The vegan options are usually pretty limited, unfortunately, but when I was there they had: Peach Berry Swirl, Coconut Caramel Cream, Chocolate Chocolate and then Coconut with Avocado Curd is made with egg so it’s just dairy free. I got a couple of scoops in a chocolate waffle cone. They said that the waffles that they make in store are dairy-free but made with butter and eggs, so they aren’t vegan. The flavors that I tried weren’t very distinctive and I was disappointed there weren’t any flavors with different textures, like crunchy graham cracker bits in the peach berry swirl, everything was one texture. The chocolate waffle cone was different so I was intrigued so I tried it and it fell apart everywhere, plus the taste of chocolate was pretty weak. I do appreciate that they don’t use artificial colors or flavors, preservatives or high fructose corn syrup along with using only locally sourced ingredients, which they list on their flavor boards.

5 stars on the unique flavor creations, 3 stars for value and ice cream 'creaminess?'. Seriously lots of unique flavors, and we were able to try a handful. Beet was surprisingly delicious, also had the carrot cake with chunks of carrot cake in it. You can get it in a waffle cone, or bowl as well. They do sell pre-packed pints so you can take more - to go!

Oh my gyat it’s so expensive 😭😭 but so tasty I’m fine with indulging & I’d come here more often if I had a 100k salary. But this was $40 so I’m taking myself back to in & out or McDonald’s😔 staff is amazing tho! My dumbahh left my keys in the bathroom and this super pretty girly working let me know and returned my keys to me. Thanks yall!!

Today was my first time to visit a Shake Shack. I’ve heard very good things about their hamburgers and was excited to give it a try. A gentleman working the counter was very helpful guiding me through the kiosk to order a smashburger and an order of fries. After waiting what seemed like an unusually long time, my order was delivered to the table. The burger was small, but very tasty. The bun was very soft and delicious The lettuce was, as the picture shows, tiny and completely wilted I was unable to bite through it, as it slid off the burger in one chewy mess. I enjoyed the fries (warm, not hot) and thought the portion was fair for the $4 charge. Overall, I would like to give it a 3.5 star rating if that was possible.

Ordered a well done burger. I really dislike undercooked hamburgers. I’m not apologetic about that - that’s the way I want it and am not comfortable with undercooked hamburgers. Mine was below pink. See photo. Not the first time it’s happened. In terms of a “quality control” issue I bet they put out a percentage of pink or even red (raw) in the middle burgers that would make the manager cringe. I really wish when “well done” is ordered and stamped on the receipt that they would tell the kitchen to pay attention and not just cook it like any other order, even if they are busy! Especially at a premium price! I do really like their burgers and fries but as someone who doesn’t like undercooked hamburgers I will wait a bit till I want to order again. Unfortunately it was take out so I was home and could not ask for a redo.

Had the Big Shack and some onion rings. Burger was fresh but nothing that was really memorable another than it's $10 for a basic burger. Onions rings were quite bland and to serve a tiny 6 piece portion for $5 seemed steep. Good in a pinch for a burger craving. Nothing going that would make me think about it again with other good food options in the area.

Kind of disappointed. I got three flavors in a waffle bowl. Portions were a good value. Unfortunately I struggled to differentiate the cherry crisp from the grapefruit with champagne marshmallows. Neither scoop tasted like cherries but one had a subtle citrus flavor and marshmallow texture. The third flavor I got was a sugar cookie flavor, and that was quite good. I doubt I’ll go back again as I went to lick many years ago and also found the flavors a bit bland then too.

I usually love shake shack, ordered via lunch drop and the burger was rare/med-rare. Inedible for me. If you can’t take in a bulk order and cook everything properly then please don’t accept large orders. This left me without lunch all day at work.

Edit!: Horrible! got rid of the dairy free shake for no reason! No reason to ever go back. The plant based shake is very good. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient. The fries got cold and kinda gross quick.
