Updated review: The chicken parm is still amazing four years later. Actually maybe the best in town. First review: Chicken Parmesan was delish! This place actually came recommended from a waitress that works at another Italian restaurant. This little gem lived up to and even exceeded expectations! We ordered our food to go because we like to eat our food on our couch and Netflix, lol, but when I walked into this place, I wanted to stay. The vibe was happening. Hoping Reale will open a South location so I don't have to drive 35 minutes north when I want some good Chicken Parmesan.

Been coming to Reale's for nearly 30 years. Always a pleasure! Staff has been there forever and care, owner cares about the quality of food and service. Inexpensive date night! Veal piccata or Parmesan highly recommended. Cocktails are good. Highly recommend going on a live music night. The old man crooners banging out Frank Sinatra and the like are an absolute delight. Great birthday dinner. We had my Granddaughters with us and the server knew just what to do to keep a 5 year old and 1 year old happy as we all enjoyed Nana's birthday. Can't say enough on how well we were taken care of.

All of the food was amazing. The salads are very good as well. I recommend trying the lasagna. It was very flavorful and done very well.

Reale's is my go-to for Italian food. Their cauliflower crust small pizzas are fantastic and it's not easy to make fantastic cauliflower crust pizza! Love their pasta dishes. They are always friendly, accommodating, and the atmosphere is one of a neighborhood, comfortable gathering spot. Homey. Love this place and would recommend.

I've been to Reale's several times over the years. I've never had a bad pizza or plate of food from the restaurant. I took my son there for his first birthday. He is now 15 years old and we still love this restaurant. I now live close to Manor, but Reale's is well with a drive to the Anderson Mill area. 1 of the best Italian food restaurants in Town. Try this place before you go to any Italian food franchise.

I’ve been to many Italian places all over the US and my favorite dish is the eggplant Parm. You can pretty much tell how the rest of the menu is going to be if you order certain things and the eggplant Parm was delicious! since then I’ve ordered mussels, eggplant siciliano, soup, cake and bruschetta. I have yet to get to the other side of the menu $ but it has been delicious every time and I’ve always gotten it “to go” or delivered, which is really impressive that it’s still amazing in “to go” containers.

We're new to Austin and I was looking for a restaurant that served lobster ravioli and found Reale's. We were delightfully surprised with the atmosphere of this place. Ken Kruse was singing throughout dinner and the food was amazing. Our server was the best and as we spoke with her we found that she has been there for over 25 years. The owner also came by and introduced himself and shared a little background to this family owned business. Such a great little spot!

Don't let the unassuming location fool you. This place is better than okay, it's truly great. Food really doesn't get much better than this. Had the the Sausage and peppers and the shrimp Scampi. Marone! I'll have it again!

Excellent family owned and run Italian restaurant. The food is exceptional as is the decor and service! Our waitress Amanda was wonderful and made the restaurant that more special. I loved my salmon dish as well as my husband's veal saltimbocca! Much of their pasta is home made and every dish we've ordered has been delicious! During the weekdays classic singers perform in the restaurant.. This has become one of my favorite restaurants to go to! I highly recommend for everyone.

Got the Chicken Parm and my boyfriend got the Baked Ziti. Both great portions and tasted amazing! Cindy was our server and was so kind and friendly :). Loved the live music as well.

We had an amazing dinner here and our server Sherry, was awesome! This is truly a hidden gem in Austin and I highly recommend you try it out. You get a lot of food for your money here too.

Stopped in for a business lunch here today. We were seated promptly and it was not crowded. They offer a standard menu as well as luncheon menu; we ordered a large pizza, the Ala Reale special. Service was attentive and friendly and the pizza is superb. We all agreed it has a delicious crust, generous toppings and was served piping hot. We enjoyed our fill and still had a to-go box. Adult beverages are available, desserts look tempting and many Italian classics are on their menu. Live music is presented regularly. Dining alfresco is available on the deck. Overall, I felt that I found a new favorite for pizza and a taste of Italy in northern Austin.

Gino (the professional godfather owner with a sense of humor that makes everyone around him and the staff laugh or roll their eyes) and his phenomenal staff made me feel like family and everyone there tonight came in greeting like family. :) Restrooms super clean and well kept, even have a sanitize spot at the entrance and not the cheap stuff that breaks out your hands Shared parking lot next to ATA Martial Arts with handicap accessible options and lots of seating at tables and comfy booths and tables perfect high thru out the building. Love jazz music every Tuesday night and other live talents as well make the vibe all more special! The Veal white wine gluten free pasta dish with mushrooms was delicious beyond words to do justice and served in a short time right after my order from Natalie whose laugh and corky character are contagious :-D Lots of menu items and Monday recommended to try their calzone specials which are hand made with quality wheat onsite. Will definitely be back! May very well be the best darn Italian I have had yet in Central Texas! Also reasonably priced with nice bar and lots of wine and alcoholic drinks options and tons of dangerous deserts! ;)

Best Caesar salad I’ve ever had, hands down, and I tried a lot. Every leaf is perfectly coated and they are not shy with the parmesan on top. The pasta was cooked to perfection, I’m sure I could have tossed it at the wall and it would have stuck. The marinara and Alfredo sauces are delicious. I got the veil and the broth that came with it was so good. The calamari is amazing, a chewing to it like no other.

It is not hyperbole when I say this is top-tier Italian food. REAL Italian food. Freshest-tasting, house made sauce. The server, Giovanni, was incredible, great personality, solid charisma. The atmosphere is so homegrown, very pleasant. This place is very special. I had the Chicken Siciliano.

If you haven't eaten here, you're missing out. Reale's Italian café is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a while. They make their own cannolis and have fresh bread.This place is a must! They also have live music on some nights and a great cocktail menu.

Service was fast. Good quality food at fair prices. Clean and romantic restaurant. What you would expect from a good quality Italian restaurant.

After a long overdue absence of dining at this place, I was quickly reminded why I enjoyed going there in the first place. Fine Italian dining is hard to come by in North Austin, and Reale's Italian Cafe delivered. They take reservations, I was seated right away, and they offer a safe gluten-free section for those who suffer from Celiac and autoimmune disease. I enjoyed a bruschetta appetizer, a house salad with in-house dressing, followed by the entrees of Chicken Piccata, and Chicken Alfredo with the suggested add of broccoli, which proved to be very tantalizing and yummy. Definitely impressed with the overall food and service the only reason I had left that place was cuz I was no longer in the area but it was definitely worth the drive. I will be back in the near future to keep trying more entrees.

Came here on a Thursday night. They had live music playing. We began with drinks. I chose a chocolate martini and my hubby ordered an old fashioned. We ordered the appetizer trio of mushrooms stuffed with sausage. So good. Apparently the sausage is brought in from NEW Jersey. Yummy. Calamari and mussels. We ordered the white pizza with spinach and artichoke. Omg so good. And great the next night reheated in the oven. We'll be back for sure. Great waiter Donald. Thank you.

My husband and I make sure we have date night at least twice a month. Tonight was date night. It was the most romantic date night from start to finish. There was live music, he was great. Our service was exceptional. Kat was her name and she was friendly, professional and made our dinner experience a great one. I definitely recommend this fabulous Italian restaurant. The pictures do not do justice. The food was very good and the atmosphere relaxing. We will definitely be coming back and I highly recommend.

This Italian restaurant is the best kept secret in the Austin area. What a great success story the Reale family has. The strip shopping center look is deceiving on the outside, but the inside is really beautiful. The food is excellent. We have plans on returning to take our friends. Go see for yourself. Their shrimp fettuccine is awesome as well as other dishes. Gino Reale is a very friendly respectable owner/manager and is so friendly and thankful for visiting the restaurant. Some nights they have music to enjoy as you eat. We did take out this time because they had a rare lunch gathering for over 100 guest.

Bill was a FANTASTIC server. Even on a busy Friday night with many tables, he made sure we felt special and taken care of. The tomato basil soup (soup of the day) was delicious. Highly recommend dipping your breadsticks in it. The pasta seemed to be a tiny bit overcooked and under-salted, but delicious nonetheless. Very good experience and we will be returning.

A group of 6 of us met at Reale’s to catch up on our lives. We had a reservation and our table was ready on arrival. We ordered wine and entrees (no appetizers). I had the seafood Alfredo that had very large and delicious scallops and shrimp. Another couple shared a monstrous calzone! Everything was incredible. Our server was sweet and attentive.

Reale's Italian Café has always felt like my home away from home, or as they say, my home away from Rome. Everything on the menu is good, from the pasta to the pizza to the desserts. You really cannot go wrong with any order. It is the kind of place that feels comfortable whether you are eating with family, catching up with friends, or even dining by yourself. The atmosphere is simply nice — cozy, welcoming, and full of that classic Reale’s charm. It is a spot I always look forward to visiting.

Reale's Italian restaurant is a family-owned business. The bread is made fresh daily in the resturant. It is a mid price restaurant and everything is delicious. If you ever find yourself on the north side of Austin, you must go. If you love Italian food you're going to love this place. I recommend the Chicken Genovese.

Haven’t been in years and I’d forgotten how amazing their food is!! I had the lasagna and my husband the chicken parmigiana. Both tasted so good, love their sauce. Bread for the table was hot and fresh, salad was the perfect size, entree delicious and dessert ( cheesecake) yummy!! We ordered a bottle of wine and it was the perfect accompaniment to our meal. We will definitely return again soon. Only hiccup was they did not have our reservation in their books and we were seated in the back room next to a table with several very loud kids. After speaking to the hostess again and showing her confirmation of our reservation she moved us to the main dining area so we could enjoy our date night.

Today is Friday and I decided to come to reales and spend an evening with myself reading a book and eating good food. They had the Lenten special, it’s a plate described as “Juicy jumbo shrimp dusted in flour and sautéed to perfection, topped with a lemon garlic butter white wine cream sauce. Served with mushrooms risotto and grilled asparagus. With the choice of soup and salad” I chose a salad :) “ This was definitely cooked to perfection by my favorite cook Cristian. The flavors are amazing! I had to stop and write this review before I even finished my plate because I don’t want to rush through the flavors. My first drink was made from Julie, a lemon drop martini and it was refreshing, sweet but not overwhelming a perfect drink to start my night. I asked Jay Jay to make me a Mexican martini because she checked up on me and OMG this Mexican martini is DEFINITELY a Mexican Martini to perfection!! Love it!!! Reales is a place to come and relax after a long week of working so hard, everyone is super friendly and everyone makes you feel very welcomed always with a smile and providing amazing customer service! Joel is also a great guy, always making sure the staff is taken care of which trickles to customers being treated even better! This is a must visit Italian restaurant!

Real NY Italian Pizza, Subs, Pasta, Plates & Salads in NW Austin. What more can I say, but this is one of the very best New York Style Pizzas in Austin. Their dinners are incredible as well. The Pork Chop is like Sunday Dinner at my Grandma's in Brooklyn. The Italian Sausage on their Pizza is as good as it gets. The service is also as good as you will see in this moderate price range. They have a full service bar with liquor, beer and wine. They also have live entertainment after 6pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. For a great dining experience, a quick lunch out or a carryout Hero or Pizza, Reale's always comes through when I get homesick and need to scratch that itch. Give them a try, and you'll be sold too.

The fried calamari was way too crunchy for me but the food overall was pretty tasty. I liked the shrimp alfredo but it still felt like something was missing. I would definitely come back again and try the chicken parmesan next time. It looks really good. Service was amazing, they boxed up my leftovers for me and were quick to take orders and refill water. Reale's was a pretty good Italian place. The ambiance was nice with music and dim lighting. Started dinner with the calamari and had Shrimp Scampi as the entree. Entree came with a house salad and bread-sticks. Overall the dinner was great. I did notice on the bill, they charge for a soft drink if you have carbonated water as your beverage. I've never had this happen before at a restaurant.

My mother-in-law took my bf and me out for his birthday (by the way the desert was free for the birthday boy lol). A very beautiful place 😍 I loved the atmosphere, the vibe it gave was peaceful and friendly, makes you feel like you want to wear something casual but nice before going. Greek salad with grilled chicken. Appropriately sized. Taste was good. Correctly done for the price -- edit Since owner asked below, service was a big issue because the salad came out about 15 mins after all other main dishes. Everyone at the table was nearly half done before my salad came out. Server kind of apologized but rather than admit to forgetting the order, just said it was from the other side of the kitchen. Maybe she didn't want to walk over there and get it. Either way, that was not great.

I've eaten standard Italian fare here several times and it's always been good. Tonight I decided to review their Pizza. They are one of the few places in Austin that actually list a Sicilian pizza. It was very good extremely flavorful sauce crispy crust but to be honest for Sicilian I'm used to a much thicker pizza I would just classify this is a deep dish. I'm definitely going to go back and try their standard crust pizza but I don't think I'm going to get the Sicilian again. Regardless I highly recommend this restaurant.

We’ve gone to this place, so many times, and never had a chance to write a review but this time it needs to say everything is always perfect. The atmosphere the drinks, the desert and the service. Sandy is amazing. The bartender is great. Never disappointed we drive all the way south to come to this little place. Must try delicious.

I'm still on the hunt for great pizza (NY Style) to remind me of where I grew up - Long Island! However, lately, I've been dying for a good eggplant parm hero (aka:sub - for anyone outside of NYC/LongIsland). Reale's is owned by NYr's and had been referred to us by some long term customers. Great service! Some reviews mentioned issues with service -we didn't experience any of that and our server was well versed in the menu/ingredients. Breadsticks are house made and free with the meal - they were very tasty and chewy, but I would have preferred a bit crunchy or more cooked. My foodie partner husband and I ordered a small cheese pizza - and were not disappointed! Tasty marinara, but not overwhelming on the pizza. Great crust, with a good crisp. See pic. I remembered to take a pic of the undercarriage this time!! You could fold the pizza and no droop! As good as this pizza was, I was also dying for my eggplant! So I tried not to overstuff myself too quickly! I ordered the eggplant parm hero, and my hub ordered the Sal's Calzone - stuffed with sausage, canadian bacon, ricotta, cheeses and marinara. It comes with some marinara to dip in also. Eggplant - this was a VERY good parm hero! My only nit - they bake their own bread and the bread was good, but could have used crunching up in the oven. I would ask for that next time. I'd also have them go lighter on the sauce or put extra on the side - because it sogs up the bread. Otherwise, very tasty and eggplant was tender and cooked perfectly! Calzone was also great according to hub - no complaints! Food was good, and we will definitely be back!!

My dining experience here was always good when I would dine in pre pandemic, but I tried ordering a pizza through uber eats and it was honestly not great. Maybe thats the fault of uber eats or what, but it definitely tasted like the pizza was made an hour before it was picked up.

Underwhelming I got the Italian sausage and pepper plate, the sausage was mushy they should grill the sausage and leave it whole, only tasted of fennel seed. The marinara was all spice and no flavor, the "breadsticks" were barely cooked and bland. Sorry but probably will not be returning. .

The chicken cacciatore was ok. Sauce was thin and wouldn't stick to the pasta and missing some seasoning, my two issues. Nice large portion and had a good portion of chicken breast that was tender. Lots of grilled peppers, onions and mushrooms. The breadsticks were warm, tender and great seasoning. The vinegrette salad dressing was very good, nice tang to it. I want to go back and try their lasagna, the table next to me ordered it and really liked it.

The food at Reale's has been excellent without any issue in the past, however, this recent visit was not as good. The food order took longer than usual, my chicken parm was dry and actually lacking in taste and had a hard texture. Unusual for this restaurant. They were busy but not any more than other times. Several guests in our party ordered the same item but I am not including any other opinions.

Chicken Parm with Alfredo sauce & Chicken and Sausage Norcena were good; the Chocolate Eruption was great. The atmosphere Definitely takes away from the experience. Because of the exterior and the website photos, we were hoping for an Italian atmosphere; instead it feels like a cocktail night club... if the purple and blue recessed lighting were switched out with mood lighting it would make a big difference. or maybe it isnt supposed to have an Italian feel? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The house sangria was delicious!  And I really enjoyed the Meomi pinot noir. Two wonderful drinks I enjoyed with our meal. The fried cheese was insane! No skinny sticks here. Here are rhomboid shaped cheese, which provide a very satisfying bite of cheese each time. Surprising and delicious! Did not receive breadsticks until into the meal when we requested them. The cannoli didn't have a good crunch and the cream was not creamy. It was gritty. My companion's spaghetti with marinara and fresh mushrooms was spot on. My rigatoni with marinara was disappointing; it took red pepper flakes to give the sauce some noticeable flavor. It was a busy night and our server was very friendly.  But she seemed to be assigned too many tables.  We appreciated her efforts to give us good service. We found the atmosphere to provide just the right amount of intimacy for booths. However, lights kept flickering, which we didn't understand.

The atmosphere was not very welcoming. The service started out strong but became virtually non-existent after the salad and bread were served. The side salad had fresh lettuce and other ingredients and was mixed with a dressing that tasted like it was homemade. The pork chop italian style was creative and an above average dish. The pork chop was a good-sized cut topped with roasted peppers and onions. I did not order the mushrooms. The pork chop was slightly overcooked and a tad bit dry, but overall it was pleasant and the flavors sunk into the pork. The marinara sauce served with the side dish of pasta was a little on the bland side. The server never asked us how our meals were, whether we needed any refills, and we had to tack her down to get out bill. The place was pretty empty so there was no legitimate excuse for the poor service. There was really nothing that would make me want to go back.

We recently visited Reale’s Italian Café and had a mixed experience. The garlic bread was really good — warm, buttery, and full of flavor — and the Italian salad was fresh and nicely seasoned. We also tried the Manicotti, which was delicious, creamy, and full of rich cheese flavor. However, the Chicken Alfredo was just okay — the sauce felt a bit bland and could’ve used more flavor and creaminess. It wasn’t bad, just not as rich or satisfying as we expected for an authentic Italian spot. The only downside was the service. We needed some napkins, but our server never came by to check on us during the meal. Also, when we first arrived, the manager at the entrance was a bit tough with us — not rude, but definitely not the warm welcome you’d hope for when dining out. Overall, the food had some high points, especially the garlic bread and Manicotti, but the experience could be much better with friendlier service and a more flavorful Alfredo sauce.

Came here with a group and ordered the cheese sticks and chicken parm - I liked how the cheese sticks were triangular and crispy, but wasn't impressed with the chicken Parm at all - it was the driest piece of chicken I've ever had and I ended up sending it back. Next time I want chicken parmesan, I'll go to Olive Garden.

We decided to come here based on the reviews alone. But we quickly found out that it definitely hasn't been rated properly. Appetizers were out, and the soups weren't available 😔. Stuffed mushrooms were just okay, not really any flavoring. The bread sticks were rubbery and drenched in what I'm guessing is butter? The menu says that the pork chop would be the best I've ever had, um no. It was ok, and the spaghetti it came with was just an odd combination. The best part of our visit was the Manhattan drink we ordered. Very strong and delicious. Xo

Lunch today with friends. I must say it was underwhelming. The young lady serving us was the 5 star highlight. I had a chicken parm sub. No flavor in sauce and breading was non-existant. 3 others got the regular chicken parm with spaghetti side. One sent it back, the other 2 were not digging it. Flavorless and thin breading was off-putting. I have gone off and on for many years and hadn't been for a while. I was surprisingly disappointed. Wish it was better for the price. I understand it's difficult to run a business in Austin but please make more of an effort. I probably won't return for a long while as there are better choices these days. I hate leaving this review but disliked my meal more.

It honestly pains me to write this review because at its core, this place is charming. It’s been around forever, it’s cute, and it very much feels like a neighborhood staple. That said, there’s just too much to unpack here not to share so people know what they’re walking into. Right out of the gate, the pizza is the best thing on the menu. Full stop. If you come here, that’s what you should order. The other Italian dishes are fine, but nothing memorable or out of the ordinary. Also, fair warning, someone in the kitchen really loves garlic. Like… significantly more than you’d expect from an Italian restaurant. If you enjoy garlic-forward everything, you’ll be thrilled. If not, prepare accordingly. Now, dining in. Honestly, it’s a complete waste of time and money. The lighting is absolutely brutal. Think bright white science lab lights mixed with warm sconces, creating a strange, hazy, hospital-meets-date-night vibe that does no one any favors. The service was painfully slow. To be fair, this may have been specific to our experience, as other tables seemed to get food much faster. Our waitress was handling both our table and the bar across the restaurant, which meant long stretches of being forgotten about entirely. The appetizer sealed the deal. A $25 charcuterie board that was barely a step above Oscar Mayer lunch meat, tossed on a wooden board with grapes and stale bread. It was genuinely bad and wildly overpriced. Save your money and go to Tuscany if that’s what you’re craving. Bottom line: order the pizza to go and you’ll probably be happy. Sit down and dine in, and your experience may vary… a lot.

First of all, I'd like to say the service was great. Everyone was very friendly. I chose this place because it was near my hotel, I love Italian food, and it has good ratings. The breadsticks were interesting. I'm not sure what they are going for with the taste ...it tasted very bland. Was it supposed to be plain bread? Garlic? I tasted nothing. The soup of the day was bland and watery. I ordered the chicken Alfredo. I'm so sorry to say it was the worst Chicken Alfredo I've ever had. It was watery. The noodles tasted watery somehow. The chicken even tasted like water. That's the only way I can describe the taste...there was no seasoning, no flavor, it was awful. I couldn't finish it. We didn't even want to risk dessert. From start to finish, it was bland. I was also told I'd be getting half-priced appetizers for happy hour, but no discount was given. I didn't bother to even say anything. Just paid and left. I have no idea how this place has such great reviews. Probably since it's been around for awhile and I noticed elderly people seem to come here often. The service was so great, I was really hoping the food would also be great. I hate leaving these reviews, but I felt the need to say something because it was by far the worst Italian food I've ever had. Sorry! No, I did not speak to a manager about it. I'm leaving a review.

This place would be the best in Austin if only they would change a single item, the horrible breadsticks. These breadsticks are hard as a rock and almost impossible to chew. They are brutal. I mean every place in town has garlic bread that is soft and tasty. Shame, the one star rating is based on the fact that this is the first thing you eat and it's terrible. EVERYTHING else we ordered here was delicious.

Ordered takeout from here because the reviews were good and everything was literally inedible except the breadsticks. All were watery, under seasoned and had a sour taste. Spent 75$ on all of this, save your money and time and skip this place.

All I can ask is, what happened? The food from this restaurant was always full of flavor and kept me coming back. The last two times I've ordered from here, you can tell there's a change. I don't know if they started using microwave, out of the box, dishes but the flavor is gone. We ordered calamari, the lasagna, and the chicken cacciatore. The sauce on both main dishes was awful, devoid of flavor. Almost like a TV dinner. I'm writing this in the hopes the chef sees this drop in quality. He's a good man and I hate to see his restaurant lose business because of some poor execution in the kitchen. I'll probably give this place one more shot in a month or so. No improvement; no more patronage.
