The food here is amazing. If you want authentic Dominican empanadas you have to come here. I came on a recommendation from someone and it did not disappoint. On certain nights they have live music as well. I ended up ordering 4 more empanadas to go and will be back here very soon.

Ooooh, y'all! The tostones are popping, the chicken empanadas are everything, and Melvin is all class. Definitely stop by this little jewel, so worth it. Located at Kenny Dorham's Backyard, there's room for little ones to run around, sometimes live music, always welcoming folks, and Doughminican is where it's at. Always say "yes" to jalapeños!

Excellent catering!! I ordered empanadas for a school event and I could not even grab a picture because they were gone in a second! Everyone was delighted. The service was awesome, cordial and punctual. and the packaging was superb. Lots of sauces and utensils as well. Overall super happy with Melvin and his empanadas! GRACIAS!! Can’t wait to come back and eat there!

Yep this man and his food will make your day. The empanadas with the salad are a taste treat that we crave and you will too when you have ventured out. Add the music and the chill outdoor location this should be you COVID home.

Love the word play. The man inside the trailer is very warm and welcoming. He accepts cash. The empanada was delicious. Ratatouille. Vegetarian. There is cheeze inside but not overwhelmingly. The pan is very nice texture and delicious. The green sauce is very good although not spicy. What a nice touch to press the word: DOUGHMINICAN into the empanada. Que cool. I will return. Gracias.

OH MY GOD! This is THE spot for empanadas. But more than that this is THEEEE spot for tostones. Fresh, crunchy, and garlicky, so good I regretted getting just one order to share because I could eat at least 2 and a half orders on my own.

We grabbed some empanadas and tostones as we were leaving Austin to head back home. Got one each of the chicken, beef, and ratatouille, and none of them disappointed! Tostones were also delicious - crisp and yummy, and the sautéed garlic/herb/salt on top complemented the plantain really well. Pineapple juice also delish! We will be back for sure.

Dont let the "worn" feeling keep you away from this gem. Came across this place by nessecity...guy opens door, sells me on his empenadas...watched the dude hand cut and make everything. Handed it to me with a genuine smile and said I'd love them. Salad was fresh, green and had a nice citrus flavor. But the empanda....I thought they looked a little overdone. NOPE. Light,flaky crunch followed by perfectly cooked dough. While the beef one disappointed (i was not thinking it would be ground beef), the chicken was outrageous. Moist, perfectly cooked, the cheese complimented it...glad I only got 2 or I would have gained 20 pounds eating as many as I could

Ive had bad luck finding delicious empanadas (especially in Texas!) so when I bought these and the chef said “these will be the best empanadas you’ve had” I was skeptical. My husband is usually picky and complains about lack of flavor a lot. These empanadas HIT THE SPOT. We devoured them. I’m sad that I’m leaving Austin soon but this will be my go to spot whenever I return. Good price, amazing empanadas. As difficult as it may be, it’s best to let them cool off a little so you can really taste every piece of these morsels. I ordered a beef and a chicken- both with cheese and jalapeños. Mmmmm.

I found this food truck during the Austin Artisan Market event. The venue has plenty of outdoor seating shared with other food trucks. Get the empanadas! We tried both the beef and chicken, and they were delicious with a cheesy pull. My friends loved them so much that they went back for more. The portions were generous, and the sauces were flavorful. The staff member who took my order was very patient and nice.

The empanadas were incredible. Chef Marvin puts cheese in them, a unique touch and the sauces are a great addition. Tried tostones for the first time and although I’m not a huge fan of plantain I was very impressed with how flavorful and crispy they were. And although it was a hot day, the food park has great seating area that’s shaded. Just be ware that the empanadas are made to order so they do take a bit to come out.

Love the food, they make everything from scratch. There service is also very personal and they are very nice people . Highly recommend them.

Freshly made empanadas were delicious. I ordered the chicken, beef and the veggie one. They were all good. Served with a green and an orange sauce, not spicy. Very flavorful. Their lemonade is also fresh. Definitely a great spot to hangout and enjoy some music and delicious food.

I am speechless. This place is incredible. I’ve had empanadas from so many places and thought I knew good. I was WRONG. These empanadas have set my new standard. Not only is the bread flaky and moist but the inside is PACKED with meat. If you’re debating between the chicken and beef, go with beef. Chicken is also good but the beet is phenomenal. My boyfriend brought me to this place after going for the first time 5ish months ago and they remembered him, even called him by name. Such friendly sweet people running this place. I cannot wait to go back.

I ordered the beef empanada ($5) and also had a bite of the ratatouille one. I enjoyed the ratatouille, but the beef empanada was my favorite. They come with chipotle mayo and green sauce, but I thought the beef empanada was seasoned so well and had enough flavor on its own so I didn’t end up using the sauces. The beef empanada contains delicious melted cheese that oozes out, and I believe the ratatouille empanada also had some cheese. They come out super hot, so I’m sure if I ordered them to go they would still be warm by the time I got home. This spot definitely satisfied my empanada craving. I loved that it’s part of a food truck park, so you can explore other food options as well. I tried the brisket and cheddar kolache from Kerlaches, and if I had to choose between the two I would definitely pick the beef empanada from The Doughminican!

What a wonderful spot to come eat! I grew up eating and making Empanadas and Tostones with my Mom as a kid, and I have to say that these are the best Empanadas I've ever had. They're packed full of filling, which was super moist and comforting. The owners also both bring such a great energy, and you can tell they put passion into what they're making. Tostones were also bomb, and the fried Garlic oil garnish was the best. Refreshing Pineapple juice too, and I will be back and spreading the word! :)

These empanadas are generously stuffed pouches! I enjoyed the beef and chicken versions. The chef uses a pasta maker machine to roll out the empanada dough per order, so the fried empanada dough is both crispy on the outside, but juicy on the inside. Great attention to their fillings, and very reasonably priced. Also, that last pinch of melted cheese inside one of the corners of the empanada is a very nice touch.

Being born and raised in Miami, Florida, I was very spoiled with a wide variety of great foods, especially Hispanic food. I haven't found many places outside of Miami with true, authentic, Hispanic, delicious, food. Melvin’s food truck Doughminican changed that for me. This is real, delicious, authentic, handmade Dominican food! Very pleased and impressed! Will definitely keep going back and recommend to everyone I know.

The beef empanada with cheese was sooooooooo good! The tostones with sautéed minced garlic was crispy, with perfect amount of salt with garlic to top it off. The limeade was refreshing & not too sweet, which is something I look for. The limeade was the best I've ever had honestly & was perfect for the heat. Also, it is fresh squeezed. I'll be back again for sure.
