Opinions de Quattro Gatti Ristorante Austin
We celebrated my wife’s birthday here and had an incredible dining experience. From the moment we arrived and Nick greeted us at the door and seated us, everything was outstanding. The drinks and food were superb, the service was excellent, and dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. Highly recommend.
Celebrated my daughter's birthday here. Nick could not have been more accommodating, and gracious. They allowed us to decorate a space in the restaurant for the dinner and created personalized menu items for her and her friends. The food was amazing and the service and attention was next level. Nick provided a very family oriented and welcoming space. We were grateful for a wonderful evening! Highly recommend!
My wife and I went to Quattro Gatti for Valentine’s Day and it was exceptional from start to finish. The service alone sets this place apart, incredibly personable, attentive, and genuinely kind without ever feeling overbearing. You can tell they care about the experience just as much as the food. The atmosphere was warm and intimate, perfect for a special night out, and everything we ordered was outstanding. It felt authentic, thoughtful, and well-executed across the board. Highly recommend for date night or any occasion where you want great food paired with even better hospitality. We’ll absolutely be back.
My online order for pickup was simple and easy. The reception and take out service at the restaurant was world class. I ordered the Meatball app, 3 meatballs covered in red sauce, with an added note for extra sauce, and an app of the garlic and oil bruschetta….and a tiramisu. The red sauce is absolutely the best I’ve ever tasted, the meatballs, like your grandmother rolled them herself, and the bread was like a biscuit sopping up gravy. The tiramisu was delicious. Over all, I can’t wait to go back, 10/10.
Highly recommend! Charming. Friendly and attentive staff. Fantastic Italian dishes and desserts. You can’t go wrong. Everything we ordered was as delicious as you would expect!
Great food, amazing carbonara, best pizza I might have ever tasted. The atmosphere is also very good, painting everywhere, music, and accessories that make it look like a 5 star restaurant. The only complaint I have is that the service was a tad bit slow, but I guess you have to give something up for such good food. I mean the cooks have to take their time.
We had a really nice dinner here last weekend. Everything was very good. I was especially impressed with the seating arrangements. Our 2 person table was perfectly spaced for a private conversation. Too many restaurants cram tables way too close together. But not here. Nice touch!
No sauce, no problem—this place genuinely took me by surprise. I wasn’t sure how a pizza without sauce would turn out, and now I’m wondering why we ever add it in the first place. The flavors stand on their own, and it just works. My wife and I were taking a walk after visiting the Capitol when we stumbled across it, and the setting couldn’t have been better. The staff was great—professional and sharply dressed—which added to the overall experience. The montanara pizza was presented wonderfully and delivered incredible flavor. I also recommend the tiramisu—it was served beautifully and tasted amazing. If you're visiting the Texas Capitol or just passing through downtown Austin, this restaurant is a must-try.
I rarely leave reviews, but this one is well worth it. Local fav for sure. Great place for a date night or family dinner. My kids are super picky eaters, and they love everything we've ever had there. The pizza is especially awesome, I've had people tell me that it's better than pizza in New York. Definitely worth going out of your way for this one.
Quattro Gatti had a warm inviting atmosphere in what seemed like a historic Austin building. We had the Rigatoni Truffle Sausage which was flavorful and well-prepared, and the house-made Fettuccine Bolognese which was a standout. The wood-fired pizza had a nice crust and fresh ingredients. We enjoyed the burrata appetizer and tiramisu for dessert. Service was friendly and attentive, and the Italian wine paired well with our meal. I took clients but this place seems also perfect for a date night or family dinner. I’ll definitely return to try their seasonal specials. Recommend reserving on OpenTable.
I've eaten here 4 times over the past 4 years or so, once on a date, twice solo before concerts at the Paramount, and once with a friend. I've not had a bad experience here ever. It is a little pricier than other options, and a la carte, but it's a classy spot. The servings typically are smaller than the enormous portions you find at typical American restaurants, so don't come here expecting a dish of pasta the size of a mixing bowl. It is much more like an authentic place you'd find in Italy. I had the ravioli, pizza, and the fettuccine tre "P" (Spinach fettuccine with prosciutto and peas in a Parmesan cream sauce. All dishes tasted great. Service is relaxed - they don't rush you - at least I never have been. Atmosphere is nice, and it has some real al fresca dining (not so great in Texas summer!). Staff is friendly. I work walking distance so I ought to visit more often. They are only open for dinner.
Holy cow! This place was absolutely amazing! Best pizza I've had in a long time! I can't remember which pizza i got bc the waitress recommended it (its the one with arugula on it) I wasnt sure I would like it bc it had prosciutto on it but wow. Husband is a picky eater but Loves pizza. He was worried about it not being up to his standard of pizza hut lol but he also enjoyed it. He just got a regular Pepperoni Pizza. We went on a Saturday night and it was pretty busy, they also had the governor there but we were still able to get our food in a timely manner.
Luckily we made a reservation because it was very busy when we arrived. We liked the bustling atmosphere. It emptied out as it got to closing. Service was friendly and attentive. The pizza was wonderful. The pasta was very blah tasting and under seasoned until we had the server get us a lot of Parmesan cheese and then it was delicious. Cheesecake and gelato were good. Disappointed that the bread basket had to be paid for - usually Italian restaurants of this price point provide that complimentary.
The most Authentic we've found in Austin. Excellent service, the staff was amazing. We each had pizzas, if you're hungry they're just enough for one. You could easily split one between two, that just leaves more room for dessert. We had tiramisu and it. Was. Amazing. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back. If you're having a night out downtown this is a great place to start. Grazie!
By far, the best Italian food in Austin! Trust me when I say you can’t get any better, I’d almost say in Texas. We ordered the Meatballs, they literally just melted in your mouth, unreal. Shared the large Caesar salad, I’ve had salads from $20-$40 and this one beats it by a mile! I ordered the Chicken Parm, my better half ordered the Rigatoni Truffle Sausage… taste, was unprecedented… and dessert, of course we couldn’t leave without a taste of cheesecake! I can’t wait till we go back, next we’re trying Pizzas!
Got there for dinner on a Tuesday night. The place was reasonably full. I was seated immediately at the bar. Asked for a wine, but it tasted and smelled a little old. The bar tender was nice enough to give me a taste of a couple of other wines and I picked one I liked (Super Tuscan). Got a Caprese Salad. It was OK. A lot of tomatoes, some mozzarella and literally one leaf of Basil. Had to ration that Basil leafy for each bite of the salad!! Also ordered a Pizza. The crust was thin but overall the pizza was average at best. Also got a dessert, brownie something and I suggest best not to order it. I enjoyed the ambiance (4-stars) and the service (5-Stars), but the food left a lot to be desired.
Well, that was a mistake. The food was not traditional Italian. Looks like it but doesn't taste like it. Very small portion for a dinner. Waited almost 10 minutes for a server, and that's even after getting my water from the host. 12 people in there, and nobody even looked at me, "not my table attitude". If you like eating alfresco...you won't here, you can't even hear over all the "protests at the Capital. That's killing the restaurants in this area. I always like to leave on a good note... Place looks great, and the olive oil was so fresh!!
Avoid if you dislike disappointment. My wife and I are on a hunt for the best Italian restaurant in Austin, sadly this is not it for many reasons. As soon as we walked in the hostess informed us the pizza oven was under maintenance, so pizza wouldn’t be an option. That was a little disappointing because we planned on trying a pizza and their Carbonara. But I get it, things happen. Ordered meatballs as an appetizer only to find out those also weren’t available… seemed odd especially since we got there shortly after opening. Carbonara came and it was okay at best, kind of flavorless. My wife got their gnocchi special, which was actually pretty good. We ordered tiramisu for dessert… you guessed it, also not available. How are you going to run a restaurant but be missing half your menu items? Even without that, the food we did have wasn’t good enough for us to consider coming back to try the pizza.
Not worth the money nor the time! From service to food, this was the worst experience and restaurant we dined in. Food was overcooked, no flavor, poor presentation and service was slow. Noticed our waitress on the phone more than waiting on her tables. Over priced entrees and not worth the money we spent. Better Italian food from Olive Garden than here, we don’t even like Olive Garden!
Your Valentine’s Day menu was awful. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times in the past 10 years and it’s been amazing. I took my husband here for Valentine’s Day and it was awful. The prix fix fixe menu was HEB/Costco level food. I ordered salmon which came with chopped zucchini and carrots. I’m not a chef but I’ve made better at home. It was fast-food level food. I’m honestly shocked at how bad it was. Whoever your new owners are should be embarrassed. I’ll never go back.
I wanted to like this place — the restaurant is in a great location — but the experience was disappointing overall, both in food and service. Food: I ordered the watermelon salad, which was clearly not fresh. The watermelon tasted like it had been cut too long ago and had absorbed other food flavors. It reminded me of when you mix too many colors together — instead of something bright and fresh, you get a dull, dirty tone. That’s exactly how the watermelon tasted: watery and muddled, not clean or crisp. The salad itself was just chunks of watermelon tossed with spring greens, uneven pieces of cheese, and what seemed like store-bought dressing — carelessly made. The pizza wasn’t much better. The oven worked fine, but the dough felt poorly stored and handled, lacking any real texture or flavor. Service: When I asked about the daily specials written on the blackboard, the server (an Asian man) read the entire list aloud instead of explaining briefly. I stopped him when he mentioned the watermelon salad — not wanting to embarrass him — but he misunderstood and removed it from my bill without asking. At first, I thought it was just confusion, but looking back, it felt quite insulting. I’m half-deaf, so I couldn’t hear everything clearly, but I could sense he wasn’t paying much attention to me. What made it worse was noticing how much more attentive he was toward other (non-Asian) guests. That sense of bias was disappointing, especially coming from someone of the same background. To the Owner: I’m a former food business owner myself, and my family still operates a franchise group with over 170 employees back home. From one professional to another — what are you doing? You have a great location and solid potential, but poor food handling and careless service will ruin your reputation faster than you realize.
The place advertises itself as an Italian restaurant, but the experience was far from authentic. The focaccia was not the right bread nor made with the proper technique — it felt more like a regular flatbread without the signature texture or flavor. The pasta was overcooked and definitely not al dente, which is a basic standard in Italian cuisine. The only positive was the service — the staff was very friendly and attentive. But if you’re looking for genuine Italian food, this isn’t the place.
