Very good food and excellent service. Authentic as it can get.
Authentic Mexican cuisine! Delicious breakfast tacos! 🌮 Super friendly staff!
Big plates worth it! So delicious 😋
I had the mix plate of pastor and barbacoa and was very pleased with both. I will definitely be back.
Great food, great prices. A little piece of home. I drive 45 mins just to eat here
Great place if you want to buy in bulk. Carnitas, cabrito and beef fajitas are amazing. Also make sure you buy tortillas.
I love these little places tucked here and there. Great food!
My manager and me we love eating there, I love the caldo de Res. Yummy
Delicious food for a good price 😋 .staff are very friendly and attentive.
Great Mexican Food spot, I must recommend the steak fajita plate it's really good and fresh!!
Great food they have Lamb ,Carnitas that is pork fresh corn tortillas its great to eat there or take aout.
Very easy to find what I needed and friendly staff.
Usually they served carnitas very well, exept this time. I was serve with extra, extra Fat. Othen than that always good.
You can't go wrong eating at this place because they literally make everything from scratch. Even the tortillas are freshly made.
I wish they had a menu other than pictures all over the place, but everything we had was delicious and authentic. We had: chile relleno, desebrada, chicharrón, carnitas, and barbacoa. The crema and fresh tortillas reminded me of summers in Mexico, so good!
Never seems to disappoint.. they have great service the orchata is always fire not to mention the amount of meat you get on your tacos amazing place and well worth a try
Oh man, this place is awesome. A slice of the very Best that Mexico has ever produced. The staff treat you like family, and the cost is so low I felt guilty. (Left a Big Tip though).
Very authentic Mexican tortilleria with wonderful food. Traditional barbacoas, carnitas, lamb. They are attached to a sit down restaurant. I'll be back!
I love the food in this place they give you plenty of food for your money always please always satisfy I will come back as much as I can
Two kinds of restaurants occupy the same eating world, but hail from parallel universes. The first kind strives to be a go-to restaurant for constantly evolving culinary fashion, and as a foodie I occasionally like to break bread with the comet chasers and grail seekers of the trends. Yet my favorite kind of restaurant expresses the evolving & cutting edge of long-standing traditions. Some people call these ethnic restaurants as if their own restaurants aren't ethnic with roots and influences in still other ethnicities. The food at this little tortilleria on Rundberg in a strip center just east of I-35, is authentic and consequently delicious. This isn't a restaurant striving to emulate some ideal or pay lip service to some local misconception about what people in other places eat. Nor does it tone things down so as not to offend the untraveled and the unimaginitive. The food here expresses the heart of a living breathing culture that's not from somewhere else but from the Mexican American community that lives here and now in Austin. Here the diner is safe from the Tex-Mex tradition's endless combinations and permutations of mystery meat, cheese, beans, grease, and tortillas. Of course the Tortilleria in the name means they make tortillas, and I stood at the counter and watched the corn-based flat bread roll down the conveyor belt to form stacks. A worker grabs fat stacks and deftly wraps them by hand, and holding one of these tightly wrapped hot tortillas fresh out of the oven is like holding some living creature in my hands. The freshness spans the menu from tortillas to the huevos rancheros I had for breakfast. My eggs -- you can have them however you want; I got scrambled -- lay hidden beneath a thick layer of a mild red sauce. Servings of refried beans, Spanish rice, and grilled onions made perfect harmony, and I literally loved every bite. Tortilleria La Sabrocita comprises two rooms. One is a store where a queue a dozen people deep waits to buy tortillas and other to-go items. The adjacent room offers sit-down dining with table service from friendly waitresses. Those rancheros were so good that I was desperately sponging my plate for maverick bits of sauce with my last tortilla. My discovery of this place was completely accidental. I was in the area for business other than eating, but now I'll travel purely for the pleasure of eating here. Do you think I liked it?
This is a wonderful tortillaria with fresh tortillas and all kinds of cooked meats by the pound and dinners to go. They also have a sit down restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, and excellent tacos.
GREAT FOOD! They also make tortillas and they are pretty dang good too. I am not a big fan of corn tortillas, but theirs are legit.
Definitely one of my favorite Mexican restaurants, their masisa con cuerito is to die for!! Highly recommend to anyone wants some authentic Mexican dish, this is the place to go!
The puerco con nopalito was amazing! My wife had chicken enchiladas and was equally impressed. She has to avoid gluten and milk products (no queso, crema, or mantequilla). They accommodated perfectly.
The food is excellent they just need to work a little bit more faster in the order's but everything is worth
The Menudo was very good just wish the staff could communicate a little better at least a little more because I had to ask for my check to pay four times before she understood but great food
very authentic which is sometimes hard to find in austin w all those gentrified tacos around town. They work very quick and and the fresh tortillas are amazing!
I was glad I called my order in because the line was out the door. The food was good, and the service was great.
Excellent service, homemade chips, good food. The menu has English translation, but it helps to know enough Spanish to order.
This is a really good place! The food is delicious! Nice staff, good prices , highly recommended.
five stars because i love the carne maziza tacos, literally the only tacos i crave and eat. the staff is a little rude but overall the food makes up for it.
Best place to get barbacoa carnitas and any other Mexican food you like get here early in the weekends food so good runs out also alot of people come here those days
Best authentic Mexican food restaurant in north Austin. The authentic is used to loosely, being a Mexican myself, this is legitimately food that I would eat at my grandparents house growing up!
REAL Mexican food! Everything tasted so authentic! We were the only gueros in there but treated well.
As Always great taste. Meat cooked from scratch omg super delicious, right now dine in tables are closed due to pandemic but 2 min away there is a park with benches and views and kids can play too. Park name is “Gus” Gustavo or something just google it u can’t miss it. I order my food and took my family there. What a great time
Deff recommend! Glad I tried it, the taco plate was worth every penny! My waitress was sweet! Maybe next time I'll grab some pan dulce 😁
It's not pretty, but tortillas and food by the pound are amazing!! I've been coming here years. Must try for yourself. Fresh chicharrónes too.
Great food and service
Their breakfast Tacos are awesome and you can get it whole day, you should try them. This is very much local type. If you like spicy, you should ask for verde sauce, my favorite.
The portions are never small, the service is always fast and friendly, and the food is very delicious, whether you order by the pound, or get a plate dinner in the restaurant. Very affordable huge dinners!
I just went in to see what they had. I have to tell you the meat is fresher. The produce more robust . And the staff incredibly helpful.. Goodbye Walmart and HEB ... We're staying here.
The food is always good here. They always have a variety of aguas frescas. The meat is always tasty and full of flavor. Definitely a good spot to eat if your in the mood for mexican food.
I'll talk about the carnitas because that's why I go there, those are the most authentic Carnitas I've tried in Austin Area. The taste feels like I'm eating back home 🇲🇽
Excellent home made corn tortillas. Some of the best in TX. The meat is also of excellent quality and the cooking techniques are true to Mexico. A great grill taste and awesome barbacoa and menudo. Great for breakfast lunch or dinner!
They have a sitting area to the side with tables and chairs for ppl to sit down and eat. They have great food, reasonable prices and they make the tortillas right in front of you. They come out nice and hot and very delicious!
Food is great service not so much....be attentive if you order food to go, first time i was there they skipped my turn and said it was never on the system fortunatly i had my reciept on my hand and showed them i had it. But the chicharrones are out of this world with the salsa and the freshly made tortillas thats a 10 out of 10 in taste!
I go here for the by the pound cooked carnitas combo deal. Delicious. Comes with tortillas, rice, and beans at $11 per pound.
Food is authentic Mexican food. Aways delicious and fresh. Every Saturday morning we get barbacoa and carnitas! The "to go" ordering process can be confusing when you are new but the food make up for it. Not to mention the freshly made tortillas. Its just like being in Mexico. I totally recommend!
I have been coming here since it used to be a smaller establishment and their food only gets better and better. Even when they’re busy they always offer a great service. The food is great and the portions are big. It’s one of my favorite restaurants ❤️
OmfreakinG!!!!!! You guys, if you like carnitas, tortillas off the factory line, fresh salsas, barbacoa, chicharrones!!!!! This is the place to go get it! At least here in Austin. Service isn't great but you don't have to eat at the restaurant side. You can go to the line, get what you want to go. Si está rico aquí, no es x nada pero sip!
I came back to Texas after 8 years of being away. I really missed good, homemade Mexican food. I haven't found that spot that really hit the mark..... until now. The food was incredible. It was a real joy to eat. I will be coming back for more food. I hope others get a chance to visit.
Authentic corn tortillas/totopos/tostadas you will not find anywhere else in Austin. The carnitas and chicharron were so great they give you sides even if you take them to go. 10/10
One of the most delicious mexican restaurant I have eaten at. Got the fajitas de res. Rice was good, lots of free salsa, meat was tender and had that charred black spots which adds some nice flavor to it. Tortillas are made from scratch.
Omg! I got a potato and I was like ‘mehh’ i don’t really like potatoes…but decided to try it cus im trying to eat healthy but wooooow that potato was so delicious!! So soft and chewable with an amazing flavor! 😮😮😮I never thought a plain potato could taste so goooood ! !😍😍😍
Omg this lil hole in the wall is delicious and not pricey! Such great service and great food!! Super homemade deliciousness!! If you want authentic Mexican food you gotta come! Try the hot salsa... it's delicious 😋 feels like you're at the rancho! The masisa plate is my fave bc there's no fat on the Barbacoa... try it!!
We had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was outstanding, packed with so much flavor—it really stood out. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, never hovering but always available with a quick wave. Their friendly demeanor made the visit enjoyable. The atmosphere is simple, more of a "sit, eat, and go" vibe, but it worked for an early dinner. Definitely worth visiting for the delicious food and great service!
Great authentic Mexican food. Try the torta. It could have been packed a bit more with meat, but overall, the meat was seasoned well and very delicious. The horchata wasn't too sweet, and it was just right. French fries are average, but you do get ketchup, green sauce and red sauce which all have a bit of a kick in spice. La comida esta bien buena!!
I ordered chicken fajitas and my friend ordered Carne asada (steak). Food came with salsa and guacamole on side both of the salsa and guacamole was freshly made and quite spicy which I loved. This was the best most authentic Mexican food I have ever tasted to the date. Ate breakfast next morning, breakfast tacos were great!
Very good food and prices are reasonable. They sale great tortillas y chicharrones as well
This place has the best carnitas and homemade tortillas in town, I am in love whit their food.
Popular local spot for fresh made tortillas and Mexican food. It is a "hole in the wall' don't be scared for the appearance as it looks like a mini market.
great mexican food... good portions however the service sucks... the waitress appeared to be totally overwhelmed... Great food bad service... prices were a bit much but the portions were good...
You know when a place is busy, people lined up, that the food is great, & it was, parking is hazardous, price is reasonable, portions good, i would stop in more often, but, they are way to busy, & Im pressed for time
The food was great, rich in flavor and not expensive,
Huge and delicious tacos!! Salsas were really good and everything looked really fresh! I recommend the buche con cuerito taco!
Everything was great! The food was very delicious, especially the chilaquiles rojos. The only problem is that the food is kind of overpriced.
Fast line on one of the freeze days. Had everything on the menu. Super helpful. Only thing was I wish they would have given me a bag for my food. I had to the walk down the ramp and pray not to slip and fall with my food.
One the best mexican places to eat in austin and slightly cheaper. Pros: food taste authentic and not whitewashed. Great Amount of food for the price. Salsa is great. Service is good Cons: small area and fills up fast.
The atmosphere was great(family friendly). The food was delicious, the only bad thing about our experience was our server. The server was not friendly which I can say I didn't care for since she took our order right and brought the food in a timely manner. The big issue for me was at the end of our visit; she handed me my credit card after paying and stood right beside me which made it awkward for me when leaving the tip. I use to be a server so that was a big NO for me, still left her 20%. Maybe next time we get a different server
Tortillas are great here. Carnitas are the best I tried so far.
Tried this place for the first time. Was moderately impressed. Prices were fair but a bit on the high side. I ordered the carne asada plate with nopalitos. The portion size was decent, and all the items have good flavor. The food came out quickly, and we received decent service, but there were times where no one was available and they seemed a bit short handed. Hot sauces were pretty hot, chips and salsa provided with the meal. I'd return here to try some more items while passing thru, this was just a last minute random choice.
They don't serve the quantity they used too, I got 2 pozoles and they were more water than anything. They should put signs that tells you that phone orders have to be picked up at another area or when orders should be picked up at another area to save some time I had to wait 15 minutes on in line in line for them to tell me I had to go to another area for pick up
First time, had the 3 tacos plate, any meats you like. Pretty good, generous on the meat, full size corn tortillas, I left pretty stuffed. Beans and we're so, so. No fountain sodas, bottles only. Prices are a tad on the higher side but still affordable.
Was very excited to eat here as they make their tortillas fresh but disappointed they're made with just average run of the mill masa. Nothing special here other than being very fresh but still lacked that homemade fresh ground corn taste. Food was average, their avocado salsa was very very good.
I always buy food from here but noticed their portions get smaller and more expensive each time. I purchased a caldo and now the bowls are smaller had 2 carrot slices,2 slices calabasa, 1 corn and 3 small pieces of meat the size of a quarter. They don't really give you any rice for your soup just a bunch of onions and cilantro. It could have been a different cook🤷.
Food is good but the service ordering over the phone is horrible they are so sarcastic & 7/10 times get our order wrong. We don't like to check the food there because we don't want to touch other people's food since we order for a group but we've had to since they don't believe you, even in front of them we've proven the order is wrong, and the cashier gets all sarcastic about it "we ordered wrong" we've gon3 to the length of recording & still the order is wrong.
The food was ok except we had to ask for tortillas and the waitress was sweeping around our table while we were eating and we didn’t like that so we asked her to please go somewhere else. She never came back to refill or Tea, I was very unhappy with the money we spent.
I thought the breakfast tacos would be bigger and fuller especially on how much they are charging for
Food is great! But… If you use Apple Pay or a card, they will charge you a “3% Transaction Fee.” If you need a bag to carry your food, they will charge for it ($0.15). I ran into a frequent customer and was warned, “be careful they will charge you for every little thing) La comida está rica! Pero… Si usas Apple Pay o tarjeta, te cobran el 3%. Si necesitas una bolsa para llevar, te la cobran a 15 centavos.
They must have been short on ice and coffee that morning could not get water with more than 4 ice cubes ,no refill on coffe, and it was a slow morning will try again in a month
Talking food, service is good but customer service is bad bad. I order something and was given a completely different plate. When I told the waitress all she said was " as you can see we're just too busy" didn't even bother to ask if I'd like what I actually ordered. Not to mention I was not the only one but 4-5 different other customer also got the wrong order.Besides that, they were charging wrong orders. Total and complete mess. Not organized at all. I'd recommend this place but only if you're taking out and triple make sure you get and paid what you ordered. Other than that food is good.
Staff very rude I told her the menudo needed to be fixed it was like eating water with meat and the waitress argued that we where the only one that complain and she was not going to do anything about it I had never had a waitress talk back to me the way she had they need to learn customer service. She ruined the rest of our lunch
Food it's OK just way too Crowded , feels they take forever to get your order ready. Besides charging for the use of a Debit card with a 3% , the are Big Disappointing bussines, not going Back .
The food here is tasty but overpriced. The service was bad and they charged full price for the tea refills. No warning on this. The server constantly carried the food out with money in the same hand. The money was touching the plate. It was a horrible experience overall.
I hope the tacos are good, because the ordering experience was easily the worst I've ever experienced at any food establishment. I feel mentally drained and frankly, embarrassed. What a nightmare.
Went for Menudo, paid to go but changed our minds to dine in. I thought it was my sinuses I couldn't smell it but it was deep red - literally like sipping hot red food coloring water. It was SO disappointed we got up and left didn't even ask for a refund it was so pitiful
The menu clearly states 3 tacos any type of meat with a drink and beans and rice for 11.99. We were charged 13.99 plus .50 extra per taco for each of the three and no drink. When we asked the server about the discrepancy she stated that the prices went up and they have not changed the menu. Mind you we asked up front about the price and we made sure before we ordered. She said the price on the menu was correct. We asked to speak to person in charge and she said a man by the name of Ramon was in charge but he did not want to come out from behind to set things right. So buyer beware, looks to me it's a little bait and switch with the prices.
Was super rude in the morning wanted to put an order to pick up was requiring card to pay I just think it was to early for her to be working the way she was responding
I'm a visitor to Austin. I drove here for 2 days and this was the first food I ate in this city. I am very disappointed, the portion is small, there is literally 1.5 tablespoons of rice, the meat is not chewable. I have never seen beef of such quality, even if you buy the cheapest meat at Walmart, it will be of better quality. I was left hungry.
